Lydia Montgomery is a Tramp.

After fleeing a tragic past, Lydia’s determined never to go back to the life she left behind at any price. She lands in Grand Haven, California—a city booming with billion dollar corporations and tech money—and everything changes.

Armed with the only lesson she learned from her mother, Lydia builds a life of routine, solitude, and success.

Nothing is out of reach when you’re beautiful.

Nearly a decade after her arrival, Lydia's the highest paid escort in the city, and only the most influential people in Grand Haven can get near her. She's a goddess among her clients, and out of reach to everyone else. Lydia's created the perfect illusion, and no one will take it from her again.

Until a misunderstanding lands her in the office of the city’s most eligible bachelor.

Talent Ridge is Grand Haven royalty. Despite running in the same circles as Lydia’s clients, he’s scandal-free and on his way to being the most powerful man in the area.

Their chemistry is undeniable, but a relationship has the potential to destroy everything they’ve worked for. Especially when Lydia is running from her past, and Talent is running toward a future she can never be a part of.

Beauty and money can’t save them this time.

Are Lydia and Talent willing to give it all up for each other, or will their differences cost too much?

Mary Elizabeth was born and raised in Southern California. She is a wife, mother of four beautiful children, and dog tamer to one enthusiastic Pit Bull and a prissy Chihuahua. She's a hairstylist by day but contemporary fiction, new adult author by night.

Mary can often be found finger twirling her hair and chewing on a stick of licorice while writing and rewriting a sentence over and over until it's perfect. She discovered her talent for tale-telling accidentally, but literature is in her chokehold. And she's not letting go until every story is told.

There are a lot of hoops a client has to go through if they want me.
But who runs the world?
Girls.

My first read by this author, and I was impressed from the first page. A gritty journey of a high end call girl that will have your heart breaking for a girl stripped bare.

Lydia Montgomery, aka Cara Smith is deemed as the best prostitute money can buy. Not many could imagine the depths of hell she's been through to call this lifestyle, secure. And it certainly comes at a high price tag once you see beyond the Louboutin's and glamour.

"I’m nothing like your other clients, but you know that, right?"
"Who are you?" Talent asks again.
"Your wildest dreams," I say.

Lawyer Talent Ridge, wasn't prepared to be seduced and fucked out of his goddamn mind. Thinking it was a potential client, neither he or Lydia realised they'd been played. What should have been a 'prosperous' arrangement, ends up being much more complicated.

Lydia prides her anonymity and reputation above all else. Being caught out in a compromising situation is the beginning of her demise. Because for the first time ever, she gets feelings for a client.

Talent’s the kind of guy who makes a slut feel like a queen.
"I like spending time with you, Lydia. But I’m not fucking paying for it," he says. Talent licks his lips.

There are heroes and then there are men like Talent. Where you would expect arrogance or attitude from a man of such wealth and stature, he is the complete opposite. In fact he is adorably badass and tenacious in getting Lydia to like him back. Even against all her objections, he will tear down her defenses.

I adore unconventional love stories. There is nothing more refreshing than romances that aren't generic since real love can be ugly and messy. Tramp was in your face and tragically real, with a few twists along the way. Best of all, it was surprisingly romantic. 🖤

I have read every one of Mary Elizabeth’s books and what I love most about them is they’re not your typical romance read. They all have something special and different about them, plus her writing is in a league of its own. I was so excited to read Tramp and it didn’t disappoint. I enjoyed this one so much and I’m looking forward to reading more from this world.
In a city like Grand Haven, rich with real estate, startups, and old and new money, everything has a hefty price tag. Including me.

Lydia Montgomery is a tramp. Or a high end escort/prostitute if you want to get technical. She has her clients, her rules, and her schedule and she doesn’t stray from that. It’s a routine that gets her through her days and it’s the life she’s used to, even if it’s not the one she has planned for her life.

Talent Ridge is one of the most prominent men in Grand Haven and Lydia is sent to serve him. Only there is some confusion and complications that lead to an entirely different path from the one Lydia is on…
Have I always been one decision away from a new path? Is that why I never strayed from my rules?

Lydia was one of those characters I was unsure about at first, but the more I got to know her the more I loved her. She and Talent had this intense and undeniable chemistry. No mater how much being with him might shake up her life, she couldn’t stay away. Talent Ridge… sigh. I loved Talent from the start. I loved that he never judged Lydia or looked down on her for her life or choices. He just loved her.

