Once again, our hearts and imaginations are captivated by the Bloom Family.
Octavia Bloom and the Missing Key is a family favorite in our home, and we received an ARC for Beatrice Bloom and the Star Crystal. My kids kept asking for another chapter and before we knew it, we had finished.
If you're looking for an amazing gift for that young reader, or a magical bedtime story, grab these books. You won't be disappointed. I've already ordered the hardback of this book to sit next to Octavia. The books themselves are gorgeous as well.
The charming series continues with Beatrice, the next Bloom family member to lead a magical adventure. Beautiful world building and lovable characters.
Wow! I’ve been looking forward to this 2nd book ever since finishing the 1st, & loving it so much! So glad I finally got to read it. It was just as amazing! Can’t say a lot, so not to spoil the 1st. But we’re following Beatrice’s POV this time, who is Octavia’s(whose POV the 1st book was from)cousin. The family once again goes through the fairy door, & another magical adventure begins. We have old enemies, new enemies; & old friends & new ones. Doran has my heart, as well as Caeruleus. Love them soooo much. Everything I loved about the 1st, I still loved w/this one. Including the glossary of all character names in the back, w/the names meaning-& how perfectly the names match w/their owner. Every little detail was paid attention to by the author, & it shows. This was full of magic, danger, suspense, family, & adventure. Highly recommend both books! There will be 5 total in the series, & book 3(Martha & the Glass Compass) comes out in April. I loved the 1st book so much, I bought a copy, even w/the author sending me one for review already. I bought this one before it even came out! Lol preorder! Absolutely beautiful cover again! There’s also a map & illustrations above each chapter heading like the 1st book as well.💜
~A wedding to attend in fairyland ~A princess is fairynapped ~A rescue plan ~The Bloom kids are thrust into the thick of it ~Trusting yourself ~Courage
A split second decision. One courageous step by Beatrice and one giant leap for magic. One small step to do the impossible is always possible. It’s OK to be afraid.
This story belongs to Beatrice. It is action packed and plotting with so many twisty turns. There’s is a plan and Beatrice finds herself at the crux of it. This part of the story is all about character building and the defining of Beatrice. I read this book in two days as it was difficult to put down because it was soooo good and my 10 year old granddaughter wanted to read it next!
It was a really good book and I really liked it when Beatrice retrieves her wand and follows the blue light in her mind through her arm and onto the top of the wand.
My favourite character was Nova because she seems very brave.
I can't wait until I can read Martha Bloom's book next!
Beatrice Bloom and the Star Crystal takes us on another adventure into Fairy Land, this time with the entire Bloom family in tow. They face new villains, as well as former foes, in a mettle testing battle to protect the friends they (and I) have grown to love. Tudor’s fairytales are wonderful stories to share with your children, and enjoy on your own!
More adventures with the Blooms. The story moves along with lots of adventure, and a few surprises. I loved book 2 and this series. I will wait patiently for the next book in the Bloom adventures through the fairy door.
Although I grabbed the Kindle version for myself, I'm definitely going to gift the paperback to my cousin for her 7th birthday! I believe the "Through the Fairy Door" series is a must-read for all children as it portrays the importance of family love and having courage without feeling preachy.
(It also contains unicorns, fairy realms and a magical wedding that doesn't quite go to plan!)
I already have the next instalment waiting, and I'll be back in Fairy Land before long!
A fantastic continuation to the series, I actually think I love this book even more than the first. A perfect family friendly read, with tonnes of magic, unicorns and much more. Showing the importance of family and working together as it says in the synopsis courage, friendship and deceit collide in this spellbinding adventure and I couldn't put it better myself. Cannot wait to see what happens in the rest of the series ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
A wonderful continuation of the fairy door series. It was great to be reunited with the Blooms again, and I loved a different character taking the centre stage. My son (9) also enjoyed Otto being part of the gang this time. Full of magic and adventure, this is an exciting and heartwarming bedtime read.
Like the first i could hardly put it down. Page after page took me to a magically land of fairies and unicorns. If i could give this 20 stars i would. Off to start the 3rd book. Thank you estelle for my reason to escape reality page by page.
The Blooms are heading back through the fairy door! After receiving an invitation to Evony and Soren’s wedding during Christmas, the Blooms are quick to accept the offer to see their friends! But, Beatrice is somewhat apprehensive: last time she went through the fairy door, she was held captive by the malicious Nesirn! What could happen now?
In the newest edition of Through the Fairy Door, Beatrice takes the center stage (in contrast to her cousin, Octavia, in Octavia Bloom and the Missing Key). In a story filled with multiple moments of deceit and fear, Beatrice is forced to take a central role: not only due to her role as a Bloom, but also as someone with powerful magic. But Beatrice doesn’t have the confidence that her cousin, Octavia, has; in fact, she is scared. Yet, when the fate of her friends depends on her, Octavia knows she has to act…and fast!
This is a new, endearing tale that takes us back through the fairy door. I was so excited to go back with Beatrice! Her character really interested me in the first book: her potential for magic is strong, and it is only made more impressive throughout the story. Not only can she perform feats equal to one of an evil king, but she also thrives on the friendship with her sister, cousins, and the unicorns. The lesson ultimately is a simple one: believe in yourself, have confidence, and you can defeat even those much more powerful than you!
While I am positive that children will continue to love the adventures of the Bloom Family, the second book is slightly less magical. Not that it lacks magic – it has even more than the first book! But as with many second books, the struggle is keeping the magic going. There is so much happening in the fairy world, that in some parts I had to pay far closer attention. Between the diplomatic relations with the fairies, the hierarchy of the unicorns, and the large cast, to some extent it felt like multiple plots were wrapped up in a single book.
But, that’s not to say the story is without it’s merits…because it is still a wonderful tale! Beatrice, although not quite as spunky as her cousin Octavia, has the heart of all the other Blooms. She wants to do what is right, protect her friends, and learn. As she gains her confidence, her magic flourishes…and she can even save the day!
Without a doubt, I’ll be venturing back Through the Fairy Door again. I cannot wait to see what the family will encounter next!
