This was my first time reading a Gabrielle Meyer book and I just loved it. A wonderful story of how God gives second chances, how we shouldn't let our past hurts determine whether we will step out in faith in the future. This thread really ministered to me in a situation. Truly it did. This is just a precious, precious story and I was great moved by it.
My thanks to the author and publisher for a copy of this book. I was not compensated in any way and the opinion in this review is entirely my own.
Gabrielle Meyer always delivers a great story and A Home for Her Baby is just wonderful! 5 stars!
Max Evans is desperate for forgiveness and a second chance after making a big mistake in high school ten years ago. His best friend Piper Connelly can't see her way clear to give Max that second chance because everyone in her life has either abandoned her or let her down, Max included. There's quite a big divide separating where they are and where Max hopes them to one day be!
The path to love is never easy and I enjoyed reading Max and Piper's journey. I loved the Warren House Bed and Breakfast setting and some brief glimpses of characters from other Timber Falls books too. The last couple of chapters were so good and tugged on my heartstrings to the point I was swooning and grinning like crazy! A tenderhearted romantic read!
I appreciate the author providing a copy of A Home for Her Baby for review. All thoughts and opinions are my very own.
I loved the small town aspects of the story! Very fun and I enjoyed the themes of redemption and forgiveness. I did feel like the story had Hallmark “vibes” and could be a bit cheesy, but that could just be me! If you like second chance romance, you might enjoy this ☺️
Love love and love this story!! We all have things in the past that we wish we could go back and do differently, especially if those choices hurt people that we love. It's a horrible feeling knowing that no matter how much we wish it were possible there is no going back, only forward. Thankfully God is the God of forgiveness, hope, second chances, and miracles we never saw coming.
Wow, this was such a beautiful love story! This is my first time reading Ms. Meyers' book, and I thought it was fascinating.... Excellent characters description with a phenomenal story line....I love how she uses God to show how he helps us all in different ways.....Highly recommended
Another excellent read by Gabrielle Meyer! Piper and Max are easy to like and fun to watch as they struggle, grow and forgive through out the story. Great character development of secondary character, Tad, as well. Meyer's descriptions of the city, characters, the bed and breakfast make it very easy to picture then in your mind. I love all the similarities of Timber Falls to Meyer's hometown as well!
Three lessons learned from "A Home for Her Baby" 1. People change! A quote from the book. "Maybe that was who you used to be," she said, "but it doesn't have to be who you are anymore. Anyone can change." 2. Forgiveness is a process, but once given you can not hold that person's sins against them forever. Also, don't hold other people's sins against someone who didn't commit them because you are afraid they might hurt you again or in the same way others have. 3. Tell the people you love that you love then often, even if you think they know. It can change the relationship in a heartbeat.
A wonderful story of love, tragedy, community and forgiveness. After any tragedy, big or small, everyone needs and deserves all four of these to heal and move on.
2 thumbs up! 5 stars! I would love a sequel to hear the continuing story of Max and Piper's family and to hear Max's brother Tad's story.
I was given a copy of this book from the author. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Set in Timber Falls, Minnesota, A Home for Her Baby features engaging, relatable characters who will capture your heart; a smoothly flowing, attention-keeping plot; sweet romance that tugs at the heart stings; and an inspiring faith element. It is a moving story of second chances, reconciliation, and faith that will grab you from the beginning, hold on to you long after the last line is read, and maybe even elicit a few tears! Thanks to Ms. Meyer’s expressive style and attention to detail, I could feel the tension and emotions between Max and Piper as they struggle to make amends and forgive. If you are looking for an easy-to-read, heartwarming story, I highly recommend this one! Although I have read several of Ms. Meyer’s short stories in various anthologies, this is the first of her novels I have read. I am definitely looking forward to reading more of her works! I received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own.
She's been heartbroken too many times. And he might have done the most damage. But is a second chance possible? Piper and Max are thrown together again a decade after he abandoned her in their small-town home of Timber Falls. Can she learn to forgive the people in her life, including Max, who have let her down? Can she come out of hiding from the pain that won't let her move on? Can he forgive himself for the hurt and disappointment he's caused the people around him? Gabrielle Meyer has captured the heartaches and joys of two broken lives in a story that grabs you from Page One and keeps you until The End. If you like stories with real characters whose lives are messy but redeemable, that make you laugh and cry and cheer, then this story is for you. I was given a copy of this book by the author. These are my own honest thoughts and opinions.
This is my first book by this author. Max Evans is back in his hometown that he ran away from after making many mistakes. His mom convinces him to buy a bed and breakfast that unbeknownst to him belonged to his high school ex-girlfriend. So it’s no surprise that when he meets the previous owner and now manager that he is floored to realize the widow his mom told him owned the bed and breakfast isn’t old like he thought. Intrigued yet? If not, then you still need to get this book. Gabrielle Meyer does an excellent job of throwing surprises into this story. She also makes it hard not to fall for the lead characters and want them to get back together. This book is a beautiful story of forgiveness, redemption and coming home.

A story of second chances, author Gabrielle Meyer writes a heart warming tale of high school sweethearts who find each other again. But is it enough?
Characters Piper and Max are both looking to start over in a safe place; a place to heal from hurts, and a place to grow into for the future. Meyer’s characters have depth and personality. They seem so real that I found myself cheering them on. I also loved her descriptions of places, the bed and breakfast, the football games. And who doesn’t love a story with a pregnant woman on the verge of giving birth to a beautiful baby? If you enjoy contemporary Christian fiction or the Love Inspired Inspirational Romances, then I highly recommend A Home for Her Baby.
