Easy read. Was more interesting towards the beginning. Meh on the ending.

I was the recipient of a free copy provided by the author through a random selection process. This did not impact my review which is obvious since so far I am the only one who rated it with 3 stars. This is a good, readable story of the author's time in Hollywood. I appreciate the fact that she did not overly name drop which is the norm when folks write about Hollywood. She was upfront about her challenges and successes. For her own mental health, I was glad to read she left California.

I received this book back in April and sadly it took me a really long time to actually finish, but not due to it's lack of interest. I received a physical copy and I do much better reading e-books.

I finally picked this book back up again recently and devoured the last half in no time flat. The pace of the book was good and the author does a good job of setting the scene. I really felt like I could relate to Amy and couldn't wait to see how this story of hers ended.

I remember that I kept thinking, how does this title relate to the book and when I got to that point in the book I could finally stop asking myself that question. For some reason the name of the book and the story weren't jiving for me. I think for me, I was reading it more for the yoga/spiritual journey and the Hollywood aspect was just added commentary. The title implies there is a spiritual journey, but the book cover and part describing the story under the title made me question if this was the kind of book I has hoped/thought it was.

I am so glad I read this book. It really did take me on a spiritual journey and I am always telling myself I need to do yoga more. So, tonight after finishing this book, I decided to channel Amy and "just add yoga" tonight before bed. Thank you.

What a delightful book and a delightful author! I was intrigued to read about Hollywood life from someone who has been there. Amy Karl is a very relatable person - partly because I am from the Chicago area, but she just seems like a regular person as well. Tackling the book from the dual perspectives of the chakras and from her loves was an interesting way to go. I felt for her as she suffered through each relationship and its ups and downs and to me, that is the sign of a good book. I am so happy she seems at peace in her life now. I won this book from a Booktrib contest and what a surprise I got to receive the book with a personal note from Amy. What a bonus!!

I chose this book as a vacation read and I loved it! Amy Karl takes you through her life with vulnerability, candor and an open heart. She's a fantastic story teller and I hope she'll write more. I would recommend this one to women of all ages.

Why write this unremarkable & humorless story? The author is a Hollywood outsider, not insider. Her romatic history was very immature and high school. A lot of time spent sipping wine...she may have a drinking problem. Two stars is being generous.

My wife purchased this book several years ago. I started reading it one day and (as a guy) I hesitate to say that I REALLY liked it. I was thoroughly engaged and the author's writing style kept me involved. I would recommend this to almost anyone.

The book was a quick and easy read. Amy Karl is very relatable. I thoroughly enjoyed the first two thirds of the book but the last third was plodding and a little on the dull side. Overall a B-.

I found this to be a page turner. The author is hysterical and authentic. The author is a beautiful and kind person and I found it reassuring to know that no matter how pretty, wealthy, privileged, etc. we believe a woman to be, she's just as human as the rest of us and struggles to find herself, her way, and love.
