From USA Today Bestselling Author Lauren Rowe comes an all new, Standalone Friends to Lovers Romance.

I met Alessandra at a party. Tried to impress her. Was almost positive I was going to fail.

I think I said something along the lines of, “I’m a Goat called Fish who’s hung like a bull—but not really. I’m actually pretty average.” Smooth. I know. Try not to be jealous.

When she laughed—and I mean, really laughed—I knew she wasn’t like the other girls I’d been meeting on tour. Hell, she wasn’t even in the same stratosphere as those fangirls and gold-diggers.

At one point during the party, Alessandra said, “There’s nothing like a girl’s first love.” I knew she was talking about the first smash hit by my band, 22 Goats. Alessandra said it was the first song she’d heard by us and it “hit her like a ton of bricks.” Ironic, seeing as how I was having the same reaction from being in her presence.

I made it my mission to impress her. Give her the kiss of a lifetime that night. But since I’ve always been the dude with zero game, nothing went according to plan.

I’m not giving up, though. I’m going to win this girl over. I’m done sitting on the sidelines, watching the bad boy getting the girl. This time, the nice guy will finish first. Even if it’s the last thing he’ll do.

You’re my first, my last, my best, my only.

This might be the sweetest book I've ever read. Fish is the most adorable and swoony hero and I loved Alessandra as well. Lauren Rowe is quickly becoming a favorite author of mine and I'm on my way to catching up on her back list. I was so smitten with this couple and loved this book. If you're looking for a low drama, sweet and fun read, check out Smitten.

Book: Smitten
Author: Lauren Rowe
Type: Standalone
POV: First Person - Dual
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Rating: 4 Stars!

Age: Alessandra - 19; Fish- 25.

Oh, God, I feel high when I talk to this adorable girl. She’s better than the finest weed. The best tequila. She’s the scent of flowers in human form. She’s the sound of the ocean. She’s music.

'Smitten' is my first read from Lauren Rowe and it was just... gah! SO ADORABLE. Smitten as a title just doesn’t encompass how genuine and precious this book was. This book was a ton of fun with lots of awkward moments that will have you laughing out loud one moment and then falling head over heels the very next. It also had a coming of age vibe to it. It’s about finding oneself and discovering who they are meant to be. Having the courage to stand up for yourself no matter how afraid you are. Both Fish and Ally made me heart melt. They were both so cute and awkward and adorable.

You’re my first, my last, my best, my only . . . love.

There was a reason why I picked this book. And it was the blurb. It was so catchy and entertaining. Matthew Fishberger was a change I didn't know I needed. I did find this a bit slow at the beginning but after pealing the layers of Ally and Fish's personalities, I fell in love with them (individually and as a couple). The writing and plot were both engaging and made me want to read all her books. A lot of second hand embarrassment gore and a lot of feel good moments too, made this memorable and unforgettable.

All my life
Been looking low and high
Aching to find
The ones to call my tribe

But now I know
People like us, baby
There’s no group
People like us

There’s only two
We’re a tribe of two, baby
It’s just me and you
Starting now

It’s you and me
Against the world
‘Cause ‘people like us’
There’s only me and you

If you're looking for something fun, light and enjoyable, definitely give this a try. Lauren Rowe is an author to look out for.

I’m drowning in honey this book was so freaking sweet 😍

--

Two of my most anticipated reads came out this month – this book and Hands Down by Mariana Zapata.

This is a spin-off standalone of both the Morgan Brothers series and the Reed Rivers Trilogy. I do think there is something to be said about reading those first, but you can absolutely read this on its own. It’s about the guitarist of an up-and-coming band who isn’t your typical rock star. He’s very down-to-earth and not drop-dead gorgeous. The heroine is very shy and introvert and she’s also a talented musician.

This book was as sweet as honey and it made me so giddy reading it. It’s absolutely perfect for those of you who need an easy-to-read pick-me-up in the middle of this global pandemic and uncertainty. It’s super low-angst and will absolutely fly by. I challenge you not to have a smile on your face the entire time you read this.

I’ve been listening to the song (that is in the book!) on repeat. It’s so catchy and sweet and if I could describe the book in one song it’d be this one.

I love this book! It's funny and sweet, and Fish is such a nice guy. Ally is adorable as the star-struck fan meeting her rock god--it's written so realistically, I was just rooting for them both the whole way through... Hot, sweet, swoony, and full of music. It's the perfect book you need in your life right now!

