This book was gifted to me a few months ago and I just got around to reading it. I 100% recommend this book for any black girl who needs a good pick me up and is struggling to live their best life. I am currently taking a class called living your best life and a lot of what we are learning ties into what I read in the book. In class we learned about creating good habits and a better you and this book can be a good guide to doing so because it leaves many encouraging words for any situation you might be in. This book can help you build yourself up to creating good habits.

I read this from an adult perspective. I really enjoyed it and think it could be tailored to anyone. However, after 65% into the book, it started to get really preachy. Even if written for a teenager.

It went from focusing on affirmations to focusing on the author's personal causes. It started to sound more like a sales pitch. Other than that, I really enjoyed it. But up until that point, it felt like reading an entirely different book.

I plan to check out the author's other book as well.

I'm cheating here. The book that I am reading is by M.J. Fievre, but does not appear on GoodReads (?). It is "Black and Resilient: 52 Weeks of Anti-Racist Activities for Black Joy and Empowerment." This is a placeholder for my reading list.
