Reading has always been one of my favorite hobbies, even as a little girl. When I was a toddler, my parents would read stories to me over and over. I would hear them so often that I had the books memorized and could recite the story word by word.

My favorite genres are fantasy, paranormal, and contemporary romance. So of course that's what I'm inclined to write.

I have a husband, two young daughters, and a mini Australian Shepherd. I've lived in Tennessee the majority of my life and love the state.

I'm extremely addicted to caffeine and enjoy drinking coffee and lattes.

This is a new adult/young adult shifter romance. Elena’s the princess of the wolves, but her parents were killed by her uncle years ago. He assumed she died in the accident that killed her parents, and her guardians have done whatever they could to keep her off his radar. Because her uncle is now king, he can sense all wolves that shift. So, she’s been seeing a witch ever since her sixteenth birthday to keep her wolf suppressed. All Elena wants is to live a calm and quiet life as a human.
Despite being in hiding for most of her life, Elena is quite the tough heroine. She doesn’t take cr@p from anyone, and her caustic personality is carefully constructed to keep everyone at an arm’s distance. But when she meets Ella in class during freshman year of college, Ella doesn’t let her push her away. They quickly become friends, despite Ella being a wolf and Elena not being able to let her find out who she really is. And then… Elena meets Ella’s handsome brother–Mason, who just so happens to be her mate.
This is the first in a trilogy, but the plot moves along quite quickly. There are a few loose ends and a light cliffhanger to get readers excited about the second in the series. I’m curious to see where the plot will lead!

Wolves’ Queen is the newest series by Jen L. Grey and dives back into the paranormal realm at a breakneck speed with new characters, new drama, and new romance.
In this book, the author doesn’t hesitate to start the book off with a wild scene that races off with danger nipping at the characters heels. I’ll admit that briefly I thought that maybe…just maybe this main character would be able to grow up with her family. Things end tragically, but the pace of the story keeps me engaged and page-turning. Prepare for a main character with some serious attitude. Elena believes that if she keeps people from getting close that she’ll be safe. Cue Ella. LOL!
I found Elena to be a mixed bag for me. In the beginning, I honestly didn’t like her. I understand wanting to keep distance between yourself and those around you to protect them and yourself, but…seriously?? There were literally moments of where I was screaming in my head “less rude!! Less!!” I applaud Ella for her persistence, but I honestly felt like just about everyone would be hard pressed to get past that attitude of hers.
The book is well-written overall. I will admit that I was surprised that Bridgette doesn’t stick around/pop up more in the book. Instead, another side character is the one who harasses Elena. I found it a bit strange since this other character flexes a couple of times, but isn’t as in your face as Bridgette was. I kept expecting certain characters to be a traitor and the one to expose Elena for what she really is, but the author skates around those expectations and keeps things in the dark…for now. I’m sure that the next book will have some revelations of its own.
Now, I do think that the storyline gets a bit rushed near the end. I was a bit disappointed with how a certain scene plays out. For me, it happens too quickly after all of the build-up over the book. I was expecting something more epic and to be taken over into the next book. I’m disappointed that it’s wrapped up so neatly and quickly. I also didn’t like how Mason tries to guilt his dad. His dad helps them, but Mason wants to act like his dad put stipulations on his help when he doesn’t. It makes Mason look trifling and really ungrateful.
At the end of the day, I’m rating this book 4.5 out of 5 stars. The book is good, and has a lot going for it, but I do feel let down with the battle scene. It’s a bit too neat and tidy for being the reason she’s been on the run all this time. There is a cliffhanger, of course (haha), so I’m curious to see where the author takes this storyline.

Mild spoiler

Rushed. That's the best and only way I can describe this book. There were some major plot holes and ultimately so much of the story was absolutely irrelevant. I feel the pace the story and romance progressed, even if they were fated mates, was absolutely ridiculous. I mean they ran into each other a few times and traded insults with each other then went on one "not date" and the next day she's saying she loves him and thinking even if they weren't fated mates that's how she would feel about him. How? She literally knows nothing about him except he was a womanizer, he goes to the same school as her, he's an alpha, and he's her friends brother. How is she in love with him? The big bad ass chick that is so against commitments instantly knows she would have a loving relationship with him with no other interactions even if fate didn't step in and force their bond..... moving on.