My favorite thing about picking up a Mary Elizabeth book is her lyrical and gorgeous writing. This story was full of emotion, steam, and kept me on the edge of my seat. I was anxious to see how everything would turn out and now that I know, I’m even more excited to read Harlot. If you’re looking for a sexy and intriguing read, be sure to pick up Tramp!

Overall Opinion: Dang. I really wanted to like this! I’m in the minority again. This just didn’t work for me. I never connected with either character, I didn’t feel their connection to each other (the closest I got was the bar scene), I didn’t like the h and that’s all we get for POV, and I was frustrated with the ending. I thought the H was too accepting of the h’s profession. I’m not saying I wanted him to be a raging in jealousy kind of guy, but I thought some kind of reaction other than an occasional clenched jaw was more appropriate. I also felt like the H’s secret was super lame and eye roll inducing...because of course he had that secret 🙄 . It all got tied up way too smoothly for me while the way in which it all was tied up was kind of out there but just never really fully addressed . It all left me pretty frustrated tbh.

Brief Summary of the Storyline: This is Lydia and Talent’s story. Lydia is a high-end escort and gets sent to an appointment with the city’s hotshot hottie lawyer. After their steamy encounter they realize that he didn’t arrange the appointment and Lydia’s world gets turned upside down. There is some cat and mouse chasing, some secrets revealed, some sexy times...and they get a HFN ending.

Point Of View (POV): This was told in Lydia’s POV.

Overall Pace of Story: Alright. I skimmed some towards the end because I wasn’t all that invested anymore.

Instalove:No but yes. I wouldn’t say it was instant but I also don’t understand where the deeper feelings came from because they seemed out of nowhere.

H (Hero) rating: 3 stars. Talent. He was okay. I appreciated how he didn’t judge the h and was caring for her, but I don’t feel as though we ever got deep into his character. Also, not digging his name - I found it odd at times.

h (heroine) rating: 2 stars. Lydia. I struggled with her. I didn’t find her likable. I never connected with her either.

Sadness level: Low, no tissues needed

Push/Pull:Yes

Heat level: Good. They have some good tension, chemistry, and scenes -- but not so much it takes away from the story.

Descriptive sex: Yes

OW (Other Woman)/OM (Other Man) drama: Not really

Sex scene with OW or OM: Yes

Cheating: Not IMO

Separation: No, because I don’t consider them to be together during those times

Possible Triggers: Yes

Closure: This ends abruptly with lots of unanswered questions and what I would call a HFN ending .

Safety: This one should be either Safe with exception or Not Safe for most safety gang readers depending on personal preferences

There are a lot of hoops a client has to go through if they want me. But who runs the world? Girls.

New Mary Elizabeth fan girl right here. 👏🏻 Next year, I'm coming for her backlist while also counting down the days until Harlot is released. I mean, any author who can make me root for a high end escort and a filthy rich lawyer deserves all the praise, right?

I’m the fatherless daughter of a stripper, without a formal education, left to fend for herself at sixteen years old. My existence is lonely, but it’s more than I ever imagined for myself.

Lydia is one badass betch. I freaking loved her. Her fierceness. Her determination. Her Louboutins. EVERYTHING. I loved that she was the alpha of this story, and she refused to allow anyone to mess with her or take her down. Everything was on her terms, which at times made it hard for Talent to breakthrough, but also made for so much angst that I ate it up.

There’s not a place for a prince and a tramp to live in harmony.

And let's discuss Talent Ridge for a second. (fans self) That man 🔥 Perfection. Patient but bossy. Charming but stern. Sexy AF while also pulling off the boyish and carefree vibe. Ladies and gents, he's the stuff of a romance lovers dreams, and the chemistry between Lydia and Talent is off the charts.

If all women recognized their worth, this world would be a very, very different place.

I loved Tramp's message just as much as I loved the romance. Women have too many unrealistic expectations placed upon them and very little room for error. Look pretty. Look approachable. Be strong, but be a little vulnerable as well. Get yours, but also don't be too demanding. Tramp gives the middle finger to anyone crazy enough to think all of this is possible. It's a big FU to the man, thankyouverymuch.

This darker, grittier version of Pretty Woman is available on Kindle Unlimited. Best paired with Sinner's Prayer by Lady Gaga.

Tramp is certainly a interesting read. The high class escort finding her prince charming. Miss Elizabeth as usual is a talented writer.

