Freckly Feet and Itchy Knees is a poem about different body parts, from our nose, to our hands, to our bellies, to our 'knobbly' knees. Michael Rosen takes a wacky approach of these various body parts- “Eyes for Snopping, Eyes for Spying, Eyes for Laughing, Eyes for Crying.” Accompanying these crazy verses are engaging illustrations, by Sami Sweten, which contributes to the entertaining factor of the book.

Freckly Feet and Itchy Knees was one of my favourite poetry books when I was at school and to read it again now, still makes me smile and brings back the memories I got at school whilst reading it. I love the way you can relate to the imaginative words he uses to describe different the body parts. I could read this poetry book over and over again without getting bored. Michael Rosen is a genius!

An appropriate age range for this book would be between 6-8 years old. It would be a fantastic book to read if you were learning about ‘ourselves’ or ‘your body’. It will appeal to young minds and would also give them a fun filled poetry lesson, keeping them amused and interested. It also introduces new vocabulary for describing different body parts which may help when they do their creative writing. "Feet for climbing, feet for sliding, feet for dancing, feet for hididng."

I love this poetry book, it is so fun to read. the first page is my favourite with noses in hankies noses in books noses in crannies noses in nooks. The illustrations are really sweet and child would love this read to them over and over.

Poppy says it is a really happy story because they said UNDERWEAR in it!!
Alfie says its really good.
Phee says it was funny when they said all the funny words like, blinking eyes. I was so good I laughed out loud!
