Fractured Rock Star #2

Fractured Dreams

Rate this book
Rock stars break hearts.

That's a lesson Eden Taylor just learned the hard way. Leaving town to stay with her brother should have been the perfect way to escape the pain of her breakup, but she wasn't expecting to end up sharing the house with her brother's best friend -- Fractured's lead guitarist, Tex McLain.

She wasn't expecting to notice how sexy he is . . . or to start craving his touch. And she absolutely wasn't expecting to forget the lesson she only just learned . . .

Tex is getting tired of the casual hookups that come with the rock star lifestyle—been there, done plenty of that. He's looking for someone he feels a connection with -- a spark.

Just his luck when he finally feels it, it's with the one woman he can't have. Eden's too young for him -- too bright-eyed and full of dreams. Not to mention his best friend's little sister. He needs to stay away . . .

Tension simmers, lines are crossed, and soon there's no turning back.

But it's true that rock stars break hearts. Sometimes . . . it's their own.

A Rock Star Who Doesn’t Follow Rules!!

Rule #1 Do NOT mess with my sister. That was what Fractured drummer, Noah, wanted Tex to watch for because his sister Eden has just come off a relationship in which her rocker boyfriend was caught cheating on her. He didn’t want his sister hurt again especially from anyone who was a musician because everyone knows that they can’t be trusted. So with Eden now staying at Noah’s for a short time before she starts her internship in Oregon Tex is asked to move into Noah’s house to keep watch over his sister.

Of course things take on a life of its own because Eden has always had the biggest crush on Tex but he was about ten years older than her and he always just saw her as Noah’s sister. Well, that sure took a change because now Eden was all grown up and his mind started to wander to the woman that Eden now was. Would Tex go against his band mate and his best friend to cross that line with Eden? Eden sure wanted it to happen.

The heartache in this book was crushing at times and the steam was off the charts. Would they be able to keep their secret once Noah returned home and was this really something that a “forever” could come from? I am definitely going to follow this author and I can’t wait to read more from the Fractured boys!!

3 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Fractured Dreams was my first time book by L.M. Dalgleish and it definitely wasn’t a 4 or 5 star for me. Reason being was, I felt everything in this book was so rushed and fast. Never really got that connection with the H and h that I like to get when reading a book. The relationship was just fast moving. One minute Tex see Eden as the little sister of his friend Noah to Eden being the person Tex wants to spend his life with. I kinda got that insta-love Vibe right from the start. So needless to say their wasn’t really any push or pull in this story or any development which to me made it boring.

Also Eden didn’t come across to me being this strong and independent woman like the author was trying to portray her. I actually thought she was on the pathetic side more. Especially when it came to Men. She really didn’t have much of a backbone.
Tex wasn’t anything to write home about either, he was your typical rockstar. I really didn’t care much for him. He talked a good talk about not wanting to hurt Eden, but it seem like every chance he got that’s exactly what he did.. making promises he couldn’t keep. Overall the story was just OK in my book.

I really enjoyed this series. I also love that model Brandon Katz is “Tex” and how fun it is to see him next to my “Ty” - also Brandon Katz!

I love how Tex is a closet romantic, looking for his forever love. Eden is his perfect foil. Really great story.

This story was so good, I couldn’t put it down. Eden is the little sister of the drummer of the band Fractured. He’s as overprotective as her parents who still treat her like a child. The only one who had ever treated her differently was Tex. So running away from a recent breakup she heads to her brother’s beach house in LA. Tex has been assigned to stay with her so she’s not alone. This of cause was a disaster because they started to really see each and it was hot. Tex is the six foot four inches muscled inked hottie who likes to drink whiskey and read bodice ripping romance novels. He’s freaking adorable, talented and sexy as hell. This story is romantic, it’s sweet and the two are just perfect together. I really tried to read this book slowly because I didn’t want it to end. I recommend this book highly. I still recommend you read book one first, Fractured Hearts only because it’s easier to recognize all the players but it’s not necessary.

Lots of ups and downs in Tex and Eden's story.