The banter and the conversation is hot and complex. Since this is told from Lydia's POV, we understand more of her. Again, I really like the idea of the story. And Miss Elizabeth executed it very well.

What is missing is Talent's POV. I do not understand his attraction toward Lydia aside fom great sex. When the story develop further, I still do not get the reason why Talent is so obsess with Lydia.

The life of a prostitute. Tramp is Lydia Montgomery story of how she came to be just that. It’s a heartbreaking story but also a story of hope.
The first sixteen years of Lydia’s life had a defining impact on which direction to go and also why she’s the woman she is today. Mary Elizabeth depicts and explores those events with a poignantly precision which only made Lydia’s character and story arc much more compelling. I was invested in her and cheered her on.

Her meeting with Talent changes everything. He slowly but surely destroys her walls and evokes feelings she’s never felt before. She’s been going through life numb and alone. Now she’s navigating through all these new emotions and questioning herself. Does she still want this life? Selling herself for money. The chemistry is undeniable and Talent swept me off my feet. Lydia and Talent gave me steam and romance exactly when the story needed it.

The pace and storytelling kept me clued to the pages from start to end. Mary Elizabeth is back and so is her exquisite and intoxicating prose. I couldn’t be happier. She’s created a fabulous and entertaining series. The foundation for the next book is already laid and I’m more than ready.

"Talent Ridge is pure, unadulterated masculinity."

It's always fun being able to jump back into an old favorite. I have read many of Mary Elizabeth's books but she hasn't released in over two years, but if this is her comeback book, then watch out!! I will say, given the content of this book and the subject, it may turn off a few readers. If you are one of those readers, please understand that this book is more about the love between two people that is forbidden and very difficult to navigate given the circumstances. But with a strong willed man who is soooo good at being the alpha he is, and a very determined young lady that is very independent - almost stubbornly so, this was a story that I will happily and heartily recommend.

Mary Elizabeth has always been a go-to for me for a very welcome dose of heavy angst. She can tear my heart out, mishandle it, but she gives it back forever altered because I'm not sure I ever leave her characters. I love that she not only tells a story, but she has a flow with her words that many don't have. She has an amazing ability to manipulate words and add more visual and depth to the storyline.

"His enjoyment is my favorite sound."

These characters I was introduced to have definitely left a mark. Talent always paid attention to the little things, the almost unsaid truths that Lydia liked to hide and that is my favorite thing to see in a man. I also feel he had an unabused position of power, so he was strong in his own self and convictions - even though he may have had something to hide. I liked that he was who he was, because watching him saunter with serious swagger throughout this book was definitely a treat. Between his confidence, an attractive mind and serious sex appeal, he was delicious!!

Lydia, on the other hand; I wanted to hold her and love her, but knowing her - she would push me away. She was so strong and stubborn, so determined to take care of herself and not need anyone, but I also saw there was a little girl inside screaming to get out. I felt for her, but I admired her strength and her ability to maneuver life, given the hand she was dealt.

"Turning my gaze to him, my lips part and I exhale. He stops time."

I'm smiling just thinking about the dynamic between these two. While they both exude their own version of confidence, my favorite part was their chemistry. I know one of my favorite things to do is fall in love with the characters as they are falling in love....sounds trivial in the whole scheme of things being a romance novel and all, I know - but when I can FEEL the allure, the fascination these characters have with each other, and the fact that they can't stay away from each other no matter the odds stacked against them, that tells me all I need to know. This whole book was amazing. I loved every part of it.

This will easily go down as one of my favorite books of the year. I loved the headiness and the desire that coursed through the characters. Lydia and Talent had my heart in a chokehold while watching them fight for what was one reality versus what was conceivable to the other. I loved that push and pull because going back and forth and grappling with a truth neither wanted to accept made this book go entirely too fast. I was completely swallowed up in their world. I was able to follow their emotions as everything was happening, so that certainly allowed me to connect on a more intimate level with them as well. I just loved their story.

And surprise!!! This is a standalone. I thought it was the first book in a trilogy - when in fact it is the first standalone in the series. So now, the next book in this series has me super excited to read it because the mystery alone is tantalizing!!! Gimme more, Mary Elizabeth!!

"You're the fucking devil."

I learned at a young age that looks are everything. Nothing in this world is out of reach for the simple fact that I was born a woman, blessed with an attractive face.

