As a Beta reader I am always excited to read a new installment from Tricia! Good Moon Rising made me fall even harder for this series. This is Jolie's story, where the real mermaids of Siren Island are coming into their own!
Each book has featured a woman with issues who meet their challenges head on sometimes with grace and style... others with "sheer dumb luck" LOL! With love, laughter and a wee bit of magick these wonderful souls have you cheering them on to their best selves and a life partner perfect for them! You can find a piece of yourself, in each character to identify with to tie you closer to the story.
What I found to calling to me about this book was the Ying/Yang of the two smitten, polar opposites. We have the gorgeous goddess Jolie who has gone through life knowing the power of her personality and beauty, yearning for a deeper understanding by the world of her full inner-self. Who then falls head-over-heels with the new guest of the Laughing Mermaid... the nerdy but handsome distracted professor Ted, who doesn't quite believe that he is worth her attention. (I'm picturing Harrison Ford in his classroom scene in the original Indian Jones!)
Each of them must grow past their inner self-doubt to challenge themselves to accept and realize what the other sees both inside and out to move forward and accept their epic love!
Take a vacation to Siren Island and find more that you could possibly have wished for!

This is Jolie's story and Ms. O'Malley has written a lovely romance for Jolie. It was interesting to get to see more of Jolie as Ms. O'Malley pealed back the layers to reveal Jolie's thoughts, feelings and insecurities as she fell in love with Dr. Macalister. I just love being on Siren Island and spending time with these wonderful characters. An enjoyable escape with humor, romance and magic.

Jolie is every man's dream where one look, one smile can freeze a man in his tracks. Dark hair, curvy with a sultry look, Jolie tends to move from one man to another until she meets Dr. Theodore Macalister, a handsome professor on the nerdy side and new guest at the Laughing Mermaid. Her world becomes uncertain, questioning her confidence and taking her into a journey of self discovery as she navigates new waters called Love!
Dr. Macalister, a bit scarred by his past as a bullied young man cannot believe a woman like Jolie could ever love someone like him and attempts to protect himself by employing her as an assistant in his research, thereby maintaining a professional relationship only (hmm, how is that going for you Dr.)
What makes this so entertaining is watching Jolie flounder a bit in trying to get his attention (which she is so not used to) but also experience her wonder in discovering she is so much more than looks! She has a magical way with words and a new world opens up to her as she becomes more confident in her intelligence and writing skills! She is coming into her own!
On the flip side, we get to know Dr. Macalister, experiencing his passion of mermaid lore, pure joy in exploring the ocean's underwater treasures and struggling with reconciling his professor's mind with magic truly being real! He also manages to bring a bit of his own magic to Jolie, Irma and Mirra (think winter)...
We also get an introduction to the magical world of mermaids, learning a bit more of their history, culture, customs and a glimpse into the Mermaids' underwater city!

Tricia’s latest instalment in her SIREN ISLAND SERIES delivers all that and so much more. Good Moon Rising once again brings us to Siren Island and the Laughing Mermaid’s enchanting Irma, Jolie and Mirra.
Jolie, the curvy, dark haired beauty, is a “love ‘em and leave ‘em” kind of gal. But, when their newest guest arrives for an extended stay, can Jolie change her ways? Can she trust him with their secret...with her heart?
Dr. Theodore Macalister arrives at Siren Island hoping to research the myths of the island’s sirens. Jolie agrees to show Dr. Macalister around the island, introduce him to the locals and share some of the siren lore with him. Will he accept what he sees...what he feels? Even Mermaids Can Learn How to Believe
Throughout this series, I've loved and been drawn to the mermaid characters. So, the premise of this book being Jolie and her journey to finding love hooked me right away!
A doctor\professor from Harvard arrives at the Laughing Mermaid to research the legends and many myths of mermaids. Jolie is shocked when she meets him, not only because he doesn't fit the expected look of a professor, but because he is the man she has been waiting her entire life for. The mermaid Oracle gave Jolie a vision of a life with a man, and now Ted, that man, is standing in her mother's inn. As Jolie helps Ted with his research, she has to learn what it is SHE wants and how she wants to get it. Meanwhile, Ted feels the same energy drawing him to Jolie but he doubts himself and what he would bring to the relationship. Overall, this is a story about the power of love and how belief in yourself, others, and a few more magical ideas can improve your life and lead you to your proverbial mermaid! Another great book in the Siren Island series with references to past couples and books and plenty of inspirational discoveries to lure you in with a siren's song!