Smitten is cheesy goodness and mix it with honey. The story is so cheesy. I found myself gigle at the first 30% then cringe with tingle. The conversation is just so cheesy and ridiculous in some part. I think Miss Rowe tried to put comedy together with cheesy romance. I am not sure it works for me.

I like Matthew Fish. I never like Fish like Matthew. His banter with Alessandro is fun and lively at the beginning. Then when the relationship turns into romance, their chemistry becomes... again... cheesy. At the end I have mix feeling toward this book. I do not like it nor hate it either. I wish the story, characters have more depth.

“It’s official. Matthew Fishberger is a swoon factory. A smoke show. A stone-cold fox.”

What a sweet, swoony, adorably sexy romance this was. This is exactly what I needed right now to nurse some of the ache in my heart. What the world needs now is love. I appreciate that this was nothing dramatic or over the top, just a light feathery flutter on your cheek that makes you reach out and touch where it’s been and smile at the remembrance of it.

Matthew & Allessandra are my babies! Their love was so pure and genuine. Truly love at first sight and forever. Lauren handled the virgin/first kiss trope very well, and can I just say how refreshing this was to read! Matty made my heart melt. He is exactly my type of hero. He has all the qualities that I’ve always loved in a guy, and happened to marry exactly that type. He brings a good balance to rockstar trio, 22 Goats. I Love the deep friendship and brotherhood between Dax, Colin & Fish. Lauren has a certain way that she writes her guys, and their personalities that make my heart flutter. He was the perfect hero of the story, and so different from all the other guys.

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to go and reread all the other books in this world because I miss them all. From the moment I started reading Smitten I felt like I was home. Lauren has created these characters that I miss and crave to be around when I not reading them. As soon as I start a book by LR I get that warm fuzzy sock feeling. Every. Single. Time.

The verbiage in which she uses between her characters is what truly sets Lauren Rowe a part from everyone else. It’s definitely a gift!!

I can't believe it has taken me this long to read this book, but I finally got to it and I'm so happy I did!

This was so sugary sweet. Ally and Fish are very sweet and wholesome together. This story is incredibly low angst, and if you need a feel-good, pick me up, then this story might work really well for you.

I think at the end of the day, I wanted a little bit more from this story. I believe at this point I have read 14 of Lauren Rowe's books, and my favorite part of her stories is usually the banter. Typically, her stories revolve around a more bruting, alpha male hero, which lends itself well to strong banter and a certain push and pull between the two characters. However, Fish is not that type of hero at all. He is sweet and wholesome, which is lovely, but I felt like we were missing that banter and chemistry that I usually love.

I have a couple of Lauren Rowe books still to get to and I can't wait to make my way through her entire backlist!

ARC provided to me by author in exchange for an honest review

Talk about a swoon worthy leading man.

I loved Fish so hard. Then again I knew I would. Every story that he's been in with the Morgan family and Reed Rivers before this has given me the feeling that I'd love him. This book just confirmed it. And I don't think there was a more perfect person for him then Alessandra.

One of the things that I truly love about Lauren Rowe and her writing is that the chemistry between the leading characters seems so genuine. Even when the characters themselves are very different.

Fish and Alessandra were definitely a softer, sweeter couple then others she's written. But the feeling I got while reading their story and the chemistry they had was similar.

The plot was excellent, and the writing itself was definitely perfection. But as usual I fell in love with the characters and was invested in them.

Smitten is definitely a not to be missed book by this fantastic author.

Not your typical rockstar romance...so much more! This was such a sweet, first love romance between an unassuming rockstar and a shy musical student. They will muddle their way through all her firsts, as they navigate a life together. All the fireflies will be fluttering in your belly because this romance was SWOONY!

Fish is the comic relief in his friend group. He’s also an incredibly talented musician, song writer and producer. He may be a rockstar in one of the most popular bands, but he is humble and kind. All he wants is to find a girl to love him for who he is, without the money and fame. Someone who wants the awkward guy with zero game.

Never did Ally imagine meeting her favorite bass player at a party. Spending the evening chatting, was beyond her wildest dream. She always fan-girled over Fish, but now that they have a connection, she’s smitten.

