I have read nearly all of the books in the ‘Dublin Murder mystery’ series and this is my favourite one by far. It is as if Keogh’s writing just continues to get stronger and stronger.

The familiar faces of West and Andrews return with a gruesome crime to solve. Discovering a dead body strung up in a church leads to questions about a stolen identity, a previous rape case and has West scratching his head for answers. This is a book you could easily read as a stand-alone however, the recurring story of a boy killed by a driver continues throughout them all. In my opinion, you can only get the true flavour of these stories if you have read the predecessors, and preferably in the right order too.

What made this book so interesting and gripping was the plot development. It had me gripped from the beginning. Initially, I was concerned that Keogh would make this a mercy killing, using the symbol of the church to create a story that has been done before. However, the other outside elements meant this was more intriguing. Although I had guessed very early on who the key perpetrator was, I really enjoyed seeing how West and his team unravelled this complex case.

Once again, West’s partner, Edel, continued to annoy me. I find her so meddling and irritating! I guess she is not going anywhere any time soon but, I wish Keogh would reduce her page-time even more. In comparison to the other stories, she does have a lesser role, but this was still too much for me. She is like an itch I cannot scratch so I hope Keogh does not intend to give her more plot-time if there are more books to come in this series.

The Dublin setting again was a warming touch because I have such lovely memories from visiting this fantastic city. West is out and about in this book, and I liked all the geographical references. I think it made the book more vivid for me.

This is easily the best book for me in the series. I wonder if Keogh can continue with the stories and hope the next one is just as unique and entertaining. All in all, it’s another example of brilliant writing from a brilliant writer.

With thanks to Bloodhound books for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

No Crime Forgotten is the fifth instalment in the Detective Sergeant Garda Mike West series, set in Dublin, Ireland, and is another great addition to a superb series. Each book has a self-contained plot, so it isn't necessary to have read the preceding instalments before diving into this one and plenty of background is given on the lives of the recurring characters to bring you up to speed. West is back at Foxrock Garda station when he and partner Garda Andrews are assigned to attend St Monica’s church where Joe Ryan, the church’s sacristan, is flustered and rocked to his core after finding a body suspended from the altar. It appears he was murdered elsewhere and placed in the Catholic Church later, possibly as some sort of warning message. The police take his fingerprints in order to try to identify him, and it turns out he is known to the authorities. It appears to be Ian Moore, a recently released prisoner who had been incarcerated for rape. The police manage to reach his family to tell them the bad news but after visiting his parents in Dun Laoghaire both the police and family are baffled.

Ian Moore turns out not to be the victim as he is happily living abroad in Dubai and his family have not long spoken to him via Skype. They come to the conclusion that his identity has been stolen and are back to square one not knowing who the dead man is. With pressure coming from both the police and the church, the race is on to solve this complicated case as soon as possible. This is an exciting captivating and thrilling read which sees Mike back with a bang. I really love the relationship between Mike and Edel, and they are such an effective team even though Mike always seems to attract complex cases. There are secrets, lies, betrayal and deception throughout and as the story unravels the twists just keep coming. It's a gripping tale of revenge and moves at a quick pace before the tension is ratcheted up culminating in a great ending. I feel the Garda West series is so underrated, and I'm not sure why. This is an easy, enjoyable and thoroughly entertaining thriller. I look forward to book six. Highly recommended. Many thanks to Bloodhound Books for an ARC.

Detective Garda Mike West is back with his partner and team when a body is found in a local church.

When fingerprints are taken, they come back as belonging to Ian Moore, recently released from prison. Revenge seems like the most likely motive, but the case takes an unexpected twist.

Once again, this author has drawn me in from the very beginning with an intricate plot and not-to-be forgotten players. There are plenty of suspects to follow while West and his team diligently question each and every one. I enjoy the blend of professional and personal ..and in this case, West's girlfriend plays a big part in solving this case.

Many thanks to the author / Bloodhound Books for the digital copy of this police procedural. Read and reviewed voluntarily, opinions expressed here are unbiased and entirely my own.

NO CRIME FORGOTTEN is the fifth book, a psychological Crime/Mystery thriller in the Garda West Series by best-selling author Valerie Keogh. Although this is the first book in this series that I have read, it is easily read as standalone as the author provides adequate background information, to follow. The Garda West series is set in Dublin where Garda Sergeant Mike West battles a series of crimes.

The Books in The Series Include:
BOOK 1
No Simple Death
BOOK 2
No Obvious Cause
BOOK 3
No Past Forgiven
BOOK 4
No Memory Lost

BOOK 5
No Crime Forgotten

Detective Garda Sergeant Mike West and his partner, Detective Garda Peter Andrews respond to an emergency call from St Monica’s church and discover a dead body suspended over the central aisle in front of the altar.

