This interactive board book teaches little ones about the heart, one of the body's most vital organs, and the role it plays in maintaining life. Through words and pictures, this book for children captures the imagination, stimulates curiosity, and facilitates a love for science in the next generation.

Cardiology for Babies by Dr. Haitham Ahmed is an informative read for all learners. The author brilliantly presents biology to the curious young reader in a format they can easily understand and enjoy. The visuals add depth to this well-presented book.
Having read the book to young readers their comments are as follows:
⎫ May I borrow it… ⎫ Read it again… ⎫ Like the colourful pictures…
This reference book will be enjoyed by all including the reluctant reader. Looking forward to reading the next book in the Little Doctors series.
I was skeptical about explaining the workings of the heart to my 4-year-old. But I was amazed at how much he was able to understand with the help of Cardiology for Babies! He was hooked to the book and took great interest in looking at the different parts of the heart and how the oxygen exchange happens.
Illustrations are clear and the accompanying text is uncomplicated, easy to understand. It's also written engagingly, keeping in mind that it's meant for little children.
I was hoping to see more about the arteries and veins since there were full-body illustrations showing red and blue blood vessels. My child had questions about it after he'd understood how the four chambers of the heart work.
I'm looking forward to other books by Dr. Haitham. Thank you to Booktasters for connecting me with the author!
I received this book from the author through Booktasters to read and review.
Want your children to understand the basics of how the heart functions and how oxygen enters and leaves the body? Then, I definitely recommend this book. Dr. Ahmed explains in a very simple way the different chambers of the heart and their functions in a way that is sure to be remembered by children. It's a smart way to educate curious children at that very young age, and the illustrations and interactive board will leave the children re-reading the book several times.
After reading "Neurology for Babies", I am looking forward to reading other books Dr. Ahmed might have for children.
This one does a pretty good job at explaining a complex concept in an easy to understand way, which is really the goal of these kinds of books. The illustrations of the heart were good, but I wasn't a fan of the other artwork. But I guess the heart illustrations were the most important part, so I'm just being picky.
There are a lot of things to like about 'Cardiology for Babies'. Foremost is the content. Dr. Ahmed carefully explains the four compartments of the heart and why each are important in a language that is easy to understand. While the book is designed as a board book for small children, the information it contains also works as a great starting point for older children (5-6 year olds). In my household we further explored the valves of the heart and why we have those after reading 'Cardiology for Babies'! The illustrations used are perfect for the content. They are large, colourful and simple. It is easy to identify the compartment being discussed and visualize either where the blood has come from or is going. Additionally, the children depicted in the book are from diverse origins, which is fabulous. I wish all children's books were so aware! Lastly, Dr. Ahmed incorporates a few basic experiments or 'try this at home' activities to help reinforce the information being shared and to make the book more hands on for young learners. This is a perfect book to introduce some basic human biology. I will definitely be checking out some of the author's other 'Little Doctor' books.
Very cool & cute. Love the concept of “Little Doctors” and I think talking about science early on in child development is important, even just seeing the visual pictures and making the connection to the body. I think a basic understanding of science can foster higher levels of creativity because they are exercising “imagining” where these organs are in the body through imagery. Children are very right-brained naturally and they start to connect the left-brain with help from adults and books like these, I think this is great!
I like that the book is written by a doctor and will be fun to tell children this.
The only improvement would be instead of writing “the right ventricle is on the left side of the page” for really young ones, toddlers, etc., I think it would be better to just have an arrow pointing to the part of the heart to make it easier to find, more basic and visual for really young ones. I think it would be easier for them to follow.
I will definitely buy the hard copy and I am excited to read the other two in this series as well!
This book is a fantastic present for any occasion! Babies are curious, love things to hold and look through over and over again.
It's a colourful book with simple words in a sturdy format. Good to read to Babies and toddlers, young children. Soon they know every word in it. Any mother knows that children pick up habits at a very early stage. It's a wonderful way to introduce reading and some fundamental knowledge of how our body works.
This a great little book for nursery, play schools and early years in school. This book shows the very basics of the heart and its function.
The author via Booktasters provided a copy of the eBook in exchange for an honest review. My thoughts are my own. I think it's an ideal book for explaining a complex topic matter to children. The images are simple and bright, and the wording is simple and easy to follow, with complex medical terms broken down so they can be easily understood. It is also interactive in that it engages with children by asking them to feel their hearts or take in a deep breath. I would recommend this for children aged up to about 8 or so, even though it is named for babies, it is a good introduction to the cardio system for a range of ages. I look forward to showing it to my niece when she is older.
The book shows in a very simple way how the heart works as a pump, receiving and sending blood to the whole body. Explains the function of each of your chambers: Right atrium: collects blood from the body Right ventricle: sends blood to the lung Left atrium: receives blood with oxygen from the lung Left ventricle: sends blood with oxygen to the body. It also reports the importance of the lung in blood oxygenation during breathing.
“The left ventricle is the strongest chamber. It pump all your blood with oxygen to the rest of your body!
Haitham Ahmed's book "Cardiology for babies" is a very impressive and well-explained book for kids. This book step to step illustrates how our heart works in a very manageable and pretty way. The pictures are attractive and are with very good quality which makes the book more interesting to read. This book instructs kid about basic human biology and it has a very good way to teach a kid about human physiology. According to me, this is the best gift for any child.