-ˏˋ Immediate Thoughts After Reading ˎˊ-

I did it you guys! It may have taken me a whole freaking month, but I did it! I officially completed Tramp and man do I feel extremely,

a c c o m p l i s h e d 😌 ✨

I hate to admit this butttttttttt - in the spirit of honesty - I was actually considering marking this book as a DNF! I liked the beginning a lot, and the ending had me so intrigued, but man oh man did the middle DRAG. Once I got to about 60% it was like the story hit a brick wall and it had about to write the book off, but then ending came out of nowhere and 👏 took 👏 it 👏 home 👏 ! I will say that I enjoyed TRAMP as a whole and I'm glad I didn't DNF it, butttttt in my opinion the romance really suffered from a serious case of insta-love.

-ˏˋ A Quick Summary ˎˊ-

TRAMP follows the journey of Lydia Montgomery becoming, well, Lydia Montgomery. Lydia or Cara as she's known to her clients, is a high-end escort. She's the best of the best, her clients love her, and she's fully shed her troubled upbringing. Lydia has created a barrier over her heart and is content to shut everything out, until Talent Ridge. When Lydia meets Talent the carefully constructed walls she's built in her life begin to crumble. Will Lydia embrace the future Talent offers her or will she reject him and the new path laid before her? TRAMP is the story of Lydia reclaiming her identity, letting go of past demons, and falling in love.

-ˏˋ What Worked For Me ˎˊ-

Lydia. . .for the most part ✦ SooooOOOoooo, this book was a weird one for me. On the one hand I really enjoyed the first half of the book, and a big part of that was because of Lydia. The Lydia we meet in the beginning of has. . .been through it. She clearly isn't over the death of her mother or the environment she was raised in.

I’m the fatherless daughter of a stripper, without a formal education, left to fend for herself at sixteen years old. My existence is lonely, but it’s more than I ever imagined for myself.

And yet Lydia has, against all odds, forged a good life for herself. While she may be an escort she's a highly sought after and coveted one. But, there is a profound sense in the beginning of TRAMP that Lydia is lost, lonely, and clearly shutting out the world. She doesn't want to make connections, she refuses to lay down roots, and it appears as if she's resigned and unhappy in her career.

“These men kiss me, touch me, fuck me six days a week. I get one day off to brace myself for it to happen again for another six days and another six days and another six days. One client a day is all I can stomach, Inez. Twenty-four hours isn’t long enough to recover from more than that. If they can’t wait for me, find another girl to do it.”

What's so interesting about Lydia is that she's both extremely fragile and yet she's incredibly tough and street smart. She has a true backbone of steel if you cross her, and carries herself with an unmistakeable confidence. Due to that, I was really annoyed that - at first - it appeared that those character traits seemed to just. . .disappear when she was with, thinking about, or interacting with Talent. And then I realized, the reason Lydia seems much more uncertain, inexperienced, and fragile around Talent is because of how much she trusts him. When she's around Talent she behaves like a 26 year old woman whose experiencing their first crush, she acts vulnerable, and she seems more approachable.

When he’s inside of me, I can’t imagine a life that doesn’t involve him. It’s like I’ve waited my entire life for him to rouse me out of the semi-existence I’ve suffered through this long.

Ultimately I think TRAMP was a love story, but it was also a story of dealing with the loss of a parent and the grief that comes with that. A good deal of the book is dedicated to Lydia thinking about, and analyzing the conflicting feelings she has towards her upbringing, her mother, and her mothers passing. This was really unexpected and I ended up loving that author Mary Elizabeth included it. By experiencing Lydia's grief with her I was able to truly understand her as a character, and fully realize her motivations and decisions.

I suffer, because despite how incompetent she was, Cricket was mine and I was hers, and I miss her. I care that she didn’t do better, and I care that she’s not here so I can tell her that I understand and forgive her.

While Lydia wasn't always the most consistent seeming character, and while she may not have been the most entertaining heroine, I still enjoyed her journey immensely. I'm glad that there will be a part 2 to her story, because while she did come into her own by the end of the book her journey still feels incomplete to me. Besides, how can I not love the way she broke Naomi's fingers at the end of the book.

Simultaneously, I grab Naomi by her throat and knock the drink from her hands, capturing her fingers and bending them back until I feel them crack.

