"Redeeming Lottie was a true delight and was one of the sweetest stories that I've come across in quite a while. It was such a feel good read! I'm talking about the type that leaves you all mushy at the end thinking 'Oh my gosh, that was so sweet' and wanting to share with everyone. With fun and feisty characters and its story laced with small-town charm, I enjoyed everything about this incredibly sweet and passionate second-chance romance!" –DG Book Blog
“A Reason To Stay by Melissa Ellen is the first book in the Blackwood Series featuring Ava, a college student who is disillusioned with love and has experienced loss, and Rhett, a billionaire player with a vindictive and manipulative ex. Ava and Rhett develop a relationship with many ups and downs. I recommend this novel which is a well written read with wonderful characters, heartfelt emotions, and a plot with secrets, unexpected twists, and a romance filled with the complexity of life.” –Amazon Reviewer
"I absolutely devoured this mafia romance! With twists and turns that kept me guessing until the very end and chemistry that had me fanning myself, Melissa Ellen kept me up way past my bedtime to finish this story. If you like suspenseful reads, couples that feel fated in the stars, and action that will keep your heart pounding, you don't want to miss Honor!" –Catherine Cowles, Author of the Sutter Lake Series
Melissa Ellen is an indie author of contemporary romance. She writes about modern-day couples that give you all the feels. A lover of both the big city and small towns, her stories are set in both. A Reason To Stay, book one of the Blackwood Series, was her debut novel.
She grew up as a bookworm, reading anything and everything, and still tries to read at least a book a week. She's always had an active imagination. Luckily, she now has time to put it to good use writing about the characters constantly swarming around in her head.
She went from designing buildings to crafting stories while living in Texas with her husband, son, their rescue dog, and her five chickens. Her number one goal in life is to own some land with a mini moo (tiny cow) and a horse. When she's not writing, you'll find her tackling her latest architectural design project, reading a good book, gardening, or spending time with her family.
Melissa Ellen's writing style is characterized by its relatable characters, emotional resonance, and ability to blend humor and heart into her stories. If you enjoy contemporary romance novels with depth, humor, and heartwarming themes, then Melissa Ellen's books are definitely worth checking out.

Redeeming Lottie This is such a sweeping, emotional story; encompassing life, loss, love, and second chances. I loved Tucker. Loved, loved, loved Tucker. Lottie made me mental. I realize she has a lot of baggage and history that tell her there’s no such thing as a ‘forever love’, but the lengths she goes to in order to avoid any meaningful connections with other living human beings made me scream at my reader. I loved that she’s independent and accomplished and so capable of taking care of herself, but I hated how hard she was running away from something so amazing. Tucker is what book boyfriend dreams are made of. He’s so sweet and caring and he’s loved her just about his whole life. I want a Tucker of my own. A Reason To Stay I spent the first part of this book wondering just exactly what I’d gotten myself into and how fast I could get myself out of it. But I’d made a commitment and I don’t take those lightly. Somewhere along the line, I’m not totally sure where, I got caught up in Ava and Rhett’s whirlwind romance. Knowing that this book is only the beginning of their story, and having read where the next book picks up, I became desperate to know how it happened. I think Rhett is a love-sick, possessive, oblivious idiot. He places trust where it shouldn’t be and yet doesn’t fully trust the one person he should. Because of her past experiences, Ava is overly sensitive to hints of infidelity. Mind you, there’s truth in that old wisecrack “just because you’re paranoid, doesn’t mean they’re not out to get you.” While she should probably give Rhett more of her trust, some of the people around him are extremely deserving of her suspicion. The supporting cast is filled with wonderful characters that occasionally try to steal the show, and it was so much fun watching them trying to run away with the script. Honor Wow. I have no idea where this series is going to go next, but if this book is an example, I want to be there to see it. There are so many cleverly plotted twists, turns, and miss-directions that I was starting to doubt my own loyalty by the end. Mario and Lena were positively adorable together. The only issue I had was my own fault. There are some mentions in the story to previous events that left me scratching my head, wondering what I’d missed. Well, what I’d missed was just about the whole Blackwood series and that’s why I was missing those couple of references. You don’t have to have read the series to enjoy this book, but I wonder how different it would look if I had…?
Launching into Love is a fabulous introduction for anyone yet to read Melissa Ellen or even if you have to get a little taste of the different tropes she can write. In launching into Love you get the first book in 3 different series. All I can say each book will have you one clicking for the next book after you are finished reading. You get the sweet, second chance, high school romance in Redeeming Lottie. Lottie seems to be always running. Once you get her back story you understand her a whole lot more. Tucker is sweet as can be. He will make you swoon just by the fact that he is raising his niece. He is sweet with him grandma too. You can still feel the love between Lottie and Tucker even when Lottie fights so hard against it. Once they figure things out a little more you get this sweet romance that will just pull at your heart.
Then you get the hot, sexy, billionaire romance that leaves you with such a book hang over with A Reason to Stay. The good news is that the second book is out and ready for you to one click. Believe me you will be one clicking just to find out what Ava and Rhett are up to. Ava is sweet and just trying to keep her head down focus on her studies and hang with her best friends. Rhett is that billionaire that knows what he wants and that is Ava. There is a strong pull between them and they burn fast and hot. They are sweet together and you just wait for everything to fall into place. I almost forget the little road block thrown in that will have you reaching for the next book as quickly as you can.
Finally you have that forbidden, suspense, mafia romance with Honor. Let me tell you with Honor you will fly by the pages and really get sucked into Mario and Lena's world. You are kept on your toes as Mario helps take down a few members of the mafia and get his love out of the clutches of danger. Mario and Lena's love is so sweet.

This was an exciting way to get the beginning of each series with a collaboration of three first books in one !! How can you go wrong with a Cowboy, a Billionaire and the Mafia !!
All three are different in there own way but they all have a woman and a sexy, hot man that they need and want by there side !!
They went from Hot to Hotter to Hottest !! They words flowed and there was never a dull moment !!
One thing that did stand out to me was how Lily grabbed at your heart strings !! Even though she wasn't the main focus .. she became mine and Lottie was my hero !! From the sad family up bringing to always having and wanting one man by her side that would never let her down .. she just had to realize and dig deep to find out who and where he always was !!
A good read for people who are in to the series recommend highly can't wait for the next one of the series a really enjoyable read but long still enjoyable read some stories are better than others but enjoyable shaping up to be a enjoyable series must read the next one of the series
Really enjoyed this series of books. Missed the one about Val Blackwood but will certainly read it at some time. Mario and Lena’s story more violent. However added to plot line.
