This third collection of short stories in the Demon Accords series was the longest one yet and is basically a continuation of the main story arcs that is best read between Darkin Queen and Blood Drawn.

We got six short stories in this one:

Two Natures: This was a pretty good short story featuring Caeco, Mac, and Jetta as they investigate a potential werewolf murder. It was engaging and we met a new were character.

Threefold: This tale was another glimpse into Declan’s childhood. We did not learn anything new but it was a readable enough tale.

Herding Wolves: This was another Stacia POV story. We got to see her dealing with her growing Pack and with the usual stuff that her and Declan have to deal with! It was a good short story.

The Webs We Weave: This was a fun Lydia POV tale. We got a glimpse into her life and the sort of things she does for Demidova Corp and Tanya when she is not directly by her side.

The Kings Daughter: We got a new lead character in this tale in the form of Nira. She was a young human living in Declan’s Middle Realm on Faire. It was great to get a glimpse into this world and Nira seemed a likeable new character with a few fun secrets of her own. Probably my favourite story in this collection.

Parabellum: This one was the least interesting story in the collection. It was Chris and the team preparing for the assault by the Vorsook.

All in all a pretty fun collection. I think the secondary characters really enhance this series!

Rating: 3.5 stars.

Audio Note: James Patrick Cronin did a decent job with this one.

I love almost anything by this author. This is a group of short stories from the world. One with Caeco, Mack and Jetta. One with scenes from Declan as he grew up - some of the most important events. Another from Lydia. One from Faire with a new character, though Stacia and Declan were in that one. And the final one with Chris and Tanya training for the invasion. I big shout out to Gareth Otton for the cover art, it looks amazing.

On my wish list for stories from this world are from characters from both Chris and Declan's past. I want to hear about the one girl that Chris dated before Tanya and how she feels now. I want to hear from Rory, one of Declan's friends and the people that treated him poorly and what they think now. Then I want to know more about the witches from Declan's old circle. Haven't heard anything from them since book 8. I looks like there will be 2-3 more book in the series from the author's note at the end which should be all about the alien invasion. I am looking forward to it.

Tasty

I love the series, and it has been a while since I read them...again. This touched on some peripheral characters, added a few new ones, and laid some ground work for the next full novel. Not a lot of truly ground breaking events, just little appetizers.

A few typos, but nothing terribly messy.

You gotta love the Demon Accords Compendiums. Stories involving the lesser seen characters and connective tales leading up to the next main book.
There's really no reason for me to dig deep into a description of these since odds are you've already read at least some of the series

Another compilation of short stories in the Demon Accords. Most are just more prep for the Vorsook. One introduces a new character while another is a prequel. One story features Caeco but there isn't much development of her character so if you dislike her it shouldn't be much of a bother.

While this is another fairly solid offering in the series and better than most short story collections (based on a series) I've read it feels like the narrative has lost a lot of it's steam. We're getting a lot of filler and new characters to pad it out instead of resolving the current Arc. I'll still probably read the next installment but I've lost a lot of my interest.

My favorite of the 3 Compendiums so far
I get the feeling fans of the series might really need to read this one before the next main book. There is a ton of "build up" to the next stage of the story as opposed to "look back" at past events.

Of the Demon Accords Compendiums, the first two had some aspect that was depressing or repulsive wile the whole thing was well worth the minor irritants. I mean they were all jam packed with side stories and really cool extras and bonus material.
This one, wile it seemed shorter -had no flies in the ointment. It did have one flash back story, but a lot of content that happens after Darkkin Queen. I enjoyed it from start to finish.

This is such a great series and the compendiums are great at filling in the small gaps in the story, some of which you don’t even know are there! Mr. Conroe - One question I have always had is what happened when Declan relinquished control of the realm on Fairie? Clearly the Realm wanted him and he was going to be a good Lord of that area for the citizens. Did he just never show up again and the poor realm was left wondering what happened? Are the citizens going to be enslaved by the two new queens? Will the Realm even work for the Queens? I think that is definitely a story that needs to be written.

Do you really see my Opinion?

No, no you don’t if you have read all the other books in the series there is no need for my opinion and if you haven’t why not?? In my opinion there are only a few chapters in the whole series that I dislike and only one I hate but that is my opinion and to have reference to it you must read and make your own so what are you waiting for. Buy the book and read it or buy The whole series and read it. It got Dragons, Vampires, Weres, Fairies, Elves, Witches, and more along with love, loss, action, and all the other stuff we look for in books.

Another great addition to the Demon Accords world

I truly enjoy how Mr. Conroe continues to build upon old and new elements in his series. It's like a sculptor building layer upon layer of clay giving us insight toward the finished product, but with enough variation to keep us guessing. I applaud his imagination and hope he has many more ideas up his sleeve to keep the series going. I enjoyed all the stories, but especially liked the introduction of Nira and Storm. Each new character he brings into the DA realm adds depth to his world building.

