After the world conspired to separate Cavo and Liam before there burgeoning romance could really begin, the two are left to wander the world separately, desperately hoping for a reunion. But when Liam is feeling lonely without Cavo's touch, will he stay true the sweet, innocent Cavo or find solace in another man...?!
Volume 3 and I'm in love with this story, now. I have definitely warmed up to Liam because we learn more about who he is, and because of how he is with Cavo. Their relationship has deepened over the course of three volumes and has reached a new level in this one. Cavo is such a sweetheart and I hope Liam will treasure him forever. Cavo is still very shy and insecure about who he is but when it comes to his feelings for Liam he is very confident and I like that. When it comes to their physical relationship it's great to see their characters shine though here, too which makes the story feel very consistent. Cavo was sweet (like always) and very concerned for Liam's safety because of his own strength and size, and Liam was very confident in Cavo and helped him through it. It was awesome to see the honest concern Their relationship feels very tender and honest. Although there still is the aspect of Liam needing/using Cavo because Cavo can keep him safe (Cavo knows this and wants to keep Liam safe, too), there's more to it than that now. While Liam was always physically attracted to Cavo, now his heart is in it, too.
I do enjoy Liam's and Cavo's relationship immensely and the story overall is also very intriguing, that's why I can't wait for volume 4.
(c/p from my review on TheStoryGraph) Oh I'm so so deep into this now. I need Vol 4 like yesterday. I'm so into the romance, I'm so into the story, I need to know WTF actually is happening and I need some uh.... Well ok I'll just say it: I Like the Spice! Leave me alone, I'm tired and gay and sometimes I just want some spicy gay human/romance things.... Let a queer live please.
TW for this book include: Sexual content, Bullying, Mild Violence.
I love that we finally got some detail on why men are trying to catch Liam, and a little of what he might have done in the past. Although I’m sure there’s more to his side of the story just because of a flashback dream. But I really do like Sir Patricius and Roland as well. Them as side characters is pretty great.
I'm sold. Liam & Cavo are absolutely stinkin' adorable in this one!! We get a little more of Liam's backstory, a little more affection, and a lot more spice.
For such a simple and short story, there is so much complexity to these characters, their backgrounds, and the way they interact with one another. It's so sweet that Cavo just wears his heart on his sleeve and while you have to take a bit of a deeper look at Liam, you can absolutely see how fond he is of Cavo in turn.
I’m still not super fond of Liam. He’s kind of a jerk, but Cavo is the sweetest boy (albeit he’s a monster). There is a scene that sticks with me where Cavo is saying how ugly he must be and Liam says “Yes. You are.” I mean there was more, but he SHOULD have said he’s beautiful to him. 😭😭😭 How can this be romance?? I still love it.
The plot thickens. I’m enjoying the supernatural elements, the more genuine connection between Cavo and Liam, and the arrival of (the sadly censored) smut. Not as into this volume as the one before, but fine enough.
A little bit more about Liam in this one and why he is considered a monster. He and Cavo are separated at the start but each show how their bond has grown. It gets a bit steamy (finally!) but the look into Liam's past has me super curious
Wow!! Totally love this manga! The mystery deepens! So many questions about Liams past! I’m so looking forward to uncovering the truth. I really have enjoyed how Cavo and Liams relationship has grown. They share similar characteristics and I’m glad they found each other! Cavo is adorable but fierce when it comes to protecting Liam. Liam who has always been alone now appreciates his companionship. I love that he sees Cavo for the beautiful beast he is. He slowly is giving him confidence! Can’t wait for the next volume!
Cavo and Liam get separated! Liam is busy having sex with strangers to take his mind off things. Cavo discovers that he can only jump into Liam’s body. When they finally reunite on a new land, Cavo kisses Liam in joy.
This book is more steamy than the last ones. We get a poetic scene of Cavo licking Liam to completion (?) and returning his stick thing. Cavo gets self conscious about the night and how he looks. Liam says nah don’t be and starts giving him a BJ in the woods. Liam acknowledges that he can’t fit Cavo’s massive shlong but Cavo says he can make it smaller so everything is daijoubu.
Cavo starts to lick Liam more and ohhhh they have sexy times! Only took 3 books but I’m here for the build up. They both come and Liam passes out and remembers his past as a slave/orphan/escapee but tells Cavo he appreciates being with him and not controlling him.
Roland, Patricius, and King Noah are introduced and that they are in Etvenia. There was a war with Dahrakia that apparently Liam helped with. The knights go out to research an event where the old king died. They are hot on their trail!
There's also bonus comics about tickling and staying in.