Fish sees Ally and he’s on a mission to get the girl. He finally has his chance to go after a relationship, like the one’s his friend’s share with their loved ones. He’s going to pull out all the stops. This man may have been a novice, but his romance game will sweep you off your feet.

This story was so refreshing. No huge drama, but a whole lot of love. The characters put their hearts on the line, and don’t hold back. Their honesty leads to sweet and funny moments that I thoroughly enjoyed. This was not a picture perfect romance. They showcase their flaws and it makes you love them even more. Their naivety is incredibly endearing.

An enjoyable read that had me smiling, laughing and falling hard for these characters. All the cliches of rockstars were left behind, this was a good guy romance with a lot of heart. The perfect anytime read that will make your heart happy.

Juvenile writing.
H/h and their friends talked like a bunch of highschool kids although most of them were older than twenty five (the H).

Also, the mc just met but spend the majority of the book in a long distance relationship. Talking in the phone.

Both reasons were a mood killer for me.

This book was really sweet and cute. I loved both main characters. Especially Ally surprised me, because at the beginning her character seemed to be shy and meek but she wasn’t. She just needed some adjustment time.

The side characters were great too, especially Dax. He was a good friend of Fish and knew him very well.

I can recommend this book, also because I really feared that the pretty normal romance pattern will be used, where the couple gets into a fight and breaks up only to end up with a HEA. This pattern wasn’t here and it wouldn’t have worked for this story too. After reading some other books, I will return to the other standalone books for the Goats.

I've been waiting so patiently for the real deal on Matthew 'Fish' Fishberger? He's Fish, Fish Taco, Fishy- Wishy (my personal fav!), or any one of the inventive nicknames his bandmates, friends and adopted brother from another mother's family calls him on any given day. Moments with the Morgans and their familial extensions once again had me laughing myself silly with the crazy, super witty banter that they lovingly bestow on the 'ones they love most', who are fortunate enough to spend time in the circle of their warm embrace.

Fish, one those 3 chart topping Goats, finally takes the well deserved spotlight in his own story after spending so much time on the sidelines, lonely in his own head, sometimes caught in the past where he is still that skinny, awkward teen who had no game with the ladies. All most girls seemed to want was to use him to get closer to Dax and Colin, his best friends and 22 Goats bandmates. He, it seems, was the consolation, rather than the prize in most situations he's experienced.

Then came the unexpected- Allesandra, Georgie's sister and best friend. What a breath of fresh air she was- geeky, like him, awkward, also like him. Shy, musically gifted and beautiful, although she didn't know it and in one night, she also became eveything he wanted but never hoped to dream for.

O.M.G.!!! The sweet, perfection of these two together was building up to some really hot, sexy and smoldering moments that couldn't have happened in the same exact way with anyone but them. The killer advice asked for and given by those more experienced (cough!) Morgans were priceless, as almost anything they could say would be! Doesn't everyone who reads Lauren Rowe's books wish they were honorary Morgans??? I adored how they took Fish under the collective wing of their love and friendship, to ensure he succeeded at wooing his lovely, innocent and irresistible girl! Just a few of the swoonworthy, tender and beautiful parts of this story that will make you believe in the power of love at 1st sight..really, I'm a believer!

Fish has sold himself short in the past but Allesandra 'sees him' as he truly is and knew who he always was underneath it all. Within his love and warmth, she blossoms, shines and sparkles as her own confidence grows.

While Fish and Alessandra stole the show, I was wowed by the many larger than life characters who showed up for this party! Such a fun treat! I am now thoroughly Smitten too, bitten by the love bug that was the endearing, H.O.T and super sexy tale of their true, wonderful love! How sweet it absolutely was for these two 'meant for each other' soulmates!

I hope the glimpes of Colin's underlying thread means that LR has decided that his story must be next. More Fish, more Dax and certainly more of those Morgans, are bound to be part of it, which would be something I can behind, once again putting another Lauren Rowe book on my 'waiting patiently' list! Bring on the Whitie Tighties!

Smitten is the perfect title for this stand-alone, kismet, young adult romance. I challenge anyone to read this book and not fall in love with Allesandra Tennison and Matthew Fishberger, aka, Fish. I had goose bumps all over and my cheeks hurt from smiling for four hours straight devouring this beautifully written romance. It’s filled with humor, humility, friendship, family, and lots and lots of wonderful music! You’ll be tapping your toes a time or two when you read it and humming along when you listen to their original music on You Tube!

