Like the other Chase women, Mary may be small in stature, but her will to live life her way is a force to be reckoned with. When an opportunity to become a governess to the Earl of Sinclair’s daughter was presented, the only person she needed to convince was the Earl, himself. Could be Mary did a better job than she ever could have imagined, now to convince him to act on his feelings…

Tammy Andresen’s EARL OF SIN is another quick read, as expected and contains sass, spice and a darling child, but it just didn’t feel the same as the rest of the series to me. There wasn’t that sense of urgency or turmoil. It IS a wonderful romance and definitely a pleasant way to spend an hour or two without getting all tied up in knots.

I received a complimentary ARC edition from Tammy Andresen! This is my honest and voluntary review.

Alla piccola Anne Mary era piaciuta subito. E viceversa.

Volete sapere come?
Non vi resta che leggere il romanzo in pubblicazione oggi e scoprirlo.

Cole Sinclair,( Sin for short).
This man has such charisma, it’s leaking from every page of this book.
It shows in his dealings with his new tutor ,for his daughter, Mary Chase, and it fairly oozes in every conversation they have.
Their relationship is filled with hidden passion, and pain from past relationships.

What they need is to heal and Mary is an Angel in disguise.
She a beautiful character and it was a pleasure to read her.
She is constantly loving everyone, she made me feel happy and loved.
I’m not surprised Sin fell for her.

The two were a match made in heaven, a perfect joining of two souls who desperately needed each other.
This was a beautiful book and a wonderful ending to the series.

I received an Arc copy of this book and chose to post this review

A fun and fast regency romp

This was a very cute story about a woman who lost her first love and thought herself firmly on the shelf, accepting her status as a spinster. And a man who also had loved and lost his first wife and thought he could never love again.

There wasn’t a lot of angst in this story as it was short, and it loved rather rapidly from meet to married, but it was sweet and it had a decent steamy scene. My one complaint was that the author slipped up on several places and described the heroine with brown hair when she’s described in the beginning as having blond hair and also looking like the hero’s first wife, who also had blond hair. It’s a minor quibble, but it’s one of those small irritating things that could’ve been fixed with an editor.

Hero’s past is mentioned. He was a widower and had loved his first wife. Heroine was a virgin but had had a fiancé and had loved him. Besides dead wives and fiancé’s, no living om/ow drama. No cheating or abuse of any kind. HEA with epilogue.

Having met Cole, nicknamed Sin, in previous books in this series, I felt sad for him as he managed to disappoint his friends whilst acting under duress. When his friends and their wives discover that he badly needs a tutor for his sweet daughter, they immediately suggest that he employs the last of Chase cousins, Mary, who has been a stalwart friend and source of comfort to her cousins. Meeting Mary puts Cole on the defensive as she is everything he does not want and cannot have in his home, reminding him far too much of his deceased wife. However, Anne's reaction to Mary is so instantaneous, that Cole decides to give her a trial period. It doesn't take long before both Cole and Mary come to the conclusion that they can help one another whilst solving their own dilemmas, but he does not take the rest of the Lords or their wives into account. Cole quickly comes to the realisation that Mary is loved by a large circle of people who will do anything for her, making Cole understand that he will have to give Mary everything she needs. This novel wraps the series up nicely and leaves one feeling happy for the Lords of Scandal, that each of them got the gift of love and marriage. The plot is well written, and although not as suspenseful as the previous stories, it did keep me entertained and interested through to the conclusion. I received a copy of this book as a gift and this is my honest and voluntary review.

Who doesn’t love a damaged Earl? Earl of Sin by Tammy Andresen is book 6 in the Lords of Scandal series and I am just loving this series. This is one of those books that the heroine is the true hero in the story. Mary’s tragic pass is what makes her so strong. Tammy’s characters are as wonderful as always and this father daughter story is truly heart warming. I always feel so good after reading one of her books. This story has death, fear, an over protective father, kindness, strength, an almost drowning, a child’s nightmares and love at first sight. I highly recommend this book.

The Cole, Earl of Sinclair vowed never to marry again after losing his wife in childbirth. His daughter Anne is suffering after being kidnapped so on the advice of his friend Daring he agrees to hire Mary Chase.Another well written novella which rounds the series off to perfection, the characters have depth & are lovely. I loved both Sin & Mary, the story flowed well & had me engrossed for a couple of hours. A lovely novella of learning to love again & letting go of the past.

