Elisa S. Amore is the author of the paranormal romance saga Touched. She wrote the first book while working at her parents’ diner, dreaming up the story between one order and the next. She lives in Italy with her husband, her son, and a pug that sleeps all day. She’s wild about pizza and traveling, which is a source of constant inspiration for her. She dreamed up some of the novels’ love scenes while strolling along the canals in Venice and visiting the home of Romeo’s Juliet in romantic Verona. Her all-time favorite writer is Shakespeare, but she also loves Nicholas Sparks. She prefers to do her writing at night, when the rest of the world is asleep and she knows the stars above are keeping her company. She’s now a full-time writer of romance and young adult fiction. In her free time she likes to read, swim, walk in the woods, and daydream. She collects books and animated movies, all jealously guarded under lock and key. Her family has nicknamed her “the bookworm.” After its release, the first book of her saga quickly made its way up the charts, winning over thousands of readers. Touched: The Caress of Fate is her debut novel and the first in the four-book series originally published in Italy by one of the country’s leading publishing houses. The book trailer was shown in Italian movie theaters during the premiere of the film Twilight: Breaking Dawn—Part 2.

Very Disappointed with this book and not just because of ending. I didn’t liked where whole story went after Hades death.. what was done with Melanies character and her relationship with Lucian. First of all about Melanies character , from amazing character she become very mean and irrational, although I could’ve understand most of her actions, the way she pushed people away , especially Lucian , she didn’t let herself grieve and in front of Lucian she had to put fake mask because she didn’t wanted to hurt his feelings by showing him how much Hades death actually affected her, it’s seems logical that she started avoiding him as months went as she couldn’t handle it anymore and she convicted herself that he deserved better. Second Cassandra showed up and no matter how much I tried, I couldn’t make myself like her character , whole time I felt like she been placed there to take Melanies places in relationship with Lucian, and well at the end I was right, since the first moment Lucian saw her, his thoughts went o how her body perfectly fit in his arms, even thought that was before whole different reality mess and he claimed he loved Melanie then, so it makes me wonder how much he actually loved her if once he met other girl, his thoughts went to that girl being in his arms.. also their conversation in kitchen at the end, I strongly felt that she tried to convince him that he needs to let go Melanie and it was based on fact that he survived without her in different reality just fine and was in love with Cassandra… well of course he survived just fine , Melanie didn’t existed there.. And for the end Melanies and Lucians goodbye scene , it was so poorly written that it was painful to read. After all they been true i feel their goodbye scene should’ve been more passional and emotional , more memories should’ve been mentioned about their good days together , maybe some date that wasn’t mentioned in books before, or scene where they sit and remember all those people things together, smile about it while they talk, have one last passionate night together or at least share one last kiss to get closure , especially since she knew she will dye and he suspected that it’s was real goodbye and not just brake up, I feel the scene that was written , make their relationship look not as important as it was first shoved in first books, I just feel that there should’ve been much more than what we got and I’am very disappointed how it turned out. I didn’t had good start with these series as I honestly only started to like them when Hades showed up, I continued to read because of Melanie and Lucian, but after book 6 I decided to not continue with the rest of the series unfortunately, I feel that most important characters died and there’s nothing left to tell without repeating the story

Let down.

I throughly enjoy this series right up until the last chapter. This book was engaging and fun but the ending just didnt resonant with me. There was a great build up in this series just to have the end almost written off. It was very disappointing. Almost like author just didnt have the energy to finish it. Wish the next book to come out was not about another character but a better conclusion. That being said, I would still recommend this book/series. I normally get bored by the 3rd book and this one held my interest until the end. Happy Reading!

I loved the series, but the author ruined it with the ending. I wish I hadn’t read this last book and just let my imagination fill in the pieces. It would have been preferable. In fact, I am going to flat out refuse this ending and I am forever going to pretend it was given a better one.

What In the Actual Hell?

This book ended with her dying? Are you kidding me right now? I read 6 mini books and they kill her off and then the next book in this same series is about someone else? I’m livid that I wasted MY time on this idiocy. Well these authors completely lost a reader and I’ll not spend anymore of my money on their crap. Will never read another book by them PERIOD. You don’t just end a series saying…I don’t know if it’s real or not but I’m ok with it. My eye roll game is strong at this point. I honestly wish I’d never read these books, I’ll not make the same mistake again when starting a new series and make sure all books are out so I check to make sure they don’t kill off the main character with a ridiculous ending like this one.

I loved this book and the technical end of their stories. I hated the end but Melany did what she had to for her friends. I love that she was finally reunited with Hades. I love that Cass and Lucien can finally be together and not feel bad about it. I love that they saved so many people and once again ruined the gods plans.