I was given a Beta version of this book for an honest review.
I loved this fourth book in the Siren Island Series. Dr. Macalister is fascinated by mermaids, drawn to them he plans to spend his summer on Siren Island researching the myths and legends of the area. While he would like nothing more than to meet an actual mermaid his analytical mind still can’t imagine that magick is real.
Jolie is wild and free spirited, she loves life and men. She’s been waiting for years to find “the one”, the man destined for her as was foretold, when Ted arrives her soul knows she’s found him, trouble is he’s put her squarely in the friend zone.
Jolie is happy to share the legends of her people and show him fascinating things he could never find on his own, but if he she can’t get him to look beyond the myths to find the magick does their love stand a chance? You’ll have to read the story to find out.
I was fascinated by the way Ted’s mind worked as Jolie shared with him the mysteries of the mermaids. It was fun to watch Jolie find her true self beneath the light hearted flirt she’s hidden behind. I laughed and shed a few tears as well. This is a definite must read in this series.

Mermaid story continues with Jolie’s story and her trials and tribulations of self discovery as she’s out teaching Dr. Ted MacAlister the legends and stories of Siren Island. This story was very sweet, yet full of heart and emotion. You felt her confusion and his angst about his self worth. Jolie is send to easy relationships but has never committed because in mermaid society the Oracle can show them things for their destiny but not always clear.She’s breezed through guys like candy but none have ever really mattered before so this shakes her usual confidence. It truly reflected the confusing emotions that we all go through in the beginning of a relationship. Truly enjoyed the mermaid mythology and storyline that’s continuing from the beginning of Siren Island Series. Meeting the characters and getting more in depth with each character’s identity and their roles on the island society. Lovely read. Loved reading every single bit and sooo looking forward to the next installment. Run,not walk to get your copy of this wonderful story!!

Tricia O'Malley does NOT disappoint. Just when you might think that the last wonderful book surely couldn't be topped, you discover that the next book is truly as wonderful and engaging as the previous ones!

He finds much, much more!

I love how Tricia writes, and how she weaves threads of a series together to keep the stories cohesive throughout the story arc. (This is book 4 of the Siren Island Series).
This book is a great read; it will make you believe in mermaids, and in love.
Read ALL the books.... in order... you can thank me later!
(When a new book comes out in these series, I reread the previous ones before opening the newest one to read it. It's worth it to me!)

When Ted arrives and she discovers he is who she has been searching for she’s shocked to find him impervious to her charms. Now Jolie is trying to get Ted to let her out of the friend and employee zone so they can have a relationship. This is a very good, fast reading book. It’s so much fun to read about Siren Island and the Ladies at the Laughing Mermaid. I liked Ted he was trying his best not to get involved with Jolie. He also had to face his past problems. Jolie had to learn patience and understanding. I would definitely read more books by this author and this series.

Good Moon Rising by Tricia O’Malley adds a lot to the Siren Island mermaid legends. College professor, Ted is obsessed with the worldwide legends of mermaids and comes to Siren Island to add to his research... and hopefully see for himself, although his logical mind can’t really accept the legends and the concept of magick as truth. Jolie is assisting him. Series readers know she, her twin , Mirra, and her mother, Irma, who run The Laughing Mermaid, are in fact daughters of the sea. No spoilers will be given, but with a such a setup how can you not be curious? Ms. O’Malley demonstrates her considerable imagination and talent as the plot unfolds. Can Ted let go of logic long enough to see the truth staring right at him or will he be found unworthy of trust? I voluntarily reviewed an advance copy of this book. Most highly recommend.

