I fell in love with Chloe Fisher when we were only kids. I knew then, just like I know now, there will never be another woman in the world for me but her. A silly childhood pact to marry each other if we were still single and thirty kept us together…until I messed up, hurting the only woman I’ve ever truly cared about. I swore if I ever got a second chance, I would make things right, prove to Chloe I’ve changed, that I’m not the same guy who broke her heart years ago.
History has a way of repeating itself, and now that Chloe is finally giving me what I’ve always wanted, I’m terrified that maybe Chloe will always be the one that got away. That maybe, just maybe, she’s entirely too good for me.
I’ve never been one to give up, and I’ll keep fighting for her—for us, even though the universe is doing its very best to keep us apart. It’s true what they say: desperate times call for desperate measures. And I’m willing to do whatever it takes to make her mine.
Emily Goodwin is the New York Times and USA Today Bestselling author of over a dozen of romantic titles. Emily writes the kind of books she likes to read, and is a sucker for a swoon-worthy bad boy and happily ever afters.
She lives in the midwest with her husband and two daughters. When she's not writing, you can find her riding her horses, hiking, reading, or drinking wine with friends.
Emily is represented by Julie Gwinn of the Seymour Agency.
Emily Goodwin has done it again with book 2 in her Silver Ridge series, Desperate Times! Which is perfectly named, because after years of longing Chloe and Sam are together and DESPERATELY in love! Unfortunately, Sam is also desperately in need of some good vibes sent his way, because he just got some unexpected news. If you’ve read book one, then I’m sure you already know what the news is, but in this book he essentially grapples with how this will change his and Chloe’s life now that they’ve finally found their way to each other. He knows that Chloe is one of a kind, and can handle anything with grace, but his news is a lot. Can their love survive it?
It’s a crazy stressful and angsty read, because we are reading these two people who are so in love and so passionate for each other. But there’s this weight looming over them that one of them knows about, and the other is oblivious to. It’s a lot, but the author really makes you feel Sam’s struggle and also that worry about how Chloe will take the news.
Of course this is an Emily Goodwin read, so it’s not solely about Chloe and Sam. We spend some more time with the Harris family, get a bit more info on Mason and Jacob, and we even get some fun moments with our favorite Dawson sister and her loving hubby! I love how Emily connects these series, and really deepens the readers connections with her main characters with her older ones.
All in all this was a great read. I loved Chloe and Sam’s story, and I’m so happy that this author decided long ago that Sam was worthy of his own story. I have to agree, he took us on a ride, but totally worthy! I’m also excited to see what she has in store for the rest of the Harris crew!!
If I'm being honest, there's quite a bit of the book that just feels repetitive and a few things seem somewhat drawn out; leaving the book/story stagnant for a majority of the read.
I think Emily ALWAYS delivers on her ability to build-up side characters and, in my opinion, because she nailed that aspect of this story as well it was a total series saver. I’m still 100% excited to pickup the next book.
I’d have to say Sam and Chloe’s story wasn’t what I’d generally expect to get from Emily and it was a let down for me, but I’m hopeful for the future of this series.
This is the continuation to Sam and Chloe's story.
WARNING: You must read book one before reading this one.
This is a combination of second chance romance, in-love with best-friend's brother and childhood crush trope all rolled into one.
This was a slow burn for me... Sam practically spent the bulk of this book keeping Chloe in the dark. I understand his reasons but still, nobody wants to be blindsided by a secret that big. And for someone who finished medical school, he was a little bit dense when dealing with ex.
Chloe also practically spent a good chunk of the book being sick... *sigh*
Desperate Times, Emily Goodwin’s second book in her new Silver Ridge series, is a story of second chances. This book continues the story of childhood friends, Sam and Chloe. In Book 1, Backup Plan, Sam and Chloe fought the good fight and finally admitted their long-time feelings for each other. In that book, they confess their undying love with the book ending with Sam being met with a shock from his past. Desperate Times is more of Sam and Chloe’s undying love except that Sam takes much of the book to reveal his secret. I really, really wanted to like these first two books because I enjoyed reading, to various degrees, Goodwin’s Dawson Family series. It is there where I decided to read Goodwin’s Silver Ridge series as these are the brothers of Dean’s wife, Rory. Alas, I am heartbroken because I simply didn’t love these books. I struggled through Backup Plan, hoping that Desperate Times would ameliorate my struggle with that book. Unfortunately, it only underscores the idea that, I believe, Emily Goodwin needs stronger beta-readers. I hate to write those words because I understand that this book is one of Goodwin’s “babies.” However, given more care, this book and its predecessor have a ton of potential.
