One impulsive, passionate week changed my life. And I can’t stop thinking about it…or him.
The hot Italian with the full lips and inked skin. The passionate man who made me feel incredible until I realized it was all a sham.
Because he lied. About his name. About everything.
Now, I’m not only pregnant with his child but thrust into the spotlight. Because my vacation fling, my baby daddy, is an international soccer superstar.
He wants a second chance, but I’m concerned that he’s as much of a player off the field as he is on it.
Jenna Hartley is USA Today bestselling author who writes forbidden romance that feels good, much like her own real life love story. Her stories feature strong women and swoon-worthy men, as well as sexy, sweet, and laughable moments that reflect real love.
When she's not reading or writing romance, Jenna can be found tending to her growing indoor plant collection (pun intended), decluttering (just ask her husband about "The Great Purge of 2015" as he calls it), and hiking. She lives in Texas with her family and loves nothing more than a good book and good chocolate, except maybe a dance party with her husband and daughter.
Note: I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. Trigger Warnings: Fertility Issues.
Harper and Enzo owned me body, soul and mind.
I mean the way their fling started in the cliched ways, sure, but they had individually amazing personalities and were not afraid to stand up to obstacles. And that's what I loved about them.
Sure Harper was a struggling film scout with struggling fertility issues (so glad this was covered too), meanwhile Enzo was a huge football/soccer player (always get confused about those), and would never have really met if not for them taking a vacation at the same time.
Sparks fly, so do injuries (how do you think it all starts haha), and so does a rush of want me, want ya honeeeey lyrics too.
But miscommunication flies too and they separate. But time brings them back again and they work hard to solve their issues and grow as a couple - and I loved that about them.
Also I loved how Jenna covered Harper's emotions and concern in regards to her fertility issues and I sympathised, empathised and fell for Harper a lot. Wanted to be her best friend so much.
Although it was slightly hard to believe she was able to you know have her happy end like that - cause of her early signs of that not happening - still I was happy for her.
Enzo was a brilliant, smart and caring guy and Harper was equally in love and caring, strong and wonderful to him. So yes, they were the perfect book couple in my mind - my all time favorites.
So yeah. Loved them to the ends of the moon and back.
OH MY HAPPY SQUISHY HEART! Jenna Hartley always writes such sweet and swoony stories that hit me straight in my feels. But Irreplaceable is my favorite she’s written- a beautiful demonstration of Jenna’s propensity for writing meaningful, sincere, and heartfelt stories that we all can connect to. Enzo and Harper’s story isn’t only deliciously sexy and so very adorable, but it also feels so relatable and authentic. This is so much more than a second chance, accidental baby romance, sugary romance- this is a a story about finding and accepting your truest self, a story about having grace and compassion not just for others, but for you too. It’s heartbreaking in places, butterfly-inducing in others, but overarchingly it’s hopeful and optimistic. A joyful portrayal that we’re never too old or too lost to find our own HEA, that everything we need to to face adversity is within our own hearts…and our hearts’ ability to see and accept others. I could not love this story more- my heart is so warm and happy!
I'm always a big fan of a book that has Italian in it when one or more of the characters actually are Italian. It brings a little bit extra umf for me hehe.
I really liked Enzo and I loved them as a couple, however I still felt there was something missing. All in all I would have liked to see more of them out and about, more of her taking part of his football life as the wife.. I don't know, to me I didn't feel like she was supportive enough, and I am also of the opinion that there is such a thing as a too strong character. Too hard headed. And too stubborn. And I felt that Harper was a bit too much of that for my tastes. She overreacts to simple things, but never apologises properly for it. It was just a bit too much up and down for me. :)
Man, I finished this book in just one sitting. I couldn't put it down once I started reading. I kept on turning the pages just to find out what's going to happen with Harper and Enzo. I loved everything about their story, it flows perfectly and no unnecessary drama. But it's still entertaining. These two have chemistry and attraction in spades though it was only for one week of passion. They never thought it would result to a surprise baby. It did get emotional there a little bit but I can assure you it's worth the read.
They had a fantastic vacation fling, but then it completely imploded. Harper didn't expect ever to see him again, and then she found out their lives would be forever intertwined.