September 20, 2020The 4th book in the "Siren Island" series, does not disappoint! The connection between Jolie and Ted was pretty immediate, but Ted has principals that he stands by. No fooling around with the daughter of the innkeeper, or an employee. But his love for all things "mermaid", puts him in the good graces, of all, on the island. Jolie is used to men falling at her feet, so she has to work a little harder to win his affections. I am always transported to the island and the sea, with the writings of Tricia O'Malley! She has such vivid descriptions of everything, it feels like I am there. (Probably as close as I will get, as I can't swim!) The history of how the mermaids, evolved, was captivating and interesting. I am now in the sad state of waiting for the next installment! Good job, Tricia! I loved it, as always!

I think this is by far the best in this series. Jolie is in her mid 20’s and goes thru men like lemons in ice tea. What is she looking for. What did the oracle show her when she was 16 that she didn’t share with her family. Mom has rules about getting involved with the guest at the Laughing Mermaid. This year in the off season Ted books a room for a long term—he is a teacher and really needs a break. Ted is really into the story and life of mermaids so Siren Island seems like the perfect place. Stories told by Prince and others on the island have him believing, to a point, but will he ever really believe. Will Jolie behave. I was given this book to preview and I am still going to buy it—I never want it out of my library.

They say "write what you know," and Tricia has certainly done that. It sounds strange to say that when a book is about mermaids and magick, but you can’t help but believe as the story weaves through you. Tricia’s knowledge of mermaids can only come from being close up and personal with the ocean and its inhabitants. Jolie shows her power and confidence while being a completely loveable woman, and Ted gains his power and confidence as he grows through the story. I was enthralled as I lost myself in Jolie’s life. If you are tired of covid and politics, this book will take you on a vacation to Siren Island and make all things right again. Don’t miss this one; in fact, don’t miss any of the books in this series—some of my favorite books!

Another great read from Tricia O'Malley. Her books are the perfect "beach read" and are tough to put down. In Good Moon Rising, she introduces more about the mermaid world and the mysticism involved while tying this in to a story about relationships, love and accepting people for who they are and what they bring into that relationship. She also helps us identify with her characters; for example, overcoming preconceived notions we all have from growing up. More importantly, why do I love reading her stories, this one included? Tricia's stories are relatable, have a great pace, and show personal growth for her characters. So looking forward to the next installment and seeing Jolie's sister find her soulmate.

Wow! Tricia O’Malley blows us away again in this next book, book 4 of Siren Island! Just when you think she’s not going to top the last book in the series, she does! Personally, I felt so connected to this particular book in the series! I just married my soul mate! Just like in this book, the link and connection between soulmates is crazy! It’s fun to see the challenge and learning that goes on with the beginning of any relationship. We can see this through the book.
I love her style of writing and how she adds so much detail there is no problem picturing all that is going on in the book! This is a must read series. If you want to believe in some magic in the world, the possibly of something exotic, like a mermaid, or even just a great read, this is the author for you!

This was really good and I enjoyed it so much. Jolie has been one of my favorite characters in this series so it was nice to see her get a book of her own. The love story was sweet, but fraught with so much aggravation that it was both entertaining and amusing. Jolie has always gotten whichever man she wanted because she is so beautiful. Have a healthy sexual appetite and lots of appeal it hasn't been rough for her in the least, until she meets Ted. I didn't have high expectations for this series. I wanted something mermaid-romance to read, and there are many merMAN and human female romances, but few mermaid and human man romances available. The series did NOT disappoint!! I practically inhaled these books!! I found the author's buildup for sexy scenes to be lacking and unsatisfying, but otherwise the books were MAGICAL - surprising me by how carried away by the stories I became!! The setting and characters were distinct and lively, and each book brought more to the background characters and transported me to their world, and I am now clamoring to read them all! The second book is for now my favorite! And I'm starting on the 5th book now!!

This next edition in The Siren Island Series was a lot of fun to read and a wonderful return to The Laughing Mermaid. I loved getting a deeper view into the lives of Jolie, Mirra, and Irma, who are truly fascinating women. It was great to go along on Jolie’s adventure outside of her comfort zone. Siren Island is truly a magickal place and learning more about it with Jolie and Ted is great fun. It feels like a real place due to the vivid descriptions Ms. O’Malley gives the reader and makes you want to go visit so you too can go dip your toes in the waters surrounding it. I highly recommend this book.