For one, I don’t think Sam and Chloe needed a duet. There is quite a bit of repetition in the two books. In the first book, the struggle is allowing themselves to fall for each other. It takes most of that book for them to accept their interest and for Chloe to forgive Sam for the choices he made out of immaturity. Goodwin draws our their chemistry. In fact, between the two books, that is what Goodwin does well. However, that is also an issue, especially in Desperate Times, because Sam’s only three focuses in this second book are bedding Chloe, telling her constantly how much he adores her physical attributes in the bedroom (read between the lines here), professing his “I love yous”, and worrying over needing to share his secret. This is it. As a physician, he unravels too easily even though he claims to handle the pressure of being a trauma anesthesiologist well. He is written “uneven” for this story.
Similarly, I am not a huge fan of Chloe’s. Between reminding us of her eccentricity and her acceptance of it, along with her own constant professions of love for Sam, she isn’t a heroine that I felt invested in. Yes, Goodwin attempts to draw her as an independent, self-made woman, but this characterization is repetitive throughout Desperate Times AND Backup Plan.
Additionally, the story doesn’t really go anywhere. Desperate Times reads like a daily log of activities with some inciting incidents that never build in gravity. It takes Sam until 88% into Desperate Times to finally share his secret with Chloe. Yes, I understand the want for authors to build to a climax, but the rising action of this romance reads flat. Either Sam and Chloe are engaging in bedroom activities or Sam is worrying over his relationship with Chloe or they are remembering the past while doing present activities. It’s a merry-go-found for Chloe and Sam, and it causes the story to drag. Even more, Chapter 27 and Chapter 28 are the same chapter.
I hate writing every word of this review because I read for enjoyment and to promote authors I’ve enjoyed in the past. For me, this book and the Backup Plan are not the normal caliber of Emily Goodwin. It was difficult to read this book because Sam and Chloe have the potential to be one of Goodwin’s best couples. Unfortunately, that potential isn’t realized in Desperate Times.
I think the thing that most stood out to me in the series was Sam and Chloe's love for each other! They’ve definitely had a rocky road and I think it just pushes them in a way that makes them appreciate each other. I also think that Chloe deserves the happiness that she gets. I love that she took her nerdiness, that she got bullied for, and turned it into something so successful! It’s just a really feel good story. Sam‘s family is wonderful, and I can’t wait to see more of them in the next few books of the Silver Ridge series. I am totally getting Dawson Family vibes and I loved that series so very much! Thank you to Emily Goodwin and Valentine PR for an eARC in exchange for an honest review!
This book basically could’ve just been an extra 100 pages tacked onto the end of book #1 and saved a lot of time. 90% of the major conflict could’ve been solved with a simple conversation (my biggest pet peeve).
For a doctor, Sam really is dumb. What his ex was up to, was annoyingly obvious and I saw through her act immediately.
⭐️ 3.5 "I'll Always Love You" Stars ⭐️ After the troubling ending of Backup Plan, I needed to get my hands on Desperate Times to get answers! This continuation of Chloe and Sam's story was lovely and romantic, but left me a little bit on my appetite. Not that it wasn't good, but there wasn't a big plot line to keep me hooked. You could say that I was a little bored at times with the story going in circle. Nonetheless, I appreciated the beauty of this couple's relationship.
With the news dropped on Sam in the previous novel, he's conflicted about how to breach this hard situation with the love of his life. It's clear that the man is so far gone for Chloe and he doesn't want to lose her when he finally has his chance with her. While their relationship is new, their feelings have been festering for years and they can finally live them in the open. They're truly so beautiful and sexy together. Chloe is the same awkward yet endearing woman and Sam is seriously dreamy. I enjoyed how they're so mature and don't bring full drama in their conflicts. They want the same kind of future and believe in their love!
While Desperate Times wasn't exactly what I was expecting, it certainly ended being satisfying with humor, steamy encounters and sweetness. I loved how Chloe and Sam's relationship blossomed so gorgeously! The side characters were amazing as always. I can't wait for more of the Silver Ridge Series that's for sure!
