With exams safely behind them, Yu, Kurosaki-kun, and their friends are off on the class trip to Canada! On the plane, at Niagara Falls, a night out in Toronto... Kurosaki-kun's devilish teasing has gone global! When they meet his older brother Sakura's girlfriend, though, Yu can't help but notice how gentle her normally gruff boyfriend acts toward her. He might be having fun with this, but Yu's not about to let her man fall for any other woman!
I'm so impressed by how this series has morphed from Old School badness (enjoyable badness, but still) into a story where both characters are learning to talk to each other and listen in order to make their relationship work. Could have lived without the amnesia storyline from a few volumes back, but I honestly never expected this to rise so far above its initial volumes.
I devoured all 19 volumes of Defying Kurosaki-kun over the last week. This is a beautiful story of Yu and Haruto's relationship as it grows from nothing to sweet romance. Haruto's always been a loner except for Takumi who's been his only friend until Yu comes into his life. The story is about the relationship between Yu and Haruto but Takumi is such a intricate part of the story.
I really loved Yu as a character she's this bright ball of sunshine who's reinvented herself now that she's in high school and growing so much into this character you just cheer on. Haruto is cold and demanding in the beginning but we get to see him slowly start to grow as the series progresses. He builds friendships, reconnects to his family and he learns so show Yu how much she means to him.
I truly enjoyed the series even if I had a few moments where I wanted to reach through the book and stab Haruto for being stupid. it's a whirlwind sweet love story that I'm so sad to see ending. I wish that this series wouldn't have ended because I wanted more of Yu and Haruto's story. I wanted Takumi to find his happy ever after too. I do hope maybe one day we will get more. This is one of my top favorite series. Highly recommend if you are a fan of the grumpy/sunshine trope it fits really well. The artwork is beautifully done. I loved it so much the whole story.
This volume gave us Kurosaki being a considerate, cute, scheming, and unexpected all in one book. He’s also doing the exact opposite of what Yu told him to do so! Poor Yuchan cause she’s getting a full mode teasing boyfriend.
We can see that the reason Kuro is doing stuff just to get back at his brother and make him jealous. It's been hinted at the previous chapters but he does find it amusing that Yu is jealous too.
Love the extra chapter where they show drunk kurosaki and tsun kuro papa! Kurosaki is such a big baby! Also big bro Kuro is sleeping with another woman despite having a girlfriend waiting for him??! A pregnant girlfriend at that.
Welp my little romantic heart squealed with joy in this volume. The big class trip filled with opportunities for couples to get all adorable.... or they can cause a little trouble to help other couples figure their relationship out!
I really appreciate the pace Kuro and Yu are going. They are making great progress in how to show appreciation for the other. Kuro definitely keeps me on my toes with his reactions (which I find hilarious) I can't wait for volume 18!!
I love this series, but this episode was really hard to understand. Too many conversations were going on at the same time, especially in the beginning. It was difficult to understand who was saying certain dialogue. In fact, it took me several days to finish it, and I read 3 other books before I finished this one. I finally started understanding what was going on and only knocked one star off the rating. I can hardly wait for Vol. 18. I gave this episode 4 stars.
I enjoyed this volume so much! I do not want to spoil anything so I won't go into detail but I was so Happy & a tad shocked at the events in this one. I think all Defying Kurosaki-kun fans will love it too. As always the artwork is amazing & the story line is as well!
Tengo una violencia de genero dentro de mi ser que no se cuantos nuevos shoujos tendre que empezar pars olvidarme del… personaje masculino y femenino de esta obra. Como les gusta esto? No entiendo! Este volumen repunto con el pibe siendo un poco mas decente (un poco).
