Her tragic destiny was written long before he came into town.

Ellie longs to leave the small town she’s restricted to, but nothing and no one can change her bleak future. Every day is the same, until a trail of bodies is found just inside the town’s borders. When the sexy stranger steps into the bar, her body and hormones thrum on overdrive, making her desperately wish he was there to save her from more than just the killer.

FBI profiler Chandler Peters is broken in all the wrong places and searching for the one person who could save him from himself. Little does he know the urgent call that sends him to help hunt for a serial killer will also lead him to her. Ellie’s mysterious past, wit, and hidden scars speak to him unlike any other, making him wonder if they could save each other.

When all the evidence points to Ellie being in danger, Chandler races to find the killer before the woman who makes him live again becomes the next victim.

*Please note this book DOES contain several triggers (the serial killer does not play nice with others) and detailed mature content. This book is recommended for 18+.

This is a Dark Romantic Suspense, and this is the second book in the Protection series. I really enjoyed this book. It pulled me in and I could not put it down. I loved the characters in this book. There is suspense and some steamy times. I have to note that there is some topics that my upset some people like rape, kidnapping, and of course killing. The suspense in this book keeps you guessing. The writing in this series is so great. Great book and Great series. I re-read this book several times, and I loved it so much.

There is now an audiobook for this book, and I re-read this book again by listening to the audiobook. I liked the narrator, and I really enjoyed the audiobook for this book.

description

Kennedy Mitchell is a must read author for you if you love romantic suspense. She has this seriously impressive ability to deliver the best of both worlds. In Mine to Save, she nailed the adrenaline filled edgy and exhilarating feel along with all the intense and heartfelt emotions. This story captured my heart from the first chapter and never let it go.

FBI profiler Chandler has come to Orin, Texas to help solving a big case. A serial killer is out here kidnapping young females, abusing them every way possible and then killing them. Here he meets Ellie who is unlike any woman he has ever met. She has escaped the cult called the Church and trying to leave behind the darkness and live her life again. She agrees to help Chandler in the case. Their souls call to each other. But what will happen when Ellie's past will destroy the present and possibly the future?

Please read the trigger warnings before starting this story as it handles many sensitive subjects like sexual abuse, gross violence and emotional tortures. I have so much respect for Ellie's character. She had a bad life and she has nothing. Money, name, family, education- nothing. She has a broken heart and confusing feels of gulit, shame and loss. But she is trying so hard everyday. She has so much acceptance and kindness and courage. It's unbelievable. The author beautifully described her struggles and her strengths. I could relate to her pain and happiness instantly. Chandler is just brilliant. My heart cannot take so much of book boyfriend perfection. He is bold. Brave. Caring. Protective. Dominating but with Unlimited softness. Swoon and heat alert! He has own scars and demons. And ironically that's why they fit each other. They have an explosive and all consuming connection. And the chemistry is super super hot. The plot is complex. And the constant twist and turns kept me at the edge of the seat. I stopped breathing and had real panick attacks towards the ending. What I loved most is Chandler helped her and encouraged her but Ellie was her own saviour. That ending was perfect. And it's just amazing how the author brought so many puzzle pieces together perfectly.

Mine to Save by Kennedy Mitchell consumed me from beginning to the end. The suspenseful and fast paced story line kept me glued to the pages and I was scared to even blink! The sweet and intense emotions made my heart ache and swoon. Chandler and Ellie will have a piece of my heart forever.

[I received a digital arc for an honest review]

I am a huge fan of Kennedy L Mitchell's writing and the characters she creates. When I saw she was writing a new suspenseful romance I couldn't wait to get my hands on it! Mine to Save was a wild ride and I devoured it, it was so freaking good. The best way I could think to describe it is ... think Criminal Minds with an X rating. All the dirty scenes you fantasize happening to one of the fine looking men on the BAU being made true.

"Catch a serial killer, help a woman overcome some of her trauma, and make myself feel again. Sounded like a win-win to me."