I devoured this book! There's so much to love about Irreplaceable -- unforgettable characters, hot chemistry, great female friendships, and an emotional storyline that tugs on your heartstrings.
Harper and Enzo make a great couple. Their relationship is steamy and sweet, and they work well together as true partners. Additionally, their banter is pure chef kiss, especially when Enzo starts speaking Italian to Harper! The strong, independent, well-traveled Harper is the perfect match for the protective, slow-to-trust Enzo.
There's no ridiculous drama or lingering miscommunication in Jenna Hartley's books, which is one of the things I enjoy most about them. The couples face challenges, but it isn't forced or fake. Harper and Enzo don't have an easy journey to finding their happiness. Jaded Enzo earns a lot of side-eye for what he says and does early in their relationship, and I adore Harper for not forgiving him until he deserves it.
This book can easily be read as a standalone, but it is a wonderful addition to the Love in LA series and an excellent companion to the Alondra Valley series.
Irreplaceable is an incredible story of love, connection, and building a life that can't be replaced!
I received an early copy of this book from the author. I'm voluntarily leaving an honest, unbiased review.
I wanted to love this book, but for some reason it just didn’t do it for me. I liked Enzo’s character and the cruelty he showed Harper after a misunderstanding was a good setup for some angsty goodness… but then it sort of fell flat for me. I didn’t like Harper for some reason. She didn’t stand by her convictions and I found her wishy washiness to be a bit annoying. She jumped to conclusions constantly. I didn’t feel a ton of chemistry between the MC’s. I needed more angst. Maybe I wasn’t in the mood for it.
Irreplaceable is book #5 of the Love in LA series but the amazing Jenna Hartley. Not only have I devoured this series but I completely devoured this book!!!! Not only is there off the charts hot steamy chemistry but the bond of friendship shines throughout!!! You will not be able to get enough of Harper and Enzo!!! Jenna did an outstanding job telling Harper’s story and added the right alpha male perfect for her!
Irreplaceable is the final installment in Jenna Hartley's Love In LA series and it is moving. Jenna gives us a story that is emotional and hopeful. Irreplaceable is a strangers to lovers to enemies to friends to lovers, sports romance, surprise pregnancy and forced proximity. Jenna gives it all to us. Harper and Enzo's story is full of angst, insta lust and love. Grab a comfy spot, a good chunk of time to read this one, as I could not put it down.
Harper is a strong woman that wants so badly to be a mom that she is spending her money on fertility treatments only to have her dreams shattered. Her job as a location scout has her travelling all over the world and her last trip had her going to Bali. While she was there, she hurt her ankle by jumping out of the way of a car. Well, out of this car comes a Godness of a man, Enzo. She finds him concerned with her health and tells her that he is taking her to see a doctor. He scoops her up, puts her in his car and off to see a doctor. She is determined to enjoy her time but Enzo has different ideas. He offers her, no tells her, that she is staying with him for the week. How can she refuse this goodness of a man. Well, the week they spend together is filled with laughter, fun and a few spicy interactions. When Enzo jumps to conclusions, things blow up and Harper leaves. Upon returning to LA she is still mad at him for what happened and what he did but he is still taking up space in her thoughts and heart. What happened when she gets news that she never expected? She tries to find him but it seems that he really doesn't exist. How is that possible. When she does see him again things do not go as smoothly as she had hoped. Can she give him a chance to talk and explain? Will her heart take over from her wanting to hate him? Can they be friends or is there a way that they can be more?
Enzo is a professional football (American soccer) player in Bali to get away from the drama back home in Italy. He meets Harper and there is a pull to take care of her since it was his driver that caused her to be injured. He is also attracted to her but is still dealing with his ex and the situation back home. He decides that he is going to make her week vacation the best it can be, even though she needs crutches. They spend time touring, laughing and getting to know one another. Lines get crossed and he starts to fall for her. When he discovers something about her that makes him think she is not who she claimed to be, he kicks her out and destroys her belongings. He finds himself being traded to a team in LA and at his first event he sees Harper. She is still as gorgeous as ever and he needs to talk with her. Well, things do not go as planned and he knows that he needs to find a way. What will he do when he receives some news that will change his life? Will he do anything to win her back? Can he get her to forgive him and let him into her life?
