Kandi Steiner is a USA Today and #1 Amazon Bestselling Author living in Tennessee. Best known for writing “emotional rollercoaster” stories, she loves bringing flawed characters to life and writing about real, raw romance — in all its forms. No two Kandi Steiner books are the same, and if you’re a lover of angsty, emotional, and inspirational reads, she’s your gal.

An alumna of the University of Central Florida, Kandi graduated with a double major in Creative Writing and Advertising/PR with a minor in Women’s Studies. Her love for writing started at the ripe age of 10, and in 6th grade, she wrote and edited her own newspaper and distributed to her classmates. Eventually, the principal caught on and the newspaper was quickly halted, though Kandi tried fighting for her “freedom of press.”

She took particular interest in writing romance after college, as she has always been a hopeless romantic and found herself bursting at the seams with love stories she was eager to tell.

When Kandi isn’t writing, you can find her reading books of all kinds, planning her next adventure, or pole dancing (yes, you read that right). She enjoys live music, traveling, hiking, yoga, spending quality time with her family (fur babies included) and soaking up the sweetness of life.

Teardrop Shot by Tijan

I'm so stunned by this author and her way of creating words and stories that are real, feelings from the most heartbreaking ones to the happiest you could ever feel, the characters are real, with a lot of baggage and complex even if for some people the age is a hard pass but wake up people, we don't leave in a word of sheltered anymore, young adults are having more troubles and problems than the settled adults with jobs and families.

There's always a story to be told for everyone and for me it's this author, i just love Tijan and her books, her writing, her way of making everything real and unhinged and all the emotions that one is looking in a great book.

This collection is a set of carefully selected titles for all the lovers of angsty and emotional reads that will give you all the feels! Definitely top shelf, these books are some of the best stories I've ever read!

A Love Letter to Whiskey by Kandi Steiner

„Even if you must move on, please don’t ever let us go.”

This book... I have no words. Stories like this one are the reason why I read angsty romances. There is no sugarcoating in them, every emotion is raw and real. A Love Letter To Whiskey is a book that both makes your heart beat faster and makes it bleed. Some love stories are not a bed of roses, and B and Jamie's story is one of those that will wreck you first and put you back together at the very end. It’s a heartbreakingly beautiful experience.

Jamie is an almost perfect hero. He's down-to-earth, attentive, caring, smart and funny. He cares about his loved ones and has great goals in life. His love is deep and unconditional, and his character made me swoon over and over again.

Now, B was a harder nut to crack. Her story is shocking and heartbreaking, so it's no wonder she has a whole list of issues. Yes, she's flawed and scared, but she's also selfless and loving. I’m in awe of the progress she made throughout the story.

These two are a combination of tension, love and drama. Their feelings are undeniable, but there was always something or someone standing in their way to complete happiness. I loved the friendship they shared, their chemistry and sexual tension kept me at the edge of the seat, and their love made me alternately cry and swoon. B and Jamie had plenty of obstacles to face over the years, time being the greatest of them, yet a feeling like theirs would not go away. And I think this knowledge was the reason that got me through the enormity of suffering Kandi Steiner served me.

A Love Letter To Whiskey is a book that will put your heart through the emotional grinder. Sometimes it hurt to read this story, but it was the most delicious ache to experience and I am angry with myself that it took me so long to reach for this book. It's beautifully written, filled with raw emotions and I loved every second of this unputdownable and extraordinary story. A must read for all angst-lovers!

Teardrop Shot by Tijan

"If you let people in, they can hurt you."

Okaaaay… So it’s nothing new that I love Tijan’s books. I’ve read almost all of them and there wasn’t a title I didn’t like. But Teardrop Shot? This book is something else. I didn’t expect in the slightest the impact of this story. I wasn’t aware of the emotional depth it carries. This book has so many layers and it’s so intense that it left me in a major book hungover. As a big Tijan’s fan I’m always pretty sure that I’ll like her new book and that I don’t need to brace myself. But oh boy… I really should prepare myself mentally for this one…

Dumped and fired from her last job, Charlie is trying now to get a grip and rebuild her life. She joins her old Camp, where she was working years ago. But she doesn’t know yet, that said camp is booked for the next 3 weeks by Seattle Thunder- a basketball team, where the captain is no one else than Reese Forster- famous player and her biggest idol. And despite that their first encounter was a little bit awkward, they formed a friendship that with time evolved into so much more. But it was possible only thanks to seeing beyond the facade, being understanding and thoughful. Because something that started as casual and was supposed to protect them from heartbreak, turned out to be their another shot at happiness.

It's really hard to put into words how this story evolved from funny fangirl crush to deeply emotional and heartbreaking tale. It was just a matter of moments- in one minute I was reading something that resembled a rom-com, and in the next one I was a sobbing mess. But that’s the effect of the facade that our heroes put on. Both Charlie and Reese are coping with their pasts in their own way. He releases his emotions on the court. She’s hiding behind jokes and being quirky. They’re both so much more than what meets the eye and they have some serious issues, but they’re also the perfect match to help each other heal.

Teardrop Shot will make you laugh, swoon and cry. It’ll rip your heart out, but it will also give you solace. Tijan created layered story that gives all the feels and it’s totally unforgettable. And I’m bold enough to say that it’s her best work yet. Highly recommend!

Love In Lingerie by Alessandra Torre

„If our relantionship was lingerie, it’d be fur-lined handcuffs, latched around you, the key lost, escape impossible.”

Alessandra Torre has such a sensual writing style that her every word is like a lover's carress. Her stories are full of sex appeal and passion while being extremely classy. Love in Lingerie is filled with delicious tension and sexual hunger. Page by page the appetite grows, and you as a reader are looking forward to the feast.

Trey is the type of a man you’re instantly infatuated with. My gosh, this guy is so intense and seductive… I just loved that he could be this smart, caring and funny friend and later the most attentive and passionate lover. His confidence and the way he carries himself are incredibly sexy. He can also be vulnerable and scared, but these traits only enriched his personality in my eyes.

Kate is the most driven character I’ve met recently. Her dedication to her work is truly admirable. She’s smart and creative. I loved that she was down-to-earth and humble, while creating the sexiest pieces of lingerie. And although we can tell that she’s a risk taker in her professional life, when it comes to love and relantionships she’s more reserved.

These two had an instant chemistry. And I’m talking about palpable need that holds you in its clutches until you give in. But their priority was saving the failing company, and later their easy and genuine friendship. I just adored their interactions and playful encounters. However, the undeniable attraction was still there, and combined with a long and sincere friendship, it turned into true and all-consuming love. It hurt me to see their struggle, to see how scared both of them were to take a leap and bare themselves fully. Especially Trey, with his secrets and unconventional needs. But when they finally snapped, it was like fireworks on the Fourth- spectacular and breathtaking.

This book is a perfect combination of slow burn, friends to lovers and office romance. The tension in this book is so intense and palpable that you’re waiting with bated breath for the outcome. And when it happens, I swear I could melt from the heat! Trey and Kate’s story keeps at the edge of the seat with all the withholding and angst, but the ending is more than satisfying! Love in Lingerie is one of the sexiest books I’ve ever read. Highly recommend!

A great collection of stories!!

If you're looking for some fantastic romances, then look no further than this amazing collection of stories all bundled into one huge book. I promise, you won't regret getting this one.