FBI profiler Chandler Peters is assigned to help investigate a string of gruesome murders inflicted on women in a small Texas town. The one woman in town who actually might be of help, happens to be the only one he's had any reaction to in a long time. Ellie was raised in a cult called 'The Church' but after not pleasing the leader who also happened to be her arranged husband she was released into the real world with no name, no family, no friends, and more than a little trauma. Clues lead to her being the killer's main objection and Chandler will do everything in his power to protect her.

"He held me in a trance, never glancing away as he seemed to read every memory, detail, and emotion from where he sat several feet away."

Ellie is a strong, brave and resilient character. She went through and in a way continues to experience so much trauma. After escaping the cult she was drawn straight into an abusive relationship that even when she ended it it still impacts her on the day to day. With all the sh*t in her life she has acquired some endearing quirks, like her addictions to candy and her obsession with crime shows. It isn't until she meets Chandler that she finally understands how a man should make a woman feel as well as be treated. He makes her realize what it means to be beautiful both on the inside and out. Through knowing him and finding herself she truly understands true love and self-worth.

"All of you is safe with me. Your hopes, dreams, and past. All of it. I want all of it. I want all of you."

Chandler is exhausted with his work and his life in general but under the constant weight of guilt from each case he's starting to fall apart. He's an Alpha male without being smothering and annoyingly possessive with Ellie. His unwavering support comes through by standing in the background while she fights her own battles. He helps her to see her worth and that even the dark parts of her are lovable and desirable. Through small glimpses of his past trauma we are able to understand how it affects him today, although a little more background on him would have been nice.

"I needed Ellie like I needed air to survive."

Both Ellie and Chandler are complex characters with dark traumatic pasts. Because of that they understand each other's needs when it comes to intimacy in a way that someone without their background couldn't. And holy f*ck is it dark, dirty and intense. They both need pain to go along with their pleasure and they each know exactly what the other needs. Chandler finally has someone who won't be repulsed by his needs and Ellie has found someone who won't use those needs against her. Their dark pieces match perfectly and the writing is done really well where you feel that they are both getting so much out of the experiences without causing any harm.

Some might view this a bit insta lovey, even the characters point out on multiple occasions how little time they've known each other. Yet, their connection is believable, when you find that one person who completes you than you know and in their circumstances they aren't going to let that go.

All in all, Mine to Save was a griping romantic suspense thriller. I appreciated how the story unfolded with the murder being solved before our eyes and I can't wait to what Kennedy L Mitchell comes up with for Texas Ranger Alec Bronson 😍

Omg!!!
This book proves why this author will always be one of my top favourites.
In saying that, even I'm in shock of how amazing this book truly was. I didn't want it to end!!!
This is not an easy read, the inspiring heroine of the story has been through so much, more than you could believe. But Chandler is perfect for her and is who she deserves after all the horror.
With twists and turns you won't see coming, I urge you to one click this standalone that will stick with you for a long time to come.
A top read of 2020, I wish I could give it more stars.

Started out so amazing but...

It just didn't live up to the beginning. It was odd. First off I could not figure out what they looked like. It had a buzz cut for him, black hair for her but I just didn't see them. Brett was crazy bad, Chandler was so very odd and the person I liked most was Alec. His book is next but I am not sure if I will read it. This book took a turn that felt off. The villain was a surprise, but honestly, they were all somewhat villains. Jacob, Brett, Stan, and even Chandler gave off creepy vibes to me. And honestly Ellie was a little off too. Just a very sad story but a pretty good mystery. I didn't feel the romance for some reason. But that is probably me. It kept my attention but just wasn't a five star read for me.

Mine to Save is mind blowing!

From the first words this book had me hooked. This story had it all. I primarily read romance and I forget how much I love a good suspense thriller as well.

FBI agent, Chandler Peters is sent to a small Texas town to assist in finding a serial killer. Ellie has been through so much in her life and the things she knows are heartbreaking. These two together were just amazing and this story - I just loved it. Definitely one I recommend and I look forward to reading more from this author!

Mine to Save is hard-hitting romantic suspense, which involves a serial killer, a cult, the FBI (or Chandler Peters), and a brave woman (Ellie) who saves herself.

