Starting Over: Two Werewolves for Peter

Rate this book
Can Peter handle two alpha werewolves? He's going to find out...

Set up to take the fall for a crime he didn't commit, Peter faces ten years behind bars at Lockland Omega Penitentiary.

It's hell.

Unable to handle the intense heat-blockers used to keep the prison under control, he decides to sign up for the Delinquent Omega Matching Program, hoping against hope that a good alpha is better than spending the best years of his life drugged up and locked away in a cell.

The program assigns him to Tex Wilson and Carver Wilde. The two alphas have been searching for a mate for years, and when Peter reads their profiles, he understands why. They're the kind of alphas that send sane omegas running for the hills. Dominant, aggressive, and kinky in ways that Peter has no idea how to deal with, the idea of belonging to them scares the living daylights out of him.

How the program decided that they were compatible with him, Peter has no idea...

(This 110k word paranormal romance has a HEA and no cliffhanger.)

DNF @15%

This is just porn without plot. And the very little plot it does have it’s boring and basic.

What stopped me from continuing? One of the main characters has a foot fetish and I wasn’t warned about it until I started reading the book. I am all for no kinkshame but ew. Why is he shoving his big toe in his mouth??? Specially when he just came from buying food outside, wearing boots and he didn’t even washed his feet before shoving said foot inside Peter’s mouth. God, that was gross. Feet are gross.

I am not tagging this as spoiler because if you want nothing to do with feet, this is your warning. The only warning you will get.

The author walks the tightrope of dubcon but eventually falls right over the edge. One of the dominant partners was mostly caring, the other was a complete a$$hat with over the top sense of entitlement over the omega’s life and will. While the author tried to make the reader understand that the omega was neutral to happy about his circumstances I didn’t feel it from the characters just the words on the page. I gave up on the story so I can’t recommend it.

Starting Over : Two Werewolves for Peter is a super kinky omegaverse story with all the hallmarks of a DJ Heart story.

We have omega Peter, who has been framed for a crime by his uncle and sister. He now faces ten years of prison, which will entail being drugged with suppressants. However, there’s an omega matching program in which convicted omegas would be matched with Alphas, who are often not wanted by most omegas. He decides to take his chance and ends up being matched with an Alpha Pair - Tex and Carver.

Carver’s ruts have been out of control, putting them at risk. Tex and he need an omega to balance them and help calm his out-of-control ruts. However, Carver is a sexual sadist with an inclination for bondage, corporal punishment, and domination, so most omegas reject him due to this. Tex decides to go behind his back and sign them for the controversial matching program. Despite Carver being upset at having to resort to getting an omega who has no choice, they realize that Peter is everything they could have ever dreamt of in an omega.

“Your ruts are getting worse for a reason. You need Peter. Don’t waste time feeling guilty about it. Peter would much rather be with us than in prison, and we’re going to make him so happy and content that he can’t even stand it.”

“We’re going to make sure Peter has a good life,” Tex said, neither one of them moving out of the car. “We’re going to make him happy, and he’s going to make us happy, and none of us will have to think about how he got here. It’s not going to be an issue.”

Despite society working towards improving the lives of Omegas, the prison matching program makes him the property of his new Alphas. He wants to go back to school and live his life, but he’s also worried about his Alpha’s wanting him homebound or worse. He also knows he’s innocent but worries about how Tex and Carver view him.

Tex and Carver are married, but at the end of the day, they’re both very dominant Alphas and have needs the other can not fulfill. They need an omega to balance them, and Peter knows he also needs an Alpha. Their sexual dynamic really works well between them.

He would never have tolerated Carver speaking to him like that in the bedroom—would never allow himself to be dominated and talked down to—but hearing it directed at Peter was hot as fuck.

Rather than feel trapped, Peter just felt… settled. There was something strangely nice about being completely unable to move, Tex and Carver’s hold on him absolute and non-negotiable.

Peter wasn’t ashamed of this part of himself. He was an omega, and it was in his nature to obey. He liked to obey. There was nothing quite so wonderful as an alpha you could trust telling you what to do.

Tex and Carver are super Alphas. There’s a huge size difference, Peter is 5’4, and they’re around 6’4. Tex is very domineering and a bit of a bully who likes to throw his weight around with Peter, who loves it.

Peter’s hole had never been so wet or so empty. He stared at his alphas—his beautiful hulking alphas with their hard bodies, chiseled faces, and massive cocks—and wondered why they weren’t fucking him. Not even in his worst heat had he craved a knot this badly.

There’s a lot of kinks once again! It won’t be a DJ Heart book, especially with a sadist like Carver finally having a more submissive partner who enjoys it. Mouth knotting too!

