From Wall Street Journal and USA Today bestselling author Tracy Brogan comes a sweet, funny Trillium Bay romance about moving on, creating your best self, and discovering the true meaning of love.
After her scandalous May-December romance comes to an end, baby of the family Lilly Callaghan returns home to Trillium Bay braced for the torrent of “I told you sos” from her sisters and the rest of the tiny island community. Floundering both personally and professionally, she’s at an emotional crossroads but determined to figure out her next best steps.
When a surprise job offer from her house-flipping sister reacquaints Lilly with handsome, free-spirited Wenniway Island transplant Matt Eastman, Lilly wonders if she’s ready for a new romance. Then she meets Hollywood heartthrob Jayden Pierce, who is filming a movie on the island, and she’s certain of it—but with whom? She’s caught the attention of both men, and both men have caught hers. So what’s a girl to do?
Earnest Matt shares her love of the close-knit island community, while surprisingly down-to-earth Jayden encourages her to live life outside her comfort zone. As the flirtatious triangle sets the town talking, Lilly must choose: Does she want to plant forever roots in Trillium Bay with Matt? Or follow a man who makes love stories for a living? Two very different men. Two very different futures. But deep down, Lilly knows that only one holds the promise of her kind of perfect.

Tracy Brogan is an author who can make me snort laugh and shed tears within the same paragraph, fall in love with a quaint island of 600 people, and pretty much grin through an entire book. With her quirky characters, sparkling dialogue, and heartwarming romance, she brings Northern Michigan's (fictional) Wenniway Island and her colorful citizens to life in this feel-good series that is so much fun. As with older sisters Emily and Brooke, Lilly's story is filled with humor, self-reflection, strong but sometimes complex family bonds, and sigh-worthy, though often complicated, romance. I loved it.
If you're looking for a fun, flirty summer read that brims with humor, heart, family, and, just possibly, the perfect love for Lilly Callaghan, add My Kind of Perfect to your reading list.
If this is your introduction to Brogan's Trillium Bay series, don't miss out on Lilly's sisters' stories in My Kind of You and My Kind of Forever!
*ARC received for fair and unbiased review *I also bought a copy for my keeper shelf. :)
I love living in the worlds Tracy Brogan creates, becoming friends with her characters and rooting for them to find love and happiness. In My Kind of Perfect, Lilly returns home with a broken heart, just in time for her sister’s wedding and for the filming of a movie on their quaint island. I loved watching Lilly open herself to new adventures and possibilities, and finding herself torn between the handsome movie star and the charming (and also handsome) hometown carpenter/yoga instructor. There is humor and fun along with a lot of heart and tender feelings in this wonderful book!
A perfect cover for this breezy, sweet romance. Typical of Ms. Brogan's books, this one has a cast replete with quirky, loving family members and the right balance of humor and heart. The heroine, Lilly, returns home contemplating a permanent separation from her much older boyfriend. She's immediately thrust into the center of all her family's needs as a sort of jack-of-all-trades gopher girl, and ends up as an extra on a movie set. Thus a love-triangle begins--a movie star vs. a local yoga guy. Small town gossip and well-intentioned family advice along with plenty of flirtation are the engine of the plot, which ultimately forces Lilly to decide what she needs and wants in her life. If you've got cabin-fever from being stuck inside throughout the pandemic, take a trip to Trillium Bay. It's the perfect escape.
What attracted me at first glance was the appealing cover and the description, a small island, a love triangle, and amusing characters ... what more do you need? But as I turned the pages, I was definitely thrilled with this fun, flirty summer read, which abounds in humor, interesting family situations, and sweet love dilemmas. This is my first book by this author, and I have to admit that it amazed me over from the very beginning with the perfect mix of humor and heart. I thought I might miss some background action or details because it part of a series, but after reading it, I can freely say that this book can be a stand-alone without any problems. The story of Lilly, the girl who thought she had a perfect relationship and a perfect life with her older, rich boyfriend, only to realize that she has nothing. Instead of her happily ever after, a family, and a loving partner, she ends up alone and confused. Returning home to Trillium Bay after the failed romance to try to find the helm of her life, seems like the reasonable thing to do. And after several interesting family events, new adventures and possibilities, new acquaintances and new characters .... just in the blink of an eye, our heroine is torn between two perfect men .... one is a handsome movie star, the other one – a charming and irresistible yoga instructor ... but who is the right choice? The writing style is really refreshing, easy, readable with an abundance of laugh-out moments, witty dialogue, and solid plotline. The nice balance of fun situations, quirky townspeople, chemistry, witty dialogue, and memorable characters is adding such an appeal to the book, that from the very beginning till the end you’ll be nailed to the pages. What I did not like a bit was the lack of drama and conflict, which I personally think is a key part of any interesting story. The biggest dilemma for the main character was the choice between the many suitors, as well as the few gossips, and I honestly love when the book brims with dramatic moments. But anyway, if you are looking for the perfect book for the beach, which will cheer you up and make you laugh, then definitely My Kind of Perfect is a solid choice.