She said she was going to do it and she did. We love a woman who stands by her word

That BATSHIT CRAZY Ending ✦ - SPOILERS AHEAD - As I've mentioned TRAMP took me an entire month to get through. I decided to push through because, well, I be persistent like that ✨ 😉 However, I was expecting to give this book 2.5 to maybe 3 stars. I thought the beginning was excellent, but IMO the middle really dropped the ball. There just wasn't much going on and I was really bored with Talent and Lydia as a couple, but then. . .

MAFIA SHIT HAPPENED. ✨ Now normally I hate when books wait until the very end to throw in everything but the kitchen sink, however I actually didn't hate it here. I loved that Talent and his families law firm are randomly involved with the mafia. I loved that Lydia ended up in charge of Hush, and I thought it was so fun that the next book heavily implied that we'll find out more about this "mafia-associate" aspect of the Ridge family. . .at least, i'm hoping we will.

What the fuck does a family of private equity lawyers have in common with the mob?

Suffice it to say this random introduction of the mafia really worked for me! Usually it wouldn't but here. . .it did. Now I'm actually really excited for book 2, Harlot , because I'm hoping that we'll see Wilder and Camilla dealing with the fallout / big reveal from this book.

-ˏˋ What DIDN'T Work For Me ˎˊ-

Talent Ridge & the Romance ✦ AhhhhhHHHhhh. . .that awkward moment when you disliked the romance and the hero. . .

Yeah, so, I didn't really like the romance 🙈 I'm not sure why - okay i know why - but for whatever reason I just couldn't get into Talent and Lydia as a couple. Even separately I wasn't that interested in Talent, he was just kinda. . .there. I actually liked Lydia more when she wasn't hanging out with Talent, because like I mentioned earlier when Lydia hung out with Talent she became a completely different person. Meanwhile Talent, as a person, was just a bit. . .boring.

I think that might be due to a few things. First, other then being a lawyer and loving Lydia, who is Talent Ridge? What does he do for fun? Why did he fall in love with Lydia? Does he like being a lawyer? What is his relationship like with his family? How powerful of a guy is he? Basically I knew next to nothing about him other than he loves Lydia. Which great for Lydia but character wise it just makes him boring to read about.

“I’ll chase you, Lydia. I’ll always find you, and if I can’t, I know people who can.”

I don't always require it but in the case of TRAMP I would've liked to have had at least ONE chapter from Talent's POV. It would've given me better insight into his character and I would've been more invested in the romance. Then again maybe not. I say, "maybe not", because the romance was hampered by an EXTREME case of insta-love. Now I'm not going to completely shit on insta-love as a trope because I've read books where it works. However, for these two characters? no. Lydia as a character at the beginning of the book was withdrawn, untrusting, and aloof. And yet she meets Talent and BOOM -

The prince. Her prince, maybe. Could be? Perhaps.

Lydia is rethinking her whole life and the two of them are already halfway in love with each other. It felt a bit abrupt and I quickly lost interest in them as a couple. I wanted more of a push and pull between them. I wanted the exploration of what their relationship would've looked like if she continued to be an escort but was also with him. I wanted to see SOME emotion from Talent other than calm loving reassurance. Idk, that sounds like a weird thing to ask for but that's what I wanted.

“I’m not the man you think I am, Lydia. I don’t know how to explain it to you beyond that right now. What I can say is that I’m constantly surrounded by people, but I never feel seen unless I’m with you.”

Ultimately when it came to the romance I felt almost out of the loop and greatly confused at how things progressed so fast. As for Talent. . .he was fine. I think because the author was saving the for the end it forced her to keep Talent's full character hidden. Therefore, I'm hoping in part 2 of their story we'll be able to meet a different more exciting side of talent. hopefully 🤞

Escorts, Yay or Nay? ✦ I have to ask, what was TRAMP's stance on escorts / prostitution? I say that with complete seriousness. Honestly, I was really confused as to what TRAMP was trying to say about it. On the one hand it seemed like we were supposed to view it from an empowering sexually liberated angle. The women in the book clearly had autonomy and chose to be in the industry. AND, by the end of the book Lydia Personally, I don't think Lydia would've agreed to if she wasn't in favor of the industry. Yet throughout the book we can see that she really hates being an escort and the business as a whole. There are multiple instances of her saying things like this -

But to a person who lives an existence as isolated as me—a girl who rarely hears my real name out loud, spends my time in solitude, and the only person I consider family sells my body for a profit—a single text message carries a lot of weight.