So, this series has officially jumped the shark. Everything cool about the first several books has turned into boring, politically correct, sappy relationship affirmations, with no forward progress. Hardly any action because we have to reassure everyone’s insecurities. We should have fought the war three books ago and moved on. Chris, who was why we got into the series is just worthy of a short spot at the end of this. Declan was cool, but now no longer fun. Can’t relate to him anymore. Too many wheels spinning. I’m probably done with the series. Maybe I’ll give it one more book.

Yes! More Declan and Stacia please

The development of the various individuals and the 'coincidences' involved continues to make this one of the most fascinating series out there. Declan is still the most interesting. The concept of having world shattering power, yet remaining humble and interested in continuing to improve himself and help others. Likewise, Stacia working tirelessly to build up everyone around her.

Slipping in the bit regarding Omega and the internet/social media was a bit prophetic. If only there was such a magic bullet.

This book made my day

It is always fun to get to read about other characters and their points of view in the Demon Accords world. The stories made me smile. Our characters are still true to who they are but still continue to grow and amaze. The trip back to fairy was awesome. Next I want stories from Nika's perspective. I love all the characters in this universe. Hey, I even grew to like Caeco.

Fantastic as per usual

Mr. Conroe continues to captivate with this grouping of short stories in the Demon Accords universe. When I got the notification it has released I was compelled to put aside another novel I had been reading and devour this one non stop. I really enjoyed the connections between each of the stories as John always makes small references to remind us of what other characters in his universe are up to. Can’t wait for what is next.

The DA plot branches out.

I really like the way in which John has introduced different threads to the Demon Accords tapestry. I totally disagree with those reviewers who feel the storyline has run its course. I'm looking forward to the next instalment, whichever thread is used.
Just to add that I thought that John's entry into the world of Montshire was well executed and it's good to have variety. So carry on with the good work I say.

Another great Demon Accords Volume

I almost hesitate to call this an anthology.
Each story very clearly builds on what previously happened. It's more like a single single story where each chapter is tome from the punt of view of a different character.
I think King's Daughter is my favorite, but there are several good stories here, all building up to the finale of the current story arc.

Highly Enjoyable

I’m not normally a fan of off cut stories or the same story rewritten from someone else’s angle or point of view! But dammit, the author is dam good at it!

Obviously as he admits this is to open the door to the coming Vorssok battle, but the character are much loved & it was nice to enter the DA world again.

I may have to try his other books too now away from the DA world!

This compendium is well worth the read.

Another fantastic DA book!

I love the whole DA series and think the Compendium Books are a great way of filling out the back stories of some of the characters and introducing new ones. This book has five good stories, introducing a couple of new characters who I hope will appear in future books as I would like to see them developed more. There is also an interesting relationship developing between two existing characters which hopefully will be explored further.

I got this after one of the demon accords book made it seem like something interesting happened behind the scene, but I put it off for months.

I hope me putting it off wasn't my subconscious knowing something I didn't.

Well I got the story behind the throwaway line in the main series, that made me pick this up. It wasn't really that enlightening. I though it would have had more details. Oh well.

A little back story into the lives of our favorite demon smashers. I love the new characters points of view and enjoy more insight into the planning of the coming war. I expect more political backlash from various countries. I do like the fact that some countries are falling in line it makes the story more real to me.

Wonderful as always!

This series and compendiums are truly a wonderful and engaging experience. It sets up the next books and introduces new characters for either spin offs or just adding to richness and complexity of characters. Well done John Conroe and I will be looking forward to your always great work in the future.

A great mix of short stories from one of my favorite universes

I just love Declan and Chris, but sometimes is very refreshing to see things from other pov. In this compendium we get a few glimpses of the past and a lot of teasers of what's to come.
The way John Conroe writes, it's really captivating, and it gives every voice a unique perspective and let us see different aspects of the characters in these stories. I especially like to see the backstage of everything that goes on with the side characters and their roles.
With this book, I have come to like the characters even more, and become even more eager to get the next book in the Demon Accords.

A fitting crescendo- global alien fairie wars!

Short vignettes are fun especially as we get to meet some of the characters and see their qualities unfold even better – and the general tone continues to be one that I enjoy enormously- one of immense gravity and lightheartedness simultaneously

Addiction to books equals no sleep.

I love and hate (not really) these books, its like a little sampling of my favorite characters, satisfying my addiction, but leaving me aching for more.
I read all J Conroe books, I like his story development and character choices.
Hope everyone is staying safe, soothing themselves with these stories.

Wonderful book of short stories.

All the usual characters are gearing up for war by the alien invaders. We get to meet some new members of the team. Declan and Stacia spend more time in Faerie and find resources and some local talent that could be helpful down the road. So much is going on and I can't wait fly the next book in the series.

Another Great One

The Demon Accords and most recently the Demon Accords Compendium, Volume III were real life savers. The year 2020 was a personal doozy and it’s taken half of 2021 to get our life and our balance back. Couldn’t have done it without John Conroe’s Worlds to help us periodically escape reality. Thank you

Amazing as always.

Seeing the world from multiple points of view is wonderful, and Mr. Conroe does it well. I enjoyed this compendium as much if not more than the previous two, and plan to purchase the Audible version when available. Keep up the great work!