She catches Mason, her ex , in bed with another woman. So the last thing she wants is another rock star romance. Unfortunately, Eden's feelings for Tex are growing day by day. But she's making Tex pay for Mason's sins. Tex has enough problems hiding the fact that he's "creeping" with Eden.

Noah is not going to be happy that Tex, Noah's band mate, is loving on his little sister.

Let the fireworks begin!

Okay i love the traits for the mmc but his name is Tex and he’s supposed to be southern? That was just an ick for me and I almost DNF’d just because of his name. I really hated his name and I found it hard to get through the book. Weirdly enough I got more into the book during the third act breakup.

Eden starts out with a bitter taste with rock stars because of her boyfriend. She believes they are all the same.

Tex might be living the rock star life but he learns he is not truly living. He wants love but afraid of it hurting.

Truth is... love hurts. These two prove that fact. They do it to themselves and to each other. Can they meet in the middle?

A story that follows the path of love and how it pulls and pushes. I received an ARC for an honest and voluntarily review.

“So, what is it about romance books you like so much?” she asked.
He looked down at the book in his hand, his face contemplative.
“I don’t know. I guess I like that you can see the spark between them right at the start, no matter how wrong they might seem for each other. I like the slow burn as they realize how much they want each other, then seeing how want turns to need. I like the guaranteed happily ever after. The knowing that even when the pages in the middle rip your heart out and make you bleed, the two of them are gonna end up together.”.

Angsty great love story. Tex is doing a favour for his drummer bandmate Noah. Little did he realize that it would cost him his heart. Eden is his friends little sister who grew into an amazing woman. Tex knows she’s off limits but Eden didn’t get the message. Hot chemistry and they carry on under the radar for months….then everything gets flipped and the angst takes over. Loved the Epilogue and HEA even if I sobbed along with this love story. Five stars and a box of tissues!

you know i'm a sucker for a rockstar romance but this one didnt hit the spot, i feel like even though they can be read as standalones, reading the 1st one always gives you more depth (which i dint do because i found this specific one on a tiktok review), Tex didnt click for me cause i barely knew anything about him.
i dont know, i didnt feel as much as with my other rockstar romances, so although it was okay i dont think ill revisit this series.

This is the 2nd book in this series and is Tex and Eden’s story. When Eden finds out her rock star boyfriend is cheating on her she needs to get away and heads for her brother Noah. Tex is the guitarist and Noah’s best friend, and he ends up sharing a house with Eden, who has always had a huge crush on him. Tex knows that Eden is off limits, but the attraction between them is undeniable and the chemistry is off the charts. This is a beautifully written story which is well paced and with engaging characters, as well as having heartbreak, emotions, and love, which all leads to a sweet and all-consuming tale. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

This was absolutely, unbelievably good!!!! Like shockingly good. I've been burned before by cheesy rock star romances but not this one. Not only was the writing wonderful the plot and pacing was on point. This was a romance done right. All the feels and I'm left satisfied the way a great book leaves you.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Don’t fall in love with your best friends little sister
Don’t fall in love with a rockstar

Well, you know what they say about the best laid plans! Love comes along when you don’t want it.

Eden & Tex are everything I love about rockstar romance. You can’t help who you fall for, even if it tests friendships.

Good Follow Up Story

This is the second in the Fractured series and it didn't disappoint. I liked Tex in the first book and this ' friend's little sister' story was an easy read. Eden has been coddled since her premature birth and just wants her independence and Tex tries to resist, but they are just meant to be. I'm looking forward to reading more in this series.

4 stars! Tex was different than I thought he would be but I really liked him as a MC. I loved Eden. She had such purpose after being sheltered. I like how despite her past she found her voice. She was strong. Tex and Eden had a pretty instant connection, and their relationship went really fast. Part of me wishes it slowed down a little but at the same time, I was getting all the feels in the third act. It felt so raw that it pulled at my emotions of the turmoil they both were feeling, along with Noah. The rock star aspect of this book was even less than the first. Speaking of the first book I love how we got to see Lexi and Connor's wedding and all the little aspects like the jokes, and song that we saw in their book. This book made me even more intrigued by Zac, while Noah has stood out more to me personally this book really made me want to know more about Zac. He's more reserved but I feel like there is a lot to him and I can't wait to read his book. Noah is next and with all the little hints about what happened with him and Summer I know I'll be diving into their story soon!