I loved this series. The ending was terrible.

I am so disappointed at the ending the author chose for this story. I loved the books and waited impatiently for the sixth one and it’s’ conclusion. It has ruined the entire series, for me. I wouldn’t wish this disappointment on anyone ! There was absolutely no reason she needed to end it that way. The ending of the 5th book gives us hope that we will have the ending we would want, but instead we got this nonsense. I really think it does the main character a huge injustice and I absolutely hated it.

I guess it was just not my cup of tea

Spoiler alert! Daddy Hades dies, the author literally spends the whole 3 books dangling the hope of him returning like a carrot. Melanie dies at the end sacrificing herself for her friends. She ends up in a dream worlds with Hades and they make a statue of her. That’s the grand ending for her story. Not going to read the next season as it does not involve her or any of the others and this is the kind of thing you expect from YA academy series. Bye

Not for me

Spoilers…

Seriously, mild spoilers.

For me the first book or two was great and I really liked them, but the whole thing started falling apart right around the time when they started killing immortals. I no longer really even care at all about the characters. There are a few more books left to read in the series and I don’t think I’m going to even read them.

I wanted to wait until I finished a good portion of the series to leave any reviews. So, take this with a grain of salt that I've only finished half of the series, and know that I'll leave another review on the last book.

There are some things in the series that I've really struggled with - Melany, in general, was hard for me to like (I can't really put my finger on any one thing specifically, though); the whole triangle between Melany, Hades and Lucian. Melany never once dealt with any guilt or remorse for sleeping with Hades when she was essentially stringing Lucian along, and it appeared Lucian never knew about it (over the course of the last several books in the first half), which is hard to believe if he can read her so well (as is mentioned a couple of times). And Melany just doesn't ever deal with emotions - the books read like she's thinking some of these things, but then they kinda just get shrugged off and aren't really dealt with because she's got something else to do, someone else to save, some other plot to foil.

That said, there were a few moments of pleasant surprise.

I've liked the series thus far, despite my struggles with some things.

Needs an editor and felt incomplete

The story could’ve been good if the author had edited it. Too many times I stumbled upon errors that completely took away from the story throughout all six books. I had hoped that, as I continued, perhaps the quality would have improved. I enjoyed the story that was being told. I did not enjoy the many, many errors everywhere. The ending felt severely lacking as well, too many questions left unanswered. How will the world fare without the gods that watch over it? Where had Hades been all that time? What happened to all those gods and goddesses? Will new gods rise where they fell? Will they be reborn? Why was Hades able to communicate with her while the others were unable to? What happens to the world with half the gods and goddesses removed from it? Are they nothing more than just more powerful beings, pawns to larger play things, and meaningless in the grand scheme? Too much left unanswered, which made the ending feel incomplete and disappointing. Glad Melany got her somewhat happy ending, though even that felt shallow.

Melany’s character development through the entire series was superbly executed. I truly disliked Melany at the start of the 6th book. She was bloated with self importance and hurting her friends and Lucian. While I understand everyone processes grief differently, and one tends to push away their friends and family often during this process, she went to great lengths to hurt Lucian (who only wanted to make her feel better).

The conclusion to the series and the rounding off of her character development, put a smile on my face. I loved how Melany was always there for her friends no matter what.: and that’s the Melany we saw at the end of the series.

Lucian was truly the light to her dark. He remained to be her support system throughout and such unwavering and unflinching support is truly to be appreciated.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ star’s first this book and ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ stars to the entire series. Absolutely love!

In tears while writing this!

I was fully prepared to hate the ending to this series, as I do any series I read. I hated the thought of saying goodbye to this wonderful world I have escaped into this last week. I dislike the finality that so many series end on. The Demigod Academy series is different than any other I have finished. I left this world with tears and laughter and a strong feeling of thankfulness to the authors for adding just that little extra on the end that completed this story in a beautiful way. It doesn't feel like I am saying goodbye to the characters while wondering where they would end up. I am so happy to have stumbled across these books! I can proudly say this is my favorite story I have ever read. I'm already excited to add them to my library!