Cole (Sin) and Mary. He is a widower with a daughter. His daughter was kidnapped earlier in the series and has had difficulty coping. He was looking for someone that could tutor his daughter on what she needed to be a member of society and also somehow make her at ease.

Mary was previously engaged but her fiancée went off to war to make something of himself and died while at war. Her parents and brother had died years before and she was living with her aunt and uncle. They loved her like one of their own and gave her a season to find a husband. She wasn’t successful that one season so she decided to put herself on the shelf (at 24). Not wanting to be a burden to her aunt and uncle she decided to find a job and support herself. Dating connected her with Sin.

From the moment they met there were sparks between them. He knew it would be a problem (him controlling his lust) and almost didn’t hire her for the job. After introducing Mary to his daughter Anne he saw that his daughter instantly connected with her. So he gave her a 2 week trial period.

Day 1. She moves into her room, they set up a picnic and invite Sun to join them, do some painting, and he kisses her. That evening Anne has a nightmare and Mary goes and comforts her. Sin checks in on Mary (he heard her interact with his daughter and didn’t want to intrude). Mary suggests they get married. A marriage of Convenience. She would give him the male heir and help his daughter and she would get to marry and not be a burden.

Day 2. After a shit night of no sleeping (couldn’t turn off their brains) Sin decides to accept her proposal and sets up requirements. Mainly that they would only have 1 child (his previous wife died giving birth to their 2nd child). She said OK.

They go to her uncles and get his blessing. She’s chatting with the other Chase ladies and admits that she’s in love with him. After 1 day. Seems realistic.

He hiding in his office and Mary comes to talk to him. She tells him that she wanted to understand what all the fuss was about (she wants to have sex with him). On his office floor he fingers her to climax. Guess that wasn’t enough because she tells him that she wants him and we all know he wants her. This is grand, she’s still on the floor and he doesn’t take any of her clothing off. He literally opens the slip in her underwear and inserts peen. Takes her maidenhead there on the floor. So hot! Oh and he tells her that he hasn’t been with anyone since his previous wife so he wasn’t going to last long. He didn’t. He O’ed and collapsed on her (she couldn’t breathe).

Moving on…2 years later she gives birth to a son. Birth went well and he’s abandoned the 1 kid only thing. He didn’t ever want to leave her bed. My question is if he lasted longer after that first hit it. I don’t think he does.

This was a quick fun read and I still really enjoyed it. I enjoy the roast better though.

This was an OK addition to the Lords of Scandal series, but it didn't have enough character development for me. I wanted more backstory on both Cole and Mary. It gets 2.5 stars from me, rounded up to 3 stars.

Cole and Mary were both likable, but their instalove was totally unbelievable. I get that they were instantly attracted to each other, but to be in love after only one day? I just didn't buy it. They had both suffered great loss, so they understood each other's pain. That explained some of their instant connection, but it still wasn't enough to convince me that they would fall in love so quickly.

I also thought it was unrealistic that Cole would get past his intense grief so quickly after meeting Mary. He had grieved his wife for years, and blamed himself for her death, so I didn't buy his sudden recovery.

There were also some major editing errors in this story. Here are a few of them:
* It was mentioned in an earlier book that Mary and Cole met and were "grinning" at each other -- but in this story, they had never met.
* Mary's hair color changed several times in the story. It was blonde, then brown, then blonde again.
* Mary told Cole that she lost her brother, parents, and fiancee early in the story. Then she mentioned her brother later, and he acted surprised that she had siblings.

My rating system is below.
1 star -- Hated it, or did not finish. I usually only give this rating if some of the content is truly objectionable to me, like if one of the main characters does something really awful, and gets away with it.
2 stars -- Didn't like it. This rating usually means that I thought the writing wasn't very good, the editing was terrible, I didn't like the characters, or it had other major flaws.
3 stars -- I liked it, but had some minor issues with it. This rating means that there were minor editing issues, the story needed more character development, it was just too unrealistic, or had some other fairly minor issue. The majority of books I read get this rating – I do not consider it a bad rating.
4 stars -- I liked it a lot. This is a high rating for me, and I rarely give a higher one.
5 stars -- I loved it, and will probably read it again. Very few books are good enough to get this rating from me. The ones that do are usually classics.

Smaller than the rest but just as mighty!