Of the four authors featured, two I am huge fans of and two were new authors for me to check out. Kandi Steiner is a one-click, as in you don't even have to read the blurb to know you're going to get a tear-jerker. Full of emotions and heartache, her Love Letter to Whiskey is un-putdownable. It's one of those stories that will have you glued to the pages, afraid to put it down because there's just so much power in her words. Love in Lingerie is one of my favorites from Alessandra Torre. I'd read this one a while back and I consumed this story all over again. Torre knows how to put steam to the pages and Love in Lingerie is one of those stories that will literally make you blush. Teardrop Shot by Tijan wasn't bad for my first time reading her. I'm not sure if her other works are similar to this but she has an easy style of writing that quickly sucks you in. I saved Sloth by Ella James for last and again, I was gutted from the emotional turmoil. It was one of those reads that'll have you frustrated one moment and reeling the next. Of the four stories here, Sloth probably had the biggest impact on me. Talk about characters that will stay with you--Ella James should be commended for her creation of Kellan and Cleo.

I wish I could say that one story is better than the other but these are all fantastic reads. They each have their audience yet together they make one heck of a collection. Highly recommend this one!!

An anthology with 4 varied stories - something for everyone.

A Love Letter to Whiskey by Kandi Steiner: 4 stars
An emotionally gutwrenching story of two people who cannot seem to stay away from each other. Yes, there are more than a few separations. Yes, they push and pull at each other. Yes, it's angsty af. And yes, there's the big, bad c word. But I loved this story even though it wore my heart out by the time I was done reading.

Sloth by Ella James: 5 stars
One of the best erotic mysteries mixed with romances of sorts that I've ever read. Even though it's been years since I read it, I still remember it and the relationship the two leads develop. Both through words on paper and in person. Whew, this one is a doozy!

Teardrop Shot by Tijan: 3 stars
Unfortunately this one did not work for me for a couple reasons. One being that Charlie drove me absolutely nuts with her insane babbling and weird questions. Yes, I know she was going through something and she could not really help her weird quirks, but she irritated me to no end. And two, the relationship was not developed well enough for my tastes. I loved Reese, though, and thought he was a saint for putting up with her insanity.

Love in Lingerie by Alessandra Torre: 5 stars
One of my favorite stories, ever. My original review from when I first read it is below:

Whew, Love in Lingerie is awesome in a slow burn, hot kind of way!

Kate and Trey are such an appealing couple, who start off as boss and employee, then morph into best friends, then, finally, lovers. I really loved reading their slow burn because it was so sweet, and funny, and I can vividly picture in my head something like that actually happening.

Kate is hired by Trey as a Creative Director, to help his company, Marks Lingerie, out of its slump. From the very first time they meet at her interview, though, she knows he's trouble. Or perhaps, more accurately, that she's in trouble being around him. Nearly her whole internal dialogue both during and after her interview revolves around how attractive she finds Trey. Yeah, I'd say she's about to find herself in a lot of hot water!

"Some men reek of trouble. Trey Marks is one of those men."

"He doesn't just reek of trouble. The damn man is dipped in temptation, the center of it all radiating out of those eyes."

"Baby Jesus in a Manger. The man should be illegal."

Yep, she's attracted to her soon to be boss from their very first meeting. The trouble, though, is that he makes it very clear that he is equally attracted to her, also. Fortunately for both of them, and for her engaged status, he also makes it equally clear that Marks Lingerie has a strict no fraternization policy. And, more importantly, HE specifically, doesn't sleep with his employees. "But despite what you may have heard about me, there are certain lines I don't cross, and fucking my employees is one of them."

Surprisingly, both are able to not only avoid giving into temptation (for the most part), but also find themselves becoming close, as in best friends kind of close. I found this to be the biggest surprise, that Trey and Kate actually became such good friends and didn't really cross the line of that friendship. Sure, they flirted, and even touched a little, but they never indulged their obvious attraction to each other. They knew that at first, the company depended upon them keeping it professional, and later, their friendship was too precious to go beyond. But, through it all, their feelings kept growing and morphing until they finally just couldn't resist any longer. And when it finally happens, the long, slow burn is completely worth the wait, because their coming together is seriously hot, it's clear that their sexual tension had been stoking for 3 long years, and it had nowhere else to go but to explode. Damn, I'm fanning myself just thinking about it! *wink*

I absolutely love both Trey and Kate. They're both interesting and entertaining and have layers beyond just the obvious attractive looks. Trey in particular has an interesting past, an interesting, particular kind of kink. It's a pretty hot kind of kink in my mind, but not everyone is of my (and Trey's) mind.

So if friends to lovers, or slow burn are your kind of thing, Love in Lingerie should be at the top of your TBR list!

Love Letter to Whiskey - This is my first book by Kandi Steiner that I have read but I can honestly say it will not be my last. Throughout the story Breck "B" and Jamie intertwine their friendship with thoughts and feeling of fall in love. Using the metaphor of falling in love to being an alcoholic was done with a sense of truth and honor. Love is not always sunshine and roses, it can also be abuse and dependency. The reader will be locked in from the opening pages and will not want to put it down until it is over, but with every turn of the page they are taken on a wild ride.

Sloth - If you are looking for an easy going story that leaves you with the feeling of happiness and butterflies than walk away and do not pick this up, but if you are looking for a story that incorporated secrets and lies, and takes the reader on an emotional roller coaster than this is the book for you. Ella James takes the story of Kellan and Cleo from the faceless notes into a mystery that the reader cannot put down. I do not cry with most heart wrenching reads but I can honestly say this one had me ugly crying.

Teardrop Shot - This story was a great combination of a heavy heartbreaking tale as well as one filled with humor. Reese and Charlie have had a connection and when they reunite this becomes so much more than a sports romance. Each and every chapter made me want to read it quicker. The emotions just flew from the pages. The storyline locked me in from the very beginning. Overall it was a great read.

Love In Lingerie - With her dream job in her reach, Kate feels she is the perfect fit to get the struggling lingerie company back on their feet. As the owner, Trey wants to see his company thrive and thinks that Kate will be the one to do it. What starts out as a friendship turns into so much more. This storyline is the epitome of a forbidden romance that also encompasses the friends to lovers aspect as well. But the question is what should be the priority love or the company. Filled with sexual frustration and a hot storyline. The epilogue takes the entire story and wraps it up with a little bow - simply perfect. This book should not be missed.

A Love Letter To Whiskey - From the moment that B met Jamie it was love at first sight on her part however they weren’t equipped to handle the curveballs that life kept throwing at him. This is an emotional story about an enduring love that is a decade in the making that is filled with mistakes, angst and time lost as they must accept that some things are inevitable despite the pain.

Teardrop Shot – Charlie has a painful past and her present isn’t going much better until she gets the chance to meet Reese who she has idolized from afar. Reese appears to be living the dream but he has a painful past as well. They are drawn to each other in spite of themselves and even though their journey had its challenges they couldn’t have been better suited to each other.

Love In Lingerie – Kate is dissatisfied with her life both personally and professionally but nothing could have prepared her for her new position at Marks Lingerie or the CEO Trey. Trey needs Kate’s professional skills to save his company so he knows that he needs to keep their relationship strictly professional but he is about to find out that denying the chemistry between is a challenge he can’t win.

Sloth – Two people exchanging letters become each others solace until fate brings them together under the most unlikely of circumstances and that is when things take a turn. Their journey is emotional, filled with so much heat, twists you don’t see coming and secrets that will keep you entertained until the end.

Never Let Go is a wonderful collection of stories written by some very talented writers. It is the first collection by Top Shelf Romance that I have read, and I loved reading each story. A collection of some of the greatest writing in these authors catalogues. Out of the 4 in this collection, I had already read 3 of them, and they love on my forever favorite shelf. I’m not gonna break down each story, because honestly, you should just read them all and enjoy the experience. I enjoyed both the rereads and the intro to the new. Would definitely recommend to all types of readers.