Another great book by Ms. Dalgleish.

Tex McLain. That man. Where do I even begin? Tex is definitely a ladies man. However, he has a good heart and is very noble. He's demanding but not in a bad way. It's quite sexy.

Eden. She's always been the younger sister to the band. Well she's 21 years old now and is gonna show everyone, especially Tex that she's a grown woman. She's strong and feisty. She is only 21 but she can and does take care of herself.

Eden and Tex's story was beautifully written and wonderfully told. Eden's older brother Noah is in the same band with Tex, so that automatically makes Eden off limits. Yeah well, tell fate that. Noah was and is Eden's protector. He ended up really pissing me off at one point. But has since redeemed himself with me. So I'm looking forward to reading his book, Fractured Trust.

Great characters and amazing storyline. I highly recommend this book to any readers who love rock star romances.

Another rockstar romance~I find myself drawn to this theme lately. I fell in love with the gorgeous, huge, tattooed, whiskey-eyed rockstar Tex in book #1 in this series. Tex is a bit of a gentle, smooth-talking southern giant, who is gorgeous to look at and has a beautiful soul. Eden is the little sister of the band’s drummer Noah, and thus off-limits to the band members. But after a bad breakup, Eden comes to stay with Noah and he asks his friend Tex to keep an eye on her while he goes on tour. Meanwhile the two have a heated affair that goes sideways once Noah finds out. I do wish this book was a bit more fast-paced, as it felt repetitive after a while, but I did love their chemistry. The next book in the series is about Noah and his first love, and I can’t wait to read his story.

I read this book on Kindle.

Wow. This one did have me frustratingly struggling to read through tears. Poignant. I think because Tex is just that awesome a character. Nothing like a man in love with being in love. And who loves romance novels. With the tattoos and the guitar and the Southern drawl. And just enough damaged to be understanding of others if not of himself.

Music therapy via Lexie was fun to learn about. And the sibling relationship between she and Noah was flawed but beautiful. I was hoping for a little schadenfreude, though. I really wanted Mason to see how much he fucked up by witnessing Lexie’s HEA with a rockstar way more successful than him.

Juvenile

Okay. I stopped right there where the below quote is. NO man talks like this. It is silly, teenage girl speak.

"........he wanted that—the spark, the overwhelming passion… the love. It had always been something he’d wanted, and he didn’t have to be a psychologist to figure out it was probably connected to his mom leaving him and his dad when he was only six years old. That her departure from his life left him craving a relationship where someone loved you enough to never leave."

Come on. Have a man proof your books. Sorry but really?

Would have been 5 stars but….

I enjoyed Tex and Eden’s story. The only reason it wasn’t a 5 star review for me was the fact that it seemed like every other paragraph it mentioned they are rock stars. Yes we get it. It doesn’t have to be told to the reader constantly. Even when it really wasn’t needed to be mentioned. Other then a few little hang ups that was the only issue I had. The hang ups are more of my preference then anything and I knew that they would be in these books knowing the troupes in these books.

A rockstar romance with an HEA..Yes!!

I loved the story of Tex and Eden. Sometimes no matter the circumstances…when you find true love you have to hang onto it. Tex and Eden, though broken, held on for theirs. I love it and you will too…just be sure to have your tissues ready! Now I’m off to read the rest of this series…these guys are HOT!!

This book was enjoyable enough, but I found it a little predictable. There was nothing about the book that was spectacular, but there was nothing about it that was lacking. It’s a typical rock ‘n’ roll romance story. Rocker has all the girls, he’s a stud, but doesn’t have true love in his life. Bandmate’s sister comes along and rocks his world, so he changes his ways for the love of his life.