This tale was my first introduction to the Lords of Scandal series as part of the boxset: Lords, Ladies and Babies, and left me wanting more. I just knew by my instant absorption and connection to this pair that the keen intrigue I had, in the abundance of personalities that surrounded them too, would have me hunting out the remaining series as well. They all had the potential to lure me into sleepness nights of laughing and crying right alongside each twist and turn as each rogue so delightfully fell. And I haven't been disappointed!
Upon second reading and now after having read the books that came first, in sequence, I was just as entralled if not more so. An extra energy radiated in the air with my having known the subcharacters, fallen under their spell and appreciated what they had to cope with together to get to this point. An indulgence I highly recommend as the deep connection between this captivating group of intrepid ladies and roguish lords, who secretly struggle with their own insecurities not to mention one troublesome scheming madwoman, became all the more potent when all the facts, insights and a full grasp of all the torment and perilous ridden issues, that came before this moment, could be appreciated as a whole. Making this, Mary, Cole and Anne's tale, all the more heartwarming and such a fabulous way to round it all off.
Mary and Cole's tale emits the perfect balance of quiet sexual attraction and touching musings with an endearingly comforting and engaging plot line. Where hope thought once lost - as vulnerabilities, past tragedies and integrity intensifies their building attraction - begins to bloom once more.
Touchingly sweet and full of heart and heat that progresses and fuels the story as it strengthens their bond and flourishes into so much more. With the addition of Anne (Cole's daughter), who is just so adorable and adds so much depth, warmth and delicious banter to the pair's interactions, makes this tale a heartmelting way to round off the original Lords of Scandal series. Onto the next chapter with as much anticipation and relish as the last! Fingers crossed it will be just as captivatingly easy to fall for all those involved leading foward!!

Earl of Sin, Book 6 of the Lords of Scandal, was about Lord Colbert "Cole" "Sin" Sinclair, the Earl of Sinclair and Miss Mary Chase, spinster niece of Lord and Lady Winthrop and former companion to several of her cousins.
Sinclair was a widower with a young daughter and he was in desperate need of someone to tutor her in the ways of a society lady, as well as helping her overcome the nightmares that had begun after she had been kidnapped (in Book 3 of the series). Mary, no longer needed as a companion to her cousins since they were all now married, and not wanting to be a further burden on her aunt and uncle, had been recommended for the position by the Duke of Darlington.
Sinclair made his first appearance in Earl of Exile, Book 3, of this series. I have to admit, I did not care for him in that book, no matter what his reasons were for what he did. His character in that book was a weak, lily-livered, lackluster man without a backbone.
As attracted as Sinclair was to Mary, he was determined she was wrong for him because he believed she was too delicate and that she would never survive having a baby because of her size. She reminded him too much of his late wife.
After just one day working with Anne, things had been going well...except Sin could not stop thinking about her. He had even kissed her, involuntarily, in the garden. After Mary responded to Anne's cries in the night, Sin checked on both of them. Mary and Sin both realized that the attraction between them was too strong to dismiss and, after some impromptu thoughts and feelings, they determined they should get married.
While there was attraction and passion in this story, there wasn't much drama or angst, but there was some fear of the unknown. This story was a good deal shorter than the others so far in the series which could be the reason for less drama and angst. The villain had long been dealt with by the time this story was created, therefore there was no intrigue or cause for alarm. It was just a nice, calm romance novel.
Since it was less appealing than any other book so far, Earl of Sin did not merit a 5-star rating or being added to the Keeper for the Shelves collection.

Although this is a quick read, it is complete and emotionally satisfying. It ticked off all the boxes for an unusual marriage of convenience proposal and met the needs of the two main characters Cole and Mary. I liked Mary's personality. She was forthright, honest, down-to-earth and incredibly compassionate and loving. Cole is a good man getting back on his feet after losing his wife during childbirth leaving him with a daughter. He was also becoming more financially stable after the mess his father left. Then his daughter Anne suffered nightmares from a horrible incident that happened to her. I was glad Mary could see the possibilities of improvement with this small family. She had a gift of being able to help others when no one else could as effectively. At first Cole fought his attraction to Mary but I was glad in the end he let himself become vulnerable and love again. A very sweet story of heartache, pain, loss and the triumph of love in the end. The author Tammy Andresen was kind enough to give us a peek into the future of this couple. I really enjoyed reading this.