Upon further investigation, victim had been killed elsewhere, due to lack of blood at the scene. With no sign of a break-in, the killer must have been hiding somewhere inside the church.

The police confirm that the victim was killed in one of the confession boxes. They had reason to believe that someone sat in the priest’s box and sprayed a sedative through the mesh, rendering the victim unconscious. There is sufficient blood in the box to indicate he was killed there.

The victim’s fingerprints show that the man is Ian Moore, recently released from prison after serving time for rape. Revenge seems like the obvious motive for his murder but the list of suspects grows as the case takes an unexpected twist.

Why did the perpetrator target this church?

When West went to notify the victim’s parents, they were confused because their son is alive, an engineer working in Dubai. They just spoke to him via Skype a few hours ago. Could this be a case of identity theft? Why? How did someone get their hands-on Ian Moore’s ID?

With pressure from archbishops, bishops, priests and Inspector Morrison to get the case solved quickly - West and his team must speed up their act to solve the murder.

This is a gripping crime thriller with a great ending. Love the relationship between West and his love, Edel.

Many thanks to the author, and Bloodhound Books for my digital copy.

This is a great read and is part of the Dublin Murder Mysteries series.
Detective Garda Sergeant Mike West and his team are called to a church where a man’s body has been suspended above the altar.
They work out who he is but when they tell his family they look confused as they’ve just spoken to him by Skype in Dubai.
It seems the victim has stolen someone’s identity, but why?
West and the team are struggling to get to the bottom of this and it’s West’s other half that provides a suggestion that gives them a fighting chance of finding the killer.
This is a gripping crime thriller with a great ending.
Thanks to Bloodhound Books for the opportunity to read this book.

No Crime Forgotten - Valerie Keogh

A man is found horrifically murdered in a church. The Irish Guarda have a massive task on their hands trying to unravel the mystery, whilst also being sensitive to the church.

The more they investigate the more questions seem to appear, fewer answers.
This is a cleverly written story, it leads you slowly along all the clues as they come in and I had no idea what happened until it was revealed.

This is the first of Valeries books ive read and feel I may understand more about Edel if I'd read the previous ones but it didn't affect the enjoyment of this is any way.

I will certainly be picking up more of Valeries books in future.

I have already thoroughly enjoyed the first four excellent books in this series, and book five does not disappoint! Set in the Foxrock suburb of Dublin, Detective Garda Sergeant Mike West and his partner Garda Peter Andrews are called to nearby St. Monica’s church by a very distraught sacristan. They find a dead man, his body strung up on a cross hanging from the rafters and looking like a terrible parody of the corpus behind it. The man is quickly identified as a rapist just released from prison, so it looks like there will be no shortage of people wanting to take their revenge or retribution on this sinner, but as they start their investigation the whole case turns on itself. One clue leads on to another, but the detectives seem to be collecting more questions than answers as they search for whoever is playing God. They know that finding that one small piece of the jigsaw will mean everything else will fall into place for them. Now they just need to find it….
It was nice to see more involvement of some of the other Gardai detectives, namely Mick Allen, Mark Edwards, Seamus Baxter and Sam Jarvis, together with Garda Declan Foley, often borrowed from the robbery team. We even see some of their home lives this time. Mike's girlfriend, Edel, for once seems pretty happy with life, especially when she makes a firm decision about her writing. This woman has really been a complete nightmare for Mike during the year or so since they first met when she was a victim of crime. I have struggled to like her in previous books, probably as she can’t help sticking her nose in and having to be repeatedly rescued by Mike one way or another. In this book she was a lot steadier and more likeable, although she does still give Mike cause to worry at times! Mother Morrison is again a mitherer, not surprising as he fears the pressure of the entire Catholic clergy coming down on him and the case looks like it will be a difficult and drawn out affair. Once again the story is well written with a clever plot and great characters that are easy to take to and who have grown familiar as the series has progressed. There is now quite a lot of history that gets referred to and so, whilst the books are very enjoyable on their own, I would suggest reading them to order to get the most out of the series. I certainly hope there will be more to come! 5*

Detective Garda Sergeant Mike West and Edel are back in this fifth instalment in The Dublin Murder Mystery series and I could not be more excited! This series is up there as one of the best I have read and each book that is released, cements my view more and more.

The plot for No Crime Forgotten is intriguing, the pace fast and as always, the writing is flawless. Valerie Keogh has crafted another thrilling read full of twists and turns to keep you on your toes, keeps you guessing and those pages on the Kindle flicking!