Trigger Warning: Sexual Assault, Rape, Violence

Synopsis:
Chandler is an overworked FBI profiler who helps local law enforcement solve their unsolvable cases. It's a serial killer this time, in Orin, where local Texas Ranger Alec Bronson awaits with the details.

Ellie has been born and raised in a cult. The Church fascinates tourists and passersby, but she knows exactly what goes on behind those doors. It has been four years since she left the place and living a free life.

But the serial killer is still on the loose, and somehow Ellie is connected to it all. Who is the one getting away with all the murders? Is it Jacob, the leader of the cult; or Stan, the over-friendly neighbour; or Brett, the narcissistic police chief of the small town?

Review:
Mine to Save starts with a prologue narrated in the third person, a very eerie one. And when you reach the line, "...but he hadn’t gone this long without being caught by being careless." ... You know that what's coming next cannot be good.

And it isn't, it is the worst form of derangement, of getting off on another's pain. He is a vile and dangerous sexual predator, who's still waiting for the return of The One. The one who doesn't "understand" how good they will be together.

After reading the Prologue, I wished to set Dexter upon this filthy creature. The serial killer who kills deranged people.

The story starts from Chandler's first-person perspective as he heads to Orin, Texas to help the local law enforcement to catch a serial killer who recently upped his game, and the body count.

Mine to Save continues in Ellie's first-person narration, someone who has gained quite a knowledge about shady characters through watching Mindhunter and Criminal Minds. (Oh, why the former didn't get a new season!?!) She teams up with Alec and Chandler to find out the serial killer, whom the latter suspect is someone who belongs to The Church.
But that was the life and job I chose. Even if it was slowly eating at my own humanity and soul one case at a time.

I have read quite a few stories in the romantic suspense genre which have serial killers and stalkers in them, but this one takes the first position for all kinds of vile things that a perverse mind can think of. The saddest part being such things happen in the real world, more often than we know.

The above quote made me pause and think about not only the ones who suffer directly but the personnel who have to work on such cases. How do they cope with what they have to see, something which is a part of their daily lives due to the jobs they do? This is a very triggering story and should be read with caution because some of the things mentioned will turn your stomach.

Kennedy L. Mitchell writes the best romantic suspense. It is terrifying at the suspenseful parts, but hot and steamy when the protagonists come together. And Ellie and Chandler, they amused me so much, their individual quirks and mannerisms.

It was a beautiful experience to witness two broken yet feisty personalities finding their way to each other, healing their presents by sharing their terrible pasts.

I had guessed the killer's identity quite early in the story, probably from watching one too many crime shows and reading murder mysteries. But the author did a terrific job of keeping it suspenseful right till the very end, with so many surprises to make the happy ever after even happier.

This was an addictive read and after witnessing Alec and Chandler's camaraderie, I can't wait to read Alec Bronson's story!

Thank you to Wildfire Marketing Solutions for an e-ARC of the book.

P.S. The other books by the author that I have read and also recommend are:

“Your story is your own. Your future unwritten. Don’t give up because this chapter is harder than you expected.”

Since I discovered Kennedy Mitchell, she has quickly become one of my favorite romantic suspense authors. She consistently delivers a gripping story that keeps you guessing. Mine to Save is no exception. The search for the serial killer immediately draws the reader into the story and will keep you guessing as to the culprit’s identity. It’s a twisty and dark tale filled with danger and romance.

“Catch a serial killer, help a woman overcome some of her trauma, and make myself feel again. Sounded like a win-win to me.”

Chandler is an FBI profiler that is in town to capture a serial killer. He’s a hot, dirty-talking alpha that has a bit of a dark side. His childhood was not easy but he’s been able to channel his feelings into profiling. When he meets Ellie, there’s an instant spark. Once he discovers she’s connected to the serial killer, he’ll do anything to protect her. He’s also determined to help her overcome her past and help her spread her wings.

“Live a life you want, not one you feel is destined for you.”