Absolute magick! The 4th book in Tricia O’Malley’s Siren Island series starts telling the story of Irma and her twin daughters, who run the Laughing Mermaid. We know they are “daughters of the sea” so the plot gets interesting quickly when a long-term guest has a fascination with the “legend” of mermaids. No spoilers here. It was a beautiful story of patience, confidence, logic versus magick and the wonders of the island and the sea. Tricia’s magick with her imagination, evocative descriptions and wonderful characters make this a book you don’t want to miss.

Truly Beautiful Read!
I want to start by saying the story this book provided was so entrancing and beautiful. I loved the stories of the Siren Island history and mermaid mythology that were discussed throughout the book, it makes you want to believe mermaids are real. The descriptions of the underwater scenes were so enchanting as well, I felt like I was there swimming in the ocean with Jolie &Tom. If I could give this book unlimited number of stars I would. Tricia O'malley really hit it out of the park with not only just this book but the whole series! I cant wait to read Mirra ' s story next!

I loved that this book was Jolie's!!! I was wondering if I'd ever see Jolies, Mirra's, and Irmas happy ending. And now I have at least one! It was so good. It's much better than I ever imagined. I genuinely wanted to slap Ted throughout this book. And how devastated Jolie was made me so angry! How could he ignore all the magic in front of him? It's crazy and made me so mad! I'm so glad that he actually accepted everything. He was so worthy of Jolie, and he finally realized it. She couldn't have chosen better for herself. I love seeing the Siren city. And I hope that throughout the other books I get to see more of their society.

What a magickal reading experience. I almost have no words for how this book pulled me in and held me in its grip. Since I began reading O’Malley’s Siren Cove series, I knew the story of Irma and her daughters had to be told. And here it begins. The story is beautiful. The characters are fascinating & complicated. I found it interesting to see a different take on self confidence.
If you are a fan of mermaid lore, this is the story for you. If you love romance & magick, this is the story for you. This book continues the Siren Cove romance and is just simply wonderful.

So hard to put down!
I actually have a job that requires me to pay full attention to what I’m doing. Having said that, I need you to know that it is so hard to not keep reading these stories. I take my Kindle into the bathroom. I am reading at night before bed, while I’m waiting for appointments. I’m so very tempted to take a peek and read a few lines while I’m at a stoplight. I don’t usually leave reviews because I’m so anxious to get to the next book. I love you, Trisha O’Malley!

Great Book !
Another great book from Tricia I'm alley ! This has been a enjoyable light read, but also an emotional read. Each of her books gets into some trauma that people experience. This book gets into how bullying from childhood can still affect you as an adult with poor self esteem. I've learned so much about the ocean and it's made me want to go see the Caribbean's white sandy beaches, the sea life and the beauty of the sunsets. She's a wonderful author that can pull you into her stories and make you want to be there.

I love the Siren Island series. It feels like visiting with great friends to relax and enjoy the beauty and magic of a tropical island. Good Moon Rising has a literature professor staying at the Laughing Mermaid. He's particularly interested in the legends of mermaids. Jolie will be his guide and introduce him to some of the interesting people that live on the island. This is a fun book with lots of laughs and some intrigue as well. I loved it!

My new favorite Siren Island book. I devoured this story of Jolie and Ted. Full of mermaid myths (truths) and slow romance. I enjoyed the new little details about mermaid history and seeing Ted's reactions to all he learned. Such a great read. I adore snow and mountains but every time I read a book in this series, I want to relocation to Siren Island asap. I want the land, the people, the culture, and the sea. I need it like I need air. Can Prince be my best friend?

There are no words to describe how spot on the words about LIFE'S experiences can transend to fantasy land and still hold true. Tricia, you have a mind of wonder that makes me believe I can find a man that will fullfill my every desire. I will continue praying for God to bring His perfect choice to me.