Taking a knot in his mouth was horrible. It filled his mouth and throat, making him feel like he was choking, and the way it stretched his lips and jaw was pure agony. On the other hand, Peter had never felt so deliciously empty-headed and submissive as he did with Carver’s knot in his mouth. It made him feel like a hole—like a thing to be used—and for some god-awful reason, Peter liked that.

I think this story also had a vacuum bed (which was totally new to me) and more. It was hot, and some of the sex acts were pretty rough and would be a lot for some readers. There’s a scene in which Carver ignores Peter’s safe word, but they talk about it.

“I have a safeword, and you took it away without discussing it with me. Tex is right. That’s not okay.” “You don’t sound angry,” Carver said, confused. “But I think I should be,” Peter said, looking up at him over his shoulder. “I had fun yesterday, sure, but what if I had panicked or suddenly didn’t like it anymore?”

So I appreciate that it was addressed and that Tex was there to keep his Alpha in check and ensure Peter had a say. Peter also gets to explore his sexual fantasies; he’s submissive and a masochist.

Overall, I enjoyed it! I’m officially a fan of D.J. Heart and absolutely love the shifter/omegaverse world he’s created. This story is very erotic, kinky and steamy.

Loved it. If you don't like raunchy kink (like a fetish for feet and toe sucking) sit this one out. I loved how the three men were together - the two alpha's and their fights for dominance, Peter with his omega instincts but still standing up for himself. Hot hot sex. Good story - though it will not be to everyone's taste. This is a little less "dubious or non consent" flavored them some of my other faves from this author. A little more romantic if you understand the romance here is IN the sex as well.

I almost gave this book only four stars because there were many similarities to Evan’s Alphas. I still enjoyed it immensely and had to give it five stars.

D. J. Heart certainly knows how to create super alphas and sweet submissive omegas. I f you like this kind of stories, then you will love this one.

Conservative bdsm slavery club 😤

So here's the thing we get two alphas that BUY a omega basically slavery but they play that he has a choice but he really does not, yet we kinna say well they are liberal and the bad conservative bdsm club is the one with slavery ideas like today's conservative little woman in home .😤
Trite and true to form a book that has the liberals doing the thing we accuse conservatives of doing but they are doing it with GOOD intentions. This cliche writing is what gets me aggravated. This is nothing more than a book with nothing but sex and its tinny plot poking at political agenda. Small minds think everyone is the same and that they are experts on it so they make a platform to inform the masses.
I DON'T WANT TO READ THIS IN MY FICTION.
And please give up writing the same old poor omega that is bound by his body to take any alpha and omg please come up where it's not like a date rape drug and pass this off as consent🤷 getting tired of this genre. No I don't know you but your body says lets sex it up cause that's all that matters Its starting to make me feel like I'm reading rape books and that's icky .😞
You basically have two alphas that are married that bought a sex slave to fix their rut problem while preaching about conservative being the traditional slave owners.
To say this small plot with descriptive sex scenes kinda pi## me off is an understatement.
Writers leave the soap box and write FICTION with a.plot.😤

2.5 Ummm, porn-with-a-little-plot? This kept me hot and bothered for over half the time. And, in fairness, the eros here is more about the dynamics than the in-and-out. But the plot is completely perfunctory; all that's really going on here is a submissive and pain-loving omega being pushed to his limits. Ethically very dubious. Good thing it's a fantasy.

Super hot, great story.

Really enjoyed this omegaverse, m/m/m story. Tex and Carver are both alpha werewolves and married to each other. An omega is needed for an alpha’s knot and well being. Obtained through less than moralistic means arrives omega Peter.
My favorite things about this book:
1) the kink, and there are so many explored here! From playful objectification/humiliation to leather men to fisting to dp in the same hole, there’s a plethora here. Personally, I was bummed over Peter’s no to water sports.
2) knotting by overly large alphas who are also werewolves. Nothing happens in shifted/half shifted form (unfortunately for my twisted fantasies).
3) the beautiful lack of a typical breakup or lame understanding 3/4 of the way through. Many romances find drama around the 80% mark resulting in someone storming out, breaking up, needing a break, whatever. Ecstatically, this was not the case for Tex, Carver, and Peter. The drama came from outside their dynamic.
The part I thought could use some more work was the storyline outside the three men. With two strikingly strong alphas, werewolves no less, you don’t expect others to fix things for them or hand out the ultimatums. I would prefer Tex and Carver to be the take-no-prisoner alphas who handle their situations and rule their surroundings through wit and out-smarting the opponents, but that wasn’t the case. And the plot line with Peter’s drama…why and how he just hands over the password information…my god. Whyyyyy? It was poorly done.
I still truly enjoyed the story though and will def be checking out more of this author!