Omg this collection wrecked me so good!! I love what each of the books brought to whole collection.

A Love Letter To Whiskey by Kandi Steiner blew me away with angst. I had a full-on book hangover for days. I even created a playlist to help me get by. You'll get a rollercoaster of emotions, fill of smiles and tears, and some definite Kindle-throwing angst.

Sloth by Ella James was a reread that I loved even more this time around. The mystery surrounding these characters was perfectly written and the sexiness was better this time around. This story also brings some heavy angst, but it flows so well.

Teardrop Shot by Tijan was also a reread for me. This was the first book I ever read by this author, and I was greatly impressed. The quirkiness of the female lead was an unexpected addition that actually made me love her even more in the end. This is an awesome story of a famous professional athlete and down-and-out woman just trying to get by. I loved it.

Love In Lingerie by Alessandra Torre was hot. It's a workplace romance that delves into something that I have read before - when two characters hopelessly in love fight against that attraction. Whew, this story brought big feelings and left me buying my nails at some points.

What I loved about all the books in this collection was that they made me FEEL big things and each of them have stayed at the front of my brain. This was by far one of the best collections I've read in a while

Overall Grade: More than ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

I have to be honest with this review. I am very choosy when I decide to read a romance anthology. When I saw the release information for Top Shelf Romance’s Never Let Go anthology, a compilation of stories from Kandi Steiner, Ella James, Tijan, and Alessandra Torre, I decided to jump in because I adore Kandi Steiner and I had yet to read A Love Letter to Whiskey (her contribution to the anthology), and I had been intrigued with Tijan’s Teardrop Shot. What I found in my foray into this anthology is Top Shelf Romance’s genius in curating specific stories behind the theme of the book. That title Never Let Go isn’t just a title; it is the essence of this anthology. With that theme, the stories of this book take you on epic journeys of romance that oftentimes slow your heart, hurt your stomach, titillate you, and draw you through what are sometimes difficult moments in the stories by these authors. This book felt heavy with promise, and it didn’t disappoint in the least. I have spent the last few days drowning in the stories that feel substantial but make you work for that happily ever after. For this reader, it was a glorious journey that still weighs heavy in my heart.

Each of the stories was compelling. I had not read any of them prior to reading the anthology so I found myself entrapped by Ella James’s Sloth. James’s ability to create each moment of Cleo and Kellan’s story is overwhelming and beautiful and careful and engaging. I couldn’t stop. It’s 500 pages, and James provoked me to keep going even when the story became hard. Even when I wanted to throw my phone at the wall because their journey became difficult. Even when I wanted to reach through my screen and pummel Kellan for perceived curtness and disinterest. This story inspired me; it grabbed me; and it pulled me in, leaving me with a huge story hangover.

Alessandra Torre’s Love in Lingerie, the fourth story of the anthology, was actually the first one I read. I knew Steiner’s novella would make my heart bleed, so I decided to begin with what I perceived as a safer choice. To be clear, there is no safe choice here. Like the other stories of this anthology, Torre’s Trey and Kate are perfection. Seriously. Their chemistry bleeds off the page. Torre drives you through their story as they refuse to move their relationship beyond friendship even though the burn between them is palpable. Torre’s skill in moving the story forward without allowing the characters to give in until just the right time is the definition of edging. I found myself lost in Trey and Kate’s relationship praying that they would have more, knowing that Torre wouldn’t let me down. For me, Love in Lingerie was a perfect place to start.

Tijan surprises me. Each book that I have read, I come away wanting to know more about her process as a writer. Teardrop Shot is no different. I read Rich Prick earlier in the year, and it has such a different feel from Teardrop Shot. Like Sloth, like Love in Lingerie, and like Steiner’s A Love Letter to Whiskey, Teardrop Shot embraces the journey. Much like James’s Sloth, there is a secret in its story though, and that secret drives the gravity of it. In that gravity lies the brilliance of Tijan’s story. For me, Teardrop Shot drilled a small hole in my heart, and I found myself re-reading parts of the book because I didn’t want to let go of Tijan’s Reese and Charlie. One of my favorite parts of Tijan’s characterizations in this book and her other sports romances (that I’ve read thus far) is her ability to craft quirky, compelling heroines. Don’t get me wrong; Tijan’s Reese is a dreamy hero whom you fall in love with instantly. He’s the rock for Charlie that she requires. He’s created just for her, as Tijan illustrates in her story and I think that’s the reason I love Teardrop Shot the most. The vulnerability and precariousness of these two characters both compel you forward and hold you rapt. I wanted the story to both finish and continue. Like the other stories in this anthology, we are reminded that life progresses at an even, sometimes tedious, pace, and Tijan along with the other writers compose stories that allow readers to walk every step with the characters. That was my favorite part of Never Let Go.

Lastly, Steiner’s A Letter to Whiskey finds its brilliance in both her allusion and personification of Whiskey through Jamie Shaw. One of my favorite parts of writing, in general, is an author’s articulation of story through devices that illustrate their genius. Steiner keenly illustrates that through her style and construction of her story. Along with that, she points to the truth of her story when her heroine suggests “[I] think sometimes life is about embracing what hurts, because pain is one of the vivid emotions we can feel. Pain reminds us that we are alive, and I’ll always appreciate that stinging reminder.” I think this is why readers love angsty romances such as Steiner’s book. While it’s difficult to read Jamie and B’s journey, it reminds us that mixed in with the love and fun of life is a vat of pain, that we need that balance to truly acknowledge and understand the glories of living. That is the truth for each of these stories, and it’s an important one, hence the reason this book feels essential.

Top Shelf Romance’s Never Let Go anthology feels weighty and beautiful. Yes, it puts its readers through the paces of romance. But when this reader finished it, I felt as though I met an achievement. It also seemed like such a worthy bit of reading. While you must journey through the trials of Steiner’s, James’s, Tijan’s, and Torre’s heroes and heroines, every bit of it is a journey worth taking. Never Let Go is the best money you will spend today, tomorrow, and in weeks to come.

I love Top Shelf Romance- not only because I get multiple books in one, letting me revisit old favorites and authors I adore as well as discover new ones. But I also love that I know I’m going to get the best of the best, and get to see a variety of authors at the peak of their genre, each with their own wheelhouses beautifully displayed. Not only does each book bring together authors in the peak of their field, but the anthology finds a way to thematically link stories from various different sects, styles, and tropes from the romance genre- here, in the aptly named Never Let Go.

I’ve loved all the authors whose work has been featured in these quarterly complications, but I must admit this particular bunch and the specific works chosen by each is perhaps the strongest showing yet- which says a lot since I consider most Top Shelf Romance entries to be the best authors and their best work. This batch, I’d actually only read one of the entries prior- although I was familiar with each author’s work, so I knew I was in for a treat getting to discover some of the best work from authors I already adored- and these stories really delivered. I love how each story was so carefully chosen not only to fit into theme but also really highlights each author’s phenomenal strengths and talents unique to each of them. These works are emotional, captivating, angsty at times, heartbreaking and hopeful, and oh so sexy.

Teardrop Shot- So great to return to this one, one of Tijan’s best and most loved stories. Tijan is the queen of angst in brokenness, characters struggling with their damages and finding a connection that they aren’t quite ready for, or even open to, because of their brokenness but a connection that they also need. These stories of that intense connection- and the exploration of our own hurts, our own pains, through the lens of having to expose those to another- that is what makes Tijan fans, like me, so ravenous. Charlie is truly a Tijan heroine- she’s our center, she’s fierce and eccentric at times and so captivating. And Reese is a dreamy Tijan hero, the safety for our heroine, the catalyst for vulnerability and emotional depth. Second only to Ryan’s Bed, this is one of my favorite Tijan books, and I loved reading it again.