And multiple times throughout the book we see her telling Camilla not to enter into the business. Sooooooo. . .which is it? Am I really supposed to happy when Lydia steps into ? Because the book (or at least Lydia) is clearly anti-escort throughout - yup that's right i answered my question - and it seems like Talent served as her "white knight" if you will. I mean Lydia seems plain old miserable about the fact that she's an escort, and it seems like the minute she fell in love with Talent she was ready to dip. Therefore, I'm curious about Camilla's story and am wondering if her views towards being an escort will be similar to Lydia's.

-ˏˋ My Final Thoughts ˎˊ-

As I get to the end of this review I'm realizing something. TRAMP is actually a stealth retelling of Cinderella. Seriously, you have Lydia stuck in a life she feels trapped in, she then meets Talent via Inez (fairy godmother anyone?) as we come to find out, and he ends up "rescuing" her from her predicament. Okay the comparison might not work, but I couldn't help but feel strong similarities between CINDERELLA and TRAMP . Overall, I'd say that while TRAMP isn't a perfect book, it is an enjoyable book. I really liked Lydia's character, I thought her journey of dealing with her grief was poignant and beautiful, and I loved the out of left field ending. While the romance and love interest didn't work for me I think it's probably a me thing. Due to that, I'd still recommend TRAMP , and I'm actually really looking forward to Camilla's book, HARLOT .

A gripping tale about the harshness of life and the will to survive by any means necessary. The heroine will live the only life she thought she could, until she meets the man that changes everything. He didn't save her, she saved herself with a little help.

The only life she ever knew. Raised by a junkie whore until the drugs finally stole her, she was more like her mother than she ever wanted to be. What's left to do at sixteen when you are all alone and have no where to go? She sold herself for pennies just to survive until she met the woman who would become her mentor and show her her worth.

Lydia Montgomery didn't exist. Only one person knew her real name. To her clients, she was a sexy woman with a generic name who fulfilled their every fantasy for a steep price tag. For exactly sixty minutes, they got a piece of what she was offering. Never anymore than she was willing to give. She lived her life strictly for her job, for one hour, six days a week.

Her life was cold with zero attachments. She wanted to be forgettable in every way, except for those sixty minutes when she had to make it memorable. This was the life she led to make a living and leave a childhood behind that was filled with poverty and stability.

One appointment would change her life. She was supposed to win over a new client to get more business, but they were both set up. He was nothing like she expected and to him she was a dream come true. The only problem was, he thought he was interviewing a new client for his law firm and she believed he was expecting their "date". Their first meeting may have been a fantasy come to life, but then it quickly came crashing down around them.

Talent Ridge was a very wealthy man from a prominent family. He had his own skeletons and once he realized what she was, he wasn't afraid of hers. He found her to be unforgettable and was willing to do whatever necessary to make her his.

Lydia will not make it easy on him. She is a creature of habit who never imagined a life beyond the one she has been living for the past eight years. Now that she has had her taste of Ridge, the life she pictured is changing.

This story is honest in it's telling of the life Lydia leads. She does not shy away from the truth. If anything, she tears herself down for the path she chose. Talent doesn't see her as a prostitute, he falls for the girl hiding behind the fancy dresses and perfect makeup. The tension between them just sizzles. Their passion for one another is tangible and irresistible. You'll get a girl who thinks she's unworthy of love and a guy who wants nothing more than to love her like she deserves. Talent delivers on the swoon because the man always knows the right words that Lydia needs to hear. The story is layered with Lydia's struggles and the secret that Talent is keeping.

I was drawn into Lydia's world and I enjoyed these characters and the start of this series. Talent is the man you drool over when he walks into a room, hoping you will get a piece of what he's offering. He was a good man with a complicated life. I will definitely be looking forward to the next book in the series. I feel like Lydia and Talent have more story to tell.

This is my first read by Mary Elizabeth and I can say with certainty that it will not be my last. Tramp was an addictive dive into the harsh world of Lydia and what she's going through. With every page I was drawn deeper into the story, watching her life unfold before me.

The suspense and angst had me hanging onto every word, and when I reached the end, wanted more. This is the first book in the Hush series, and I'm already looking forward to the next book.

What a beautifully written, angsty story that will most certainly have you wanting to throw your Kindle against the wall one minute, and melting the next. Both main characters will wrap you up in their heart-wrenching, steamy journey, and they won't let go!