Ellie is a survivor. Her life has been tragic and she has been abused over and over by those who claim to love her. She’s been brave enough to escape, but it’s hard for her not fall back into old patterns. Chandler helps her to heal and dares her to dream of a future.

“What if we’re not broken but simply searching for the other half that will heal the cracks and fissures? Can what’s left of you fit with what’s left of me, making us each whole through the other?”

These two broken people who make each other whole somehow find each other while searching for a serial killer. Their connection is immediate and their pasts bond them in a way that is both tragic and beautiful. Mine to Save combines an all-consuming romance with heart-pounding suspense that draws you in from the first page.

I have been waiting for Chandler's book ever since I read Mine to Protect back in 2019, and KL Mitchell delivered with a boom! This book is everything I love about romantic suspense - it is addictive and fast-paced with a broken alpha-hero and a lost yet strong heroine. I did not want to put it down - every chapter just got better and better. The backstories of both Chandler and Ellie provided an underlying dark buzz between the pages at all times. Combine that with a serial killer at large and an obsessive/narcissistic chief of police and I was glued to the pages!!

Not only did I fall more in love with the sexy FBI agent Chandler Peters, but I loved the lost heroine, Ellie. Her story was hard to read at times, but I loved the mystery and intensity of it all. I admired her determination to survive independently after everything she had been through, and every blow she suffered - she just kept getting back up and moving forward. She was everything that Chandler needed at just the right time. Even though they were both broken, their individual traits of compassion, strength, loyalty and protectiveness fit together to make them whole. Chandler's confidence brought out Ellie's, and Ellie's determination and strength kept Chandler going and inspired him to keep fighting his own demons. Their chemistry was sizzling, and I loved that their relationship developed so organically.

This book will leave you feeling ALL of the emotions. My heart raced and broke; I laughed and cried for both the hero and heroine; and I felt rage for those who wronged them. But mostly I loved the journey and this story. KL Mitchell has the talent to write stories that pull you in from the first page and allow you to feel every emotion and scene of her characters, and that is what I LOVE about her writing. She gets better and better with each book and I can't wait to read what is next! Well done once again KL Mitchell!

Mine to Save is a standalone Romantic Suspense book about set in the world of Mine to Protect. Mine to Save tells the story of Chandler and Ellie.

"What if we're not broken but simply searching for the other half that will heal the cracks and fissures? Can what's left of you fit with what's left of me, making us each whole through the other?"

I really loved Mine to Protect and when I saw the sign-up form for Mine to Save, I had to sign up. And I’m so happy I did. Mine to Save was such an amazing and addicting book and I had to know how Chandler and Ellie’s story was going to end. It was so hard to stop reading because you had to know who was the killer. And I thought I knew who was the killer, but I was so wrong… Lol.

I really liked Chandler. He was so caring and understanding, and I also liked his alpha male moments. Ellie was definitely such an interesting character. Ellie used to be part of a cult and after escaping the cult, she had to live with her trauma. I think she’s a strong character and I loved seeing her change throughout the book. As for the killer, I am surprised. I didn’t see it coming at all. I loved the twist though!

I really enjoyed reading Mine to Save and I highly recommend this book and Mine to Protect. Kennedy L. Mitchell did an amazing job with both books and I loved discovering this world. Mine to Save was such a good and well-written read and I cannot wait to read more books by Kennedy L. Mitchell!

Dark, romantic, suspenseful….

I love this author’s stories. Hands down, she is one of those reading finds I am forever thankful for stumbling upon. Each title offers something uniquely different but the riveting writing style and complex characters are guaranteed…

This one… Well, I want to say WOW because I’m hard pressed to find the right words. From the opening chapter I knew it was going to be deep and powerful, and I can’t forget disturbing as well. With a serial killer at work, it was never going to be a bright walk in the park. I knew that. And it definitely wasn’t. Read those trigger warnings for sure… As if that wasn’t good enough (and it was!) there was Ellie and Chandler. A gutsy woman who worked hard to make her own way after suffering so much. She could have been bitter and selfish but no. Instead, she kept her head high, fought for respect and a chance to make a difference. Chandler, well, he found her fascinating and the feeling was mutual. Alpha male met spunky heroine and it was dynamite!

