Support your cancer healing journey with a daily devotional of inspirational quotes, stories, scripture, and encouragement, now in paperback, from the author of Chris Beat Cancer.
A healing mindset takes fortitude, faith, and courage -- and acceptance of support when you need it most. As a survivor of cancer for more than 15 years, Chris Wark, best-selling author of Chris Beat Cancer and Beat Cancer Kitchen , knows the daily struggles involved in healing from cancer and wants to support you as you walk this path with God. This daily devotional offers nuggets of scripture, inspiration, encouragement, and actions for surviving life's difficult storms. No matter the challenges you face, your soul is naturally resilient and has the ability to prosper—mentally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
This book is a timely breath of fresh air, an encouragement. It is well organized as a daily devotion, but I was so excited about the content that I read straight through the whole book.
Praise God for inspiring this popular speaker to share strength and hope in the Lord as the nation suffers from disease and despair.
Here is a taste: "Before cancer, I was chasing happiness and I took much of my life for granted. Then cancer gave me a hard reset. And during my healing season, I found so much joy in the things I had never fully appreciated - fruits and vegetable, nature, fresh air, sunshine, mobility, freedom, family, and a relationship with my Heavenly Father ... you have everything you need for life and godliness (2 Peter 1:3)."
I read this to find out if it was something I would want to gift to others dealing with cancer. In short, no. While there were plenty of days with valuable insights, it was mixed with a lot of New Thought teachings. (See Melissa Dougherty's book, Happy Lies.) I didn't even realize until the end that it came from the publishing house of Louise Hay - a prominent New Thoughter. Biblical Christianity, this is not.
Practical advice and encouragement for anyone going through cancer, or a health battle in general. I’ve read one a day for the last year and plan to read through it again.
This devotional is likely written to be read as an entry each day, but since all of the daily entries are short, I decided to read ahead. Many days I found these treasures exactly what my heart needed. Anyone -whether going through cancer or any challenge - will find this book encouraging and uplifting.
I read this book as part of my cancer journey and it is wonderfully affirming for anyone on this journey. I can’t recommend this book enough for those on the journey and for your caregivers. My husband and I read this together every night before going to sleep. It gave us both peace in very turbulent times.
The word "cancer" is probably the most dreaded word anyone could hear from a doctor. For many, the word itself can set a chain reaction in your body that can play a major role for the patient's well-being and longevity. The medical industry has shunned and downplayed the role that major lifestyle and mindset changes can achieve in preventing and even curing cancer, while mostly promoting toxic and ineffective options. The ineffectiveness of the pharmaceutical approach to cancer is also well-documented in the scientific literature, but continues to be pushed on frightened patients regardless.
It's vitally important for people to know that your nervous and immune systems are, in fact, a cancer fighting machine, as long as you are willing to make the right choices. The author of this book has interviewed over 60 patients so far, who have naturally healed themselves of even stage 3 and 4 cancers. He has also interviewed many health care providers that have been able to guide thousands of their patients to do the same. This book encapsulates much of what he's learned since 2003, when he was first diagnosed with cancer. The information in this book and his website could save someone's life and prevent long-term heartache for their family members and generations to follow.
Of the 365 tips, many are just life in general tips that have been heard before. They could apply as much to parenting or sports than cancer or any other challenge. Quite a few are religious, so if you are religious you have already heard them and if your aren’t religious you might ignore them. However, some tips are very good and will resonate with the reader, and if even just a few are meaningful or help relieve stress, anxiety or whatever you are facing then it is probably worth a read.
As a cancer survivor, this book offers some practical health tips if you are "going through" cancer treatment or trying to avoid the whole danged thing to begin with. It is psychological and maybe a bit religious, but also offers bits, like doing the so-called "simple fast" (eating during the day during an 11 hour window, to give your liver and intestinal tract time to rest and recoup). Yes, your system "does" need time to rest, especially as you pass middle age (like 45+).
This is the best daily journal I have ever read. Seriously. It doesn't matter if you have cancer or not. You can substitute it for whatever you are struggling with. I bought it to keep positive thoughts in my mind as I overcome anxiety. It has quotes, scriptures and thoughts about having strength, faith and courage to face your own challenge.
Good self-help book for those of us with a touch of cancer. Had too much of his faith and Christianity in it that I wasn't expecting. That was my only issue with it.
Even though I’m healthy, I found this boom very encouraging, and enlightening. It give you enough inspiration for your healing and spirituality journey
This booked helped me face the possibility of thyroid cancer. It’s full of daily help with scripture, prayer, and diet. I recommend for anyone! I’m happy to report I’m cancer free!