Irreplaceable will definitely pull on your heartstrings and have your stomach in knots but will also leave you feeling full of hope and love. Jenna never disappoints with her storylines and with Irreplaceable, she delivers. Although Irreplaceable can be read as a standalone, I suggest reading the complete series.
IRREPLACEABLE is another wonderful installment in Hartley's Love in. LA series. Harper, a location scout, is a character I've been so curious about throughout the series. She is a jet-setting, ambitious woman who is fiercely loyal and supportive of her friends. Where's her happy ending? Finally getting her story in her point of view is such a treat! Harper has always put her career first, but her main wish has always been to be a mother. But the journey to get there has been arduous and taxing; it's been physically and emotionally draining. So after location scouting in Bali, she decides to take a real vacation—and meets an Italian man named Enzo who teaches her to relax, to feel, and to give in to what she truly wants. But Enzo is not who he says he is, and the trajectory of Harper's and Enzo's lives are forever changed by the memorable week they spend together. IRREPLACEABLE is a beautiful story of partnership, redemption, and unconditional love. And I really appreciate Jenna's note acknowledging the difficulty of writing about birth experience, and I admire her strength and the care she took in sharing Harper's story. I have fallen in love with Jenna Hartley's Love in LA series over the last year, and finally getting to read Harper's story feels like a celebration, or getting to reunite with family after a long time apart. Thanks to the author for providing me with an ARC for review!
Harper’s story is one that I have been waiting for since the beginning and it was absolutely worth the wait. This was so much more than I could have expected and I loved every single minute of it.
The moment Harper and Enzo meet there is a connection between the two of them. As the spend a week in Bali together they grow closer, their connection never seems to fizzle. However, there are some things that Enzo didn’t tell Harper, like the fact he is a major soccer super start. Some major miscommunications tear them apart for months.
Harper is an amazing character. She wants to be a mother, she has gone through several treatments only for nothing to work. You can feel her pain in the beginning and her struggles. Yet, she wasn’t going to give up. Harper’s struggles are a sensitive topic to many, but the way this was all handle is beautiful and it is done in a way to makes it easy to connect with Harper and her struggles. Enzo…the Italian, it’s swonny. I love that he isn’t a player and how protective he is. Plus, the love for his family. He falls quick for Harper, but is still cautious for a while given his status.
This story was a beautiful ending to the Love in LA series and all these characters, though I hope they do pop up some in the future.
If you’re looking for a surprise pregnancy, sports romance this is one to check out.
And with this book, Jenna Hartley has done the impossible - She has gotten me to read and LOVE a romance with an Italian hero! There are two things I don’t gravitate towards: vacation settings and books set in Italy and/or with Italians. Why you ask? For one, I’m Italian and live in Italy and I don’t enjoy reading about it and for two, I’m not a beach person. Having said that, Jenna Hartley made me eat my words and enjoy both, HARD.
𝗜𝗥𝗥𝗘𝗣𝗟𝗔𝗖𝗘𝗔𝗕𝗟𝗘 is a book that managed to touch me in unexpected ways. Harper is an incredible woman and I related to her on many levels. Her wandering spirit and her struggles were very real and touched me deeply. I wanted all the good things for her and Enzo was the absolute best thing that could ever happen to her. Having said that, she had the same effect on him. She was the perfect woman for him and made him a better version of himself. And this is why I loved this book so much. The evolution of the main characters and their road to happily ever after was not an easy one but an incredibly blessed and special one.
𝗜𝗥𝗥𝗘𝗣𝗟𝗔𝗖𝗘𝗔𝗕𝗟𝗘 is an incredible addition to Jenna Hartley’s 𝗟𝗢𝗩𝗘 𝗜𝗡 𝗟𝗔 series. I’m giving it the judy.ann.loves.books stamp of approval, TBR and Enjoy!
I love, love, love Harper and Enzo! These two have the kind of love that dreams are made of. It's dreamy (sometimes unbelievable) and messy all at the same time. My heart initially broke for Harper. But I have learned myself that once you stop looking for that happily ever after that is when it will find you. That is exactly what happens in this story.
