The book is a bit predictable, especially as far as Eli's roommates are concerned. But there were also twists that I didn't expect. It was definitely too short and I'm looking forward to the next volume.

So below is MY thoughts and feelings regarding the characters and plot
******mild spoilers regarding the guys****
FMC:
Remi- I did not like her, she around 20/21 but theres something about her that i couldnt click with.
Guys:
Eli- Jock and campus playboy
Ethan- not alot of info on him as of yet
Beckett-Twin One, not alot of info on him as of yet
Dyaln-Twin Two, not alot of info on him as of yet
Relationship:
Slow burn
Currently dating one of the guys
Friends:
Alex, her best friend( female) but only best friend for the sake of having another female character.
Adam- wants to get in her pants
Plot:
The writing was a bit weird for me, and i just couldnt get into the book. I ended up skimming most of the book which sucksssss. There was over explanation of the most mundane things which probably added to the reason for me skimming.
I could see how people might love this book but its not for me.
I do like that fact that its slow burn as we can get to know the males at a decent pace, but then again i really dont care about anyone in this book.

I was actually disappointed. I thought the book would be more. Basically in a span of 2 months you meet Remi and she is a college student that took a gap year because of personal reason regarding her family. Then you meet Eli and Adam. Adam gets friend zone ... but I don’t think he will stay there.
But why I’m frustrated is because of this. Between Remi and Eli they did this dance for the MAJORITY of the book of should we should we not, I’ll play hard to get and let her chase me, etc. It was really annoying.
Then throughout the book Remi has secrets and pasts regrets that she hasn’t let go and she hints throughout the book until they literally came through the door at 5 am!
Surprise! But instead of staying and handling or communicate with said past, she packs up her stuff and leaves and heads over to her best friend’s dorm. (1. Remi is staying with Eli at nice building due to a flooding in her dorm. -> which I don’t think accidental, maybe it was done of purpose... a theory. 2) Alex was probably my favorite character because she gave mature logical advice!!)
So... I don’t think I will be reading onto book 2, just my opinion.

Got this book for free on stuff your Kindle day. Considered DNFing, but wanted to see how the plot played out. This author was not a girl’s girl, and it was so disheartening to read the words “annoying females” when talking about girls having a crush on a hot football player. Constantly, things are being shit on for “being girly.” I’m also going to assume she is an author writing (for the most part) American characters despite not being American because I have not heard some of the phrases she uses before, even in some dialogue.
The dialogue also drags on in many parts, which is weird considering the characters have awful communication and go from zero to sixty when it comes to jealousy.
The book was in fast forward mode the whole time, and it felt like very little was actually happening despite that. And I've never read characters' names being spoken aloud in such short interactions before. To me, the writing felt clumsy.
Knowing me, I'll still keep reading the series.

The main character has internalised misogyny. She keeps putting other girls down for doing “girly” things and then attributing it to them wanting to be “pre-stepford wife” whatever that means. So much jealousy on her behalf towards other women, such a sad life she lives. I’m tired of this trope where women hate women simply for breathing. The author always makes other women seem evil and bitchy. The author really desperately needs a self reflection. It’ll be nice to see for once a MC who is not a complete cow towards other women.

This was my first book I have read by this author.. I LOVED IT. This is going to be the prefer Rh! I love Remington. I also like how we can little pieces of her past throughout the book instead of in large chunks. It was something different. I cannot wait for the next book!

Confusing
I read till 39% and couldn’t read anymore.
I feel like the way it was written just didn’t work. Many parts were just too confusing . If it was rewritten it would be great, the storyline is there.

Hmmmm... this whole thing is a bit difficult to really rate. On the one hand, I did want to finish it and I do want to read the next book. On the other hand, I don't like the cover. I don't like the confusing prologue. I don't like the whole overdone "none of us will communicate what we are actually thinking and so therefore the drama will now be ramped up" trope.
I also try to suspend my disbelief when reading, but that is because I usually read fantasy. This was contemporary romance. I expect some unbelievable things to happen in contemporary romances, because ROMANCE. Still, this was all just a little too much to accept.
But I plan to read the next book, so I can't rate this one too lowly.

I really enjoyed Echoes. I was looking for something on the sweeter side and since I've enjoyed other books by Emma Cole I gave it a shot. It's exactly what I was looking for. There's typical college chaos, but the story is more focused on what happens outside of school more than on the school aspect. Eli is a sweetheart and I am super excited to see how Remi and the other guys reunion plays out! If you're looking for a RH on the sweeter side, with some mystery and fun twists along the way this is the book for you! 🖤

Hooked from the beginning
Where to even begin...this book sucked me in the from beginning. So much so that I devoured it in one day during my breaks and lunch at work. Emma is able to weave multiple viewpoints effortlessly to bring the characters to life. I especially liked the teaser at the beginning, hinting at more to the story. I’ll be honest that at first it didn’t make much sense to me, but as the story progressed it becomes more clear why those snippets are so important. I’m also really interested to find out more about certain side characters who seem to have not so great intentions after getting to the end of the book. I’ll definitely be pre-ordering book 2 as soon as it is available.

I started this book in the early morning, and ended up neglecting my children for hours because of it. I literally could not put the book down. This is the first book I have read by Emma Cole, but it will not be the last. She sucked me in with the mystery of Remi's past, paired it with a bit of corny humor, and added some seriously steamy scenes. I thoroughly enjoyed the realistic timeline and build up between the love interests and the development of the characters. I'll be patiently waiting for the next release of this series.