I received a complimentary copy of this book but was not required to leave a review.
I really enjoyed reading A Home for Her Baby. I loved Max’s character. He came home to coach high school football after retiring from the NFL. To his surprise he finds high school sweetheart. She is managing the bed and breakfast that he brought. Piper is a widow who is having a baby. Will Piper and Max re-connect? Read this wonderful book to find out. I also loved Max’s brother Tad. He had a lot to deal with in his life. Tad and Max had a lot of time to make up.
I received a complimentary copy of the book from the author. This book review is my own opinion.
What a sweet story! Max Evans is returning home to Timber Falls MN. He is now an ex NFL player, but he needs to be forgiven for blowing his high school football championship game and breaking Piper Pierson’s heart. Max buys a bed-and-breakfast from an “old widow” that needed the money. The widow turns out to be his high school sweetheart, now Piper Pierson Connelly, who is pregnant. Piper has been let down by her parents, Max, and her late husband, Nick. Can she forgive all that and give Max a second chance?
Even though it was a short story, this had some depth to it. I love the characters, and this small town of people. If you have read any of Gabrielle Meyer's Love Inspired books, she does have some characters from those books make an appearance in this one! There is a bit of a miscommuntication trope in this book which isn't my favorite trope.
Yay for second chances. Loved this book. I love the town of Timber Falls. I'm hoping this won't be the last book in this town. Fell in love with the characters. I can't wait to read more books from this author. I was given a copy of this book by the author. I was not required to leave a review. The words are strictly my own.
There's something to be said about characters that end up facing their past mistakes. Max made a huge blunder as a high school student, prior to his NFL career, and going back to his hometown certainly was not easy. I love the ride that Meyer put him on. I wondered for awhile what he actually did. And as the story developed, and you learned more about Max, I learned that Max represents a lot of us. We make mistakes and want to kind of hide from them for awhile. Or maybe forever. But what Max learned, and what we all can learn, is that sometimes we put more pressure on ourselves than we need to. I think Max was more upset about his blunders (with the exception of Piper) than the town was, and that's probably true for us as well. Forgiveness is a powerful theme in any novel, and I like the approach that Meyer took in this book. It made the lesson relatable to me in a way I didn't expect.
A Home for Her Baby is a lovely story. The town is inviting, the characters are charming, and Piper and Max have a connection that's hard to look away from. Meyer sprinkles little surprises throughout the story that left me with a smile on my face. And reading about a man who will do just about anything to help the woman he loves, including taking care of the inn, well that will just get me right there. :)
Contemporary romance fans will enjoy the latest in the Love Inspired Novel from Meyer. Highly recommend. I received a complimentary copy of this book. I was not required to write a favorable review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
A sweet small-town romance about second chance love. I liked the characters of Max and Tad, and the development of their relationship. I also really appreciated that Max’s character was deeper than just a love interest. He needed a second chance on many levels. A very quick read with a happy ending.
I really liked this book. It was the first I read by this author. The characters were real and I liked them. You found yourself hoping for them to have their happy ending. I love the way it was written and how it made me feel while reading it.
A wonderful second chance romance set at a B&B! I loved these characters and their charming small town and B&B. I was engaged from page one and couldn't wait to see how it was all going to play out and get to the HEA. I wasn't disappointed! Loved it!
Another great story set in the fictional town of Timber Falls, Minnesota! I love these inspirational stories by Author Gabrielle Meyer. Her beautiful skill with the pen enables the reader to see the places she writes about and connect with believable characters and issues. Once I start, I can't stop turning pages. In "A Home for Her Baby" Piper is a strong, and kind woman despite years of hardship since she was nine years old. Max, her best friend for many years, left town 10 years ago and broke her heart. He is back after a stint in the NFL to make amends to his family, friends, and the town he grew up in. I love stories of forgiveness, and second chances. There was also a theme of respecting and wanting what is best for the other person whether it's what you want or not.
I think you should check it out! I highly recommend A Home for Her Baby by Gabrielle Meyer.
I thank the author and publisher for allowing me to read an early copy. All opinions are my own.
Sweet story. Max and Piper were high school sweethearts, but then one night changed that all. Years later Max returns home where he has purchased a local B & B. What he doesn't know is the former owner and now manager is Piper who is newly widowed and pregnant. Will these two be able to move beyond the hurts from their past and is there a future for them togther?
A baby on the way was a dream come true, but the events preceding its coming were trials that weighed heavy. Could she work out all the details of her life to make a home for her cherished child? Would a relationship complicate things more? This was an enjoyable read with lots of fun plot details to keep you interested. For me, it was extra fun because it was set in my hometown and I know the house, too! It is a delightful story that you will enjoy.
This was my first time reading a Gabrielle Meyer book and I can tell you, it won't be my last. Set in Timber Falls, Minnesota, A Home for Her Baby, is a story of second chances, being vulnerable and learning to forgive others and self. The characters were relatable and engaging. I have found myself thinking about of the characters long after I finished the story. I hope we might see them again in a future story line.
I was given a complimentary copy of this book but was not required to leave a review.
The writing is bad, and there's a lot of telling and no showing. The only thing the writer bothers to describe is all of Piper's outfits. The whole book is just a pity party for Piper and her circumstances. I, however, felt bad for her husband; he got a bad rap and it seemed unjustified. It seemed like she was irresponsible with their money and didn't take his feelings into account, and I'm not sure why I should feel bad for her when that ends up screwing her. Finally, the Christian stuff is a thin facade papered over this. You could take it out and it wouldn't change anything.
*I hated my experience reading this because Glose app sucks. 0/10.