Despite the emotional baggage they both brought to the hunt, the desire was uber-hot and burned higher than everything they had to handle. There was chemistry and empathy and so much heart. They had a mission beyond themselves so they fought hard and loved harder, which made for a mind-blowing read!

The brilliant Kennedy L. Mitchell sure knows how to pen fantastic romantic suspense that keeps me guessing for a cool minute, and Mine to Save was no exception. The heroine, Ellie, was one hell of a strong girl with her very dark past, while FBI Profiler Chandler fights his own demons, and with the job he has, it's not an easy task whatsoever. In fact, the reason he comes face to face with Ellie is because he's come to her small town to figure out who the unsub is since that person is killing like crazy. And that's all I'm coming off of since there are twists & turns coming in hot. There are so many of them from all different directions that it did keep me guessing, and even if I was on track about one thing, it didn't mean I knew what was around the next corner, so I just sat back & let the loud f-bombs drop. I LOVED this story so much that I read during football Sunday (anyone who knows me knows this is a HUGE deal because I live for football) since I simply could not put it down. Now, I'm sitting here impatiently waiting for the next book in this exciting, addictive, and sexy series so I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

This was so good!!!

Chandler is on his way to profile a new case and help out his buddy Alec find a serial killer in a small town in Texas. Exhausted from traveling and working on so many cases he will take this one and hopefully start a much needed vacation.

Ellie our lone wanderer, she’s in town with just a name. A ghost to many she’s trying to find her way, start a life as best as she can in hopes to one day be safe and happy until she realizes she’s the link to the serial killer.

The twist and turns, the suspense, the chemistry between Chandler & Ellie is just off the charts. Another great suspenseful romance by Kennedy!

Kennedy Mitchell has a knack for writing romantic suspense novels, and better yet, she writes these suspense filled mystery style stories that leave you guessing until the very end. Mine to Save is no different. Chandler is a FBI profiler who finds himself trying to find a serial killer in nowhere Texas, when he meets Ellie, local waitress and bartender. What he learns is that Ellie has a dark and twisted past that she is trying to break free from, and both Chandler and Ellie have a chance to find what they didn’t know they were looking for.

I loved this book so much. Chandler is your text book workaholic, and Ellie is trying so hard to break free from her background. The story contains an instant spark and attraction and so much smolder, and the intimate scenes are so hot. The mystery element kept me on my toes until the very end. A great read.

Kennedy Mitchell is a new author to me and after seeing this cover all over my IG feed, I had to read this. I haven't read a suspense romance in a while and this book was perfect. The hero in this book is all kinds of alpha! He's a protector, sexy, has a sense of humor, and damn good at his job!

The heroine is broken--trying to find her way through life that has some quirkiness to her that I love.

As I was reading this, I kept getting a little pieces of "The Sinner" (season 2) vibes which was a great TV series that I loved from back in 2017. Overall the book was captivating, had a great plot and awesome characters. The suspense factor kept me on my toes and threw me off when I learned who the real killer was!

That said, I highly recommend this book especially if you are a suspense romance lover!

Holy Wow - I don't even know what to say after reading "Mine to Save". I must admit going in to Chandler and Ellie's story I was a little hesitant as reading about cults gives me the willies. But this story was so fast passed with action, suspense and romance that I just couldn't put it down.

Chandler thought he was so broken and stuck and that there was nothing good in his life anymore. And poor Ellie thinks she is just as broken and has been dealt a really sucky hand in life. Both of them think they are too broken for the other, but watching their relationship play out in the middle of a serial killer's wrath made for an enjoyable read.

I don't know how Kennedy did it but this book kept me on the edge of my seat. I am looking forward to more releases by this author.