With her classic wit and warmth, Brogan takes us back to a quaint Michigan island to the third sister, Lilly. Bless her, Lilly is confused. She thought she'd found the perfect man. Yeah, he was a bit older, but he gave her the life she thought she wanted ...until she realizes she doesn't want that life any longer. Home again, Lilly is trying to figure out what she wants in life. In an adorable love triangle, Lilly finds herself courted by two men - one who speaks to her spirt, one who dazzles with his Hollywood life. Can she find love again? One thing for sure - she will find exactly where she belongs. Pack this one in your beach or pool bag. It's a solid romance :)
*provided with an ARC from the author which in no way colored my review
My Kind of Perfect is my kind of perfect summer read with plenty laugh out moments, quirky townspeople, family and romance. Lilly has returned home to Trillium Bay after a failed romance to be with family and friends. Soon she has two suitors after her heart, Yoga Matt and Actor Jayden, both very different personalities but she will have to decide who is the perfect choice.
I could not put this book down, I love Trillium Bay, a small quaint island full of fun loving people that may be a little quirky and have you laughing out loud many times. Love the closeness of the sisters. Plus the words of wisdom, "It's true you can't love without trust".
I highly recommend you read this book along with the two previous Trillium Bay stories. They are stand alone stories.
I received an ARC of My Kind of Perfect in exchange for an honest review. I loved this book 3 of Tracy Brogan’s Trillium Bay series. Tracy is a Michigan author, and her writing is hilarious! I noted that I had already laughed out loud twice by page 11, so I knew I would love the book. This installment follows Lilly Callaghan’s story as she comes back home because she’s “taking a break” from a short romance with her sister’s fiancé’s dad. After traveling the globe with rich, handsome Tag, Lilly settled in Sacramento with him and realized that something was missing. Tag is a workaholic, and Lilly feels there’s nothing for her in the relationship, especially since Tag is not interested in starting a new family. She returns to Wenniway Island(a tourist destination in Lake Huron based on Mackinac Island, where there are no cars, everyone walks, bikes or gets around by horse & carriage). Being a Michigan resident, I loved the setting, I know what Tracy is referring to when she mentions areas/bars/features of Wenniway Island that are based on places on Mackinac Island. Lilly comes home in time to help her sister plan her wedding and be an extra in a movie being filmed on the island. Lilly also works with her sister’s construction company with local yoga teacher Matt and meets movie star Jayden. Tongues are wagging as Lilly spends time with both men. Will she end up with one of them, or neither, or will her sister’s future father in law come back to the island and sweep her off her feet again? Read & enjoy My Kind of Perfect to find out.
When Lilly met Tag she thought he was a dream come true but when reality set in she believed that they wouldn’t be able to overcome their very different versions for the future. She finds herself starting over back in hometown not looking for love when two men come into her life.
Matt is a yoga instructor who has become part of the Island life while Jayden is a larger than life movie star. They both appeal to her for very different reasons and now she must decide what the life she wants to live looks like and which man is destined to play the starring role.
This is a heartwarming story about discovering who you are and what will truly make you happy. It is about learning from your mistakes and realizing that the choices that don’t give you the outcome you want lead you to knowing what you do want.
My Kind of Perfect is classic Tracy Brogan and I was ever-so-happy to dive back in to her Trillium Bay world. In this third book of the series, we follow the youngest sister Lilly. She's come back home for a reset, her life not really where she thought it would or wanted it to be. With characteristic humor and charm we watch as Lilly struggles to decide between two great guys who she's managed to entangle herself with. My Kind of Perfect is a delightfully fun, perfect summer read and readers new to Trillium Bay will fall in love like so many of us already have.

