Ty The Tyrannosaur just wants to make a friend. Sadly, the other dinosaurs are all afraid of his sharp teeth! So Ty must go on an adventure to find a dinosaur brave enough to be friends with a Tyrannosaur.

This is an adorable children's book with captivating and colorful pictures. It is about making friends, reaching out to others, and being accepting of the differences of others. My three grandchildren, ages 6, 2, and 2 (twins), really enjoyed it. The book is also structured in a way that is easy for little hands to open and hold. Highly recommend for parents of young children to read with and teach their little ones.
I received a free copy of this book from the publishers via R&R Book Tours. My review is voluntary.
Making friends can be hard for kids, especially if there is something about them that’s different or that other kids might be afraid of. This adorable children's book tells a tale of just this circumstance. Ty the Tyrannosaur is a vegan who wants nothing more than to make friends, yet all the other dinosaurs run away from him. He’s able to find friendship in a freshly hatched tiny dino, and because of his example of acceptance the rest of the dino’s decide to give him a chance. The illustration is absolutely perfect and the story is perfectly easy reading for small children. I have an 8 and 6 year old and they both absolutely love the book!! I highly recommend it for your littles. 5 stars for me!
The Littlest Dinosaur is a beautifully illustrated story about a little tyranosaur who can’t make any friends. The other dinosaurs are afraid of him because they assume he is a carnivour and will eat them. The message of course is about making assumptions about someone or in this case, something based on their appearance.
My daughter adores dinosaurs and to be honest, so do I and always have, so this book was such a treat to read together.
The Littlest Dinosaur delivers an important message in a way children can easily understand, and it was entertaining and gorgeous to look at. I highly recommend it!
*** Disclaimer : I received e-copy as a part of blog tour, in exchange for an honest review. Many thanks to Shannon for tour invite and authors for review copy. ***
The Littlest Dinosaur was cute and pleasant looking illustrated book about lonely Ty trying find friend. It was about not judging someone from appearance, how hard it is to find friends, inclusions, and acceptance.
🦕Ty was lovely and patient Tyrannosaur. 🦕Littlest Dinosaur was cute and I loved how he trusted Ty and showed others Ty was harmless. 🦕All illustrations were beautiful. 🦕Most of pages were in pastel colours that made it pleasant to look at. 🦕Topic of inclusion and acceptance was great. 🦕provides perfect scenario and story for it and open a discussion.
Overall, The Littlest Dinosaur was cute, lovely, feel-good, and beautifully illustrated children’s book.
I read this book twice because I couldn't figure out how I felt about it. It's definitely a cute book, it's quick and I love the message. It's very simple to read for adults but I can see kids having a hard time pronouncing some of the words. I love the illustrations as well. They were simple and cute and colorful. So overall it was a really good book. For me there was one thing I couldn't get past and that was the reasoning behind why Ty the Tyrannosaur wouldn't eat the other dinosaurs. Kids won't know the difference but I do. It's a silly thing to get hung up on and I know that. Everyone has been loving this book and I totally get why they do so if you want to read this please don't let my review keep you from reading it because it really was a cute read. I originally gave this book a 3.5 star rating but after thinking on it some more I bumped it up to a 4.
Ty the tyrannosaurus just wants to make friends! He’s not like other t-rex’s, but no one seems to understand that and they all run away. He finally makes a friend with a newly hatched dino, and soon all the others come to understand that Ty is different and they shouldn’t have run away.
This little cutie of a book is perfect for all the little dino lovers out there, much like my 5 year old. The illustrations are colorful and bright. I love that it’s all about making friends and how sometimes it’s not easy. It also shows littles that it’s ok to be different and that everyone deserves a friend.
*Many thanks to R&R Booktours and the author for providing a copy for review.
Such a cute little book! My kids are four and six and they constantly ask for this one as their bedtime story. My six year old can read it now on her own which she loves to do. It has lovely illustrations and is a great feel-good story. 10/10
I don’t normally review children’s picture books here, but I do actually love them! For one thing, I do have children, and my little ones love picture books, especially ones about dinosaurs (I have so many dinosaur books). So I was excited to get a copy of The Littlest Dinosaur in exchange for an honest review!