Kennedy Mitchell slays me. Mine to Save is an unputdownable book. She had me on the edge of my seat with all the suspense and don’t even get me started on how swoon-worthy Chandler is but that’s not to say Ellie didn’t own me. I had a massive girl crush on her! This reads like a classic Criminal Minds episode but with a dirty talking profiler and oh so much heat. The chemistry between Chandler and Ellie is off the charts hot! I was so consumed with the storyline constantly suspecting everyone. This is a must read for all romantic suspense readers out there! You will be hooked from the opening pages to the very end! Epic!

I devoured this book in one sitting. Kennedy Mitchell had me on pins and needles right from the prologue with my need to figure out who the killer was. Don't even get me started on Chandler... he captivated me from the get-go. Ellie was an incredible lead, where she and Chandler made the perfect duo. The connection between the two was intense and the chemistry was scorching! I highly recommend reading this book if you love romantic suspense. Mine to Save by Kennedy Mitchell is an EPIC read that will join the ranks of the BIBLIO-ARISTOCRACY!!!

MINE TO SAVE is the second instalment in Kennedy L Mitchell’s contemporary, adult PROTECTION erotic, romantic suspense series. This is thirty-eight year old, former Marine and FBI profiler Chandler Peters, and twenty-three year old waitress Ellie’s story line. MINE TO SAVE can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty.Any important information from the previous instalment is revealed where necessary. Chandler Peters was first introduced in book one MINE TO PROTECT.

WARNING: Due to the nature of the story line premise, and the graphic violence, torture, coarse language and assault, there may be triggers for more sensitive readers.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Chandler and Ellie) as well as a third person introductory prologue, MINE TO SAVE follows in the aftermath of a series of murders in and around the small town of Orin, Texas, possibly linked to a local religious cult. Texas Ranger Alec Bronson calls in reinforcements from the FBI, specifically FBI profiler Chandler Peters, and in the ensuing investigation, Chandler Peters finds himself facing his future in the guise of former cult member Ellie. Ellie is a young woman who ‘escaped’ the compound but found herself struggling to survive. Without an education or history, Ellie did menial jobs but our heroine watched plenty of TV, and had an ability to ferret out information to help our story line hero. As more bodies are found, threats against Ellie point to a possible suspect, a suspect who may have links to the local cult. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Ellie and Chandler, and the potential fall-out as Ellie is taken hostage by a killer, a killer no one ever suspected

Ellie knows nothing about her earlier life, and in this she is battling between what she was taught, and the reality of the world. Having been raised in a cult whose religious laws and views on sex are violent and unstable, Ellie struggles with what she wants in her personal life but Chandler is a man who is keenly aware of the darker side of religious dictates, having been raised in an atmosphere not unlilke that of our story line heroine. The small town of Orin refuses to help the FBI investigation, and as such, Chandler, Alec and Ellie must painstakingly rule out the possibilities including the number of suspects that have come and gone from Ellie’s life.

The relationship between Ellie and Chandler is one of immediate attraction but Chandler is not welcome in a town so close to the local cult. When the local sheriff claims ‘ownership’ of our story line heroine, Chandler goes all protective and claims Ellie as his own. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and intense.

We are introduced to Texas Ranger Alec Bronson, as well as Orin’s Sheriff Brett Swann, and his brother EMT Ryan Swann; Ellie’s friend Janice, and her neighbor Stan; her parents, as well as cult leader Jacob.

MINE TO SAVE is a dark and gritty story line of power and control; murder and vengeance; love, relationships and happily ever after. The premise is raw and twisted; the romance is sensitive and seductive; the characters are broken, charismatic and edgy. I will add I dislike the use of a certain four-letter word I find unnecessary in most story line premises. Many authors use if for shock value, leaving a bad taste in my reading experience.

"Don't give up because this chapter is harder than you expected."

Mine to Save by Kennedy L. Mitchell is a standalone romantic suspense, and focuses on FBI profiler Chandler and former cult member Ellie. There's a rash of murders in the small town where Ellie lives, and Chandler is called in to help catch the killer. Chandler and his Ranger friend Alec believe that it may be someone who's targeting young women from the cult known as The Church (where Ellie also previously came from). The women are high risk, moving from place to place, unidentifiable by the time the killer is through with them, and are loners without a loved one to sound the alarm when they go missing. Alec and Chandler enlist Ellie's in order to find the killer, and both Chandler and Ellie develop a friendship and an attraction that only strengthens the longer they work together.