3.5 stars
My Kind of Perfect is the first book I've read by Tracy Brogan and, with a writing style which was easy to get along with and a cast of quirky and funny characters. Overall I liked romance, easy and engaging read in a beautiful setting.
While this is the third book in the Trillium Bay series, this book can be read as a standalone, as you'll immediately be submerged into the small town island and its inhabitants. There's lots happening in this book, sure to keep you entertained.
After a scandalous affair with her sister's much older soon-to-be father-in-law, Lilly has returned home to Trillium Bay, not yet sure if she plans to stay. She makes herself useful by helping her older sisters out; Brooke, the town's mayor, can use some help with odds and ends around town and the mayoral office, while middle sister Emily is swamped with wedding planning, a baby on the way, and several housing projects, including her own bed and breakfast. Between them, Lilly is sure to stay busy, while she also intends to inquire about her former teaching job.
Add to that a big Hollywood production that is being filmed on the island, and everyone is a-buzz with excitement and gossip. Almost the entire population auditions to be an extra in the movie, and Lilly is also cast. She ends up in some pivotal scenes with the movie's lead, Jayden, both on and off screen, and she can't help the crush that develops for the charismatic movie star. Jayden is fun, flirty, and outgoing, and she relishes the attention he bestows on her.
Meanwhile, she also reconnects with Matt, who moved to the island about a year before and is quite the hot commodity himself. He hasn't shown a romantic interest in anyone since his arrival, that is, until Lilly returns. Her sister Emily is happy to send them on errands together, trying to be a bit of a matchmaker. While Matt has some issues from his past – who doesn't? - falling for him would be as easy as breathing.
Fresh out of her relationship with Tag, Lilly isn't looking for a rebound, so she's a bit cautious at returning either man's attention. I think this is very smart; she wouldn't want to dive headfirst into something new without letting her heart do some healing. Since she's set on becoming a mother sooner rather than later, it's also important to determine whether their lifestyles and aspirations for the future match up.
For me, there wasn't really any contest: while Jayden is sincere in his attention, he'd offer Lilly a similar lifestyle she had with Tag, which she ultimately found lacking. Despite his trust issues and somewhat nomadic tendencies, Matt is obviously the better choice for her. But will her friendship with Jayden ruin any chance she has with Matt?
The town's inhabitants and goings-on, as well as the shenanigans surrounding the movie production form a good background for this story. I enjoyed the smaller storylines as much as the main one.
My Kind of Perfect (Trillium Bay #3) Written by: Tracy Brogan
Summer’s about to start so off I go again to Trillium Bay and I’m excited because Lilly Callaghan has come home.
If you’ve been keeping up with the goings on with the Callaghan sisters and their family and friends you’ll remember that Lilly was the floozy, sorry the younger woman who fell into a very (May several years December) relationship with John Taggert. Yes, Ryan’s father – see above reference to the May/Decceemmbbeerr romance. Lilly is if nothing else a practical girl, she has realized that maybe her sisters and friends in Trillium Bay did know what they were talking about when she and “Tag” John fell in love the previous summer. Now, not quite a year later she’s home and hoping that maybe she will find who and what she is looking for on Wenniway Island.
Not much has changed, well there is a pregnancy, maybe two and news has it there is a movie being filmed on Wenniway Island this summer. How exciting right! Last but not least Lilly is in need of a job, so Emily hires her. The other thing Emily does is she softly points Lilly to maybe catch up with handsome, sexy, ex-underwear model Yoga “Matt Easton”. With the cast and crew arriving and a meeting between Lilly and male lead Jayden Pearce, one has to wonder is Lilly going to stick to her plan.
With almost the entire population hoping to get some kind of role in the film, two new little Trillium Bayer’s close to being born, an upcoming wedding and all the folks we love, you can be sure that Tracy Brogan has once again given us laughs, excitement and lots of time with the Callaghan family (including Ryan and Leo). Her humor, characters and writing style keep me coming back for more. Will Lilly find the man who can fulfill her wish list? Or will she lose him to a decision that was hastily made?