Sloth by Ella James- Ella James is a long time favorite of mine, but I’d not yet tackled Sloth, one of her most recognized and revered works. It is massive in length- a veritable tome- but I felt every word keenly. Cleo and Kellan’s story is difficult in places, beautiful in others, and completely consuming throughout. The length of this story allows Ella to really invest in their relationship journey to allow so much story to build around them- the evolution of words on a page to strangers getting to know each other to an intense connection. This couple goes through so much- and there is a lot to figure out. Just know that this story is an investment- but it pays off, truly, you just have to trust in this story, and these characters. In the end, I’m heavily in my feels. The heat is scorching, the beautiful moments breathtaking, and the despairing moments ripped my heart out. The careful construction of this plot- this story- and the twists and turns...well, they floored me. This story is different, unique, challenging in places- but the heart is the intense interconnection of the flawed but magical Cleo and Kellan, and the dynamic push pull of two characters whose paths are already cemented to each other.

A Love Letter to Whiskey- Kandi is so powerful at writing emotional, angsty stories that are still so incredibly grounded, stories that feel weighty with the joy, and the pain, that is the path of falling in love. She so vividly writes about the ACT of falling in love- the way it evolves and develops, and I’ve always appreciated her unflinching commitment to planting that seed in a story and carefully tending it to watch it grow. I’ve read many Steiner books, but I hadn’t picked this one up- and I regret it now. Full of symbolic allusions to the books namesake, this is a raw and epic love story. Jamie and B’s story is often painful, heavily angsty, but articulates the age old adage that the highs are more joyfully experienced, more visceral, because we also experience the lows. Kandi always brings such meaning, so many layers, but keeps the story quiet and focused, its why her stories feel so truly romantic, and so intimate.

Love in Lingerie- Torre is a less familiar author to me, so I was excited to dive into the world of Kate and Trey. This steamy story built so much anticipation between these characters,, straight away from their meet cute moment the sexual tension between these two was explosive, even as they resisted their connection. Trey is SO yummy- a full of himself alpha man who smug banter got me all hot and bothered. Torre really nailed the chemistry aspect here- it just sizzles. This is the kind of story where our characters' unwillingness to see what is in front of them both excites and frustrates you- but oh man, does it keep the page turning.

Never Let Go is truly an homage to the dynamic tension of that push-pull angst. Each story features couples that truly can’t let go of one another, of the connection they have, even though they may want to, even though they fight it. The result is an anthology with a sharp point of view and strong, emotional resonant stories that kept me high in my feelings throughout. Definitely my favorite one yet.

I read A Love Letter to Whiskey by Kandi Steiner.

5 stars/standalone
This book gutted me. What an emotional roller coaster ride. There were times I wanted to kick my Kindle...hard. A Love Letter to Whiskey made me want to do shots of whiskey. Whiskey is one of my top reads! I have a monumental emotional book hangover. By the way, at 80% into this book, I decided I would be rereading it again super soon. IT'S THAT GOOD!

Book 1:
A Love Letter to Whiskey by Kandi Steiner

My Review:
My Rating: 4 Stars

Breck who goes by the letter B as her name meets Jamie when she literally runs into him, what happens next is a heart wrenching and angst filled book that will tear your hearts into pieces as the two figure out who they are. Jaime becomes B's "whiskey". The type of whiskey that is hard to give up even though you know it's an addiction you need to beat. They start out as friends and then as the years go on the lines begin to blur and they become something more than even words can describe. It's hard to write a review without giving everything away because this is a book you need to go into blind. B is not a perfect heroine. She's stubborn, frustrating, and so flawed, but that's what makes her feel real. You feel everything that happens to her and that she does to herself. Jaime isn't perfect either and the communication between the two when it is most important is not always there and the timing between these two never seem to be right. As a reader I just wanted them to figure out their stuff and be together, but life isn't easy and neither is love.

I felt my heart break and mend together many times during this book. This isn't a sweet light read that will make you smile, it's heart breaking, filled with angst, real and will make you feel bittersweet at times. It has good moments that show you how great the two characters are great for each other and will show you multiple reasons as to why they shouldn't be together all the way to the end where you find out what happens to B and Jaime and whether they end up together or not. I'm not going to spoil this but the journey these two make is amazing.

“Because that’s what life’s about. It’s about paddling out and fighting the waves until you find the perfect one to ride home on.”

Book 2
Sloth by Ella James

My Review:
My Rating: 2 Stars

First, I want to say whoever wrote this blurb did a great job at intriguing a person to read this book, however for me this book just wasn't the right fit. I won't give too many details because I don't want to give any spoilers away and this book is one that the secrets are revealed as time goes on.

What I did like was that this story is told in dual point of view. I think if it would have just been by one of the characters I wouldn't have understood why the other one stayed or their motives for doing what they did. I enjoyed the letter aspect at the beginning of the book. The writing also wasn't horrible.

What I didn't like was I feel like this book just focused too much on sex and not on the story line. I read this as part of an anthology so I didn't know it was supposed to be an erotica, maybe if I knew that then reading this book I might have liked or I most likely wouldn't have read it because I am not huge into that type of book. I thought this book dragged on with too many fillers and too many story lines that didn't end up being important. This book is broken up into 3 parts and they seem discombobulated, especially parts 2 and 3. I felt like each part should have been it's own book and done a trilogy. Overall, this book wasn't for me, but if you like erotica you might like this book.

Book 3
Teardrop Shot By Tijan

My Review:
My Rating: 3 Stars

Charlie ends up working at a summer camp she used to work with after getting dumped and fired. When she gets there she finds out that it's actually being used as a training camp for the Seattle Thunder basketball team. When Charlie gets nervous she ends up blurting random questions and after asking Reese about his criteria for bed buddies the two end up becoming friends.

Both Charlie and Reese have heavy baggage. I don't want to give to much away, but I was surprised when it was revealed what Charlie's baggage was. I will admit I didn't like Charlie right away. She annoyed me with her random questions and her attitude towards other people, but as I continued the story I understood it was the way she dealt with things and as she dealt with her issues and grew she wasn't as annoying. By the end of the book I actually kinda liked Charlie. I thought Reese was a good fit for Charlie. He didn't let her shut down and he knew when to back off. I enjoyed their friendship and even when it became a little more. This was a cute read that definitely got better the second half of the book. If you are looking for a sports romance with a little heartbreak this is the book for you.

Book 4
Love In Lingerie by Alessandra Torre

My Review:
My Rating: 4 Stars

Kate is hired as creative director to help Trey keep his business afloat. Even though there is attraction between Kate and Trey right away Trey has a rule not to sleep with his employees. The two end up becoming best friends, but there is always that underlying attraction that sneaks through their daily lives. This is a slow burn romance with Kate and Trey always tip toeing the line of their attraction while trying to remind themselves a relationship with the other would be a bad idea for their friendship and business. This was told in dual point of view so you get both Trey and Kate's thoughts which help you really understand their reasons of how important the other person is in their life.

The books chosen by Top Shelf are usually ones that I have read the majority of. There is a reason for that. It is because they are some of the best that I have had the pleasure of reading. Before starting this collection, in particular, I went back to read three of them that I had already read again. The reason for this is for some reason, I didn't leave a review on them. I think this was because at that time I didn't know the importance of writing an actual review over just giving them a star. I know now. Hence, why I want my mind refreshed as I review them as part of this collection.

Love Letter to Whiskey by Kandi Steiner
5 stars

The second time reading this was even better than the first.

