Rate this book
If you want to age gracefully and comfortably, you need to prepare.

After the age of 50, our lean muscle mass starts to shrink by 1 to 2 percent every year. Over time, that muscle loss increases our risk of injury from falls and accidents, and it can seriously reduce our independence.

What if you could reclaim your strength, balance, and energy faster than you ever thought possible? What if you had a field-tested approach to exercise that takes only six minutes, twice a day ... and what if you could see dramatic results in just 15 days?

In this book, you will

A straightforward, science-based exercise plan that only takes six minutes, twice a day and produces consistent strengthening and mobility improvements.

Three simple bodyweight exercises that effectively target the muscle groups you need to stay active, prevent falls, and remain independent.

How to design workouts at home that don't rely on complicated equipment.

The seven most important strategies for benefiting from regular workouts.

Practical advice and guidance for family members and caregivers helping aging adults with exercise.

The exercise program in this book has been tested with thousands of seniors and older adults just like you. It has helped all of them take back parts of their lives they might have lost.

It doesn't matter if you're 60 or 100 years old, if your health is perfect or imperfect, or if you're walking miles every day or struggling just to get up from a chair. 6-Minute Fitness at 60+ will show you how to transform your body and your life, no matter your current state of health and fitness.

Might try this. Looks easy. But there is too much explanation over and over again and some new age thinking. Just give me a simple explanation and the exercises! But there are great tips for caregivers.

Comprehensive and Actionable

The title captured my attention immediately. The rich content laying out the philosophy behind the exercises exceeded my expectations. Along with the images of exercises and work plans organized in table format, the author — a professional in his field — provided Key Takeaways and Action Steps. My thanks to Mr. Su for an excellent and timely work that could not be more helpful as we quarantine at home during the pandemic. I recommend this book with enthusiasm.

Ok I am not 60+ but when I saw this book on Amazon at a discounted rate I thought I would get it to see if I can incorporate these exercises into my life. I have some chronic pain issues that often get worse when I overdo it with exercise so I thought maybe these exercises would work better for me.

The book is short and an easy read. I haven’t followed the program as recommended. I should have started at level 3 but decided to just start at level 1 and move up as I developed more strength. I also have just been doing them once a day with my other PT exercises and some yoga instead of twice but I might try to increase that to twice a day if I can.

The book is quite repetitive but it ‘s easy to skim over those repeats once you see the format of the book.

The world of cryptocurrency is a complex and volatile realm, where fortunes can be made and lost in the blink of an eye. As an investor, I approached Bitcoin with a mix of caution and optimism, only to fall victim to a sophisticated scam orchestrated by cunning cybercriminals. Their plan was meticulously crafted, complete with polished contracts, a façade of legitimacy, and a chorus of fake investors singing the venture's praises. Lured by the promise of exponential returns, I invested my capital, only to watch it disappear into the digital ether.

The aftermath was a painful blend of helplessness and regret, as I struggled to come to terms with the loss. However, in the midst of despair, I discovered a glimmer of hope: GRAYWARE TECH SERVICE. This specialized service offered a beacon of light in the darkest of times, providing a chance to recover lost funds and restore a sense of justice. With their expertise and guidance, I was able to navigate the complex and often treacherous landscape of cryptocurrency fraud, and ultimately reclaim a significant portion of my losses.