** ARC received in exchange for an honest review **
Desperate Times by Emily Goodwin was the continuation of The Backup Plan and the second book in Chloe and Sam’s story. I would say this book was so appropriately named because I was definitely desperate at many times throughout this book. After a knock on the door puts at risk everything Chloe and Sam finally have going for them, the future they finally have in front of them, it was desperate at many times for sure. My heart was breaking, it was aching. I was in tears wondering would Sam and Chloe ever get the future they had spent years longing for.
The future they so desperately deserved! This book put me through the realm of emotions while still delivering what Emily does best in her small town romances. She packs hella hotness and witty banter for days. The camaraderie and relationship between the siblings and their parents is phenomenal and never fails to make me laugh out loud and simultaneously wish I could transport myself into their world. This book had just enough drama, sex and angst mixed in to keep me frustrated, and totally engaged throughout the entire book. I never stopped holding out hope for my sweet couple. Sam and Chloe’s duet is a MUST READ!! Four Fantastically Fabulous Stars!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I cannot wait for more from the Silver Ridge Series!!
Desperate Times is book two in Sam and Chloe's story. And I'm halfway sure she named this book Desperate Times because it was desperate times waiting for it to show up. Goodwin is a one-click must read author for me.
Sam and Chloe's relationship is in a good place. They love each other and are extremely happy. Then a knock on Sam's front door changes the course of everything. His past becomes his present and his life is now turned upside down. He doesn't know how to tell Chloe. With each page that he didn't tell Chloe turns I grew more antsy. I just felt like that decision to not say anything was going to blow up in his face. Secrets in relationships just shouldn't be.
Chloe is as understanding as ever. She took Sam's news in stride. But I also wasn't surprised when she made her decision and did what she did. She may have said she wasn't hurt by the news Sam gave her, but the fact he waited so long had to hurt.
And let's talk about Sam's past. I knew from the start it was a lie. The reactions given when Sam said certain things just sent warning bells to my ears. While Sam had his doubts he was too much of a gentleman to voice them. He allowed something to come in between him and the love of his life because he is just that kind of huy. He would never turn his back on responsibility.
Sam and Chloe were meant to be. It wouldn't have mattered if what Sam was told is true or not, they would have figured it out. They're like magnets, no matter how long they're apparent they always find their way back to each other.
Desperate Times is the perfect conclusion to Sam and Chloe's story. Emily Goodwin just has a way with words that sucks you in from start to finish. And even when they're done still wanting more. I love she gave us a small of the Dawsons.
Emily Goodwin delivers a great plot with amazing writing and characters that make you fall in love with them. Relatable characters are a must and Goodwin has mastered this. I cannot wait to see what she gives us in book 3.
I'm probably in the minority here, but I love the ow pregnant trope. I probably wouldn't like it constantly, but I enjoy the back and forth drama of baby mama and heroine of the story.
Unfortunately, this just didn't fit that for me. It was pretty bland and drawn out.
We are first introduced to the drama in the beginning of the book, then it's basically a waiting game of 200 pages for all the main characters to brought up to speed... There was a lot of repetitiveness that just dragged out the inevitable. So much unused space for drama that probably should have been there, like Goodwin wanted to do OTT drama, but could never take the plunge.
It left me wondering why it was added to the book in the first place instead of just doing a sweet romance. I love the mass drama in books, but if done well, a sweet romance is great too. This was just a sweet romance with an attempt at drama which made you fight a constant need to skim and get to the point.
However, I absolutely loved the side characters and am still looking forward to their books. I also enjoyed that Chloe writes a paranormal romance series which is a play off of Goodwin's Thornhill books (which are beyond excellent by the way). I love Goodwin as a writer, this book just fell short for me in the plot.
Desperate Times by Emily Goodwin is the second book in her Silver Ridge series and is the conclusion of Chloe and Sam's story.
The book start exactly where the first end, Sam finding a secret that will change his life forever, and more that everything it can change his relationship with Chloe, so he find himself doubting if he should tell her about his secret or wait and see if everything is true, but then they start spending more and more time together and it starts getting difficult to tell Chloe about the secret because he is scared he will lose her, and also both are so busy with work and Chloe getting amazing offers for more projects that he doesnt want her to get sad or end their relationship.
They make their relationship official with their families and friends and everything looks great for them until Sam is so trouble about the secret that he decides he needs to telll Chloe because she deserves to know. When he does that Chloe is in shock she didnt expect that so she ask for time to think about everything. But if you want to know what happen and how they find their HEA after the secret and their crazy and busy jobs, you need to read this book as soon as is available!