I'm not sure why I never left a review for this book the first time I read it. I was remiss in that because this book is truly an experience. The angst and emotion that leaps off the pages, as if they were Superman is powerful. I felt, literally, a maelstrom of emotions. B and Jaimie's love is epic. It is tortured.it is also raw and beautiful. I don't condone some of the actions in this book, but Lordy, these two were destined. Anything that happened was because these two were supposed to burn bright together.

This author wrote so many eloquent passages that truly touched me in how she conveyed the emotions.

"Words don’t get written from a heart that’s never felt. They come from pain, from love, from unspeakable depths — and they were my only release. That was also the night I pledged myself dry."

This quote is just one example. It is sentences like this that make me feel and was the reason I pursued a degree in literature.

This book was how I discovered her and it will forever be my favorite. I highly recommend this book. It was even better the second time around.

Sloth by Ella James
4.5 stars

I am ashamed that I didn't write a review the first time. Even though I had read this story before and knew the outcome, it didn't change the fact that it still felt like I was reading it for the first time. I had forgotten how everything was connected in bringing these characters together.

I enjoy the penpal letters at first and then slowly watching these two characters grow from strangers literally to strangers with secrets. Their Cleo and Kellan had crazy chemistry. Their connection was out of this world. My heart hurt for what they went through in the end. I still felt myself tearing up at a certain part. I would have to be the tinman to not feel the emotions that poured out in this book and those last few scenes in particular.

This book started me on my journey with this amazing author and it is always the one that stands out amongst a bevy of great books. Highly recommend.

Teardrop Shot by Tijan
4.3 stars

This author is one that I had previously only read a handful of stories and this was not one of them. All I really knew about this author was her ability to take something broken, whether it be a person or a situation and somehow would make it whole again.

This book was an example of that. Both Charlie and Reese had something broken in them and they managed to come together in order to fit those jagged pieces into one. I had moments where I initially struggled with the characters, mainly Charlie, but somehow they made me love them. Reese from the beginning was someone that intrigued me. I wanted him to be happy more than anything because there was just something about his demeanor that had me sucked in.

The story felt slow at times which is the main reason that it didn't rank higher. However, at no time was I willing to not keep turning those pages because this writer is gifted in what she crafts. She knows how to keep her audience begging for more. While this was not my favorite from her, sorry that belongs to Ryan's Bed, and Bennett Mafia, it still was another solid book by this extraordinary author.

Love in Lingerie by Alessandra Torre
4.5 stars

If there is something I have learned from all the books that I have read by this author, it is the fact that she can write some steam. She writes the "build-up" in a way that has me more frustrated than the characters. There were even a few times that I was worried my kindle would overheat.

I loved watching the flirting banter from Kate and Trey. From the moment they met, there was just that special something there. I loved the smug cockiness of Trey, and trust me when I say he had EVERY right to feel cocky. He was just delicious. Kate kept him on his toes and I liked that they both made the other better. There were a couple of areas that I wish had been fleshed out more and a couple of times I wanted to shake them because of how they seemed to fight the notion that they were meant for more.

Still, one of my favorites from this author. Highly recommend.

Never Let Go is a collection of four best-selling novels including:
A Love Letter to Whiskey by Kandi Steiner
Sloth by Ella James
Teardrop Shot by Tijan
Love in Lingerie by Alessandra Torre

This collection is an amazing set of selected titles for all the lovers of angsty and emotional reads.

A Love Letter to Whiskey-This story. These characters. These words. These emotions that you had coursing through my veins was the very essence of why I love to read. This was not a story of perfect characters but instead of flawed individuals who continued to make mistakes after mistakes. Individuals who hurt each other emotionally. So how could I be intoxicated on a story where cheating occurred multiple times? The answer to that is simple. Love is complicated. Love is patient. Love is kind. Love is beauty. Love is truth. And the truth of the matter, love can be selfish. Love can be cruel. Love can be an addiction. Good and bad. It can be toxic. But love can make you feel. And the story of Jamie and B was a story that I will happily drown in over and over again. Why would I torture myself in such a complicated love story? Because love is meant to be consuming and a story that makes you feel every fiber of emotions coursing through your veins is a story worth remembering. And this is one love letter to whiskey where I will savor every last drop.

“Jamie was whiskey, that much I was sure of. I couldn’t deny the way he burned, the way his taste lingered.”

A Love Letter to Whiskey is an utterly raw gripping addictive read. This book was built on a symphony of raw emotions. Emotions that left you frazzled, confused, hurt, angry, sad, and wildly intoxicated. Steiner did not write an ordinary love story but instead a story that left you savoring every drop of her poetic and stunning prose. To the very last drop, you will want a taste of whiskey. You will want to know and experience a selfish kind of love. An addictive kind of love. And most importantly a love that is honest. Real. Raw. A love that leaves you vulnerable and breathless. And so if you are ready to take a sip and get your first taste of a literary masterpiece then I urge you to get drunk on this book. Take a sip, savor the taste, and enjoy the lasting aftertaste of whiskey or in this case Kandi Steiner's words.

Teardrop Shot-This book destroyed me, in more ways than one. First, I cannot remember laughing out loud so much or so frequently while reading any book. I've laughed before but NEVER like I did with this book. Charlie's crazy and her inappropriate twenty questions slayed me. My eyes would start leaking and my abs feel like I gave them an hour long workout.

Tijan could not have written this book better or given the subject matter more care. This is a must read so dont miss out on the authors brilliance.

This book is a MUST read, I devoured it in one sitting. DEVOURED. Beautifully awkward love at it's finest.

Sloth by Ella James-It was really interesting...this book. The writing style was definitely amazing, I didn't really want to put it down once, and I wouldn't have, but that pesky thing called 'life' got in the way. At first, I really had no idea what was going on, but I found it to be so intriguing and mysterious that I just had to go on and figure out what was going on. Let me tell you, this book is really slow paced... but it didn't matter to me, I enjoyed it all the same. Once things started coming together? definite 'holy shit' reaction for me.

Love in Lingerie by Alessandra Torre-The story starts to slowly become confusing at first due to my questioning as to how the two main characters will move past the obstacles that are present in their lives. Though they start off as co-workers, they slowly throughout time learnt o become best friends. Going over each other’s place without invites, knowing what each other likes… stuff that only best friends, and in some scenarios, couples would do. Even though one of their biggest obstacles in the beginning of the story has something to do with Kate and her former fiance, they both somehow learn that their attraction for each other is not just only in the physical sense, but also in the emotional environment.

It was beyond incredible to read and enjoy the slow process of accepting the way Trey was and how he came to be once he established himself with the woman of his dreams.

I love what Top Shelf Romance is doing with these collections of full length books with amazing authors as I can't get enough of them.  I always have to start each one on the weekend because once I start them, I can't put it down until every page is devoured.

Love Letter to Whiskey/Kandi Steiner
This story was hard hitting with an emotional ride that tried to take me out.  This is not a bed of roses type of romance, but instead a raw, gritty, and very angst filled experience.  I found myself forgetting to breathe at times, that's how powerful it truly was.  B had quite the past which is why she has some issues. Jamie was a great hero, with the patience of a saint in my opinion since their journey is very bumpy.  And honestly, I'm still ruined by it all in the very best of ways.

Sloth/Ella James
OH MY HELL!  The brilliant Ella James took me on quite the ride, and I'm not talking just about emotions (and there were plenty of those), but the heart racing goodness that a story filled with secrets that don't make friends becomes when done right.  And make no mistake, Ms. James did it more than perfectly.  It's those twists that had me dropping loud f-bombs that put me firmly in my happy place, but there's more than that as well.  She created a hero (Kellan) & heroine (Cleo) that I could truly cheer for even with any sort of flaws along the way.  I sat in one place until every last page in this story was devoured so yeah, I LOVED IT HARD!

