The Marijuana Grower's Handbook was packed with information. The beautiful photos supported the text and helped me to understand what Rosenthal was explaining. I enjoyed reading it and inevitably spent more time with it than I had intended each time I picked it up.

Despite the cover and glossy pictures of Cannabis, this book is chock full of Psychopharmacology, Ethnobotany, Neuroscience, Horticulture, American Anthropology and even Political Science! One does NOT NEED to "grow Cannabis" to learn a _lot_ from this book! Don't let the cover fool you...

That having been said, now that I have finished it, I can not say I am very Impressed with this book. Besides the Psychopharmaceutical and Anthrobotanical Academic Information contained in Chapters 1-5; I found the rest of this book a WASTE. Pretty Pictures, but that's it. Want to grow come Cannabis for your Grandmother's Glaucoma? I recommend an "Old Fashioned" Gardening Book. It's JUST A PLANT PEOPLE, not some mad-science, Lolz!

Though chapters 1-5, IMHO, should probably be taught to Children around 8th Grade. SERIOUSLY FOLKS. Cannabis History, like it or not, is INEXTRICABLY WOVEN WITH THE FIGHT FOR CIVIL RIGHTS, try to deny it, and you with NEVER GET THE FULL PICTURE. <3. despite my Negative Review; ALL PROCEEDS FROM THIS BOOK GO TO GOOD CAUSES, so no regrets there! :) <3

Since I've been growing medical marijuana for a minute now I thought maybe I should read a book. The book was a little out dated, but had some overall general information to get you started. I learned a few interesting botanical facts but nothing about growing that I didn't really all ready know. There was a little too much info on land-race strains that is not applicable to a plant I would find locally. There was also a lot of "bro" science as in "one grower interviewed did this or that to achieve this. I was looking for more of a scientific and or horticultural approach to add to my current hands on knowledge.

As a home gardener in a newly legal recreational state, I was hoping for "Home grow setup a.) most basic, b.)slightly fancy, c.)deluxe" and this book addresses some of that, but it's also a textbook for Oaksterdam Uni's program, so there are large chapters on lights, nutrients, and other things that held my interest less.

I've always enjoyed Ed's columns and blog posts. I think I'll stick with those and keep looking for my ideal grow book.

Everything you need to know to grow on small or even large scale! It even has a handy chapter about how to be discreet if your area isn't big on plant medicine. I've had 3 successful grows and learned most from this book.