We met Fish in several of Lauren’s previous books as he is a member of the internationally famous 22 Goats rock band, and Allesandra, Ally, in the Liar series, as she is Georgina’s step-sister. Georgina is engaged to Reed Rivers, the owner of River Records who manages several bands and solo artists including the Goats. Ally attends Berkley and is musically gifted as she writes her own music, sings, and plays several instruments. She’s awkward and shy, and can’t help but squeal with delight when meeting Fish, her favorite Goat, for the first time.

She has a close relationship with her sister, and while young and a bit green in the business world, really impressed me with her intelligence and ambition, as well as her quirky nature and kind pure heart.

She and Fish are two peas in a pod. He’s vulnerable and honest, and even though he’s a successful musician, he’s down-to-earth, unpretentious, and humble...just a man looking for his penguin. He couldn’t be more sweet or smitten when he first met Ally, and it warmed my heart how they built each other up with their sincere encouragement and sense of humor. They were so relatable and I couldn’t love them any more.

There is no truer definition of soul mates than Ally and Fish. They had so much in common, and genuinely enjoyed each other’s company. From day one, they were all in, with the selfless goal to make the other happy. It wasn’t always smooth sailing for these two, as they had to navigate their new relationship with her attending college while signing a music deal, and his professional tour schedule and other obligations, but they made each other a priority, never forgot their roots, had honest and open communication, and remained best friends as well as smokin’ hot lovers through it all.

I loved all of their interactions with their friends and family who made many appearances thoughout this book, and especially loved when they realigned their career goals to change with the times, all the while remaining true to who they really are. Bravo.

It truly was a delight to read every page and books like Smitten by one of my favorite authors, Lauren Rowe, are the reason I read romance. It made me feel good from my head to my toes, the way a forever love should feel.

Swoon worthy, heart fluttering delight is the only way to describe this book. Smitten is a charming, light-hearted, beautiful love story. Fish and Alessandra are the kind of people we need more of in this world, especially in light of current times. They are wholesome, but perfectly romantic and sexy all at the same time.

Fish is adorably awkward, yet confident, charming, and very sexy too. Fish is the ultimate nice guy that every girl secretly hopes they meet some day. Alessandra is shy, sweet, and just waiting to burst out of her shell. The way they encourage and uplift each other is truly relationship goals. Their bond through their music, their shyness, their genuine goodness, and their love for each other will give you a serious case of heart clutching swooning.

This book is so special and words cannot describe the overwhelming feeling of goodness that will take over your mind and body when you read it. It is a story of two people who lift each other up, complete each other, bring out the best in each other, and show each other that they are both worthy of the love they each deserve. Smitten reminds you that in a world full of rocky relationships and the uncertainties of life, true love is still a beacon of hope that can shine through it all.

Read this book ASAP because we could all use a dose of happiness and feel good emotions in our lives. Lauren Rowe just might be the hero we all need right now. ❤

True Love is when your heart and your mind are saying the same thing...

First Love can still be real love. Fish and Alessandra's love for each other brought back fond memories of my first love. That feeling of excitement when you see each other. Every girl and woman deserves a guy who looks at her everyday like it's the first time he saw her. That is Fish.

Fish does not have a reputation of being a lady killer but that just makes him all that much sexier. He is definitely a sweet talker but only to Alessandra. She has bewitched Fish and he is captivated by her. Alessandra has had a huge obsession with 22 Goats in what seems like forever. She is shocked and intimidated by Fish at first, but is pleasantly surprised to find out how down to earth he is. I mean after all he is a Rock God.

Their story captured my heart. Lauren Rowe has created a first love experience that is sexy, funny, cute but also loving and tender that will leave you feeling joyful and inspired.

This book was so fucking adorable!! I don't mean that in a passive aggressive way either -- I was legitimately smiling and felt giddy the entire time I was reading. I felt all the butterflies -- err, I should say fireflies -- that you feel when you first fall in love. I'm officially SMITTEN!!😍😍

I've read everything that Lauren has written, so I've really seen Fish (aka Matthew) grow into his own through every book he's been a part of. What used to be a skinny, self conscious guy is now a full blown smolder, sensitive, swoony HOTTIE. Does he see himself like that? No. But his love, Alessandra makes him believe it. This dude has swagger and confidence -- he's a full blown rockstar, but he's content to say out of the spotlight that Daxy and Colin are in .. He loves what his career has given him but he yearns to have what everyone else around him has: true, unyielding, passionate love. He feels like because he's the 'average' dude that he won't be able to find it. When he does seek women out he feels it that they aren't present for *him* but rather what his stardom conveys, and that makes him all there eager to find his soulmate. And man, does he ever.