There were so many opportunities to have a great story but rather than pursuing the issues for example -Hey you're my best friend and you've kept this huge secret from me- each issue was immediately addressed and ultimately made pointless to include. His mother is sick and dying and he is fighting illegally to raise money to save her. You see two fights, meet the mom once, have a moment of:"I'm going to do whatever I can to help save her or feel guilty I don't if I don't take my rightful place" this was the main story behind Mason and it gets swept under the rug and d sped on by. It gets one piece of a sentence for resolution. The entire book was rushed and ultimately I didn't care about the characters because I didn't really get a chance to. Once I made it to the end I didn't care about the setup for book 2 and I won't be reading it.

Big "spoilers" below

Okay, this is my big plot hole here. She couldn't shift for fear that her uncle would know where she was because he can sense her then and know where she is and that she's alive.... FIRST of all, her two guardians are still alive!!! He just decided "oh those two got away, darn they showed me, I guess I'll just ignore them". Riiight... Second, again with the sensing, how could anyone possibly sneak onto your property if you know where all of your people are at all times?

I don't know, maybe some of these things get explained away in book 2 and the character development gets better. For me, I really don't care enough to find out.

Great story. Elena and Mason try to fight their fate but I love that they embrace it in the end. I do love that Kassie and Mona raise her. They had me laughing in the book. I enjoyed the book and cannot wait to read the next one!

Mediocre romance, flimsy plot. Not even some decent smut. It's not bad, I just wish the story was worked through a bit more

Wolves Queen is an amazing book. I was not sure what to expect when I picked this book to read. I seriously have a bad habit of judging a book by its cover and not reading the blurb. So with that saying, I read the book due to the cover then after reading five chapters I went back to read the blurb. LOL I can honestly say that this was a great book. It was refreshing, adventurous, secretive, funny and all consuming. I was really into the book. The FMC Elena wants to be left alone. She does not want to socialize with anyone because she is hiding a huge secret. Well then she meets Ella in one of her classes and Ella just inserts herself in Elena's life. This girl is pretty funny and will not let up. Ella has an older brother Mason who is protective of her. So when Elena and Mason meet it is quite impressive. Mason is an alpha and acts like a d-bag thinking he is hot stuff. However, Elena is not having it and will go toe to toe. What they did not know was that by acting the way they were was actually bringing them closer. Is it enough to spill her secrets? What will Mason do if he finds out? It is pretty interesting to know that Elena is a very strong alpha and will need to make some hard decisions. When this story was building, I could not tell which way it would go and I loved that. This book is totally worth a read. I cannot wait to see what will happen next.

This is a great start to a new series by this author, and I'm looking forward to seeing where it takes us. The werewolf princess has been in hiding from those who are bent on destroying her. But when weird things begin to happen, she finds it may be harder to hide than she originally thought. And, she may not just have wolves after her but something even more sinister she may not be able to escape.

There's already a mystery, some wonderful and colorful characters surrounding our heroine. I love that this author always has at least one sarcastic character that helps lighten the mood when things become dangerous. And I think this is a great beginning to an exciting new series. I'm looking forward to seeing where she takes us with this one.

Incredible Story. This was a great read and pulled me in right from the beginning. The characters are easy to love and plot was well thought out. The main character is a spitfire but has a big heart. This book took me on a thrill ride that gave me shivers. It’s unpredictable and will knock your socks off!!

Sweet but not for me

This was a sweet book with sweet characters, but just not for me. I loved how strong the main female character is, but I had a problem connecting to the male characters. Maybe I just need more angst 💁🏾‍♀️

Loving Elena!

I love a good backstory to lend angst and emotional depth to a story and have a main character who feels all of those emotions and acts accordingly. This book has a really cool premise that I enjoyed. Hidden for years till she meets her mate, and then BOOM. Everything starts happening. Ella's a great character and as loyal as they come. I do like the cliffhanger. Its not super painful and doesn't leave you shell-shocked, but it does make me antsy for the next one. Will she be able to get her crown? Will everything be good with her and Mason? They did have a bumpy start..but theyre mates so it should be fine. Except he is going to be a target too. I've got some theories for the next book and I am excited for what's to come!