The experience served as a stark reminder of the importance of vigilance and caution in the world of cryptocurrency. As the threat of fraud continues to loom large, it is essential for investors to remain informed and alert, taking steps to protect themselves from the ever-evolving tactics of cybercriminals. By sharing my story, I hope to raise awareness about the dangers of cryptocurrency scams and the importance of seeking help from reputable services like GRAYWARE TECH SERVICE. In the end, it is a cautionary tale of the importance of being proactive and prepared in the face of uncertainty, and the value of seeking assistance from trusted experts in the field. I picked up 6-Minute Fitness at 60+ because I wanted something simple that didn’t feel overwhelming. The routine in the book is actually very realistic short, structured, and easy to follow without fancy equipment. What surprised me most is how much consistency matters. Even just a few minutes a day made my balance and general energy feel more stable. While I was focusing on improving recovery and sleep alongside the exercises, I started reading about ibutamoren and how some people use it to support their wellness routines. I wanted clear information rather than hype, so I looked around and ended up finding detailed product descriptions here ibutamoren for sale! What I really appreciated was the transparency: ingredients, labeling, no vague claims. It helped me understand what I was looking at and make decisions carefully and consciously, not blindly. That clarity alone took away a lot of guesswork.

Efficient exercises to keep old timers young in 6 mins/day

The writer assigns three exercises based on your fitness level. Level one is for those who can’t stand and balance well. The 3 exercises for lower body muscles can be done in bed.
Level two is for those who can stand but may need support or balance help. Three different exercises for lower body are provided.
Level three is for normal, active adults. Three new exercises are carefully described, along with ways to make the exercises easier to harder.
Level four is upper body strength exercises .. just a few good ones. Again these are described carefully and in detail so you have perfect form.
I found this a perfect way to get ready for life after the Pandemic. The author says I will see results in 15 days.

Dr Su writes in a style that gives you confidence in his recommendation. For example, walking not only doesn't build muscle mass but can be detrimental to our health as we get older. Falling is a major cause of death for the elderly, so your fitness "diet" needs to include some strength training, not just walking.
The good news is that you can do all of this at home using techniques to add new habits to existing ones (for example, "before lunch, I will exercise") combined with the Big Three—the three most critical exercises, which will be customized to your current level of ability.
I'm about 1/2 way through this book and I'm going for level two, so watch my progress over the next fifteen days starting Sept 1st, 2024.

What I was looking for.

I had given up hope of ever being strong enough to get up off the couch without my hands and stairs were scary at times.
This book was the antidote. As a physical therapist, the author knows how to approach the muscle loss of aging and how to inspire. He has downloadable and printable exercise graphs and a recording of a visualization that really helps. He has specific levels to begin with given an individual’s capacity. It is simple and it is do able. Plus his concept of stacking habits has allowed me to overcome my resistance. I know with this progressive program, I will be able to get up off the floor with ease. Thank you.

Great beginner information

While most of these exercises were basic for me, they are a great jumping off point. Having had 2 hip replacements, shoulder reconstruction, ongoing back issues, and knees that are ‘bone on bone’ I come with my own set of challenges. I learned many of these exercises in physical therapy, but the information on post menopausal muscle development etc was super helpful.

Besides, it’s always good to go back to basics when you’re not feeling well, or just plain fatigued. Here exercises are great on those days when you can’t workout, but you need to move!

As a grandfather of six rambunctious boys and one two-year-old girl, (who's a biter). I can safely say that I, seventy-four-year-old Norris Greenstone, despise this wretched book! After I did the “pelvic push” twice, I began to perspire, and my throat was parched! I headed to the shower to rinse myself and for a slurp of refreshing water. My legs were so weak that when I was applying my head and shoulders three-step dandruff shampoo, that I slipped and the product squirted everywhere! I was beyond infuriated. I sent several angry letters to the publishers of this book to no avail. I want justice! I want it now!

Great for everyone

I’ve been using these techniques and feel great! At 62 I wanted to gain strength and who new that in 6 minutes twice a day I could get so much stronger in a short period of time. There is a lot of information here that is interesting but not essential. The most important take away is the exercises themselves as revealed later in the book! If you must, skip to the back!!!! I love that three exercises could make such a dramatic improvement in my strength and balance! Thank you!

New Hope for older people!