I had a love hate relationship with Enzo. Though I understood why he kept the truth from Harper I was also irritated that he accused her of not telling him the truth. That he broke her trust and her heart. But I also love how he stuck to his beliefs and promises once they found each other again. I loved Harper and her desire to be a mom. Nothing, and no one, was standing in her way. I loved that strength. I loved how she made Enzo work for her love. He needed to be grounded and realize that not everyone is like his gold digging ex. Val needed that wake up call too and because of that she is one of my least favorite characters in this story.
I am so happy that these two got their HEA. Everyone deserves love and happiness. And after that climax, these two do also.
*I voluntarily read an advanced copy of this book for my honest and unbiased review*
Harper the perks of her career which is how she finds herself spending time in Bali but when it comes to her personal life she hasn’t been able to achieve the one thing she has always wanted. A near accident brings Enzo into her life and the chemistry and connection between them ignites until a misunderstanding tears them apart and they both resumed their regular lives.
Enzo is trying to escape the turmoil in his life and where better than Bali especially once he meets Harper. Things did not end well so all he wants to do is move forward however fate had other ideas when it brings them together again, but will they be able to overcome not only their past but the challenges in the present as well.
Due to his career and lifestyle Enzo understandably has trust issues so he made some missteps along the way however Harper shows him how wonderful love can be with the right person as they take us on an emotional and romantic journey.
I absolutely love the pregnancy trope and when I heard that Jenna was coming out with this book I was so excited!! And so blessed with the chance to receive an arc copy!
This book is everything and more! Harper has been dealing with some fertility issues and decides to take a vacation where she meets Enzo. When Harper and Enzo meet there is so much tension and sparks fly between them. They have this immediate connection and it is amazing. Enzo is so swoon worthy and when he speaks Italian… boy will your insides just melt.
Of course though, things aren’t always simple or easy. There’s angst, some miscommunication, heartbreak, but most importantly they have so much love and support.
If you guys want a dirty talking Italian man and a fmc who doesn’t bow then this book is definitely for you!!
I absolutely loved Enzo and Harper’s story! Their not so cute meet cute was the perfect beginning of their bumpy journey to happily ever after. Enzo had a sexy but hardened outer demeanor due to his past experiences however he quickly had a soft spot for Harper and showed that sweetness amazingly well. Harper was the queen of independence but also had a soft underbelly that broke my heart for her. From the first chapter I was desperately hoping for her HEA. I loved that she knew what she wanted but was still able to be swept off her feet and wooed. Enzo and Harper’s chemistry was H O T! Enzo had the best naughty bedroom talk and I couldn’t get enough. All that chemistry also meant that when things hit the fan their arguments where just as combustible as their sexy times. The ups and downs of their relationship had me all up in my feels but I loved every minute and smiled contentedly when I finished this story. This was an amazing ending to this great series.
Enzo is a Italian Soccer player who is vacationing in Bali and getting away from the drama of his professional life. Harper is your independent working woman, who has had multiple failed IVF attempts to have a baby and is on work in Bali as a location scout but stays an extra week for vacation. One day, Enzo's driver ends up almost running her over and she ends up spraining her ankle which results in Harper staying with Enzo while she recovers as this is way of bettering the situation. This gives Harper and Enzo a perfect week and they spend it absorbed in one in another, however, with Enzo's trust issues, the last day does not go well. Harper leaves hurt and soon finds herself pregnant. Months later, she runs into Enzo, who finds out she is pregnant and realizes the mistake he had made.
This was my first book read in Jenna's Love in LA, but that was no worry. I loved how Enzo and Harper start out as strangers, friends, and then lovers. The tension was there from the beginning and I am glad they ended up acting on it! They grew together! I think their relationship provided Harper with the sense that it is going to be okay, to let Enzo in and she can rely on him and it helped Enzo trust. It showed how big a miscommunication can end up hurting a good thing. I loved how Enzo would through in those smooth Italian phrases..swoooooony! I liked how Harper was well educated and new other languages, one of them being Italian. I enjoyed this book and would definitely recommend it!
