Mary Elizabeth was born and raised in Southern California. She is a wife, mother of four beautiful children, and dog tamer to one enthusiastic Pit Bull and a prissy Chihuahua. She's a hairstylist by day but contemporary fiction, new adult author by night.

Mary can often be found finger twirling her hair and chewing on a stick of licorice while writing and rewriting a sentence over and over until it's perfect. She discovered her talent for tale-telling accidentally, but literature is in her chokehold. And she's not letting go until every story is told.

"The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure."--Jeremiah 17:9

TRAMP IS LIVE

TRAMP IS LIVE!
TRAMP was written one sentence at a time, while I suffered through a two-year writer’s block. I wrote through my father-in-law's death, during a global pandemic, a blood transfusion, and surgery.
TRAMP is about a woman going head to head with her emotions. If that isn’t life imitating art, I don’t know what is. Lydia Montgomery is the best character I’ve ever written. I am confident Read more of this blog post »

“Because love is a lot of things, but above all, love is what we make it. And we’ll make this never ending.”
Mary Elizabeth, Innocents

“Don’t you get it, baby?”
“What’s there to get?” she asks.
“That I love you.”
“Well, you have a shitty way of showing it.
I smirk. “That doesn’t make it any less true.”
Mary Elizabeth, Innocents

“We’re attached in ways I can’t comprehend. While everyone else expects me to fuck up … she just loves me. And I’m reckless enough to let her.

She’s my softer side, and I’m her motherfucking monster.”
Mary Elizabeth, Innocents

“There is no better taste than this: someone else’s laughter in your mouth.”
Maggie Stiefvater, Forever

“My third best friend was an author who did not know I existed.”
John Green, The Fault in Our Stars

“I'm in love with you," he said quietly.

"Augustus," I said.

"I am," he said. He was staring at me, and I could see the corners of his eyes crinkling. "I'm in love with you, and I'm not in the business of denying myself the simple pleasure of saying true things. I'm in love with you, and I know that love is just a shout into the void, and that oblivion is inevitable, and that we're all doomed and that there will come a day when all our labor has been returned to dust, and I know the sun will swallow the only earth we'll ever have, and I am in love with you.”
John Green, The Fault in Our Stars

“The pleasure of remembering had been taken from me, because there was no longer anyone to remember with. It felt like losing your co-rememberer meant losing the memory itself, as if the things we'd done were less real and important than they had been hours before.”
John Green, The Fault in Our Stars

“Sometimes, you read a book and it fills you with this weird evangelical zeal, and you become convinced that the shattered world will never be put back together unless and until all living humans read the book.”
John Green, The Fault in Our Stars

Aly Hernandez I just can't get enough of you writing, woman! You are a true artist. So bloody brilliant!! Thank you for sharing your gift with us. I have never read any book of any type that has haunted me and stuck with me as Dusty has. I wish I could share it with the whole world so that more people could be ripped open and left raw and wanting more just like I have.

Mistress Just stopping by to say that no matter what book I read, nothing compares to Dusty. That book is pure brilliance! I have officially been ruined for all other books.