If you have read the first book you will want to read this one because we finally know what happen with Chloe and Sam. And also I'm excited for the next book in this series!!
I received a free ARC copy of this book from the author prior to release and am voluntarily leaving a review.
" This is book 2 in a duet. I liked this book much more than the first story but I think that is because in this story we really get to explore Sam and Chloe's relationship.
In the first book it was more about them finally admitting their feelings and how they get to that point. By the time they get together and admit their feelings they have to split up because he has to go home to Chicago and her to LA so while they agree to a long distance relationship. I felt the I love you's happened so fast and I didn't get to see them in their relationship. Book 1 did end up with a cliff of sorts with Sam's ex coming back and the why on that is further explored in this story as well as the relationship between Sam and Chloe.
The ex drama is really not the center of this story. It is Chloe and Sam and how they in real life work to make their relationship work and truly by the end of this story I saw how much they loved each other. And thats why I loved it. We see them meeting each others friends, we see them date, we see them hanging out together and we get many sex scenes. It was an intimate look at their relationship and I absolutely loved that about this story. "
When you get a second chance to have the LOVE of you life you will do everything in your power not to have it taken away from you !!
Sam is head over heals in LOVE Chloe and vica versa even with living in two different states and time zones they try to make it work only when a certain Ex shows up and throws a wrench into Sam’s plans to make Chloe his for life.
Sam has a decision to make to tell Chloe his secret or just wait till the time is right but when they go back to there home town and Chloe ends up in the hospital with the flu his doctor instinct takes charge and he holds off again. Chloe in the mean time get the job opportunity of a life time and isn’t sure she wants to take it when it will mean she will be across the ocean from Sam for a long stretch of time. But then again she might need the distance after what he tells her ....
If have ever believed in forever this is your book to read !! Yes there are ups and downs but this is what makes your heart jump and race when you read this installment of Silver Ridge !!
Love these brothers and there banter !! Can’t wait for more .. a Doctor , Vet and a Police Officer what more could you want ?? Loved it !!
I have been waiting for the conclusion to Sam and Chloe’s story since reading that cliffhanger of an ending to The Back Up Plan. A major bomb was dropped in Sam’s life and he was finally pursing his feelings with Chloe.
I love Sam and Chloe and their relationship. Sam is sweet and caring when it comes to her. He is supportive and caring and that showed so much through the story. I love Chloe. She is passionate about what she does and it shows through everything she does. It is so easy to root for Sam and Chloe when it comes to their past and history together. Plus, add in the undeniable chemistry and they are perfect. Minus the elephant in the room.
That elephant frustrated me so much throughout the story. I felt myself just constantly yelling at Sam to just tell Chloe. The more he prolongs everything the worse things could get. She deserved to know from the very start. However, when she finally did find out things progressed quickly from there.
While Sam and Chloe’s story may be over for now, I can’t wait for the rest of the Harris brother’s stories!
Desperate Times is the second book in the Silver Ridge series and the book starts right where The Backup Plan ended.
This book starts with a surprise to Sam. But it’s not a happy one and it might change his life forever. After many years Sam and Chloe are finally together and Sam doesn't want to lose her. He is such a tentative boyfriend and makes everything to take care of Chloe and makes her happy. Chloe is a well known author and just got an offer she usually can’t refuse, but it will tie her down to Los Angeles and she won’t be able to travel to Chicago as much as she wants. Both their futures might change drastically but can their new love survive this?
Sam and Chloe are so in love! This book had drama and really sexy times. I just love them together! I must say I was a bit frustrated while reading this book because it took till almost the end that they talked about what happened in the beginning and it was only for like a chapter or two. But after all it was a really awesome read and I love Emily’s writing style. I love Sam's brothers and hopefully we will get stories of them in the future! I really can’t wait for the next book in the Silver Ridge series!
I am sorry but I felt desperate while I was reading the book. I am not impressed by Sam's behavior in this book and Chloe deserves so much than his kind-hearted. Sam should be resolute about a paternity test and tell Chloe faster than this... well, he wants to tell her in person but hello, right now we have video chat programmes and this news is huge and surely has an effect on their relationship. Oh... the author gives us Sam's reasons but still. Besides, this desperate time is dragging too long so I keep thinking that they are going to be a trilogy which makes me feel more depressed. With all these plots, their story can be writed and ends in one book because Chloe waits too long for Sam to notice her and after she gets him, she still doesn't has her happy ending, poor girl. And the worst is the story ends so abruptly like really? Of course there is an epilogue but it doesn't tell me anything I want to know at all so even if I hate to do this but I decide to give it 3 stars.