I received an Advanced Readers Copy of this book from the author and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Book six in the Lords of Scandal series and for me, the weakest (and shortest) of the series so far. This is Sin’s and Mary’s story. Sin is still grieving the loss of his wife and worrying about the upbringing of his daughter Anne. Then Mary comes along as firstly a tutor for Anne but ends up becoming much more to the both of them. The story was so short that I felt there was hardly any time for feelings to develop properly between Sin & Mary and eveything all felt rather rushed. What was the cause of Anne’s nightmares? We never found out. Minor irritations were that there were also a lot of typos/words missing in the book and we do not say ‘fall’ in the UK when describing Autumn either (a real bugbear of mine when American authors write novels set here). Other than that a pleasant read but I’ve read far better.

Mary, who lost her own family and fiancé in the past, decides to interview to be a tutor for Cole, the Earl of Sinclair who lost his wife in childbirth a few years ago, and feels he is failing his own daughter, Anne. Anne had been kidnapped by Abernathy and Mary may be just what Anne needs, but is she also able to heal the heart of the Earl, and at the same time, her very own?

I’ve read the other books in this series, and the characters from the past books are returning, which is one of my favorite things in series. This is a fast read and a fast romance. There is no fat in this book, and it hums along quickly and this is one of those books that I wish was a bit longer. But with the series continuing on, it reads like one longer story. Great addition to this series.

I enjoyed this series

I loved the whole series and I’ve been waiting for Cole and Mary’s story to wrap it up. Mary is firmly on the shelf, and she’s okay with that. She takes a job as tutor to Cole’s daughter Anne. Cole lost his wife during the birth of his son, who also died. Mary helps Anne get over fears and for Cole to realize he is clinging too tightly.
The only problem I have with several of this author’s books is that she dedicates too much space to advertising other books. Her books aren’t long to begin with, and then it ends at 89% and the rest is for previews of other books. If you don’t care about that then you should like this.

Love it

It was so hard to put down. Page turner. I enjoy reading Mary and Sin's story. She decides it's time to move forwards with her life and take employment to help wittlh Sin's daughter, Anne. Sin is wanting to help his daughter move forwards after her kidnapping and he's looking for a wife to be a mother to Anne.
They both have a lot of healing to do. They find it together.

Mary chase has a special place in my heart in this series. She was so deserving of her happy ending. This book felt more unique from the rest of the series so far but it was a really good branch out. I love this set of characters once again Tammy Anderson had more than delivered in keeping true to telling the entire story of this family. seriously though someone tell her to publish a family tree in the front of these books 😂

A wonderful wrap up

Tammy Andersen fas wrapped up this series with the tale of Sin, Mary and Anne. All the Chase women and their Lords of Scandal are present, happy and in love! Mary and Sin heal each other and find love. Anne has a new mother! Delightful story! I can’t wait for the next series.

A wonderful end to the Chase family 's story's

This is a great end to the Chase family's story's. The plot as usual is brilliantly crafted, and the characters are beautifully portrayed. I am very excited that the series is to be continued. This book would suit anybody who loves steamy historical romances.

So sad to see the end of this amazing, interesting, intriguing, and delightful series. I have thoroughly enjoyed the way the author has managed to get these gentlemen into mischief and mayhem, gotten them some strong minded women who are daring and just as mischievous.

This was more or less a novella. The last of the Chase women. It was perfect. After reading the first 5, 6 or 7, this one was refreshing.. no angst, no repetitive- does he/she love me.? Am I good enough? Bad enough? Pretty enough? Enough enough? Just two people finding each other and healing together.

She just wanted to earn her own way, not be a burden on any one, after all, she was the one who gave up her chance to find a husband and have a family.
He had already lost enough, now he needed to take care of his daughter, and with that he needed help. Although he is unaware that he needs help himself.

Mary Chase decided to support herself and she applied as a tutor to the Earl of Sinclair's daughter. Right away she was taken with her. The child had been kidnapped and she really needed Mary's help. The Earl did also and Mary who planned to live the life of a spinster can change her mind, can't she. It is another story of the Lords of Scandal.

Least popular..but still good

This was the least popular book for me.
I didn’t have all the elements the other books in the series had.
The change of heart and mind was way to quick.
There was no real suspense or danger.
However it was still a good conclusion tor the series

I had a hard time with this one. The heroine went from having blond hair to brown…The timeline jumped over when the H’e first wife died and how long the h lived with her aunt and uncle. I can’t enjoy books when the details are inconsistent.