A definite must read for me! Do it! One click, you will not be sorry!

This is a pretty smooth read. I read it quite fast. I was totally intrigued by Lydia a.k.a Cara and I was rooting for her.
I also liked Talent. He was nice and sexy and he also felt honest to me. Genuine.

Cara and Talent first encounter was soo good. Loved it. I got super excited to keep reading so that I can get more of this chemistry.... sadly I didn't get another taste of that.
The story started feeling a bit repetitive. I was like "Yes. Okay. I know Lydia's past, background...I get it!" I understood where she was coming from the first half of the book. STOP hammering. LOL

The last 10% of the book took a turn. It got interesting. Building up for the next books.

By the author: MARY ELIZABETH
BOOK #1 OF THE HUSH SERIES.
CAN BE READ AS A STANDALONE.
FIRST-PERSON - SINGLE PERSPECTIVE.
MY RATING: 5 STARS.

This was a compelling, addictive, inspiring yet heartbreaking story from the perspective of an escort and her tragic past which shapes the woman she is now.

Lydia was the type of heroine that just takes over the whole story with her presence....she was a fierce, strong, independent, awe-inspiring character which demands our respect even with her profession. I love her character to the fullest...even more than I loved Talent and boy did that man ones out hotness. One of the heirs of the greatest family in the city falling for an escort requires boldness and Courage...and Talent was the epitome of the book boyfriend who will just overcome any walls to reach the heart of the woman he loves.

But there is something Talent is hiding...and maybe it's worse than the secret Lydia hides from the world that she sells her body willingly...Will that secret ruin them or will it grow hope for them...

Overall, this was a start of an addictive series with so much suspense and feels...a total heartbreaking past and the strong personality the characters portrayed...really changed the way I viewed prostitutes...a beautifully crafted story with a well deeply exquisite meaning.

Lydia is an escort and a product of her upbringing. She meets Talent, a high-powered attorney who hails from an influential family. The two couldn’t be more polar opposite. You would never know the secrets and dysfunction simmering under their perfected crafted facades. Is Lydia going to settle down? Will Talent’s truths lead to the beginning or the end of his relationship with Lydia.

Mary Elizabeth takes the “meet-cute” to whole another level. There isn’t anything cute about how Lydia and Talent meet. It’s downright sexy. Tramp is equally addictive and unputdownable. I can’t wait to read the other books in the interconnected series!!!

***AVAILABLE NOW***

4.5 STARS

I absolutely loved this world and these characters. It is unlike anything I’ve read in the romance world, and, as it follows high end escorts, it won’t be everyone’s cup of tea.

However, I loved Lydia. Seeing her evolve as a result of her love with Talent, seeing who she became as a result of her trauma, and seeing her be confident in who she was made her incredibly likable for me as a heroine.

Talent is an all consuming force. I fell for his charm just like Lydia. I loved the way he loved her, full stop, no conditions.

A lot happens at the end of the book, as the story focuses mainly on the evolution of Lydia’s character, but I loved the writing and the overall concept is this series.

I’m going to be immediately diving into Harlot, which comes out next week!

I wanted to like this book so much but it just wasn’t it. The first chapters are really good and got me hooked on the story but once I reached the 50% mark it got boring and the author dragged the story a lot. Then the ending was so rushed that when I finished it I was like: that’s it? All of that for just to end in 5 pages?. So yeah, didn’t liked it and won’t be reading the next 2 books of this series 😭

Am i the only one who thinks this book is weirdly tame considering the main character is a escort? Or are my comparisons just really depraved? Anyway, I enjoyed how enthralled the hero was with our heroine right out the gate and how he didn’t give up on her- and I’m a sucker for a story line that involves the main character breaking down their walls from grief/trauma. It has a decent plot and the romance was good, but the ending felt unfinished and I guess that has to do with the fact that it’s leading into a series. I just don’t enjoy when it’s a “series” but the characters switch throughout it ? I don’t like reading about other couples in the same social circles. Lydia is a really great character. She’s a strong bad ass woman, so I would like to see her story be finished before someone else’s- but whatever it’s very common and I’m just weird with my preferences.

I loved this book oh so much.

Talent Ridge. This man was addicting from start to finish. I am head over heels in love with him. Lydia is a fierce character that I grew to love more and more.