3.5 Stars ⭐⭐⭐💫 Desperate Times is a story continuation and must be read after the series starter, Backup Plan.
Overall I enjoyed the second and final part of Chloe and Sam's story. The love was there, and it was strong between the two characters. I loved that, and I loved seeing the interaction between family and friends again. I did find the writing/story structure to be repetitive at times; the plot dragged a little and the climax fell a little flat. There wasn't a huge amount of angst, and there was much less drama than I anticipated, given certain aspects of the storyline and it's "antagonist," if you will. All in all though it was a satisfying conclusion to Chloe and Sam's story, and I would love to read another book created from this world of characters in Silver Ridge.

After the cliffhanger book one left us with I have been dyyyying to get my hands on this book.
There was plenty of tension. Waiting for Sam to drop the bomb on Chloe (whom I absolutely adore) kept me emotionally taut the entire book. My nerves were frazzled by the end. Their love is undeniable. Steamy, sweet, romantic. They are the perfect couple.
The fact that most of the book was focused around a “what if” and something that never eventuated bugged me. Maybe because I already had it in my mind that it was a lie, I’m not sure. I mean, it was by no means a small deal and would have changed the entire course of the relationship - and I can appreciate the emotional struggle Sam had because of the situation - but it really did frustrate me. Stacey frustrated me.
I did like the way Sam cared for Chloe. He is the best. I am very much looking forward to the rest of the series. 3.5 stars
I’m about, to be honest with this review. Because when I first started this book. Lord I was like this book is boring. I was disappointed because I wanted to read it because of how it ended in the first book. I had read other books and put this one on pause. Because I was like maybe if I wait and go back to reading it’ll turn out good. That what happened I was glad that I got to finish this book. I can’t wait for Jacob and Mason's book to come out because I’m so curious about who the females they are going to end up with.
With that being said. I kept thinking that Stacey wasn’t pregnant at all. & Chloe may be pregnant but in the end. Stacey was pregnant and not only that Chloe had the flu...
Plus, Stacey was a liar I knew she was when she told Sam to buy the baby things and she went and got the ultrasound by herself. I was like something not adding up. But he was so worried about Chloe finding out at the time. It never crossed Sam's mind that Stacey may be lying. If it wasn’t for Stacey's mom Michelle showing Sam those ultrasound pictures I don’t think he would’ve found out. I was glad he did. Because Stacey almost ruins his freaking relationship with Chloe. I was glad in the end that they worked things out with each other.
But now I’m just waiting for Sam's brother’s books because I am so curious about their stories...
(ARC Review) This was a pleasant enough read with lots of steam. It’s part two in a duet in which book one ended on a cliffhanger. Part two picks up right where the first one left off as Sam deals with the ramifications of the cliffhanger.
It feels like these two books should have been one. There doesn’t seem to be a reason for a duet. This book had very little plot, it was filled with awkward conversations and inane details.
It would have been a lot more enjoyable to cut out all the unnecessary details and focus on the plot for one cohesive book.
While I liked Sam in the first book his lack of honesty in this one was grating. Chloe is still hung up on being unpopular in high school that it feels unhealthy. That and calling herself awkward seem to be her whole personality.
I've been desperate (pun intended) to get my hands on Emily Goodwin's "Desperate Times" ever since reaching the cliffhanger at the end of "Backup Plan" a few months ago, but the conclusion of Sam and Chloe's story was worth the wait. They were both such likeable, sympathetic characters, and I loved them as a couple. They had fantastic chemistry and there were plenty of steamy scenes in this story to cement their connection. However, there was an undercurrent of anxiety for me as I was reading this book because I knew about the secret Sam was keeping from Chloe, and I was afraid of what would happen to their relationship when it finally came out. Fortunately, they managed to work through everything and ended up in a good place, but it wasn't easy for either of them.