I can’t recommend this enough, it’s number 2 in my 2021 reading list and I will admit right now, I’ve pre-order the paperback to add to my growing collection of Tracy Brogan paperbacks.
My thanks to Montlake Romance, NetGalley and Tracy Brogan for the chance to advance read this wonderful book.
This is an ARC review. Thank you so much Tracy Brogan for letting me do this for you.
I am so excited to be back on Trillium Bay! There is just something about this island and all of its residence that makes every single day magical. Between the close knit community who loves a good scandal and how everyone find their happy ending, I cannot help but smile as I read Lilly's story.
We all caught a glimpse of Lilly and her life with Emily and Brooke's stories but now it is her turn. She followed her heart, no matter where it took her and she didn't give a damn about what anyone thought. A powerful woman. But, now all that power attracted two very attractive, fun and oh so steamy men that want to pull her into to different lives. One we met, Yoga Matt and the other Jayden, we get to know through each page turn.
This third Trillium Bay story is beautiful, fun, heart pounding and down right gorgeous. Tracy plays at our heart strings and makes us want to read this book slow so we never leave this magical place.
I do hope, no I wish upon all the stars that we can come back here again. I know the Chief of Police only had three daughters but there are so many other members of this fun loving community that are just waiting for their stories to be told.
My vote is for Gigi. That woman deserves a standing ovation for her charm, wit and taste in men. 😉
The love triangle trope. It’s one of those tropes that either leave you with all the “awws”, when you applaud the final pairing and walk away happy for the fictional characters you are now invested in. Or, if not done right, you leave satisfied, but feeling a little icky for at least one fictional character you’ve grown to love. Because of this, it’s one of my favorite and least favorite tropes.
And Brogan nailed it. When I closed this book for the final time, I did so with all the feels (and a new book boyfriend, which I haven’t had in a really long time.) I walked away happy for everyone.
As usual with Brogan’s writing, the characters come to life and you feel transported into the story, walking alongside her characters as they traverse whatever she’s thrown at them. I left this book wishing I could be part of that world, instead of just reading about them. I’ve read multiple books by Brogan and My Kind of Perfect might be my favorite. So far.
My Kind of Perfect by Tracy Brogan is a charming romantic read. In this novel, readers will find the heroine being courted by a few men. Each one offers her a different lifestyle. One is a life full of luxury and travels. The other brings in a place to call home with family and friends. Lily is not sure which of the two is more for her. She has a lot of thinking to do. Choosing the right man is difficult but worth it in the end. The hero of the story is extremely likable. I enjoy following him as he too, has a lot of thinking and changing to complete. They both find that perfection does not exist. But being the best of who they are and can be is enough. I love the story! It is heartfelt and entertaining. Both realistic and romantic, My Kind of Perfect is a must read for the summer months. I highly recommend it for all romance fans.
I received this copy from the publisher. This is my voluntary review.
Though I haven’t read the previous books in the series, I feel this can be read as a stand alone. With that said, I enjoyed getting to know Lily and found her to be a likeable character. Though at times she made me want to shake her, she kept the story going with her witty, quirky and humorous ways. Loved the romance aspect as Lily tries to figure out where her love life is going. My Kind of Perfect is a well written, humorous and engaging book to read. Many thanks to NetGalley, the publisher and author for the opportunity to read this book for my honest opinion. All opinions expressed are my own.
"My Kind of Perfect" by Tracy Brogan is a delightful and heartfelt novel that explores the complexities of love and the choices we make when faced with two compelling options. Set in the picturesque Trillium Bay, this story follows Lilly Callaghan, the youngest of her sisters, as she returns home after a scandalous May-December romance ends. Struggling to find her footing both personally and professionally, Lilly is faced with difficult decisions and the attention of two intriguing men.
Lilly's surprise job offer from her sister leads her to reconnect with Matt Eastman, a handsome and free-spirited Wenniway Island transplant. As she contemplates a potential new romance with Matt, she crosses paths with Jayden Pierce, a charismatic Hollywood heartthrob filming a movie on the island. Caught between the attention of both men, Lilly must navigate her feelings and make a choice that will shape her future.
Tracy Brogan skillfully crafts a love triangle that keeps readers engaged and invested in Lilly's journey. Each character brings their own unique qualities and charms to the story. Matt represents stability and a deep connection to the island community, while Jayden offers excitement and the allure of a life outside of Lilly's comfort zone. Brogan expertly explores the dynamics between these characters, creating a palpable tension that keeps readers guessing until the end.