Over the course of the series, Valerie Keogh has done such a superb job with the development of Detective Garda Sergeant Mike West, Edel and the recurring cast. You can tell that she really cares for these characters, which in turn has you also feeling the same way towards them.

You can always count on Valerie Keogh to deliver a thrilling story whether she is writing in the psychological thriller genre or the crime thriller genre and No Crime Forgotten is no exception. What is also great about this series, there is also the romance element between Mike and Edel which does break up more of the darker side of things, but is not overdone.

No Crime Forgotten is another brilliant addition to the series which just keeps going from strength to strength. It is gripping, intense and whist it can be read as a standalone, I do recommend you reading the other books in the series. Congratulations on another cracking read Valerie Keogh and I look forward to what you come up with next.

Another great book from one of my favourite authors.

My two favourite fictional characters Mike and Edel are back, with a plethora of great characters, and a great storyline, you can he assured that this is a book that will keep you guessing.

This is the latest in the Dublin series and it certainly didn’t disappoint. It can be a good standalone read, but to really appreciate this latest installment I would highly recommend that you read the others in the series if you haven’t already.

In No Crime Forgotten, it is just that... It’s payback time for someone who thought he’d gotten away with something when he was a teenager.
But there is so much more to this story that needs solving.
Mike being still one of the best detective gardi in Dublin, is as always determined to get his man, and with “his other half” Edel at his side; she as always is “doing her bit”, you can be sure this latest crime will not go unsolved.

With the twists and turns that will keep you gripped from the first chapter to the last, makes this a fantastic read.

Loved the ending, but something tells me with Mike and Edel’s history, nothing is going to go to plan.

Book Five D.S. Garda Mike West is back
West and Edel Johnson have survived and are grown stronger.
Foxrock Garda Station have been sent out to St Monica's church, West and Andrews, to a body that was killed elsewhere and brought to the catholic church, this isn't good and someone wanted to make a point. Some anti-religious protect? What a nightmare, and someone must have been inside when it was shut up for the night.
I can see a lot of twists and turns that will unfold along the way while reading this book. The victim is named as Ian Moore with four clerymen who live together to be the first to question. with Moore's history there's a lot that needs to be solved, so many twists so many that will leave you gasping. Mike West always seems to attract complicated cases and this one is no exception for the reader's.
Oh my word what can I say this is another best seller, I loved it all, and was definitely kept guessing, and a treat is instore, with what I hope is a perfect ending but the answer will be revealed in book six. Cannot wait loved it all.

Book 5 in the Dublin Mystery series and I am still loving the books.

This time Detective Guarda Sergeant Mike West and his team are investigating the body of a young man, found in a church, tied to a cross. Finding that he had recently been released from prison, having served a short time for rape, they start looking at his victim. But was that too obvious?

Edel, Mike’s partner, is now happily working on her writing, her first novel has been self published, but isn’t doing well. But then she gets involved in Mike’s case...

I really enjoy Valerie Keogh’s writing and there is always some sort of twist to it that I don’t figure out until the end. If you like a really well written crime procedural book with a bit of romance thrown in for good measure this is the one for you.

A solid 5* from me.

Overall 4.5*
When the Guardai West and Andrews are called out to an horrific killing in a local church, they are unaware of how far reaching this murder will stretch especially when the victim is not who he appears to be. In book 5 of this captivating series, there may not be quite as much excitement as there has been in the previous stories, however there are still lots going on and for me the book felt as though the team, including their personal lives, were gathering their energies. Lots of twists and turns, and for once Edel doesn't get into too much trouble and an ending which you may have expected if you have read the other books. It can be read as a standalone however i would recommend reading the whole series.

No Crime Forgotten is the latest from Valerie Keogh's Dublin murders. The rest of the series is very good and this book is no exception. It's full of mystery and intrigue and is an enthralling read. The scene is set right from the outset in chapter one when a man is brutally murdered in a church. This proves to be a very complicated case for Garda Detective Sergeant Mike West and his team.

As usual with this author you are left guessing until the end as to who is guilty of what. It's a fabulously written book and one which is very easily read. As always in this series West's girlfriend Edel Johnson has valuable input into the storyline as the author mixes police life with private life really well.

