Spot is really starting to grow on us. We weren't that crazy about him initially, but the bright and clear pics are great for learning colors and objects/things. Is he on some big, life changing adventure as he goes about his day? No, but sometimes there's beauty in the mundane. Or something along those lines according to mama. 🐕 💐 🐦 🍎

This is a short and simple board book detailing all of the things Spot and Mommy can do together (i.e. eat breakfast, go shopping, get help when hurt, play hide and seek, make a cake, and read together). Assuming there is a companion book for Daddy, too, then this is a good introduction to mom-child relationship.

My mom bought me this book yesterday's afternoon at the big and beautiful store T.J. Maxx of the Lake City Mall in Lake City, Florida and the price was really cheap, just U$5.99, 5650.94 chilean currency or 58.93 dominican currency. There were a bunch of books, but this one was one of the cheapest and cutest and also I was searching for a gift for my little six-month-old niece Sofia Victoria Valdez López, the first and only one I've had so far.

This little book is so easy to read and cute, even if english is the second language I know better and my english level is B1, intermediate or independent according to the CEFR or Common European Framework of Reference. I think it was written in simplified english and all the painting for kids it has made it easier to understand. I understood all the words of this book, the only one that was unknown for me was snuggle up, but I already knew the synonym cuddle or hug, which do not mean exactly the same thing, but something similar.

I didn't knew that Spot is a really common name for dogs in Australia and that is the name of the puppie of this book, one of the only two characters it has, the other character is the mother of the puppie that doesn't have a name on this book, but probably in one of the books about Spot.

This is the first book I read of the british writer Eric Hill and I really enjoyed it, is such an easy reading and is good to know that Eric Hill will be remembered in various places around the world for his entrepreneurial spirit, his drawings, his art, for being a good father and for entertaining and educating people of all ages, but mainly young children.

I will love to keep reading more books of this series and to learn more about the culture of America or USA, England and many other english speaking countries though reading or listening to these tender books that warms your heart, soul, guts, stomach, bile and digestive system and at the same time helps me to improve my english and to increase my self-esteem since I can understand the message of the story even though I can't understand all the words.

I am writing this reference while my mother is reading in the kitchen of my brother's house the autographed book by the spanish writer María Dueñas Vinuesa. I bought this book to my mother and to my aunt Verónica Salazar Alvarado for the chilean and commercial or international mother's day and I also met the writer and took the opportunity to take a photo with her and tell her about my passion for writing.

Hope my brother; sister-in-law, mother, little niece and many other people all around the world and from different cultures and ethnic background can enjoy a lot this book, create new memories and experiences in their lives and warm their hearts as I did.

I definely recommend this book and I whish you can enjoy reading it.

Spot is on par with the Clifford series in my mind from my childhood. I started my son out with two from the series, this being one of them. I think it's cute but he vastly prefers the "lift a flap" version of "Where's Spot?" Usually when he grabs this, it's because he thought it was the other book I just mentioned & he'll stop me reading halfway through to find the other one.

The Spot books are all very basic and boring, but there's some comfort in that. The illustrations are bright and beautiful, though. This one, very sweetly, demonstrates all the ways mothers are wonderful. A perfect little book to read on Mothers Day.

Lara's first book. Spot has breakfast with his mum, goes shopping, gets looked after, plays hide-and-seek, bakes a cake, and gets read to by his mum.

Adorable book. Sweet and simple. This book is British so it uses the word "mum" instead of "mom", which I love.

The activities with mom are very stereotypical, but the idea of a fun day with mom is captured well.

This is one of the children's books that I read for We Give Books, A Pearson Foundation Initiative to help children all around the world obtain books. It's an organization that gathers many campaigns in one spot on the web to encourage people to read many books for children. With every book you read, one gets donated to the campaign you signed up for. (There's quite a few campaigns available.) A very good friend of mine, Nicole Terazue, recommended this site to me since she knew I loved reading books! (Thanks love!) The campaign I chose to be a part of is called Books For Asia. Every book that I read associated with We Give Books gets donated to Books For Asia so that less fortunate kids in Asia will be able to have more books to read from and learn. It's a fabulous project and I urge all readers, especially parents with young children, to join and help other children less fortunate than our own to read and spread the word of We Give Books. It will benefit children everywhere.

Let me start off by saying that I grew up with Spot. Every Friday in elementary school I used to go to my school library and there were two types of books I used to check out: Dr. Seuss and Spot. Spot was a loving figure of my childhood and reading this book now that I am old enough to drive a car, I realize... I still feel the same way! This little dog is so loving and adorable that you can't help but fall in love with him by just reading these few pages. This particular book shows his relationship with his mother and all the activities they enjoy doing together. Letting your child read this book will not only introduce him/her to a lot of vocabulary that he/she may not know (it's geared towards toddlers ages 0 to 3), but it will also show him/her how a parent and a child's relationship should be. Another thing about this book that I feel needs mentioning is the bright, colorful artwork. This book is visually appealing. Your child will find this book irresistible! After all, who doesn't love reading about a cute puppy and his mommy? I really think you should read this book with your baby because it will help him/her learn on so many levels. I know I would want to have this book in my collection for years and years to come! (I love Spot! He brings back so many memories for me!!!)

