For Shane Ryan, ghost hunting isn’t just a job. It’s war…
Still recovering from his recent tragedy, retired Marine Shane Ryan receives a call from James Moran, a well-known dealer of haunted items in New England. A robbery gone wrong has left Moran with a trail of dead bodies, and a missing box of items from his inventory. And he wants Shane to track down the thief.
There’s not much to go on, but Shane has an ace up his sleeve… he can communicate with the spirits of the dead. Their dark whispers guide him to a string of similar crimes. Each victim is a collector of the supernatural, but unless Shane can locate the missing thief, he has no way to connect them to the bloody killing at Moran’s.
As he pieces together the clues, he soon encounters Derek… a vicious spirit bound to a stolen artifact from Moran’s shop. Shane realizes he can use this bloodthirsty ghost to lead him to the thief’s lair. But there’s just one problem.
The organization behind the robberies have bigger, more dangerous plans. They’re determined to bring Shane’s investigation to an end.
And they don’t care who they have to kill to do it…
Ron Ripley is a husband and father surviving in New England, a place which seems to be getting colder every day. He grew up across from a disturbingly large cemetery where he managed to scare himself every night before going to bed. Mostly because of the red lights that people put in front of the headstones. Those things are just plain creepy to a kid.
Ron enjoys writing horror, military history and driving through the small towns of New England with his family, collecting books and giving impromptu lectures on military history to his family, who enjoy ignoring him during those dreadful times.
MORAN AND MORAN is Book 2 in the DEATH HUNTERS Series, featuring the unique and inimitable hunter Shane Ryan of Nashua, New Hampshire: former Marine, lifelong communicator with ghosts, hunter of the evil dead. Following the robbery at the business premises of Moran and Moran, purveyor of haunted artifacts, Shane investigates the robbery and is on the path to discovering that, like the previous events he investigated in Detroit (in Book 1, CITY OF GHOSTS), there exists something--or someone--extremely powerful, organized, and connected, who values human life not at all, who will literally stop at nothing to succeed. Shane Ryan, ghost hunter extraordinaire, is the only one who can deter, let alone end, the progress of this nefarious achievement.
Gore-laden and suffused with breathless tension, MORAN AND MORAN is an edge-of-the-seat read.
Shane Ryan continues his search for the murderous organisation that is collecting haunted items. As usual he ends up taking a few beatings but as all of us Shane Ryan fans know it will take more than a brush with death to keep him down!
I mistakenly thought that this was to be a 2 book series, but as the thrilling conclusion of this instalment leaves you hanging on it's obvious that there are a load more to come. If I'd realised this originally, I would have waited for the complete series so that I didn't have wait between instalments.
Ron Ripley is the master of this genre but I wish he wouldn't make us wait 😥.
Wow. Just wow. Shane Ryan is back and he is kicking butt. A mysterious someone is acquiring haunted items by any means necessary. When some of his (or her, this hasn't been determined) hired guns rob Moran and Moran and kill the proprietors, things become personal for Shane. That means somebody, somewhere is in big trouble. While Shane is on the trail of the mystery person, he encounters ghosts intent on stopping him. The whole thing makes for a great read. Shane needs to take better care of himself. He should stop smoking and back off on the whiskey. I say this not to become a morality policeman but because I need me a lot more Shane Ryan and that won't happen if he kills himself off through his bad habits. Mr. Ripley, if you're listening, get Shane clean and sober. Readers like me, and of course Carl, will appreciate it. Read this series. You'll love it.
Is having to wait for the next installment. This has been one of my favorite Ron Ripley books so far. Shane Ryan has always been a favorite, but this book includes many more characters from other series, with some very surprising developments! I can't wait for the next book!
I would recommend this book to family and friends. I enjoyed the mystery of who did it, like in crime stories little fish were caught, but the ultimate who and why remains a mystery.
I also liked the main character ,and his sometimes comical interactions with both the living and the dead! A real good read.
As always, A scary, sometimes funny, story of ghosts, those that will kill, and those that help, and some that just bear witness. And then Shane Ryan, along with his crew of the living, and dead, trying to keep the bad guys in check. I suggest that you read this series, in order. Oh, and read in the dark, these are dark tales.
I looked forward to this book, but must state that I think it fell short of the author's normal quality of writing. It was interesting reading, but seemed incomplete and the ending was disappointing.
When it comes to horror Ron Ripley has the Midas touch and everything he touches turns in to scares in high terror. This is book 2 of his new theories and again all I can say is wow! How does he do it? I highly recommend this book it is so good!
A robbery gone wrong at Moran and Moran leaves dead bodies and missing Haunted items, Shane is on the case. I love adventures with Shane Ryan keep them coming there's really great and very enjoyable. I received this as an ARC and voluntarily choose to reveiw.
I can’t wait for the 3rd installment and it can’t come soon enough. I love the mention of previous characters from his other series. I hope before this series ends we will see all characters in one fight………good vs evil.
I love these stories. Shane is made of steel with all his body takes. I worry a lot about his line of work.. And what of his house of ghosts what would happen if he die. What of these haunted items, will they terrorise once free of the house.
When I read the first book in this new series, I hadn't realized how much I'd missed my time in Shane Ryan's world. Now, I'm entrenched and entranced once again, and I cannot wait to start the next book.
As always Mr. Ripley has not disappointed. I love how he brings the characters from his other series in to play some part in the vanquishing of the evil intent of a haunted item. I'm on to the next book.
When Moran and Moran encounter a break-in, and some dangerous ghosts are taken, Shane Ryan steps in. He is determined to avenge the two deaths at the store and help his friend regain what was stolen.
Fabulous book! I cannot wait to see what happens in the next one!
Always a great read from Mr Ripley Shane is Shane and my fav but new characters are introduced good to hear more from Moran and Moran and Mr Worth making an appearance the plot thickens !!
Not one of the better of the series'. An interesting twist or two in it but generally not a great story. It will be fascinating to see how he finishes this series.
Moran and Moran Death Hunter #2, by Ron Ripley, another great Shane Ryan ghost story, in a mission to find out who is killing to steal haunted objects. Gripping page turner, great Ron Rilley. Kindle 4*
I really like Ron ,I do but somehow I can't get into Death hunter. I was a bit disappointed with the second tome. It was pretty much a copy of the first one, same ideas- a dude and his ghost looking for hunted items.I hope the third tome will be better