Teardrop Shot/Tijan
Tijan's books are always original, so I never know what to expect except that I'm going to love them, and Teardrop Shot is absolutely no exception. Charlie was a very different type of heroine, one that I've absolutely NEVER come across, so it took me a bit to really get used to her, but one thing that I could relate to with her, was her love for basketball. Her weird question asking, not so much, but her basketball hero, Reese, had the patience to answer all of her dorky questions which totally endured me to him so much more, though he was already yummy to me. I think the biggest sticking point of this story was the development of the romance because Charlie & Reese weren't insta anything, nope, they developed a deep friendship first, as both had some demons they carried around. That's not to say that there weren't sparks because there were, but Reese had a lot of drama in his personal life, so all he wants to do is concentrate on being the best player he can be. There was also a great cast of secondaries who added humor to the mix, so there's so much to be said for this romance. I know my review may sound cryptic, but I just don't want to ruin this amazing piece of goodness so I'm only giving away bits & pieces, and in order for you to really experience what I experienced, you'll have to one click it for yourselves!

Love in Lingerie/Alessandra Torre
Kate Marks is interviewing for the creative director position for Marks Lingerie, and Trey Marks (the owner) decides she's perfect for the job.  They decide to be friends as they go on to save his business, even with all the sparks flying around.  There's a method to their madness as the new line is a built up sexual frustration line, but we all know that strong chemistry won't be denied for long, especially when they're creating sexiness.  Will they ever cross the friend zone for something beautiful?!  You know how to find out.

I can't stress this enough, EVERYONE NEEDS to read this collection immediately!  HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!

I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review.

Ready for your pulse to race in the best of ways? This is a selection of romance novels that will sweep you off your feet. Written by best selling authors who will make you stand up and cheer. You have to read these stories. Never Let go is a collection of four best-selling novels including:
A Love Letter to Whiskey by Kandi Steiner.
Sloth by Ella James
Teardrop Shot by Tijan
Love in Lingerie by Alessandra Torre.

These are four great stories that are sure to have you not being able to put this book down. I loved them so much and really couldn't pick one that I liked better than the others. I have read a couple of these authors before and two I had not. I now won't be missing any of their books from now one. How can you not win when you get four books in one collection.

A Love Letter to Whiskey -Oh my this book!!! I think it tore my heart out a time or two. This is the story of Jamie and Brecks. These two have had a unique friendship that spans many many years. Many years of trials and angst and all of it different so there is never a dull moment in this book or with these characters. If you get frustrated with Brecks, just hang in there and she will get through it with her. It is a story of what is meant to be and a girl who fights it with everything she has inside her. You just might find a tear or two in your eyes too.

Sloth-If you are looking for a story that is different from what you usually read then Sloth will be that book for you. This one I think it best to go into blind and not read the reviews as I feel like it is way to easy to give away something that you shouldn't about this book. I really liked this book. Just dive in and enjoy the ride.

Teardrop Shot- This one will have the butterflies flying and all kinds of fluttery feelings come out of you while reading. I think too that it runs the gamete of emotions. I laughed, shed a tear, and was fanning my self from how hot this couple is. You will not be able to put this one down so be prepared to possibly lose some sleep. Tijan blew this one out of the water!!

Love in Lingerie- This one packs on the angst too. This book is a lot deeper than the title would lead you to think it was going to be. This is the story of Kate who is hired by Trey to bring to live to his company Marks Lingerie. Trey is a serious businessman and he has this strict no fooling around between employees policy that this book will make him live to regret. Trey has it bad for Kate and this story will be such a tease that your kindle might just melt from all the chemistry. I loved this one too.

There wasn't a story in this book that I did not love. If you are in the mood for stories with lots of angst then you don't want to miss this collection.

I was given this book by Top shelf romance in return for an honest review.

Here are my reviews for the 2 I got read.

🥃 A love letter to whiskey by Kandi Steiner 🥃

Don't you want a little whiskey on your lips?

OMG THIS BOOK!!!! Kandi you have spoiled me for all the other books, seriously AMAZING.

Jamie and B  have the most chemistry in any book I have EVER read! Wow it is seriously off the charts intense, it keeps you sitting on the edge of your chair wanting more.

Do not even get me started on the angst! Gosh it was just crazy full of it. I seriously do not think I have felt so much of it in one book before!! I knew your books were full angst before but Now I realise where you originally got the Queen of Angst title from, it is seriously well deserved girl.

🔥 All the angst

🔥 Intense

🔥 Hot sex

🔥 Humor

🔥 Friendship

🔥 Love

🔥 Chemistry

🔥 Emotional

This book had the hottest sex scene ever, the intensity of it was just phenomenal and it was that that made it so hot!!!

OMG the scene in the bar where Jamie walks in, I'm pretty sure he got me pregnant lol. What an intense scene.

Jamie and B first met in school, I wonder how different their lives would have been had they got together then. Their love for one another was so strong, they had such a strong connection just sadly they had to go through a lot of hurt on the way.

It was weird reading about the relationship between B and her dad as I had a similar one with my own father. Different circumstances but so alike. My father passed last year and I was only informed 3 months later and it broke me, it absolutely knocked me for 6 with how hard I took it after a non relationship for 12 years. This book really made me think about that while reading it.

The ending killed me, I was so on edge and when it finished I just burst in to tears,  it was just so much to deal with. The emotions I felt in those last few chapters were all consuming! Kandi I think you broke me.

Thank you so much for writing this book and for the chance to live Jamie and B's journey! What a journey it was. ❤

❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

👙 Love in lingerie by Allesandra Torre👙

This is the first book I have ever read by this author and I will not be the last one, I can not wait to pick up one of her other books.

The two main characters in this book were fabulous together both as friends and later as lovers. Trey and Kate were both beautiful people that happened to have a massive connection and an even bigger amount of chemistry. Seriously if you were in the same room as this pair you would get burned from the intensity, it was off the charts hot!! They were awesome friends, who were determined to be nothing more due to working together, even though each of them desperately wanted the other.

What I loved was the underlying sexual chemistry, it wasn't in your face but rather simmering away under the surface making you want more of it

This book had it all!!

🔥 Slowburn

🔥 Friends to lovers

🔥 Temptation

🔥 Alpha Male

🔥 Workplace romance

🔥 chemistry

🔥 Intense

🔥 humor

🔥 Witty banter

I really loved this book so much , a perfect lazy Sunday afternoon read and definitely can be devoured in one sitting.

The last few chapters were amazing, I really loved the ending and thought it was perfect for this stunning pair.

I definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a fun, sexy easy read.