Part of this wasn't as good as the other volumes, but the good parts were very good, so this is more of a 4.5 than a 5 star review, but overall I'm really enjoying this series.
I find the two following knights interesting as a couple but the story involving them isn't all that interesting, and it'd probably be more entertaining if it was Liam and Cavo exploring it instead. That being said, !
If you're looking for m/m kind of Beauty and the Beast if the beauty was a middle-aged bisexual lech and the beast was a giant nervous softie, plus some dubcon (and size difference and xeno, obviously) this is good for you!
This volume of Monster and the Beast definitely improved upon the aspects of volume 2 that I felt were a little "weak" (e.g. relationship felt one sided, not enough depth into Liam's history). In fact, I liked this volume most of all out of the three currently released volumes! Not only do we get to see more about Liam's history, but we also see Liam display more of a romantic interest in Cavo. Yes, there are some steamy scenes in this volume, but it contributed to the story and wasn't just fanservice. An overall interesting volume that provides us with more insight about Liam's past and why he's a "monster" in his own way.

Hah, we finally get some smexy time, and then its glowy cencored, whyyyy UGHHH. I'm so sad about that, bcs rly, with that big monster, i wanted to see a bit more than just the glowy thingie :/ Otherwise, i love it.
It's great to see how Liam is starting to change because of Cavo, how he actually waits for him, even tho Liam doesn't want to bind himself to anyone. It's very cute, also the pacing is great with this. Also some more plot and backstory about Liam and the two soldiers of the empire (which i totally forgot about, because I had quite a big pause between Vol 2 and 3), but i love Liam and his view on life and Cavo is just such a sweet bebi.
What a great manga. I'm sorry to have skipped over the 2nd installment, but I couldn't find it anywhere!! In this one, we are thrust into a dilemma; Cavo has been left behind. Liam is off on the ship, wondering why he's worried, anxious when he's used to traveling along. That's love for ya. And here we finally find out Liam's backstory. Very intriguing. The art style and the storyline are both great. This weird little odd couple is so adorable and shows how love can grow. No matter what, I'm getting Vol. 2, even if I already know the outcome so far.
I liked this volume the most of the first three. We finally get some backstory for Liam and I am interested to see how it goes!
Also, it should be mentioned that this is the first in the series to have an explicit content warning, and though it's fairly tame (especially considering what I've read!), it is there for a reason.
This so left on a bit of a cliffhanger, so I'm excited to see what happens next and if we get any backstory on Cavo.
It's been so long since I've picked up the first two in the series, but I was able to fall back into the story pretty easily. I wasn't expecting this whole plot to build up though. Like Liam clearly had something going on, but this looks like something deeper. I have a feeling it's going to end with the next volume and wrap up too quickly, but I'm interested in seeing where the story's going to go.
Is it two different people or the same person? Why doesn’t Liam age? And what exactly are his superpowers? I hate that Cavo loves Leah more than Liam. Loves Cavo. Like he immediate thought was oh I can finally go sleep with somebody that just did not sit right with me and I feel like Cavo deserves better than that. His story is so intriguing and I’m very interested to see how it wraps up in this last volume.

Yayyy they found themselves and ouuu not Cavo getting freaky with Liam 🤭 love to see it but now the problem is Sir Patricius and Roland , I’m so confused now because if there was a kid in the institute and then Virgiliam was around the age thirty when he attacked how old is he now ? I don’t think Liam is human which would explain why Cavo can enter his shadow and nothing happens to him but with other humans they feel heavy .So many questions ??!!! Hopefully they get answered