Alessandra is Georgie's stepsister, and if you've read the Reed Rivers trilogy, you know that Reed gave some unfavorable advise which ultimately makes her grow and shoots her to stardom. What I love is that we get to meet Fish and Alessandra before that moment with Reed takes place. Ally is a huge fan of Fish's band, and has always felt that he is the heart and soul of the band, and truly connects with Fish in the way he's always dreamed about. At the start Ally is a little awkward, but everything is so real and genuine between the two of them! They had the best conversations, and the chemistry and adoration for one another was clearly present from the start. These two were just so fucking amazing!!

I really adored that even though Fish had more experience sexually than Ally, they were each other's true firsts in every way that mattered. It's like their souls just *knew* they were meant for each other, and ever since they met they were always connected with one another.

I also loved how little angst there was to this book. There was no big misunderstanding or heartbreak, it was just two people who were so in love with one another overcoming every hurdle that was in their way and coming out the other side even MORE in love than before. This was just a beautiful, honest, rare, wonderful romance that made me just feel so undeniably happy!

Plus the entire gang was here!! All the lovely Morgan's and their significant others and kids, Georgie and Reed (whom I loved seeing the 'softer' side of!!) Colin, and all the other amazing artists that are apart of Reed's Midas touch. You really feel like you're part of this entire family and I LOVE that so much.

And let's talk about that epilogue for a minute! No spoilers of course, but that was fucking EPIC!!! It also left the possibility for a LOT more books from this amazing author, which in all here for!

Do yourselves a favor and one click this book as soon as it comes out! You will see why I'm so smitten!😊

**I received an ARC of this book and these are my honest opinions!**

And how could I leave you without an adorable quote from our Fishy?! Cue all the feels!

"I've had some amazing moments in my life, especially these past few years. Getting signed to River Records. Opening for Red Card Riot. Song after song miraculously hitting number one. Getting to witness tens of thousands of people singing along to songs I've helped create. I've been to award shows. Experienced all my childhood dreams come true. But this moment beats them all. I'm in love with this girl. And the best part is I've got no doubt she's in love with me, too."

**Review of the audiobook**

STORY
I’ve read every book in the Morgan Brothers and Reed Rivers series, so I‘d already met Fish and was eager to know more about him. I knew he was a likable guy, but I had not expected him to be such an interesting, entertaining character!!! And Georgie‘s half sister, Alessandra, is just as fabulous. Although they’re both really genuine, good-natured, big hearted people, they’re also tons of fun and super sexy!!!

I think this is the first adult book I’ve ever read that doesn’t have ANY sort of angst or drama! Usually that would be boring or feel too sugary sweet for me, but not when Lauren Rowe is at the helm!! Not reading about unnecessary or unrealistic drama was awesome for a change! I swooned, squirmed and I laughed out loud! Aside I from one scene being repeated, (two different characters said the exact same thing), this book is impeccably well written - a perfect example of how talented Rowe is!

PERFORMANCE
I listened to the Audible audiobook narrated by Andi Arndt and Tim Paige. Aside from mispronouncing the word LASCIVIOUS, Paige‘s performance was flawless from start to finish. I’ve listened to Arndt narrate many, many books, and she never disappoints. Because I’m familiar with her, it was obvious to me that she tried to change her voice while reading for Alessandra, making her tone a bit higher, resulting in her sounding more upbeat and peppy. She did this consistently during the first 80% of the book, yet during the last 20% or so she spoke in her usual voice.

This was an extra special performance since both narrators sang! What a awesome surprise, a real treat! Hearing them sing the songs being written made the characters feel even more realistic!

HOW have I not reviewed this on Goodreads? Ugh I am the worst. I have read this book… so many times. Like constantly flipping back through it to re-read it, it’s highlighted to heck, I bought a book box to get a SPECIAL EDITION COVER. (Click here to see the cover)

If you are looking for a low angst, super sweet first love, musician romance with no jealousy… look no further!! This is available on Kindle Unlimited aaaaand Lauren wrote/recorded songs so you can LISTEN as you read (they are linked within the ebook).