The setting of Trillium Bay serves as a captivating backdrop for the story, with its close-knit community and idyllic charm. Brogan's vivid descriptions bring the island to life, allowing readers to immerse themselves in its beauty and feel a sense of belonging alongside the characters.
Lilly is a relatable and likable protagonist, grappling with her own insecurities and the pressure of making the right choice. Her emotional journey and personal growth form the heart of the story, and readers will find themselves rooting for her as she navigates the complexities of love and self-discovery.
Tracy Brogan's writing style is engaging and filled with warmth and humor. The dialogue is witty, and the pacing of the narrative keeps the story flowing smoothly. While the plot may follow a familiar pattern for romance novels, the author's execution and the depth of the characters make it an enjoyable read.
While the love triangle is the central focus of the story, "My Kind of Perfect" also explores themes of family, forgiveness, and finding one's true path. The relationships between Lilly and her sisters add depth and emotional resonance to the narrative, showcasing the power of sisterhood and unconditional love.
If there is a minor criticism, it would be that some plot developments feel slightly predictable. However, the engaging characters and the author's skill in crafting heartfelt and tender moments more than compensate for any predictability.
In conclusion, "My Kind of Perfect" is a charming and heartwarming novel that will sweep readers away to the enchanting world of Trillium Bay. Tracy Brogan's compelling storytelling and lovable characters make this a delightful read for fans of contemporary romance. It is a tale of love, self-discovery, and the courage to follow one's heart to find true happiness.
Tracy Brogan once again displayed her talent in a wonderful, heart-warming, story in My Kind of Perfect by Tracy Brogan, book three in her Trillium Bay series. Reading this book had me laughing out-loud while finding tears falling down my cheeks, in the same paragraph; while falling in love with the people living in this island town.
This is youngest sister Lilly’s story as she moves on from her relationship mistake; a May-December that was all December and no May. Returning to Trillium Bay allowed Lilly to return to the comfort of home and family, move on from her failed attempt at romance, discover who she truly was, and understand the true meaning of love. Lilly is ready to find her place in the family, being the youngest and explore her dreams, not those someone else created for her. As Lily finds her voice, her self-worth, and is able to stand-up for what she wants, she also finds herself in a tug-of-war between two men, rivaling for her attention and heart. There’s heartthrob actor Jayden, star of a Hollywood movie being filmed on the island. He is not what one would expect and it was enjoyable getting that peek into a movie set. Then there’s Matt Eastman, a newcomer who the local calls Yoga Matt and popular with the island women, of all ages. Matt is quite a complex guy, something I didn’t expect. Then there’s the larger than life couple of Gloria and Tiny who added many laugh-out-loud, snort-like humor, to their scenes. Add in Lilly’s older sisters Emily and Brooke, her firecracker of a grandmother, her teenage niece, and her quiet, reserved father and life is anything but normal for this family.
Ms. Brogan wrote a story that was wonderful, humorous, entertaining and romantic that should definitely not be missed. This tale is rich with sizzling chemistry, amazing dialogue, and endearing/quirky characters while Lilly journeys to rediscover herself and find true love. I highly recommend My Kind of Perfect to other readers.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this story.
I love this series and I love this book. You really need to read the previous two books to understand all the side issues going on in this book. This book is about the third daughter of a family, Lilly. If you have read the first book, you will remember Lilly as the “money digging bimbo” (which she really wasn’t). Her May - December romance came to an end as soon as Lilly started thinking straight again (thank goodness) so she came back to the tiny Michigan island to return home. Her other two sisters found their HEAs (the subjects of the first two books) and now Lilly felt like she was running home only to hear the entire island scream “I told you so”.
Lilly rekindles her friendship with Matt (affectionately called Yoga Matt by Lilly’s dad) and Lilly also begins a friendship with a popular movie star, Jayden, who is on the island to film a movie. Both guys are giving her much attention, but which one will make her happy? And can she not scare off both guys by continuing to hang around the other one?
I really liked this book - I laughed out loud many times and I felt like I was on the island along with everyone else. If you haven’t read this series, give it a try - you’ll love it.