Sam's secret wasn't the only obstacle they faced as Chloe considered the next steps in her career. She was fortunate to have several wonderful opportunities in front of her, but choosing to move forward with one of them in particular would have required her to continue to live apart from Sam. This aspect of the story was a bit frustrating for me because it seemed as if Chloe had made her decision early on, but she continued to agonize over it for most of the book. I understand that it can sometimes be difficult to make big decisions, but it felt like Chloe was making this one a much bigger obstacle than it needed to be when it was pretty clear which way her heart was pulling her.
Overall, I enjoyed "Desperate Times" and Sam and Chloe's story as a whole. It was very easy for me to root for them to overcome all of the obstacles standing in their way and end up together. I would recommend this duet for all fans of contemporary romance, and look forward to picking up future books in the series (hopefully featuring Sam's brothers Jacob and Mason).

Just as Chloe and Sam reconnect and realize love is shared between them, drama appears. Sam had a ‘hook-up’ relationship with Stacey so when she appears telling him she is pregnant with his baby, well, his world shatters. He knows he won’t leave his kid without a father but he doesn’t want to be in Stacey’s life. How does he tell Chloe? This changes the idea of their long-distance relationship. Chloe has a great opportunity presented to her to write a new TV show. This would mean more time away from Sam. Life is great at throwing curve balls, how will Sam and Chloe handle their latest challenges? Will they walk away from love? Or will they embrace love and face the challenges together? I voluntarily read an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.
After devouring the first book, I couldn't wait to get my hands on the conclusion for Sam and Chloe and the conclusion to their story. I loved the chemistry between Chloe and Sam, and how right they are for each other. Of course there's that one source of potential contention that needs to be handled, and while I understood Sam's hesitance on telling Chloe, it also made sense why he didn't want to say anything just yet. We get to experience the emotions both and Chloe are feeling, and even though I had a feeling had one part of the story would go, I still felt some sort of anger when the truth was revealed. A satisfying conclusion and I can't wait to get the stories on Sam's brothers when it's their respective turn in the hot seat.
Emily creates wonderful, hilarious stories and is one of my favorite romance authors! Her romance series are among my favorites and so hard to put down.
That being said, while this is another great story, it needs more thorough editing. Words have been left out, extras added in where they don't belong and chapter 28 is just chapter 27 printed again. While a few here or there is understandable, this book has so many it just can't be overlooked and having to decifer her intentions took away from the flow. The names of dad's girlfriend and the bar in Silver Ridge flip flop throughout and a couple teasers are left unresolved. With more editing, this would be another fantastic story.
Let me start by saying I love Sam and Chloe, I love their story as a whole, and I love Emily Goodwin's writing. Truly, her books are automatic one-click's for me.
With that said, Desperate Times fell a little short of what I was expecting from it. It was a conclusion and story worthy of the set-up in The Back-Up Plan (book 1); but, this one felt rushed at times, and as though there was a hurry to get to the end.
Sam and Chloe were still great characters, the supporting case was fantastic as always, and overall the story really was a good story, but this wasn't the epic conclusion I was expecting. I still recommend both books!
With how The Backup Plan ended, I was dying to get my hands on Desperate Times. Goodwin does not disappoint with this one as you are run through a full range of emotions in this book as well as feeling the love that both Sam and Chloe. I think that is what this installment is all about. Feeling that all encompassing love that these two have even with bombs of reality dropping around them. How Sam deals with his to how Chloe tryings to come to terms with it. Chloe trying to decide where her future lies and so much more. There is a great push and pull in this story that I really love about Goodwin’s writing and honestly, I am dying to know about the rest of the brothers. Bring them on!
Desperate Times is the second title in the Silver Ridge series. After the ending of the Backup Plan I was eagerly awaiting the conclusion to Chloe and Sam’s story. Sam is left conflicted after the revelations relating to his past in the Backup Plan, and Chloe is just as awkward, yet endearing. Their chemistry and connection is undeniable despite the secret that lies between them. An engaging read with equal parts heat, heart and humor. I look forward to future titles in the Silver Ridge series.
Desperate Times is an amazing read. I love the bound Chloe and Sam share. You feel their love grow so much in this one. Sam finds himself in a sticky situation and you feel for him when it comes to holding things in. You feel the doubt Sam goes through from the very start. You feel how much he loves Chloe and does everything he can to protect her from getting hurt. Even with the distance their love is strong. I loved this continuation of the Back Up Plan so much. Sam and Chloe are everything and by reading both books you get it. I really could not get enough of this one. I loved every moment.