To sum it up, Lydia works for a “lavish” escort service. She’s the best for a reason. She had a troubling childhood which left her with nothing and no one. Without giving to much away she meets successful lawyer Talent Ridge. He and his family own the top lawyer company in the city. There first meeting is what changes everything.

Talent, I swear I will be dreaming of this devoted, beautiful man, till forever.

This story brings the angst, sexiness, and all
Around lyrical writing that brings together a Mary Elizabeth book. I devoured this book at 12 AM and haven’t been able to think of much else since then. I cannot wait to see what-else Mary has in store for us. This story was such a rush of heat and butterflies all in one. Definite, must read.

I was ready to give this 5 stars but after the 60% it started to drag on and I just found out at the end that it's not a standalone🤡🤡🤡 there's a 3rd book with our main couple. I'm pissed.

Tramp is the start of Mary's next series and she does not hold back. This book was more than I anticipated and that made me love it even more

Lydia is a high-end escort; a tramp in Grand Haven. But she's got her one set of rules and she refuses to budge from her routine.

Talent is one of Grand Haven's most eligible bachelors and one of many prominent men.

Lydia is sent to entertain Talent, something that is outside her usual schedule. However, what makes things even more interesting is that Talent was unaware of who Lydia is. And that sends both on a path neither could have predicted.

I won't go into many details about his book because that is what made this book come to life. Even the smallest details, gave this story another layer and more depth to the characters.

Getting to know Lydia and her past, sheds a lot of light on where she is now and why she operates the way she does. She is very cold and closed off. However, as the reader, you find yourself understanding why.

Talent had no problems holding back on how he felt towards Lydia. However, he himself has his own secrets. He's not as pure as everyone thinks.

The passion and intense connection between Lydia and Talent set these pages on fire, even if it was just a look or a touch. I could not get enough of them.

I am quite intrigued on how things will continue in the next book. I enjoyed the added suspense that Mary weaved into this story. She delivered just right amount of puzzle pieces to keep things enticing and readers right at the edge.

Tramp is an intriguing read that flows at a beautiful pace with characters you will enjoy. I am so ready for the next book.

In this story we follow Lydia Montgomery and her endeavors as Grand Havens highest paid escort.
She’s cold (potentially one of the coldest I’ve ever read), detached, cunning, assertive and overall, just not someone I’d never want to mess with. She has rules she never breaks and a schedule she never changes. Up until meeting Talent nothing seemed to phase her but even then, she remained stand offish.
Her backstory is heartbreaking but I think that’s what really got me to really root for her. Seeing her slowly start to value her internal self again made me so happy.

I loved her relationship with Talent, although emotionally fast paced it came across so naturally.
He’s not at all what I was expecting either aka sweet and super caring. The way he helps Lydia rediscover herself by simply being consistent and present stood out so much to me.
I’m so relieved we get another book from this couple because just as things start to really pick up it ended.
I can’t wait.

The pacing in this book was immaculate, genuinely one of the best I’ve read in a long time. I was invested in every page and was sad when it was over. Just so so so so great.

Definitely one of my favourite reads this year. Can a book be sultry? Cause I feel like this was.

Tramp was my first Mary Elizabeth novel and it did not disappoint! The blurb sounded so amazing for the Hush series that I knew I needed to take a chance on it and I’m so glad that I did.

Lydia Montgomery is everything I love about a strong heroine. And that’s what she was, her own hero. Lydia was born to less than ideal circumstances, the daughter or a stripper/prostitute, never having a stable home or environment around her. When she eventually meets Ines, she finds a sort of mother figure, if your mother figure is really your pimp. Lydia becomes the most expensive call girl in the city, becoming someone only her mother could have dream of becoming herself. She made her own rules and needed nothing or no one. That is until fate lands her in Talent Ridge’s office. Sexy lawyer Talent, had no idea who the beauty was that came into her office, but he knew she was different and wanted her in his life, regardless of how complicated either of their lives are. Knowing Lydia’s profession, and that many of her clients run in his own circle, Talent and Lydia have their own obstacles to over come both together and individually, which of course led to this story taking turns I didn’t see coming, and lots of steam 🔥

This story was so well written and moved so perfectly, that before I knew it I was done with book in almost one sitting. If you’re looking for a great story, with a kind of sordid storyline, and a leading female who waits for no one to rescue her, then this one is for you. The secondary characters had me just as interest and I can’t wait to more of them in the second book, Harlot and the eventual second part of Lydia and Talent’s story in Criminal!