I received this book in exchange for an honest review. The opinions stated above are mine without biases.
Even though I am an avid reader, I am seldom compelled to write a review. However, My Kind of Perfect from author Tracy Brogan deserves one. She has truly outdone herself! As with most everything in life, you (should) continue to improve the longer you practice your craft. Tracy Brogan certainly embodies this as her work which was very good from the start has evolved to excellent! Full Disclosure: Be prepared for a book hangover! Whether you binge read or savor every single page, you will not want My Kind of Perfect to end. Book three in the Trillim Bay series, literally grabs you from the very first line and keeps you completely engaged throughout. I did NOT want it to be over! My Kind of Perfect is full to the brim with humor and wit. From the first page onward it kept me laughing out loud. The writing is spectacular, the characters interesting and believable and the situations were all spot on! I also found myself longing to travel to this fictional setting which is based on Mackinac Island. (Guess that's at the top of my travel list now thanks to her descriptions.) I thoroughly enjoyed every single minute of this book and I highly recommend it. Do yourself a huge favor and put this at the top of your reading list, today!
4.5 Stars for My Kind of Perfect ( A Trillium Bay Novel Book 3) Tracy Brogan is a fairly new author to me, in fact this is the first book I have read in this series so I’m prove this book can be read and enjoyed as a stand-alone. Lily is back home nursing a broken heart after walking away from her much older boyfriend. But life is never quite on this small Island and she finds herself thrown into her sisters wedding arrangements as well as becoming an extra on a movie being filmed on the Island. Falling for the star of the movie is one thing but add in falling for a local as well and you get a interesting love triangle. If you love small town romances with families who love to give their advice and plenty of local gossip this is the book for you. My Kind of Perfect ticked my boxes, I smiled I giggled, I swooned and I sighed as I took a trip to Trillium Bay. I fell in love with this Island as well as its residents and I’m looking forward to playing catch-up with the previous books in the series. This is an entertaining read with wonderful characters and I highly recommend you one click this gem.
Thank you to Netgalley and the author for the ARC.
If you want a light, vacation inspired read with movie stars and minimal conflict, than you may feel differently but this book was not for me. The most difficult thing in Lilly's life is that too many men love her - her much older ex-boyfriend, a movie star, and a former model turned yoga loving town hottie. After moving home to her island in Michigan town, Lilly navigates finding herself and a job, while being a highly sought after extra on the set of the movie that has set up camp for the summer. The most drama Lilly encounters is (for lack of better phrase) slut-shaming gossip in town because how *dare* she go on dates (and only dates may I add) with DIFFERENT men. I could forgive this if Lilly stood up to the gossip in any way but instead, she acts in ways as to not instigate additional talk. Conflict is resolved within a matter of pages and our heroine really goes through no real trials or self discovery. She just has a wealth of avenues in careers and love, and chooses the best option.
Lily returns home a little worse for wear after a short-lived pre- midlife crisis and is now trying to figure out what's next. She meets sweet, thoughtful Matt who's got his own baggage that he hauled along with him to Trillium Bay .Then she also has an unusual interaction with larger than life Jayden and now she has a dilemma.Recurrent encounters between her and these two men has Lily faltering in making a decision as to who she wants to have in her life long-term.The community involvement in everyone's lives and the camaraderie between them makes for an entertaining ,heart-warming read. Stealing the show was the grandmother and the grand-daughter,both of whom I could not get enough of.The descriptive imagery provided of the town and its inhabitants makes it very easy to visualize the enclave and the events that take place there. This was a slow, steady read with bits of irreverent humor interspersed throughout and the ending was satisfying.Go ahead and grab this one you won't be disappointed.
This is the third book in the fun Trillium Bay series, which takes place on a fictional island community very closely resembling Mackinac Island in Michigan. I spent a summer working on Mackinac, so it was fun reading about places I’ve been (though the names were changed). It really made the reading experience even more rich and enjoyable. You don’t need to have visited Mackinac to enjoy this book, but you should definitely go if you get the opportunity!
If you’re read the first two books, which I would recommend, the fun and familiar characters are back. I liked seeing their stories pick up where the second book left off. This book introduces a new cast of characters, who are on island to film a movie. I don’t normally enjoy famous people stories, but this one worked for me because it was still mainly about the island and its inhabitants.
