After being tricked into serving as the Mage for the Lost Cove Darklings, Felicity Hawthorne is considered sacred, finally valued for her magic after leaving the world that shunned her.

And while her blood is off-limits to the Laltogs, the vampire-like Fae that hide in Lost Cove, there is a certain dark prince Felicity wouldn't mind baring her neck to.

But Felicity’s love life is the least of her problems.

Teenagers from the human realm are going missing, but they haven’t been taken to Lost Cove, which is bizarre enough on its own; then, two Lost Cove students disappear without a trace, adding to the mystery. And when Raven discovers a secret with the power to ignite ancient grudges, Felicity finds herself face to face with a dangerous reality--one that could come with a price even higher than her own life.

In a realm where secrets are deadly and blood is the most valuable currency, Felicity must learn to harness her power, swallow her pride, and lock away her heart if she has any hope of keeping her friends alive.

Filled with magic, deception, and forbidden romance, sink your teeth into Blood Tithe, Book 2 in Bekah Harris’ new series, The Lost Cove Darklings.

When not working, Bekah can be found at home building block towers for her son to knock down, drinking coffee and watching Netflix with her husband.

Stunning

Absolutely and equally amazing as the first book. Characters definitely grow on you as you get to know them through a read. Author is a gifted writer with a magical pen

I enjoyed the second installment more than the first, mostly because of the character development, but also because the plot has more depth. It’s always fun when you’re iffy about a series and the next thing you know you’re hooked.

I was surprised with this book and how it ended. I wonder how the next book will take the storyline and can't wait to read the next one.

Note: I received this book from the author and I voluntarily give this review, it is my honest opinion.

I cannot believe how quickly I fell in love with the Darklings of Lost Cove series and the second book, Blood Tithe, which is what sealed the deal. This book was so incredibly good, I loved every angsty moment of it.

A few weeks have gone by since the ending of the Lost Coven, Felicity is getting used to her new life with the laltogs and the humans that inhabit the cove. Things aren't easy, she knows no one, humans, and laltogs alike don't fully trust her, she is separated from her parents and when she finally finds a guy she likes, he's or rather she's off-limits. However, Felicity is thankful that she has her Nan, that Raven is safe, and that she is learning magic. I love her feisty nature but I love her determination to make the best of what she has by adapting and is taking things fairly maturely while realizing she isn't totally safe in the cove.

One of my favorite things about this series so far is that it's told from multiple perspectives. Raven, Felicity's human best friend, gives Felicity a sense of normalcy while also make sure she isn't alone, she smart and just as feisty but I love seeing a human's point of view with they have all the crazy supernatural going on around them, and Raven stands by her friend no matter what. Lyric, she has all this history and past experience that comes into the story plus she knows what she is doing with magic which helps moves the story along and gives really good background information which is good for someone like me who didn't read the previous series.

As for a love interest, Tristen isn't so bad. He is very complex and is constantly put into very difficult situations, but he thinks things through and picks his battles, and tries to hold his own around his father. He is also starting to see things differently since he met Felicity and it changing him in all the good ways. I truly like Tristen and I like him with Felicity, he is a good guy and will be a good leader.

I love this series, there is just something about it that gives me that fairytale/storybook vibe but in the style of old school fairytales with all the grim and darkness. I don't even know if I can really explain the feeling right. The story just pulled me in and I was so enraptured with the plot and I have fallen hard for the characters, everything just feels so right. I really wished I read the Iron Crown Faire Tales first but the way Bekah has written the Darklings series, I don't feel like I am missing anything just that I would have a better understanding of what's happening. I do plan on reading the Iron Crown series and then I will do a reread of the Darklings series, I just know I am gonna love it and this series even more.

Gawd so much happened in Blood Tithe and it was all fantastic. Relationships got so much more complicated than they were before, a prophecy was revealed, other realms are mentioned, deals are made, shocking plot twist, huge betrayal, and devastating losses. It was great, a lot of serious consequences happened and not all of them were bad but not all were good. I have so many questions, I don't what gonna happen next but I am ready for it.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This is the second book in this series and it starts of right where book 1 stops. Even though a lot just happened to her, Felicity is learning how to be the mage in Lost Cove. Tristan is still gorgeous and off-limits, while his fiance Kyla still hates both of them. Raven is finding a new peace even while living within a community where the non-human members can very literally rip her throat out.

Again, we have chapters from the view point of Felicity, Tristan, Lyric, and a few from Raven. I love the varied voices for each POV and how BH is able to know whose voice we're reading without making it obvious at the start of every chapter.

There was a twist that I somehow didn't see coming and it made perfect sense - no spoilers - and I love being surprised like that. BH is able to bring you through the story without stating the same thing over and over or unnecessary foreshadowing. Her writing makes sense and continues at a nice pace similar to the first book. There is a new romance within this story, mystery, intrigue, and lot of action.

This book definitely had second book syndrome and honestly was such a disappointment considering how much I enjoyed the first one.

I found Tristen so irritating in this book and he only vaguely redeemed himself at the end of the book. Felicity was all over the place and the only thing stopping me from rating this one star was Raven’s chapters. I said in my review for book one I wanted to see more from her and I am glad we got this.
I’m not sure if it was the lack of a solid plot or what in this book but not much happened to move the story along and I didn’t feel any clearer about the world the author created from this book like I had expected. Most of it was filler which I can’t stand & I hate that this has ruined my enjoyment of this series.

I do think Bekah writes well and maybe some of her other books might work better for me in the future!

I wish I could rate half stars because I would give it 3.5. I think that, for me, this story is very predictable but still enjoyable. Although I haven't commented on the previous series this spins from or the previous book in this series, I can't believe how many errors I have seen. I think that the copy edits I noticed made this less enjoyable for me. Sometimes it was just a word and sometimes there was a character quoted that was a character not in the scene that was meant to be said by a character IN the scene. I definitely adore the characters though and love that we get more about this world. I'm going to continue reading this series without question.

great story but errors are distracting

I’m enjoying the storyline and characters in this series. I don’t care for chosen fantasy terms but I can get past that. I was surprised to find several errors in names. In one part there’s only Luca and Tristen but in two spots Luca is referred to as Dante. It took me a minute to figure out what the heck was going on and I’d expect better editing.

Another great addition to the Lost Cove Darklings series. Felicity and Raven are settling into their new life in Lost Cove but danger lurks everywhere. I enjoyed learning more about the different fae courts and their political systems.

A copy was given to me by the author in exchange for an honest review. Opinions are my own .

I love these characters

These books are so well written, with truly likable characters that I can’t get enough of. I absolutely love that we’re seeing so much of my favorite characters from the Iron Crown series! Looking forward to seeing what is going to happen next with this series.

I love all of these books! I read the thorn princess books before this series and loved that and was so excited to hear she was writing a new series in the same world with some of the same people. This series has been a nice escape from the stresses of 2020. I highly recommend this book if you want a quick and fun read.

Story was fun to read, but the events seem rushed and could be more development. The ending for me was lacking some interaction between Felicity and her Bio Dad. But I still enjoyed it. Looking forward to the next.

Great world building.

Characters and worlds were built on known characters and worlds as well as fantasy worlds and characters with the addition of new characters, new worlds and conditions.
Very interesting and enjoyable reading. Recommend highly.

Great series thus far. Wondering if this might be a spin off??? If not it has a great complex back story that would make a great prequel series!!!!