"Let me help, Ellie. If nothing else with our time together, let me help you find a way to live. Live a life you want, not one you feel is destined for you."

Ellie is such an endearing heroine. Even though she's been abused and used by men in her life, she's not bitter about life. She's a little bit cautious and a lot realistic, and even though she wants more out of life (traveling, love, validation of her existence), she understands that The Church and its leader really limited her opportunities. She has to work for money under the table, lives in a sketchy part of town, and a loner because no one wants to associate with a cult member. Chandler doesn't see these limitations, and he sets out to show her that she is valued and important, even if she's been taught otherwise. Chandler and Ellie's connection over their super religious background and their uncanny ability to pick up details and clues (innate, but Ellie also loves her Mind Hunter and her Criminal Minds episode) makes being around each other easier. Chandler shows a real soft side here, empathetic but not pitying Ellie, wanting to provide for her without expectations. While all the men in her life want favors when they do something nice, Chandler's protective nature dictates he cares for her for the sake of her well being and happiness only. What I enjoyed most about these two characters is how they grow with each other: Ellie's feelings about men, her recognition of herself worth, her realization that what happened to her is only a chapter in her book, not the entirety of her story. Chandler's desire to live and to have purpose is reignited in his quest to show Ellie the same.

There are many surprising twists in the end, and Ellie revisits her past but also gets to write her own future, one that she wanted and not predetermined for her.

"What if we're not broken but simply searching for the other that will heal the cracks and fissures? Can what's left of you fit with what's left of me, making us each whole through the other?"

I read the prequel book to this one and I really, really enjoyed it, so I was excited when I heard about this book releasing! I signed up for an ARC when I saw the form and started my ARC as soon as I received it! After reading, I can say that I loved this book a lot! The plot was developed at the perfect pace and it kept me intrigued and wanting to read on and find out what was going to happen next! There was also a lot of suspense in the plot and it added a lot to the plot! There was a lot of speculation as to who the killer was and I had my suspicions, but there were a few suspects, so I wasn't 100% sure who it was going to be! There was also plenty of romance in the plot between the main characters and I loved how the romance developed! It also allowed for some seriously steamy scenes! The characters were also amazing and made this book even better! Ellie was the main female character, and my heart went out to her in this book because she had been through a lot in her life and all she wanted was to make her own decisions and to be free! Ellie got that in this book and she embraced it! She also worked hard to provide for herself! Ellie came a long way and I absolutely loved her character! Chandler was the main male character and love interest of Ellie! I loved that this book was Chandler’s because I remember him from the prequel book! I also loved him in this book! He was committed to his job as an FBI profiler and he worked hard! It was also easy to see how Chandler felt about Ellie as soon as he met her and how much those feelings developed as the plot did! He was very protective of her as well, which was understandable! I loved that this book was written from both Ellie and Chandler’s point of views! I was sort of expecting it to be after I read the synopsis and because the prequel book was written from dual point of view! I’m really happy that book was written from because it helped me connect more with both characters and it helped me see how they were feeling about what they were going through and their feelings for each other grow! It allowed for more things to happen in the plot as well, which helped as Ellie and Chandler did go through some things by themselves and it added to the suspense element! I can also completely understand why this book is a standalone! Everything in the plot was wrapped up and all the questions raised were answered! I'm really excited that there's going to be a third book though and who the main male character is going to be! He played a bit part in this book, so I can't wait to read his story! The cover for this book is also seriously hot and I loved it as soon as I saw it! I love how well it suits the feel of the book and the cover model is also seriously hot and suits the character of Chandler! Big thank you to Kennedy and Wildfire Marketing Solutions for an ARC of Mine to Save!

If I could give this more stars I totally would!

Where do I start with this book...

