Presenting his second collection of zany superlatives, a popular television host states the benefits of reading his book as opposed to watching his show, noting that it reaffirms its reader's literacy. Reprint.
David Michael Letterman is an Emmy Award-winning American television host and comedian. His first major success occurred on the long-running NBC television program, Late Night with David Letterman, before moving to CBS in 1993 to his current place on the Late Show.
Letterman's ironic, often absurd comedy is heavily influenced by former Tonight Show hosts Steve Allen, Johnny Carson and Jack Paar.
As a fan of the show, I always loved the Top 10 segment, and I was delighted to see this on my library's "free" shelf. Hell, I would've even paid a buck or two for it if I'd seen it among their used books. The material is, of course, dated (Bush Sr. and Dan Quayle jokes aplenty), which should be expected if you understand what you're getting into. The only surprise is that I'm old enough now to understand most, if not all, the jokes now.