I highly recommend the six minute fitness at 60+ exercises! I am very impressed that The author studied so hard to help older patients reach a greater level of physical fitness! As a former aerobics instructor, and as a 75-year-old, I am excited to find exercises that I can do quickly to improve my physical fitness. Outstanding book which I am sure will be welcomed with enthusiasm by other baby boomers! I

I think it will help

I just started this today and am very slow. I really believe this will help me. I have both back and hip issues and am moving very slowly at it. I am 65 and the beginner movements today felt good and I know that I have got to rebuild muscle and flexibility. I can do these and have a good outlook for the strength and flexibility that I can rebuild. I will take my time and spend longer on those that I need to. These are very doable.

No nonsense program

Easy read. Great advice. I'm mid sixties myself, and while I'm in better shape than many peers, I'm not the man I was at 50. I watched my dad degenerate from lack of activity, and although I realize I'm mortal, I have no intention of placidly wasting away. The program presented here is structured in a way that's clearly manageable by someone my age and health. And I fully intend to both follow it and recommend it to friends.

Senior Fitness Program Made Simple

I'm pretty active, so I started at Level 3. Levels 1 and 2 are for those that aren't so mobile. The program is well designed and effective. Motivation, scheduling, and other issues are addressed to help integrate the program into one's lifestyle. The exercises are explained well including pictures. I recommend this book for seniors seeking to improve their physical health.

Excellent starting point!

Just hit 60 a couple of weeks ago and decided I needed a change in my basically sedentary lifestyle. I picked up this book to help me get back on track without killing myself. Just finished reading the book and will be adjusting and starting the program on Monday. Looks like I can do most of the exercises and some really good advice included. I would recommend to anyone looking for a good starting point.

This was a quick and easy read and had some great nuggets. I love the workout approach of doing as many rounds as possible (AMRAP) in 6 minutes. However, since I’ll be 40 in 2026 it was a bit boring for regular workouts. I did like the suggestions and have taken that to incorporate this into my normal workout routine with different exercises. The title is also misleading. It since the recommendation is 6 minutes twice a day so it’s really 12 minute fitness.

ya just gotta do it!

Quick easy read. But powerful. Jonathan is positive and to the point. His recommendations are backed by solid research and doable!
But his program won’t work if you don’t do it!
This program is a great way to get back to exercising or to start for the first time.

Over 50, fat and female firefighter

After having a work-related head, neck, and brain injury I began losing my balance resulting in falls.
My hope is that this routine will strengthen the muscles needed to stop the falling turning them into trips which I can recover from all the while staying on my feet
I am encouraged after reading this book!

Helped me a lot!

I actually tried most of the exercises. I found Out I could not do them everyday but I did do them every other day until some other health issues came up. I do find that I can do more the day I exercise. The book is very easy to read and follow and I refer back to it all the time.

At 62 years old I found this information extremely helpful!

I am happy that this particular physical therapist decided to share his wisdom and experience through a book. I love that he includes videos and pictures to illustrate the exercises. I can’t wait to see how much better I’ll feel in the days to come. I highly recommend this book for your home library.

6-minute fitness for any age

Great set of exercises for anyone who is just wanting to start moving especially someone who is overweight and struggling to find a plan that works and is easy to stick to. Excellent explanation of the body and why these exercises will be all you need to get started. I do a lot of heavy lifting and love the exercises as my HIIT because I hate to run and jump rope.

Ok place to start

An ok place to start concerning taking care of yourself physically. A habit of some of the exercises presented here is just minimum to help forestall the physical decline many accept as just part of aging.

Worth the read.

There aren't many books on exercise for 60 years old. This is a fine one for people working with seniors or seniors working on their own. Covers some psychological and motivational aspects.

Same exercises as physical therapy for my back

Too much reading before the exercises are shown at the end book. The exercises are pretty much the same as what I've done with my physical therapy.

Didn't read all just skimmed book looking for helping hints.

Straightforward advice

The information in this book is direct and to the point. It also is easy to understand and convincing. I hate exercise but even I am now doing it twice a day; it's only 6 minutes at a time. I'm worth that.