Thank you so much for this book ❤

I love collections and anthologies, because they can introduce you to new authors so organically. A well put together collection can take a theme and really expand your horizons. Never Let Go is an excellent collection, obviously assembled with a lot of thought to how the stories fit together. It’s full of delicious angst and emotional turmoil, with a beautiful ebb and flow to it. Even though I’d previously read 3 of the 4 titles by some of my favorite authors, I wanted to enjoy the journey and reacquaint myself with those stories. I wasn’t disappointed.
A Love Letter to Whiskey by Kandi Steiner⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ALLTW is a favorite amongst Steiner fans for a reason. Kandi is a gifted storyteller with a special knack for the angst, and Jamie and B’s story is the definition of emotional rollercoaster. You feel the heartache as they are pulled towards each other just to be ripped away again. Through the years and other relationships, friendship, and the curse of bad timing, they’re unable to quit each other. The way Kandi uses the whisky imagery is unforgettable. A uniquely beautiful and unforgettable story.
Sloth by Ella James ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This author and story was new to me, but holy crap! I need more of this greatness in my life. Kellan and Cleo’s story just might incinerate your kindle. There was an epic level of hotness going on here. The blurb is kinda vague so I was going in blind, but I loved the journey. There’s a bit of mystery, a bit college romance, a lot of marijuana. There were some twists I didn’t see coming, and then there was an emotional sucker punch that left me dizzy and weepy. I am in love with this book.
Teardrop Shot by Tijan ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Charlie is the very definition of quirky. To the point of being almost “too much”. Then she meets Reese and he just...gets her. They strike up a friendship that grows into more, and as we get to know more about these characters the story really picks up steam. It’s more than just a love story, it’s a story of friendship, family, and forgiveness. Reese is the real gem of the book, and I really enjoyed it.
Love in Lingerie by Alessandra Torre ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This book redefines “slow-burn” for me. It’s an office romance, a friends-to-lovers romance...whatever you call it, it’s delicious. There’s an immediate attraction and chemistry between Kate and Trey. I love that Kate is an extremely capable woman who excels in her field. However, she really struggles in her romantic relationships and tends to settle. I love their friendship, but there is seriously palpable sexual tension just simmering away. That tension was so well done I didn’t even notice how far through the book I was before they finally made good on it all. I really loved this one.

This collection was a little hit or miss for me, but still worth picking up.

Kandi Steiner with A Love Letter to Whiskey / 5*
I once started this one a while ago outside of this collection and for some reason never finished. I regret that. This is an amazing story. As usual with miss Steiner, it is absolutely a tearjerker. You hardly know what the next step is gonna be and it’s written in a way you can’t put down, you have to find out more about B and Jamie! This story is not an easy read, it starts off heavy and then we get to see the life story of B and Jamie together. I love this writing style and I love the characters even more. Bring the tissues though…

Sloth by Ella James / 3*
This book was new to me, and a first by this particular author, though I have had it on my TBR. A dark romance, erotic and based on one of the 7 deadly sins. While I did like the story, I had a little bit of trouble getting through it. It’s well written, yet hard to get through at times. There were some issues tying the 3 different parts in the book together in my opinion. And while I did love the main characters, I wasn’t quite as attached to them and as invested as I often am with well written books. Do still think it’s very creative and I recommend it.

Teardrop Shot by Tijan / 2*
I have to say honestly, I’m not a big fan of sports romances. Personal preference. I did give this one a shot though and I liked it well enough, but I do not feel like I could give the best review because of bias. Having said that. I do think Tijan has a really nice writing style. It’s easy to read, great characters and I did lose a tear or 2. The story follows Charlie and Reese. Charlie having just lost her job and her relationship, meets Reese, a famous sports star.

Alessandra Torre and A Love in Lingerie / 5*
Not what I would have picked up on my own, but I loved it. It’s absolutely a slow-burn, but it fit with the story a lot. Trey meets Kate, an applicant for the position of creative director in his company. It wasn’t quite what I expected going into it, but I was more than pleasantly surprised. The characters were well developed, the story a good slow-burn, but doen in a way that didn’t feel like you were pushing yourself to keep reading. A perfect balance between humor, heat and a little bit of drama. Highly recommend it.

All in all, there were some stories that I loved beyond love and some that just didn’t do it for me. Regardless, it’s still worth picking up and worth a read!

A Love Letter to Whiskey by Kandi Steiner
Ugh! This one punched me in the guts from the very start. The angst is there since moment one and while you wish you could keep your heart safe you also wish nothing more than the story and its characters owning you. You want to be there with them and feel each and every emotions they feel. To live every precious moment they live. But also, to find a way to save all (including yourself) from the pain that's obviously coming your way.

This was and incredible and emotional journey. The story has the kind of pain that has you begging for more but also the kind of love you'd wish for yourself.

Brilliant and beautiful.

Sloth by Ella James
Sloth is one of those book where it's best to go in blind so you don't miss the excitement of figuring the story out.

This one was an emotional roller coaster. I must say I did see some of the curveballs coming but there were a few other facts that took me completely by surprise. This story made me feel all the emotions possible. The angst slowly tried to kill me while I kept reading but so did that need of finding out the truth.

This is a really unique story. It's hot and intriguing. It will keep you guessing as you turn the pages and wanting to figure out the connection between the characters.

Consuming and addictive.

Teardrop Shot by Tijan
Absolutely loved this one! Even though it is an emotional read it will give you enough happy and swoony moments that will make a great combination with the pain that you're obviously feeling. From the very beginning I rooted for Reese and Charlie to get their HEA and even though it's not an easy journey it is one to remember. I read it so fast and with so much paing because I never wanted it to end but also I needed to know the outcome of this great story.

A swoony, fun and emotional journey.

Love in Lingerie by Alessandra Torre.
This one is the kind of story you can't get enough of. A little bit of forbidden here and a little bit of forbidden there. All of that makes a great combination with the friends to lovers trope. This one made me swoon hard, it made me feel frustrated at times, but also, it had my heart beating harder and harder because the chemistry between the Kate and Trey. These two make sparks fly out of the pages and set another level in the hot chemistry chart, with their is slow, ever so slow burn romance.

Breathtaking and delicious.

Maybe you've read these authors before. Maybe you haven't. This has four full-length books all in one place.

A Love Letter To Whiskey by Kandi Steiner

The Prologue will set you up for what is yet to come. This seems to be told from the woman's perspective.

Brecks has been defeated before anything ever began. Jamie is a young man ready for life's next adventure. For me, this had to be the strangest story that I've read to date. But there was something about it that got me hooked - I just couldn't let it go. It was an interesting introduction to an author I have never had the chance to read before.

Sloth by Ella James

This author created an interesting way to tell her story. It's certainly an intriguing way to introduce the reader to her characters. The book is done in sections in case you have a hard time trying to find the perfect spot to stop.

The second section of the story seems to be "normal" because of what a reader usually comes to expect when opening a book. I actually enjoyed the first section and was expecting the rest of the book to be the same. My expectations got the better of me so that I had to change my mindset in order to catch up to what our author has written.

The female character is a college student entrepreneur. The male character had me confused. My mind just couldn't seem to process what he was about. Plus I just couldn't relate to them. And I kept wondering how this was romantic. On the positive, I really liked the ending.

Teardrop Shot by Tijan

Charlie seems to want a relationship but it's having a partner that seems to be the issue. She seems to be a little quirky and I liked that about her. At times she will get you to laugh.

This is a sports romance - basketball to be exact. Reese happens to have a part in that sport. He seems to be persistent when he's after something. I liked watching a relationship blossom and finding another author to follow.

Love In Lingerie by Alessandra Torre

Kate isn't quite sure about where her life is taking her. Trey is vying for a fresh start. The author creates an interesting take on an employer/employee relationship. Our author made it very easy for me to laugh at the circumstances she has created. I think it was a great way to end this anthology. And a great introduction to this author's work.

I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.

A love letter to whiskey

It's one if the few books I haven't read by Kandi so I am really happy I did..this is an angst fest that frustrated me, brought me to tear and got me mad at times too..gotta love a wild emotional ride!

Sloth

Wow..This book is so brilliant!!! Right from the start I was hooked..those letters and the not knowing what was really going on. The best thing is that you want know what is going on for the most part and still you get so invested in Kellan and Chloe's lives and relationship..so many emotions, it's impossible not to feel for them.
You get the feeling throughout the story that something big is going to happen but being left in the dark just makes it more emotional when you do find out.
I won't forget this story in a hurry!!!