Enzo and Harper’s was a delightful way to close out the Love in LA Series by Jenna Hartley. I have come to love these characters so much and it was great to see Harper get her HEA. The chance meeting between these two is just the bump they need to start this journey. It is a rocky road between them to get to their HEA. Enzo and Harper have amazing chemistry on page. Enzo has the dirty talking down to a lust science. All that attraction and also meant that those moments of passion either in anger or lust were off the charts. The angst of their relationship and the miscommunication between them was maddening at times. I wanted to shake them both more than once. I did enjoy this story and am so happy that Harper got her heart’s desire. Full review at https://bookcaseandcoffee.com
I’ve loved every book in the series, but this one wasn’t for me. I don’t like accidental pregnancy when the heroine has struggled with infertility but she gets magically pregnant with the hero’s baby. Harper has had 3 failed tries of IUI but gets pregnant nearly instantly with Enzo? Idk. I don’t like this stories. Also, I did not like Enzo at all. Pushy, rude and with anger issues. Not my type of hero. I’m sad because the series is amazing.
Harper is coming off of her failed IUI and all she wanted was to be a mom. When she has to go to Bali for scouting out her next movie location she sees this guy playing soccer with the local kids and takes pictures of him. When she is almost hit on the road the soccer player "Enzo". When the trip is coming to an end he finds her camera with pictures of him on it and accuses her of being paparazzi even though she has no clue who he is. When she gets back she talks about this jerk to her friend and then when they are at a sport even for Harrison low and behold Enzo is there. Not only is he there but she's 10 weeks pregnant with his baby. He feels bad and didn't believe she was paparazzi after the fact. What happens when Enzo finds out she's pregnant? What happens when you fall for your baby mama/ daddy?
I adored Enzo and Harper. The heart break of the chemical pregnancy and the issues that she ended up having with the pregnancy of Aidan was so real and true and I love that Jenna showed us it isn't all rainbows and sunshine! I loved the change that we see in Enzo when he finds out about the baby! The was a great end to the Love in LA series!
I absolutely loved reading Harper and Enzo’s story. I was so drawn into their world and found myself not wanting to put this one down.
There was so much passion between these two and I loved seeing how that played out with some loud and intense scenes throughout this book. Jenna Hartley this was such a great story and I loved every minute of reading it.
Everything was second place to the fact that enzo was an asshole. I just can’t. 2 stars is because of the ladies and the other one because of the italian.
Not the ending I hoped for, but a good story. Just left me wanting something different for the ending. And, the final straw, the next page is from a new book. Confusing to say the least. It seemed like the story had morphed into something else, not wanted by me.
Usually sports romance and surprised baby are two of my favorite tropes to read and I feel so excited when Jenna Hartley announced about this book because I've been her fan since the beginning. But I don't feel like I enjoy reading the book as much as I thought. First of all, the summer fling between Enzo and Harper is too dreamy to be true. Don't get me wrong, I know that I'm reading a novel and I sure as hell would like it if I read this when I was younger. Second, I get annoyed while I'm reading Enzo's Italian language, I know that he is Italian and using his own language seems to be proper in this book but because I don't understand the language that is why I feel annoyed by it. The third one is I've been used a word "Football" instead of soccer all of my life and I think all English and European people use the word "Football" too so when Enzo corrected Harper and use a word "Soccer" instead, I'm confused. The story seems to be improved after Enzo and Harper meet again and this time Harper puts a wall between them. I think I want Enzo to work more to win Harper back and I need Harper to be stronger than this but nope, Enzo just works his magic and Harper is smitten already. Just like I said before, if I read this book when I was younger, I would like it and give it 5 stars because who wouldn't want a hot athlete who devotes himself to his woman and his child but I think I'm too old for this dreamy story and with everything I mentioned earlier, I decide to give the book 3 stars.
It’s been a hot minute since I’ve read a Jenna Hartley novel, and I forgot how much I enjoy her writing. This was a fascinating blend of a lot of tropes that I really enjoy: sports, accidental pregnancy, second chance. Unfortunately for me, the beginning of this one was very slow. I am not a huge fan of vacation flings, so the fact that our heroine, Harper, meets her love interest on a trip gave me a bit of pause. I quickly realized that this book had a lot more going on than I originally thought when our couple was sleeping together 20% into the book. I couldn’t have imagined how impactful this book would be. It stopped my heart multiple times. Jenna Hartley deep dives into some very triggering topics and wades through them with beautiful finesse.