Let's start with the suspense aspect of the book.
So from the moment I opened it I was hooked. It starts off dark, like real dark and for a second I was a bit weary about continuing. It was so well written, so descriptive I could picture it as if watching it on TV.
Fast forward a few hours later and I am still devouring the words on the page, I hadn't even realised I had been sat stationary for so long that's how enthralled I became by the book.
I thought I figured it out a few chapters in but then it changed and changed again and it wasn't until the very last second that I managed to piece it all together.
It was nail biting, edge of your seat reading and THIS IS HOW SUSPENSE SHOULD BE DONE.

Now the romance part...
Firstly, Chandler, be still my beating heart. FULL ALPHA with a soft side but no less hot. AND HE WAS HOT.
The dirty talk, ugh, I love me a hero with a dirty mouth. He was caring and gentle when needed but rough and dominating in all the ways that get you hot under the collar.
Ellie was a real tough cookie. Dealt a crappy hand she still managed to live each day, sure there were some insecurities, some damage caused by her past and usually this can get quite whiny but Ellie was anything BUT whiny. Strong, fierce, independent and so much more.
And then they were bought together and FIREWORKS. Holy hotness, the chemistry, the steam, the romance, all of it was so beautifully put together.

I have nothing bad to say about this book. Not a single word.
I LOVED IT.

It has quickly bumped its way up my favourite books of the year and one I will have on my shelf as soon as I can!

FIVE STARS

I was provided an ARC of this book for a honest review.

A thrilling, pulse-racing, intense story!

DAMN! My palms were sweating, my heart was racing, and my nails are now completely gone while reading this thrilling story. I was literally on the edge of my seat the entire time waiting with anticipation of what would happen next or what twist I would find on the next page. This is one hell of a suspenseful story that rivals some of the best criminal shows you see on TV!

This story invokes so many different emotions while reading it. You will laugh, you will cry a little, you will scream and shout, and your heart will definitely break for Ellie over and over again as she slowly reveals what her life’s been like. But Ellie is a smart, strong and very brave woman. She is doing everything she can to better herself in order to survive. She has a kinds of spunk and I love her reactions to new things.

Chandler is one sexy, dirty talking, dominant man, with a bit of a twisted side. He comes into Ellie’s life at just the right time but not under great circumstances. Their connection is instantaneous and sparks fly off the pages. Their chemistry is undeniable and so freaking hot.

“What if we’re not broken but simply searching for the other half that will heal the cracks and fissures? Can what’s left of you fit with what’s left of me, making us each whole through the other?”

A dirty talking, sexy FBI profiler and a tough as nails survivor come together to solve a chilling mystery. With chills and thrills, murder and mayhem, a cult filled with crazy people, and some very steamy (panty melting) moments, who could ask for a better mystery to curl up to late at night.

Absolutely brilliant writing! I can’t wait for more stories from this amazing author.

I read Mine to Protect and immediately liked Chandler Peters. He was a great FBI agent, an excellent friend to Cas, and provided humor and banter with Cas and Birdie. So, getting my hands on Mine to Save was exciting. I was looking forward to learning more about Chandler and what makes him tick.

Kennedy Mitchell is doing a great job with the suspense side of the books in this series. I love a good romantic suspense story, so I expect there to be danger, mystery, and complexity. Kennedy Mitchell has done so with this novel. It starts dark and creepy, and that menace pervades the story as Chandler and Ellie build their relationship while trying to solve the mystery. There are surprises, twists, and nail-biting scenes all to make it a fun read.

Chandler is a hero with a damaged past that colors his present, but as the book says, it perfectly fits Ellie. Ellie is a fun, feisty character with her own damaged past that colors her present. You cannot help but enjoy the dynamics between Chandler and Ellie. We also meet Alec, the Texas Ranger, a friend to Chandler, and our next hero in this series. I cannot wait for that story; I hope Chandler is there because he owes Alec some payback for all the smack talk.

This story was exciting, suspenseful, steamy, romantic, and a page-turner. If you love good romantic suspense with strong, smart guys and intelligent, unafraid women, then this series is for you.