Spot Loves His Mommy is a picture book. It is intended for the nursery age group. although the author has won awards, this book appears to have not. The book is about activities that occur with spot and his mother tell each other that they love one another. This book only deserves two stars because there is no plot, it feels as though the book is a compilation of random sentences. One thing Spot Love His Mommy has going for it is that it is an easy read. The words and language used are simple and easy to understand. There is a consistency with the theme of spot and his mother being on each page. The illustrations match the activities being described in the text on the page. The illustrations are a bit bland, nothing really eye catching or interesting. There are no bold colors used which is very necessary to grab and hold the attention of the age group this book is intended for. I believe Eric Hill used folk are in Spot Loves His Mommy because you can tell Spot and his mother are dogs but are not illustrated in a realistic manner. I do not believe this book would be appealing to young readers especially in this age group because it is not the least bit exciting with the text or illustrations. Spot Loves His Mommy could be used in the classroom around Mother's Day. The children could create a book for their mothers as a gift telling why they love their mother. They could also have a discussion about things they do with their mother, what makes their mother special, and how does their mother make them feel special. If the child does not have a mother then have them chose someone else of importance to them.

I read this online at wegivebooks.org. Its a very cool site that lets you read children's books with your child (or one your own if you like), and with each title you complete, you can choose a book to donate to a worthy cause. I read about it in Parenting magazine.

As to this book - it was cute. The dogs preform a lot of actions that people do, but still remain more dog like than human like. Nice color to the pictures. A good book to introduce children to reading dialog punctuation. A good practice book for an early reader since the structure and vocabulary were pretty easy, but, at the same time, that makes the reading a little bland as far as a read aloud book.

May 2012 - I have since read many more Spot titles with Natalie, but I read this title most recently to William. Its a good board book. Bold colors and simple large text. It was appropreiate in content and length for reading to a baby, as I was to 8 month old William.

Another great adventure with Spot! These books were completely errased from my memory until my wife's bridesmaid gifted a couple of them to our son. Talking about a blast from the past! This one is about bonding with Mum and whenever i read it to my son, i then have to read the Daddy one twice! :P

A beautiful book about a dog named Spot and His love for his Mum. This book is perfect for kids under three years of age. With vibrant and bright illustrations Spot Loves His Mum is just the right length to capture and hold a toddler's attention. It's entertaining to both the child and adult and the perfect book to add to a child's growing book collection (or to complete an Adult's Spot Collection). Unlike most of the Spot collection, this book is geared more towards celebrating the love a Mother and Child has for one another and is simply that. The hard board pages means that toddlers who a teething or just like to chew on things won't be able to tear out pages and the books pretty much indestructible.

This title would make a great Mother's day Present to a new mum, or perhaps a Mum to be.

Spot Loves His Mommy is a classic Spot book: low on plot, high on schmaltz/Spot cuteness for the pre-reading crowd, though even beloved mommies might find this one a little dull.

Perhaps more importantly, though, I read this book online for free at www.wegivebooks.org -- We Give Books is an organization (created by the Penguin Group and the Pearson Foundation) that allows you to read a book online and click to DONATE A BOOK FOR FREE to various worthwhile pre-designated recipients. You sign up for an account and can read all the books they have on offer, then click to donate. It costs absolutely nothing, you get to read a free book, and you get to help others read, too. Seriously, this is the definition of win-win.

I chose this book to read because it was one of my favorites as a child! In this book the main character is a dog named Spot. As the title implies, Spot loves spending time with his Mommy who is also a dog. He loves playing hide-and-seek with her, baking cakes, and reading his favorite story! The main idea to the story is that Spot and his Mommy have lots of fun together. This book would be a perfect gift for a young child between 0-5 to give to their mother's for Mothers Day. I would also recommend this book for any preschool, or childcare center that deals with kids from ages 0-5 because it is heartwarming and would be great for sharing!

I think the concept is cute but I think children's books should have more of a lesson. All i learned from this story is that spot likes to do things with his mom. To a child, I know thats important but I feel as if there should have been a more meaningful concept behind it. A concept I think the book should have focused on was how to be grateful. We learned all the things Spot and Mommy love to do but the book would have really tied together if we got to read how grateful Spot was that he had such a great Mommy.

A cute Spot book about what Spot and his Mommy do together. While the pictures are typically adorable, I am a little concerned that Spot and his Mommy do all domestic things (e.g. bake a cake, garden, shop) whereas in the Spot Loves His Daddy book, they go out and have a fun day at the park. While many Spot books are over 30 years old, this one is recently published and should be a little more sensible of context.

Nonetheless, a sweet book about a puppy and his mom spending the day together. Short and simple, so it's a good book for little readers.

This is nice book to read to students young children because at these ages they may experience some tough times leaving mommy when it is time to go to school, we could start off by asking the child what do they love about their mommy and allow the children to respond and tell them the story about why Spot loves his mom, maybe the students can relate to some of the things Spot loves about his mother and this would be a good discussion question after reading the book.

This book really carries story of love of mom who take care of her son and even play with her son. I can think back to my mother’s love from this book. Moreover, this book can be good for students who like animal because the main characters are dog.