Tracy Brogan knows how to make you laugh and also pull at your heart strings. I’d love to see a fourth book about Emily’s daughter Chloe all grown up.
Thanks to the author for the opportunity to read and review this book.
A wonderful addition to this series. Lilly comes home to Trillium Bay after her “scandalous” (because in a small town everyone has an opinion and your own doesn’t really matter) relationship with Tag is over. She was looking for a happily ever after, a family and a partner who lived up to his promises while he was looking for a trophy wife and had no problem going back on his word with no thought or concern about how it would impact Lilly. Upon her return to Wenniway Island , while figuring out what is next up for her she starts working for her sisters home renovation company. There is a lot going on on their small island and Lilly gets caught up in in figuring out what is best for her. Who should she pick? Matt, the transplant with a heart of gold, abundant kindness and maybe one of the nicest people ever or movie heart throb Jayden. What life does she want and who will bring her true happiness? In true Tracy Brogan fashion she takes us on a fun, witty, kind, thoughtful journey filled with family, love, old and new and possibilities for the future. This was a truly enjoyable read.
We follow Tracy as she returns home from a breakup with a man that his her dads age. Two handsome men enter the picture. One is a famous actor who is in town filming a movie. There is much buzz as most residents want to be extras in the film. Including Lilly. Everyone around Lilly and Jayden can sense that there is an attraction there. Especially since Hayden seems to have signaled her out.
Emily is asked to do a nude scene where she will be filmed from behind walking into a lake with the intent to kill herself (for the movie). However, when Lilly gets to the set for the nude scene, she finds out som significant information about the scene was omitted. Lilly is strong willed, loyal and Brave.
The other Male Live interest is Matt. Also known as Yoga Marr. He is very laid back about life. He just goes with the flow. However when trusting Lilly and feelings for her, it gets to be too much. So he fleas the home he has to go be with his Gran grandma.
What source of love will win out in the end??
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
After the breakup of her May-December romance, Lilly is back in Trillium Bay, unsure what to do next. She takes a job assisting at her sister's construction business. There, she develops a friendship with former model Matt. There's an attraction between them, but she's not ready to start dating again.
Things get more complicated when a production company comes to Trillium Bay to film for a few weeks. Hollywood star Jayden chats her up, and Lilly can't help enjoying his attention. Is it wrong for her to spend time with both men while she's getting over her last relationship? Could one of them be her future?
The trouble with love triangles is, sometimes readers end up rooting for the wrong guy. That always seems to happen to me, and it happened again in this book. Apart from that, this is a fun book, just like the first two novels in the series. While it can be read as a standalone, it's probably more enjoyable if you read the series in order.
4.7 stars This is the first book I have read by the author and it is the third in The Trillium Bay Novel series. It can be read as a standalone but I am going to go back and read the first two books that have Lilly’s sisters’ stories. Lilly is the youngest sister and she returns home after ending a brief relationship with an older man who is the father of her sister’s fiancé. As she begins to question her life and tries to find the missing pieces, she meets Matt, a yoga aficionado and Jayden, a Hollywood heartthrob. Matt is the kind of man who would share Lilly’s hometown values while Jayden would allow Lilly to live outside of her comfort zone. Who will she choose or will her past swoop in and reclaim what was lost? Overall, this is one enjoyable summer read with humor and will have anyone falling in love with the island of Trillium Bay. I recommend this book. I volunteered to read a copy of this book provided by Netgalley.
"So, for those of us keeping score, Lilly-vanilli went from having no boyfriend at all last spring, to having a rich sugar daddy who showed her the world from the deck of his yacht; then she dumped him; and now, two weeks later, she's dating not only the island's sweetest, sexiest yoga instructor but also ultra-mega-movie-star Jayden Pierce."
Well, when you put it that way.... Lilly knows how this SOUNDS, but the reality is not quite as glamorous. Yes, she was dating Tag, who was rich and older. That is over now. As far as her dating Matt and/or Jayden Pierce? She wasn't technically dating either one. But there was definitely potential.
When Lilly came back into town after her break up with Tag, she did not expect so much excitement and drama to be happening in Trillium Bay. She's back to stay and everything else is totally up in the air.
I adore that characters of Trillium Bay - a wonderful story!