Great read from first time author. Interesting characters and an intriguing storyline that you know is going to explode into more. cant wait to see what happens in the second book

I enjoyed it..?
Ok there is a hard question mark at the end of my “I enjoyed it…?” Statement. I’ll give it 3.5 stars but bump it up to 4 because I will continue on to book 2.
It had an acceptable plot, a fairly good mystery and a great back bone moment with Bricker where Remi gives great attitude that slightly redeemed her otherwise wishy-washy personality. However, that was all buried under a lot of terrible internal ramblings that continued to change every page, a very basic, boring interaction with the obligatory “mean girl”, And a lot of unnecessary emotional flip flopping during conversations.
The conversations came across very sterile and need to be reworked so they don’t seem so forced and a whole lot of fun needs to be pumped into this book! Every interaction seemed like really bad drama school acting and the lines were being delivered with no soul.
The mystery of Adam and the disappearance is enough to keep me reading the remaining books in the series and I hope the development gets better!!

Ehhh
Firstly, this book is definitely intriguing. I'm definitely continuing this series for now.
First issue is the editing. Needs work.
Second issue is the dialog. College kids don't sound like these people. Sometimes the speech is stuffy and robotic.
Third issue is the female lead. Remi's character is stunted. I believe she comes off as strange because the author didn't want to reveal any future plot points in regards to Remi's past. She was also not very kind to Eli. Pretty hateful sometimes and it was off-putting.
Last issue is the beginning of the book where Remi is describing herself and other women. There are hints of body shaming and I hate that. Also, she did the whole thinly veiled 'I'm not like other girls' bit. I would just like to point out that women are allowed to not enjoy things without belittling women who DO like those things.
I think this author has some serious potential to make this series something fresh compared to what we've seen before. I'm excited to meet the new guys and get a better read on Adam.

Echoes and Entanglements is the first book in this series and my first read from the author. As the first one, this story lays out some foundation for its succeeding books by showing us a bit of backstory of our FMC, Remi, a young college girl who got her heart broken twice, added to that the sudden disappearance of her father from her life, she never trusts easily again. Until Eli came into the picture.
With the way the story ends in a big revelation, it is safe to say that I'm dying to know the boys' stories and what is Adam's role in this. He is a mystery to me and I'm keeping my eyes on him. This has been an enjoyable read with a bit of steam. Looking forward to reading book 2.

Surprising, sweet, romantic with a bit of attitude
Remington Carter had it all. She’s independent, beautiful, nice, but can hold herself up if she needs to. This story surprised me from the very beginning. I have not read a contemporary RH before and I’d have to say, I like it. It’s very well written. You’re given enough back story and progressed enough with the new characters before bringing in the old ones. The best part in this whole book is when you thought it’s about to end, it kept going for more. Even though the ending leaves you wanting more, it’s satisfying at the same time. Definitely can’t wait to read more.

I loved this book. Remi is a tough character that didn't have the easiest life, especially in her love life. Eli is amazing and the sweetest guy to have popped into her life. You find little clues and snippets about her past and I just love the mystery around her character. This book was amazing. I read it in one seating and I can't wait for more. This is a slow burn RH and I need the next book. I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a new contemporary RH story. Warning: there is a cliffhanger.

I admit I was confused by the first couple of chapters of this book. It may have just been me but I was confused as to the time line and the people involved. Once those chapters passed the book was excellent. The characters were interesting and it was a good read. Then came the ending which was a bit abrupt. It was like driving a stick shift hard to get started but once you are going bang stop sign. Again this is just my opinion so you may love this book but I found it to be just okay.

Overall, I liked the book, but it didn’t really grab my attention until about 8 chapters in. I like the premise (and the promise of RH) so I stuck it out. I had a similar experience reading B.L. Brunnemer’s Veil Diaries Book 1 (a series I now LOVE). Echoes and Entanglements promises a similar setup, and I’m pretty excited to see where the story goes. Remi is feisty, just how I like my Female Main Characters. I’m reserving judgement on the men in the story so I’m not giving anything away on them. You will just have to see for yourselves (or read for yourselves) as it is a pretty quick read.

Great start to an RH series
This story has it all. A strange unknown past, a strong yet vulnerable FMC a beautiful budding relationship and a load of hot boys! I enjoyed the relationships developments and having the build up with a possibility of adding an extra. This group aren't already formed as a brotherhood properly so it will be really interesting to see how they deal with this in later books. Recommended for anyone who wants a romance with some good twists. Looking forward to the next!

3 reluctant stars
Not sure where to begin. It needed editing so badly. The punctuation, oh, man. It was confusing at times, as if pieces of the story had been chopped and pasted. The heroine was "special" but really, what was so special about her? It was everything I normally hate in a story like this, but for some reason still liked!? How crazy is that, and I don't even really know why. I liked the MC in the beginning so maybe that paired with the unfolding of the story kept me hooked. Who knows. Jeez, it does not deserve it but 3 stars is what I'm giving it.

I read this book as part of a reading challenge in a book group I belong to , and I really liked it.
It started off a little slow for me, but I can respect that the author was building the characters and the world they live in.
It finally hooked me about 1/2 way through and ended in such a way I am interested in continuing to read the series, although I may have issues with a few of the characters being closely named. Sometime I get the names confused with the characters.

the dialogue is terrible. no one talks like that. especially a college student and the writing needs so much editing. what really got me to dnf was ch 4. there’s no chemistry between remi and eli and all the sudden they fight in chapter 3 and with no resolution they’re okay and hanging out again but it’s written in a way that feels like a montage. i want more details. there’s no tension and remi feels like a pick me. she barely has even interacted with other girls yet and yet every single one she has put down for being girly. no thank you.

This is the first book by Emma that I got the pleasure to read and I could not put it down it sucked me in from the very beginning! I can not wait for the next book to see what is in store for Remington and her guys. Will they resolve all the things from their past will we find out what all happened between them? Will Eli be able to help bring them back together? So many questions I need the next book!!