I don't know why this author is so good at sucking me into what is essentially just one sex scene after another. But... DJH manages it easily. This says a lot because I generally dislike the "self lubing ass" omega trope. Inventive sex, some plot to string it all together, likeable characters. I admit that I felt like Peter was just a little to forgiving of the club disaster and that I didn't understand why Tex never seemed to go into "rut" like Carter but whose paying attention when there is so much hot muscle bound sex?

Dub con, plus one non con scene, omegaverse smut. Really wanted to like this book because the sex was so HAWT but the MCs were a total FAIL.

Omega Peter was TSTL. He was a pushover to his alphas and his family. Carver was totally unsafe while Travis was barely protective. Carver was an asshat plus a sloppy attorney. Boring relationship but nice raunchy sex.

3.5

I really liked it at first even when things were a little dub-con, sure they offered to go at Peter's pace but all too often they pushed and Peter really wasn't in the position to say no.
Then it just got to be a little too much. They were constantly at it and there were lot of pages. Quite often it was rough too so there were no opportunities for softer emotional connections.
The lack of dialogue before they tried stuff was really disconcerting so while some scenes were hot, some were off putting

You know what? I liked it. It’s like almost 3.5 stars. Heart doesn’t over-promise or under-deliver — this is smut, and that’s what you wanted. That’s what you’re here for. There’s a thin veneer of plot, but you’re fine ignoring all those chapters. And I’m good with that.

DNF page 145. 20th June, 2025.

♦i want to preface this by saying i don’t like stories with couples taking a 3rd. And yet, i was invested for this one? And Tex grew on me? Probably becuz the couple’s sole focus was Peter and not so much on e/o? But that’s not why i dnf-ed. Nope. It was the classic reason why i dnf all such books.

It’s very simple. i had to sit through some pretty hardcore kinks that i very much don’t enjoy, just to get nothing by the time actual shit takes place. For all the reactions Pete shows during the kinks and sex acts he’s completely silent when it mattered the most. The sex. WTF?? And it’s a first time type of shit.

// This has boot licking, feet & armpit related kinks. Not my thing at all, so i skipped and it’s okay to do that. It goes without saying if it’s yours, it’s yours. There’s lot of leather actions as Tex is a leather Sir so that was hot indeed.

There was everything happening but the sex (intercourse), the focus was more on different sex acts and so i had to skip most of them. But that’s a me issue. i’m sure it was hot, just not for me. And the man’s been responsive in all of it.

There’s lots of saying there’ll be lots of knotting. But 140 pages in, there’s nothing. Nada. Zilch. All the skipping got very tiresome. First knot scene happened around page 145 and that’s when instead of show it became only tell. It’s all about how Peter feels, the history yada yada you know the drill. First time he’s taking a knot and it’s as if he’s mute or something.

And i wouldn’t have minded this much had they not been teasing the fuck out of this very special big knot time that’s about to happen and amping it up like crazy. Only for what? A mute guy? Where’s the intimacy (not that this story had any to begin with)? Where’s the reaction to the actual action?? Nothing? Ok.

No, thank you then. i refuse to waste my time and mood further.

I enjoyed this story, but I didn't feel that it was as original as 'Whatever It Takes' or 'Evan's Alphas'.

Peter didn't have a lot of character on his own - which sort of surprised me since he hadn't considered himself to be submissive before he went to prison. Tex and Carver had more than enough character to make up for it. I liked that the relationship between the two alphas had to adapt and adjust when Peter came into the picture. But that both men were open to that change.

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

I enjoyed this one for what it was, a super fun smutty read with hard-core BDSM and omegaverse. The characters were all enjoyable. Not much focus is on plot but I feel like there is enough story to get you invested in these guys lives and feel bad for Peter's misfortunes. Lucky for him his misfortunes brought him two sexy new Alphas.

Interesting world, where the titular trio has a really rough (unjust) start, but ends with the throuple having lots of kinky sex and falling in love towards the end. I thought that Peter’s estranged family were going to cause a lot more problems, but they didn’t cause many. I wonder if they will appear in future books? Oh whoops. There is no sequel. Well ok then. This is a good story, with pretty hardcore kink, including werewolves and (human) omegas and lots of knotting.

In a world run by Alphas and werewolves, Peter is lost. He was framed by his uncle and sister, and ends up behind bars for ten years. His only out is to go through the Delinquent Omega Matching Program where he would be paired with unknown Alpha – or Alphas – and be forced to live the rest of his life as their pet.