Harper has dreamed of becoming a mom all her life. She’s 37 and has given up on finding a life partner, and decides to take matters into her own hands. Sadly, after three rounds of failed IUI, she’s almost ready to throw the towel in on ever having a baby. When she heads to Bali for a vacation/work trip, she meets Enzo, and the two quickly fall into bed. Enzo is sweet, attentive, and extremely wealthy, but he is also secretive and evades questions often. At the time, Harper thinks nothing of it because she realizes that this might just be a vacation fling for him – with no plans to take it any further. Well, shit hits the fan and they separate on very bad terms…and then Harper finds out she’s pregnant. The story builds from there, and if I added anything else into my review, it could be considered “spoilery”, so I would just recommend that you jump into this book if you’re curious! It’s a very passionate and interesting story of unexpected love and happily ever afters. There are definitely some triggering moments throughout involving infertility issues and traumatic birthing experiences, so if you are bothered by those topics at all, I would recommend not reading this one.
What worked for me in this novel was the timeline and relationship development. I appreciated that Harper and Enzo take time to get back together – each having their own issues – when the pregnancy is revealed. I also liked that things were slow and steady after the whirlwind romance in Bali at the beginning. I enjoyed getting to know the secondary characters in the story as well, and loved that there weren’t any big issues coming from a third party in terms of their relationship. We did have a bit of an OW (other woman) scare there for a sec, but it didn’t turn into anything. I loved that all of the people in both Harper and Enzo’s lives were very supportive of the pregnancy. Especially Harper, seeing as she had been trying for a baby for a very long time.
Overall I enjoyed this book a lot! It contains sensitive topics, so again I would recommend reading trigger warnings before going in. Jenna Hartley is a wonderful writer and a very sweet person and I’m so thankful I was given the opportunity to read this arc for her! 4 stars!
So I heard so many great reviews of this book, recommending it on bookstagram and wanted give it a try. Oh my goodness, this book just blew me away. Such a great emotional heartwarming story.
In Irreplaceable, we get a love story between Harper and Enzo. It's the final book in Love in LA Series, my first book in this series and it's a scintillating book. I loved Harper and Enzo! Their chemistry was off the charts hot and I couldn't get enough of them. As a film location scout, Harper gets to travel all over the world and after her work trip in Bali, she’s decided to take a vacation. Not only because she’s tired, but because all of her attempts at getting pregnant have failed and she needs a break. In Bali, she unexpectedly meets "Enzo" a sexy Italian who almost runs her over on the street and then proceeds to take care of her. Enzo’s hiding out in Bali after a scandal breaks out in Milan where his ex is trying to expose him.Due to his career and lifestyle Enzo understandably has trust issues.
They spend a perfect week together absorbed in one in another, however, with Enzo's trust issues, the last day does not go well. Harper leaves hurt and soon finds herself pregnant. Months later, she runs into Enzo, who finds out she is pregnant and realizes the mistake he had made. Harper is an amazing character. She wants to be a mother, she has gone through several treatments of IUI only for nothing to work. You can feel her pain in the beginning and her struggles. Yet, she wasn’t going to give up. Harper’s struggles are a sensitive topic to many, but the way this was all handle is beautiful and it is done in a way to makes it easy to connect with Harper and her struggles. She is such a brilliant character, her heart and soul are so beautiful and to have her tell this story and to see her fall in love made me the happiest person ever. If you like these tropes sports romance (football/soccer), vacation fling, celebrity romance, accidental pregnancy, insta lust, forced proximity, strangers to friends to enemies to friends to lovers This book is for you. I just love how well Jenna Hartley handled all the sensitive issues in this book. One of the best well written books I've read lately as Harper and Enzo owned me body, soul and mind.
Possible triggers infertility, traumatic birthing experience.
Let me start by saying that if I could give this book more than five stars I would. It was such a fanatic read !!!
I'm completely in love with these characters. From the moment I started reading I couldn't stop, I devoured this book in one sitting. Jenna Hartley just has a way with words that captures your attention and makes you fall in love with the story.
I been dying to read Harper's story, from the moment I started the Love in LA series. Her character always intrigued me and now I can say for certain that she is my favorite from this amazing girl gang.
The story begins with heartbreak in my opinion. Harper finds herself in a point of her life where she wants more but she can't achieve it. Her dream of becoming a mom is getting farther and farther away and she is ready to give up. But faith has other plans for her, and it comes in a form of a hot and handsome man name Enzo.