This is a very cute book. I loved the illustrations of the little dinosaur and all the other dinosaurs that he meets while he’s looking for a friend on his journey. The story overall is very cute and simple, something that would make a good bedtime story. If I had a criticism, it would be that the dinosaur calls himself a “vegan” multiple times, which seems like a word many young kids wouldn’t easily understand. Also, as someone who loves science, I wasn’t necessarily convinced that a carnivore like T-Rex should be personified as a vegan. But it is a fantasy story, and it has a very cute ending. And if you are a vegan or interested in veganism, it might be a fun book for you and your kids to share.
Overall, I think this would be a good book for any families, especially if they have kids who love dinosaurs! My daughter (who is seven) also read it, and she thought it was very cute too. https://www.lunarianpress.com/news/20...
Lovely children’s book. Vegan dinosaur! For this long time vegetarian grandma what a treat to have a book that opens room for discussion on the foods we eat. Great illustrations.will be interested in next little adventure for this dinosaur
This is an absolutely adorable, sweet book! The illustrations are so cute, and the story will make you smile. Definitely proves you can't just rely on appearances.
First, I would like to thank the authors/publisher for giving me a free paperback to review. I am deeply in your debt. Usually, when it comes to picture books, I don't have any high standards. That means I'm not as picky. That means if the information inside the book is easy for a child to understand, I'm okay with it. The art style and the illustrations don't signify anything for me unless it doesn't fit the aesthetics. The Littlest Dinosaur goes beyond that, I'll say. The story is about a sweet Tyrannosaur named Ty who wants to make a new friend. Sadly, many of the other dinosaurs are scared of him. That leads to Ty going on a journey to find someone he can make as his friend. It is a very heartwarming tale that a child can read as their bedtime story. I think it just fits the mood that way. Anyway, I'll be moving on to the art style. As I have said before, I'm not picky with art styles. As an artist, I know it takes a lot of effort to make a picture come to life. I appreciate the artist for adding pastel colors and a simplistic tone to the story. I like how neat everything looks. The art style is cute. I like how the speech bubbles add to the story. Now for the story itself, the author did very well. Certain words might be hard for a child to understand/pronounce. Then again, these are dinosaurs. It doesn't ruin the entire story for me. I like how the font size is big and how interactive the speech bubbles add to the text. I know I said this before, but I'll say it. The speech bubbles make the story/characters come to life. I don't read many picture books with speech bubbles. And I think it does contribute to the child's mindset towards reading. All in all, I highly recommend this one. I think kids will love this!
Jurassic Park meets life lessons. It’s a win for all! I love dinosaurs, I always have and probably always will. So it should come as no surprise that I jumped at the chance to read this story with my little and give a review on it. The story centers around Ty the tyrannosaur who has issues making friends because everyone is afraid of him. This beautifully illustrated tale focuses on issues that I believe everyone deals with at some point in life but definitely kids. Judging a book by its cover is almost never correct, especially in the case of a dinosaur who looks ferocious but is sweet as can be. My daughter loved the pictures and the funny voices I used while reading it. I enjoyed that it was quick and to the point while also promoting a positive lesson. All in all I give The Littlest Dinosaur 5 out of 5 stars.
Although it is a cute story for little kids, it's way too short and I think that some concepts need a bit more explanation for the children to properly understand the story. But if the parents want to be explaining stuff while they read the story to their kids, I guess it can work just fine.
Such a cute book, I want more from the authors! They were so kind when we met them and my child wanted all the books. We will go back and add them to our collection! He loved the story so much we had to reread it as soon as we finished it !
The lesson of this story is you should not judge a person by their appearance.
This is so important for children to learn and I know a few adults that would benefit from this too 🙂
Essentially this story is about Ty who wants to make friends but when he approaches other dinosaurs they see him and run away. No one gives him a chance to even talk to them until he finds the Littlest Dinosaur. The LIttlest Dinosaur and Ty become friends and when the other dinosaurs see them together they realize they might have acted rashly. I won’t tell you why you have to get the book to see.