Love in lingerie

I have read the blurb like everybody else but didn't know what to expect...ok ok, so hat was a ie..we're tlking about Alessandra Torre so no, I didn't flippin read the blurb..I just jumped in with both feet...and holy wow..I was hooked right off the bat..both Kate and Trey enchanted me for very different reasons.
Kate was so passionate about her job, so in control and so sure of herself, yet in her personal life she was a bit of a mess!
Trey wasn’t much better in that department and he definitely needed Kate for his company.
They started out a bit rocky lol..he was technically the boss but she gave him a run for his money..then they became frienda and eventually best friends...let's say there was a common point of view on relationships at work :)
Now what really got me hooked was their banter and their easy relationship. They are open and funny and totally crazy, in a good way...and dang..the anticipation was nearly killing me..I mean, there is double Pov and I knew what each other was thinking, yet I couldn’t predict was would happen, if anything at all..their chemistry was off the chart and evwry time they were in a room together it was like foreplay. I kid you not..totally hard to breathe ;)
It was funny too..mostly I died every time thete were Kate's mom and sister and a certain someone in kate's life.. I was in stitches cause I couldn't believe some things.
The end made me totally melt in a puddle..
A fantastic story with brilliant characters and absolutely everything I could ask for

5 Stars for Never Let Go an wonderful collection of four full length novels put together by 4 very talented authors. This is the 6th collection from Top Shelf Romance but it’s the first time I have read any of their anthology’s.
A LOVE LETTER TO WHISKEY By Kandi Steiner
I’m really not sure why I have never read this before because it’s a beautifully written emotional romance that I will certainly read again and again. I was captivated from the first page to the last line as I joined B and Jaimie on their journey to find love. This book ticked all my boxes, I smiled, I cried and at times I got so frustrated but what a fantastic read....
SLOTH by Elle James
If you are looking for a dark erotic romance look no further than this one, it’s not an easy read and it certainly packs a mighty punch as you join Kellan and Cleo on their journey. This is a romance full of secrets and lies and it took me a while to warm up to the characters but I’m so glad I persevered with Sloth because it was worth all the times I picked it up and put it down. Great read....
TEARDROP by Tijan
This author is fairly new to me and after reading Teardrop I’m left wondering whey I haven’t picked up more of her books and I will certainly be looking at other works by her. This is a story that’s about friendships, love, passion and family betrayal and you will certainly be drawn in from the first line and I’m sure like me you will be left wanting more from Charlie and Reese. The chemistry is sizzling hot but what do you do when you have agreed to just be friends.....wonderful read that I will read again and again....
LOVE IN LINGERIE by Alessandra Torre
The final book in the collection and what a great story to end with, Kate is hired to help save a local lingerie company owned by Trey and from the moment they met the sparks fly, the attraction is instant, the chemistry is sizzling and all those long nights working out a plan to save the company were always going to lead to romance. If you are looking for a friends to lovers/ forbidden office romance look no further than this one. A fantastic entertaining read to end the collection with....
This is a collection that will appeal to a wide range of audiences, it has something for everyone and I urge you to one click this gem.

A Love Letter to Whiskey by Kandi Steiner
4 star

The story has pain, sadness, secrets, and heartbreak.

This story drags you in and shatters your heart. The author will slowly help you rebuild it, but it will not be pretty. Lots of emotions in this story. Guilt, sadness, regret, and just enough love to pull you through.

I felt I was able to connect with the characters and the story was a great read.

I recommend this book.

The story has pain, secrets, and heartbreak.

This story is a little darker. Add in a lot of erotic times and you get quite the read. What started out as a few notes and letters lead to more. But secrets are revealed that change everything. But will those revealed secrets be a good thing or the end of everything?

I felt I was able to connect with the characters and the story was a great read.
I recommend this book.

4.5 Stars

I was pulled right into this story. The story has laughs, secrets, fun, and heartbreak.

This is Charlie and Reese’s story. Charlie has been through a lot. Not many people know what she has been though, but she is moving forward. When Charlie is faced with her crush, she tries to keep it together but struggles. As they grow closer, she is fight against herself. If she loses her heart, she knows she will not recover. Can she give Reese a piece of herself if it might crush her to lose him in the end? Charlie is a little crazy in this story, but you will find yourself rooting for her. Lots of other people in the story will have you looking for other people to have in other stories.

I loved these characters and the side characters. I felt I could connect with the characters and the story was a great read.

I highly recommend this book.

I was pulled right into this story. The story has laughs, and heartbreak.

This story is about friends who become more. Lots of passion and chemistry woven around a sexy story. She is here to help him get his company back on its feet. He wants her right from the start but knows he should not touch an employee. What happens when passion is just too much, and you fall hard and fast.

I recommend this book.

Never Let Go a true top shelf romance filled with five-star reads. This is the sixth collection and each one brings amazing authors together and creates a compelling and confounding read that will keep you hooked.
A Love Letter to Whisky – How have I never read this one before, it goes down so smoothly that once I finished it I wanted to go back and read it all over again, It had me in so deep that I couldn’t let go and knew I needed to sink back in and surround myself by this story all over again. B and Jamie will take you on such a strong emotional journey that will stay with you, I can honestly say its one of the best stories I have ever read.
Sloth – a dark and mysterious story that will suck you in and not let you go for so many pages, I didn’t realise this was as long as it is, each page has reason for being in this story, each character plays their part, it can take some focus at times, but if you like darkness you wont be disappointed. But be warned you will need tissues, but they wont all be needed for tears of sadness.
Teardrop – a sports romance that gives so much more than the game. This was my first foray into Tijan as I have heard such amazing things I was always hesitant about going in and it not living up to the hype as I have found that with a couple of other authors I have heard such amazing things, now I need to go dig through my TBR pile for more, I was just expecting a simple sports romance, maybe some funny thrown in and what I got was so much more. Charlie and Reese have a connection that leaps off the page, you will be sucked into them and become a part of their story. Possibly my favourite of this collection and that’s saying something.
Love in Lingerie – a spark filled read that will burn itself into your heart. This won’t be for everyone as I know lots of people will have issues with the way the characters behave, there is so much passion in this story that doesn’t always come off, but overall very steamy and if you keep going you will get what you need in the end. The main characters are flawed and real, not what you usually get in the romance novel, but it can be what you get in life.

Written by best selling authors who will make you stand up and cheer. You HAVE to read these stories!
❤️
Never Let Go is a collection of four best-selling novels including:
A Love Letter to Whiskey by Kandi Steiner
Sloth by Ella JamesTeardrop
Shot by Tijan
Love in Lingerie by Alessandra Torre
❤️
The latest collection gives the readers swoon worthy reads that readers will love and won’t be able to put down! Here is my review of Love in Lingerie from the collection by Alessandra Torre.
❤️

This is my first book by the author and she blew me away!! Seriously I started it and couldn’t stop reading! I literately read it all night until my eyes were burning from the struggle to continue. However so worth it!! The push and pull of Kate and Trey the chemistry between them was electrifying and so palpable that you could see it and yet so close but so far away!! Kate goes to work for Trey as his creative director and he makes one thing clear that there will be no employee fraternization because they can both feel the desire during the interview but that slams it shut. You get to witness the struggle they both endure around each other. They are able to do their job and maintain just a working relationship but only hanging by a thread that seems to unravel a little more as time passes.
❤️
Overall I was in love with this book I had to devour each word I needed answers would they ever give in or would they remain nothing but friends. Definitely recommend to others looking for a romance that gives you the push and pull between the characters!