Thank you to Bloodhound Books for the ARC which I've reviewed voluntarily

Once again I chose a book that is part of a series that I haven’t previously read. I understand it’s not a pre-requisite to read them in order but I prefer to do just that rather than read one at random as a stand-alone novel. This was an easy read with some twists and interesting characters but I wasn’t wowed. A murder mystery begins when a man recently released from prison is found gruesomely murdered in a church near Dublin. There are some psychological insights, red herrings and believable characters. I can see this as a successful TV series and would probably have given it another star if I'd read the earlier books in the series first. Note to self: Read the blurbs more closely to identify books that are in a series ;-)

If Mike was hoping for a quiet life, after his recent adventures and cases he was seriously unlucky. Finding Edel was the best think to happen recently, but unfortunately his caseload wasn’t getting any easier. No straight forward cases for him and his team. I love the relationship between Mike and Edel, and hopefully the next book won’t be too far away as there’s a question that needs answering. There are lots of twists in the book as one case merges with another. Valerie has done it again, yet another 5star read.

Although this is not the first time I have read Valerie Keogh, it is my first encounter with her Dublin Murder series and very enjoyable it was! However, it left me wishing that I had started the series at the beginning as, although it can be read as a standalone, there are several references to past events which are tantalising but not fully explained. This is a fascinating story with good characters and an intriguing plot involving the priesthood, false identity, murder and revenge. It held my interest throughout.

Sooo good! I have been following this series and every time a new book comes out it doesn't disappoint. The characters are so well rounded, interesting and completely believable. West and his partner Andrews make this series work brilliantly. A clever and intriguing plot as always, and when you throw Edel into the mix (my goodness she is a magnet to wrong doings) you know the investigation is going to get....complicated! An exciting read that well, erm, kinda...heck no spoilers, it was, erm. Oh just read it! Looking forward to book six.

This is book five in The Dublin Murder Mysteries series. Although I’ve not read the previous books I really enjoyed this story.

Detective Garda Sergeant Mike West and his team have a big case on their hands when a body is found hanging from the beams of a church.

I thought this was a well thought out story with a great plot. I’ll definitely be reading the previous books to get more of DS Mike West.

This is not my first book by this author but it ranks right up there as one of my favorites by her. This is a story that is full of action and suspense. This is an engaging, hard to put down story that has twists and turns that left me on the edge of my seat. I had no problems connecting with the characters as they brought the story to life. They made great characters that had me turning pages as the story was that easy to read. I highly recommend this book and this author.

I have submitted this review after listening to the audiobook of this title (Audible Membership)

A gruesome discovery of a body strung up in the same pose as the crucifixion, with in a local church starting the most baffling of cases yet for Detective Garda Sgt West and his police investigation squad.
Of course, other ongoing cases are still causing problems, and altogether, it's a frustrating period for those who are the enforcers of the laws of Ireland.

Another cracking mystery.

The author has done it again with the way two totally unrelated plots are slowly intertwined into one. And the result brings us an interesting conclusion especially when the church has been involved.
Mike and Edel have their relationship going from strength to strength with a couple of changes being made. By now, having read the previous stories, you are really feeling part of the team.

Thoroughly Enjoyable.

My favorite book in this engaging series. The characters are well developed and we follow them as they try to solve an intricate and puzzling murder. Keogh skillfully weaves the narrative as the list of suspects are revealed. Recommend this book and can be read as a stand alone but much more enjoyable to read the books in order.

Valerie Keogh's books get better and better! Absolutely loved this book and the 4th in the Dublin Murder Mystery series. A dead body discovered suspended in the church. The list of suspects is long as the victim was recently released from prison, will Garda West be on a wild goose chase to catch the killer???

Quite easily the best book in the series and I was torn between wanting to finish it and not wanting it to be the end as I thought this was the last ever book but I have seen there is a sixth book planned. Valerie Is one of the newer authors that I have discovered recently and I flew through reading this series. She will be definitely on my list of go to authors.

I listened to the audiobook. The narrator spoke like a funeral home director, a slow monotone with scarcely any animation. The story had an interesting plot, a man is found murdered in a church. Who did it and why? The suspects were many and there were a couple of subplots woven in. By the time I got the answers, I didn’t care. This novel wasn’t thrilling or exciting.

Another great story in the Dublin Murder mysteries series featuring Cards Sergeant West and his team. Not forgetting his partner Edel who seems to get embroiled in his cases. I hope that there are a lot more to come in this series.

Satisfyingly puzzling. A seemingly insoluble case which only gets more difficult the more the detectives do eventually discover, thank goodness for nosiness. There are surprises here, amongst them one which I thought I knew but didn’t fully realise and one which I should have seen but didn’t.

I haven't read any other books in this series, so I felt like I was missing context. The audiobook production didn't help, since it sounded like the narrator was whispering and I had a hard time understanding some parts. OK, but it didn't make me rush to get the rest of the novels.