Peter would have once told you that he would never choose being a slave over being behind bars but the heat-blockers can change your mind. Now, paired with two Alphas, Peter finds himself outside, with a chance at second life. The only problem is: these two Alphas would have sent Peter running for hills.

[No abuse]

My Opinion

Please don’t ask me why I picked this book up to read because honestly, I have no answer. There’s not much in the sense of plot. I thought that with the word count, we’d see Peter’s name cleared, but that’s not so. Simply put this book is a collection of various fetishes and is purely smut.

When the story moved beyond sex, Peter was so annoying that frankly, the only reason I completed it was because I hate the thought of having yet another ‘DNF!’ He’s character can be called naive, but that would be a huge stretch.

All I have to say is: don’t go in for the plot.

Enjoyed it but felt like there was stuff missing

The alphas had been together for years and there was hardly any interaction with each other. Also would have like the back story of how they got together instead of just a few comments about one of their families not liking the other.
Side stories about blackmail and kidnapping felt unnecessary.

Bad Plot, Badly Written

Where do I begin. I guess nobody really proof reads these. Liter red with spelling mistakes and confused use of names, screwing up the plot. The plot it self is confusing and does not any kind of a finish.

Give a pass and save yourself from wasting time.

3.5 stars. For what it is, I would potentially rate it higher. It's unapologetically about the kink. I usually have a problem with omegaverse but I didn't mind it here. Moreso my complaints lie in the relationship dynamics. My two big complaints are something I see a lot in menage/poly books, where one character is near/the sole focus of the two other protags of the work. Which, okay, not the biggest deal. But it annoys me when this happens and the other two in question are supposed to be in love.

Which is the case here. I liked Peter, Tex, and Carver. But the inciting circumstances for this whole book hinges on the idea that Tex and Carver, a happily married couple, are under the threat of a ticking time bomb. This time bomb being that Carver needs an omega mate in order to control ruts that have a high chance of turning fatal one day. Not having any success under traditional matchmaking services due to Carver's inclination toward the sadistic end of BDSM, Tex enlists a program that pairs incarcerated Omegas with alphas who can pay for the service. This is legal sex slavery in the narrative and rightfully a hot-button issue in this world. Carver is opposed to it but Tex is scared of losing his husband so he enrolls in this program without Carver's knowledge.

So, with this setup, you feel like a pair that are so devoted to one another that one knowingly does this to preserve his life would have some sort of larger focus on their relationship dynamics and how they interact as a couple. But nope. Immediately these two are obsessed with Peter. And I don't blame this on Peter. I liked Peter. But for a married couple so deeply in love that they defied their parents' wishes to be together and engaged in the purchase of a sex slave to save the life of one another they acted more like bros to me than a married couple. They kiss a few times, but every moment of intimate contact between these two without Peter immediately involved can be counted on one hand. Which is disconcerting in the length this book was and that all three of them had equal time as the point of view character. The one time we do actually have just Carver and Tex actually physically have sex with one another without Peter involved, it immediately fades to black.

I do otherwise like the characters. Peter is not a meek little thing to be admired. He has agency in this narrative despite this book starting with him being bought. Tex and Carver listen to his wants and needs and accommodate him. They hold each other accountable for their actions when any of the three feel like someone is pushing established limits. Despite my earlier complaint that it felt like Tex and Carver felt more like bros than they did a longtime married couple, there's respect for one another. So I give a recommend, but to reiterate I really would have liked to see Carver and Tex be just as intimate with one another as they'd been with Peter the whole book.

So Steamy

DJ Heart always has an interesting concept. I found this one to be very intriguing. Instead of serving a prison sentence, Peter decides to use a delinquency matching program, where he basically gets sold to a compatible alpha. Well, alphas, in this case.

Tex and Carver were an interesting pair. Tex was in the instigator in terms of purchasing Peter and Carver was not on board, initially. Well, for a dominant alpha, all it takes is close proximity to a sexy omega and Carver gets on board pretty quick. There were a lot of things going in this book, different threads to keep track of. However, they weren’t hard to follow. I enjoyed the relationship between Tex, Carver and Peter. One would assume that two highly dominant alphas would just bulldoze an omega into doing what they wanted. Tex and Carver agree from the beginning that they would do anything without Peter’s permission first. This was reassuring in that we knew Peter gave consent and was okay with what was happening to him. With that being said, I can’t fail to mention that Carver certainly pushes that consent to the dubious territory by doing something to Peter without express permission. I won’t go into to detail because I don’t want to spoil the book, But Carver certainly has to pay the price with Peter and Tex for his actions. There were also definitely times that Tex and Carver pushed Peter past his comfort zone, but I always felt that Tex and Carver would have respected Peter if he had safe worded.