Elena the lead MC with powerful enemies snarky friends and romantic interest Mason Elle 's brother but thats her college life pretending to be normal and not who she truly is. A happy life ended when her parents died at 6 since then its been a life in the shadows with her too protectors but college will change everything and danger will find her. Like the beginning of a new series by the author each of the characters is well developed even if ahem one of them Mason is a jerk. Good story cant wait for book 2.

I was allowed to read and advance copy of this book via Booksprout and this is my honest review.

Wow this story took me on a wild ride. The main character of Elena is so strong with everything that she has gone through since her parents were killed. She is raised by two amazing women that taught her to strong. So when she goes to college and meets Ella things start to change for Elena in many ways, then when she meets Mason her wolf wants out. So with many twists this book has a bit of it all. Especially with the ending of the book being left on a slight cliffhanger. Cant wait to see what happens next in book two

Good start

Enjoyable read. I love strong female characters, and this one was done nicely. It's sometimes hard to create a mouthy heroine who doesn't come off as a totally a*s****, and this author did it! I loved the H, she was strong, thought things through and wasn't just throwing herself at her love interest. the one thing that I didn't like was her fighting skills, 😒 she's supposed to be a bada** yet she kicks everyone in the balls. I'm hoping the author fixes that in the next book, can't have a fighter who only gets the upper hand in said fight by ball kicking.

I loved Elena’s story. Her guardians rushed her away when she was just a child. Someone was after her throne.
Now she is grown and going to college. All she wants to do is be a normal human and not deal with the drama of the wolves. Enter Ella and Mason who are wolf shifters. Elena and Ella together are my favorite. Mason knows Elena is his mate but fights it just as she does.
Elena won’t get to just ignore her nature and role in society. She will be forced to be one with her wolf and face those opposing her. To reclaim what is rightfully hers, who will live and who will die?
It’s a great story. I’m dying for book two.

Hard to put down

I was foolish to start this book on a work day. Every break I was pulling out my kindle. I was struggling the whole shift, this book was that engaging. Elena and Ella are friend goals. I love the no filter conversations and a shared love of lattes. No insta love with her mate either, which was a welcome change from the usual. Excited to see how the characters evolve in the next two books.

This is one princess you don't want to mess with

This is my first book that I've read of the author's, and I enjoyed the storyline and am invested to see what happens next. Elena is the *dead* princess that has had to go to great lengths to remain in hiding her entire life. When she starts college and fate delivers her true mate, the wolf is out of the bag and the story progresses quickly from there. As great as the fated couple are, I really loved the E&E relationship, and I look forward to what comes next in book 2, Wolf Unleashed.

Wolves' Queen is the first in The Royal Heir paranormal series. Elena's story starts off fast and continues with one twisted turn after another. Read to find out what happens when Elena is faced with choosing between accepting her fated mate and her wolf or to stay hidden from her past. This tale is filled with deceit, betrayal, fated mate, love and a loyalty that few ever get to experience.

I really enjoyed this paranormal romance! I'm not a big werewolf shifter reader, but now and then I come across really good ones. This is not really a spicy book but thick with plot. The fmc was hiding from her certain future until she happens upon her fated mate which breaks everything loose. Ends on cliffhanger. The entire trilogy is already written. Great read.

I received this book in exchange for an honest review, all opinions are my own.
I really enjoyed this book! It’s very steady paced so things don’t feel rushed or too slow.
I absolutely loved that Elena is a kickass character and that she is the Queen and will rule. Not like normal stories where they just assist the King. The storyline was great and I didn’t want it to end.
I love how some small elements were linked to bigger pictures that have been half revealed and lead into the next story arc. Will definitely be picking up book 2 at some point!

The book is so amazing I could not put it down for anything! I loved how she finally got out of her shell and let someone in and finally got the friend she needed. There is so many parts of this book I loved. I loved the plot the cliffhanger the fighting the details in this book is almost mind blowing I can actually visualize it and that’s shockingly epic!!! I can not wait to find out what happens next in this new world you created. If anyone’s read Bloodshed Academy you’ll love this series just as much as this one if not maybe more so if that’s possible lol. Also if you haven’t yet I highly recommend you do and also Half-Breed Prison which is set in the same world as Bloodshed Academy just years before Half-Breed Prison.

Thank you for letting me read this amazingly epic book!