Enzo, is a man that doesn't trust easily. Past experiences have created scars and when he finds himself helping this beautiful American woman he doesn't uncover his real identity which is a famous soccer star. But the attraction for both of them is stronger than anything else and they have the most amazing week together. Unfortunately Enzo's insecurities played at the end and Harper leaves with a shattered heart.
But again faith has other plans and Harper finds herself with a surprise pregnancy and while she is trying to cope with this she finds herself facing the man she never though she see again, Enzo AKA Lorenzo Mancini-famous star soccer player, AKA her baby's father.
This couple's journey is one you don't want to miss reading. It's emotional but also with so many wonderful and beautiful moments. Is a story of love, trust and second chances.
Ever read a book and think, this is just the read I needed right now? Well that was Irreplaceable for me.
One passionate week for Harper and Enzo, ends badly. Never expecting to see Enzo again, everything changes when Harper learns she's pregnant. Enzo wants a second chance. And soon Harper finds herself being thrust into the spotlight with a man she barely knows.
Straight up: that first chapter drew me in. It held emotion that I latched on to. Emotion that I think many women will feel, if not relate to. Then the story dives right in. And I mean insta lust, kindle sizzle. And I wasn't sure how I'd feel about how quickly they just fell into things, it's not my usual thing. But over the course of the story, the way the author weaved it, with heart, humor, heat and emotion... it really grabbed me and I didn't want it to end.
Harper is such a gem. She is such a strong, independent, career focused woman. She knows what she wants and she goes after it. Even if hurts in the end. She has a relatable vulnerability that I think will draw many in to her story. And Enzo. A smooth talker from the start. A tall drink of water. He will take you through a rollercoaster of feelings for him though. He will steam up your kindle, make you want to throw it, and then reel you in with emotion. He put me through the paces, that's forsure. They go through many ups and downs. A lot of it, deliciously steamy. But in the end, these two will have you in your feels, rooting for them.
There were so many additional details in this story that I felt were well done and only added to the reading experience. But I think best of all, were the friendships that these women from the series have. I want to be a member of their crew. It was a such a beautiful ending to this series it brought tears to my eyes. I so look forward to what's next from the author.
"It feels as if we've done everything out of order."
"There is no right order."
"Only what is right for us."
TW: Events related to pregnancy and childbirth (See authors note at the beginning of the book).
*I received an ARC in exchange for my honest review.
Irreplaceable is an interconnected standalone in the Love in LA series by Jenna Hartley. It wrapped up the series beautifully.
Harper desires to be a mother, but the journey is taxing and heartbreaking. As a film location scout, she extends her trip to Bali to relax and regroup, until she is nearly run over by a car. When the gorgeous Italian exits the car and insists she go to the hospital to get her ankle looked at, she refuses knowing it's only a sprain.
Enzo is an international soccer player in Bali for a much-needed break. When his driver nearly runs hits a woman in the street, he insists for her to be seen by a doctor. When she refuses to go to the hospital, he takes charge and carries her back to his home, and insists on taking care of her.
Harper is strong, independent, and stubborn. Enzo is just as stubborn and it doesn't take long for the banter between the two to get heated. Things get steamy! When a misunderstanding takes place due to Enzo's trust issues, they go their separate ways. A few months later Harper discovers that she is pregnant and Enzo finds himself in L.A with a new soccer contract and an opportunity to make his World Cup dream a reality. When Harper and Enzo run into each other, Harper discovers his true identity. Enzo is determined to fix his mistake in Bali and wants a second chance.
The story is incredible. The characters face real issues as they discover "things don't always turn out as planned. “𝑁𝑜𝑛 𝑡𝑢𝑡𝑡𝑒 𝑙𝑒 𝑐𝑖𝑎𝑚𝑏𝑒𝑙𝑙𝑒 𝑟𝑖𝑒𝑠𝑐𝑜𝑛𝑜 𝑐𝑜𝑙 𝑏𝑢𝑐𝑜.” Their journey isn't an easy one, it takes strength. I loved Enzo. He was sexy, romantic, passionate, and possessive. He was determined to fight for Harper and their baby, no matter what it took.
The storyline is emotional, with a touch of sweetness and humor. The story was both heart-melting and heartbreaking as Harper and Enzo reached their happily ever after.