In typical DJ Heart fashion, the steam level was off the charts with this trio. My lord, the leather and bondage was everywhere. There were certain things that made me cringe, hello sandpaper gloves, but other things had me fanning my face and taking a deep breath, hi there oral knotting. DJ Heart does hotness really, really well.

The book does wrap up rather quickly with some unexpected drama surrounding Peter’s family. I am a big fan of the MC being put in danger and I love an author who isn’t afraid to hurt of their MCs in the process. Maybe that’s my inner sadist talking. J I feel like there could have been a little more explanation with Carver’s mother and her position in their life, but it didn’t detract from the overall story for me. I would love to see another book with this threesome, sort of like Omega and Evan’s Alpha, those books, also by DJ, were pretty great.

This was a great story of Tex, Carver and Peter all finding their place with one another and making it work. DJ Heart is an automatic download for me. Just the right amount of story, drama and sexy.

Starting Over: Two Werewolves for Peter is an omegaverse book with a human omega two werewolf alphas. There’s no mpreg in this book, but there are plenty of delicious BDSM scenes featuring a wide-range of kinks. I love this book and it has become one of my instant favorites.

Betrayed by his family, Peter, a human omega, is left facing a difficult choice between two chilling futures. He can either do ten years in prison, drugged up and suffering, or he can take his chances and allow himself to be matched to a single alpha looking for an omega mate. Both options seem unthinkable, but Peter will do anything to avoid the grueling drugs omegas have to take in prison to suppress their heats. Better to take a chance at happiness than to be guaranteed none at all in prison. Tex, an alpha werewolf, knows that his husband, Carver, another alpha werewolf, can’t survive long without an omega mate to help him through his ruts. Unfortunately, the fact that Tex and Carver are took kinky for most omegas has made it difficult for them to find an omega mate through the traditional dating methods. Faced with the choice of watching his husband suffer during his intense ruts, Tex makes the hard choice to sign up for the Delinquent Omega Matching Program, a matchmaking service that allows an alpha to pay for a desperate omega. What starts off as a desperate business move on Peter and Tex’s part, ends up as a loving and beautiful relationship between all three men.

I adore this story. Tex and Carver were everything you would expect alpha werewolves to be like: strong, dominant, possessive, and sexy, but they were also romantic and put Peter’s welfare, both physical and emotional, first. Peter, for his part, bloomed under the attention and love from Tex and Carver and was able to find his place in an unforgiving world. In true D.J. Heart fashion, there were a lot of kinky sex scenes that featured all types of kinks and fetishes. I loved every single one of these sex scenes. They were well written, intense, and unique. Not only where they hot and steamy, but D.J. Heart also incorporated so much romance and feelings into the scenes. There were many different scenes of all three of the men taking care of each other and loving on each other. It was wonderful.

Overall, I highly recommend this book and I know I will be re-reading it multiple times in the future.

This book is about a young human Omega who mate's with a married werewolf couple .

What did I think of this book NOT MUCH this is suppose to be a DARK romance between a human Omega and a married Werewolf couple /BDSM FREAKS . We have our innocent human Omega Peter 😇 put in jail for a crime that he did not commit 😢 but the evidence is against him he has no way to prove his innocence 😰. Peter is given a TEN YEAR SENTENCE 😰 the only way for Peter to survive is to apply to the delinquent Omega program 😐. THIS program matches a Omega with and Alpha in Peter's case a married couple werewolf couple heavily in to BDSM 😈 .Next where introduced to our married couple Carver/lawyer 😈 and his husband Tex yeah I said it Tex the cop 😈. But wait there is a reason why Tex applied to this program it seems that Carved is in trouble😫 his Rut/mating cycles are getting out of hand and it's becoming dangerous for his health . So Tex decides to buy his beloved husband an Omega who has little to no right this way Carver can rut all he wants and get his need to hurt his Omega at the same time make sense RIGHT 😌right . But wait Tex will be there to make sure that Carved doesn't go to far although it really doesn't work out like that 😏. And so our Omega/ Peter who doesn't have a choice anymore seeing as he's signed his life away 😵 and our werewolf couple decide to become a family😒 . It doesn't take long before the Alphas introduces our Omega to the wonderful world of KINK SEX and guess what our innocent Omega 😇 really Really REALLY excels in it like DANG boy 😍 . After that we have some family drama and lots and lots and LOTS of DISTURBING suppose to be 🔥sex scenes that I WILL NOT go into details like the time they put Peter in some weird leather harness strapped him on their backs while the went for a motorcycle ride 😖 .