Tantalising

In this installment melany has try and locate zues lifeline thread as she fears someone is trying to bring him back from the dead. this is on her mission to find the fates as they seem to be on holiday along with the god of death. They go on a full mission get in trouble with the head of the academy. To top it all off the dead start walking the streets and melany and her friends have to come save the day again. There are full blown twists within this story and one important question. Is melany gone forever ?
I really am enjoying this series of books as I'm already half way through and I can't wait to dive into the next book
My least favourite character is Cassandra jealously is a fickle friend
My favourite character is lucian he really does love melany

Tired of Melany's obsession of Hades

I'm frustrated with melany's character. Hades is thousands of years older than her, was in love with her great great great great grandmother Persephone (weird), dresses melany to look like persphone, wants her to be persephone, kidnapped her to live with him, wouldn't let her see her friends, and manipulated her. But she continues to be obsessed with him. It just feels so toxic and it's annoying to read about her continues soul encompassing obsession. Spoiler alert: and that she died not to save her friends but to be with him.
I enjoy the writing but I don't like her character anymore.

Perfect ending for Melany!

There is so much scheming in this book by gods. More are involved than I can remember in previous books. I think the goddess of the sky is pretty sinister! Nothing like pulling your kids into your shenanigans. You won't believe all the stuff Apollo tries to blame Melany for. And I'm not going to lie I wasn't to sure about Cassandra to start out. Especially after the timeline changes. And I was leary of Hecate however, for good reason. You get to find out what oblivion is like. It's like a pocket realm for people who piss off a certain goddess.

I am at a loss

I’m at a loss and I don’t know how I feel right now. Everything is still raw and I have conflicted emotions. This story rocked me to my core and surprised me too in the epilogue. I was thrilled and sadden at the same time. That happens when you become invested in the characters of a series. I don’t know if I want to continue if certain people are not going to be in it. These two authors have done a wonderful job in roping me in and keeping me locked reading devouring every word.

Waited patiently for this

From book one, I was caught up in this series. Even having to wait for the final book was worth it, I finished it in one night. Hades was perfect, the other Gods were exactly how I imagined they would be. The story is fast paced, the romance was agonizingly beautiful between Melany and Hades. The only bad thing I can say was that the series has ended. I would love t have a prequel set about Hades and Persephone. Could we make this happen?? PLEASE

The ultimate sacrifice

Mel needs to find the fates and stop whoever wants to resurrect Zeus. Gina gets taken by a white worm and when Artemis goes after her she gets killed. Apollo accuses Mel of her murder and is put on trial. That trial is interrupted of course. Mel makes a deal she cant back out of and in the process learns where the fates are being kept. The ending was really shocking and heartbreaking.

Loved ❤️

Sad the series has come to an end. But what an ending it turned out to be! Tears where shed. Really enjoyed and would recommend to everyone to read this series and join Melany on her journey from beginning to end. You won't be disappointed. 😁❤️
Hope to read more stories by these authors working on future calibrations xoxo

Ok…so…

6 books. A heroine in Melany who is selfish, narcissistic, and reckless. A group of friends who love her unconditionally. People who are blind to her recklessness that ultimately caused the death of so many. I’m just at a loss at what time day and can’t, for the life of me, understand how this series continues.

Um... I guess

Well that book did not live up to the first couple. Melany was exasperating. Her surly disposition felt forced. She lost her charm. Her pining for Hades was pathetic, Lucian was a stupid, lost boy instead of a believable hero. Yup, not happy, I became indifferent about the characters and as usual in most YA books, I waited for the bratty MC to die.

I’m not crying, you’re crying 😭 tears of sadness and joy with this book. It seems like Melany cannot get a break. She’s out to save the day and save her friends. This was such a great way to end the second season of the books. I’m sad to no longer read about these characters, but I’m sure the next season will be great too!

So…if any of you were disappointed by the ending of this book, then you may be happy to know that if your cheeky like me and started book 7 but couldn’t get into it. You may just want to type in the words ‘blue’ ‘melany’ or ‘hades’ and be able to find the chapters in the next few books which show snippets about hades and Melany, including an ending to their story. Happy hunting like I did!

I was really disappointed with how this ended, all that hard work for it to just end like that. Didn't feel like Melany deserved that sort of ending, she might as well as not have gotten back from Oblivion.

I liked how she was reunited with Hades, but not at the cost of her life?

I don't really understand why the next books are with a new character? Unless she somehow brings them both back to life? I don't see why it would start with a new character otherwise.

there’s something about this series that is entertaining but between the grammatical errors, consistency errors, and still not really caring for the characters idk. it does feel like one author starts part, then the other continues without reading, idk. i’ll keep reading but i will continue to warn readers, this is not for everyone

This book had everything in it a good series finale should have. It took me a couple of chapters to get into this book but once I did I couldn't stop reading. I don't want to give away any spoilers but I will say I am happy with the way things ended. Mel was definitely the hero of this story.

Extraordinary read Review by Roxanne

Melany and her crew keeps you hanging on the edge of your seat? What do they have to deal with next. What kind of horrors will they have to endure this time? When dead comes back and more trouble coming can they handle it?