Fish is the bassist for 22 Goats, a band we originally met in Rockstar, which follows the bands lead singer. Years after they’ve blown up Fish still feels like the awkward guy he always was… but now girls throw themselves at him because he’s famous. Just because he’s famous.

Until he meets Alessandra. She’s the shy sister of a journalist interviewing them and they immediately bond over a love of music. She’s a music student and huge 22 Goats fan and although they live across the country from one another, they keep talking and fall in love.

This definitely isn’t a super steamy book. Alessandra is a virgin and Fish isn’t super experiences past one night stands, but holy crap - this book is SWEET. Like, peanut M&M’s personified. My biggest “yuck” about musician romances is plots of jealousy and groupies and those are no where to be found. Fish and Aly are honest with one another, optimistic, and just plain in love.

I have like 100 highlights from this book just read it okay??

OMGoodness!! I loved this story so much! It was sweet and swoony and quirky and I’m pretty sure I smiled the whole way through! What an appropriate title, smitten indeed!

Matthew Fishberger is FISHaLICIOUS! I want a Fish like him for my very own.

Shy rock star bassist meets adorkable music student, and their interactions couldn’t have been any cuter!

Sparks galore, they were flying everywhere. Their attraction was immediate and strong and the way they secretly crushed on each other was so freakin’ adorable! The way their friendship gradually got stronger and more open and…waaaay sexier was so delightfully charming and heartwarming. The video chats…heart eyes.

I loved Fish & Ally so much!
They stole my heart.

When I wasn’t swooning, I was smiling.
When I wasn’t smiling, I was giggling.
When I wasn’t giggling, I was tingling.
But the entire time from beginning to end? I WAS ABSOLUTELY SMITTEN.

This well-written story has zero angst, it’s high on the swoons, and it gave me all the warm fuzzy feels!

I am over the moon giddy from this story, the characters, the writing, the sweetness, the swoonyness, the quirkiness, the songs…EVERYTHING! The links within the book you can click on to listen to the songs? Perfect!

If you’re looking a for a feel-good read that will make nothing but happy and smiley and all things good, read this one!

This was my first read by this author…um, WHAT?!
—> That is just crazy and ridiculous and so wrong. And now I want to read ALL THE LAUREN ROWE BOOKS!

Just like the previous book Rockstar, this book also has a couple music videos that are directly from this story content. A vocal of Fish singing a song and a video duet of Fish and Ally singing Smitten. That’s such an awesome way to really bring this story to life.

“You’re my first, my last, my best, my only .”

“We’re two parts of a whole, Ally and me. Meant to be.”

**Synopsis:**
Fish and Alessandra meet at a pool party and seeing as they live on opposite coasts, their instant attraction turns into a long-distance relationship.
The majority of the story is about gaining confidence in different areas of life, all while falling in love.
Alessandra gains confidence in her musical talent and ability to perform in front of others as well as some confidence and experience in the bedroom. Fish gains confidence in his musical contributions and learns what a great catch he really is (no pun intended) 😉

** The following are my thoughts about this book: **

* * No major conflict, nothing deep or complex and bordered on being too sugary sweet.

* * It was a bit boring, but I honestly appreciated the fact that Fish’s story wasn’t wrapped up in drama. He didn't view himself as spectacular, just average, and I’m glad he found someone who didn’t come with drama or baggage. He deserved all this cheesy happiness.

* * Alessandra was quite naïve and inexperienced. I had to keep reminding myself that she was only 19. In today’s world, a 19 year old is not usually so innocent, so in a way it was hard to buy into her character. But, on the flip side I kept thinking, how nice it was to have a character this age who was a young woman trying to navigate life and not willing to give up the V Card to just anyone. She was responsible and making good life choices.

**Overview:**
- Content Warning: none
- Setting: Some time spent on both east and west coasts
- Do you need to read previous books in series?: there are a ton of characters from previous books. This book is far into the series at this point (this is a spin off from the Morgan brothers, of which there were five books. Also, the Reed Rivers trilogy should be read before this, so that adds up to a lot of backstory the reader will not have when reading this book.). So my recommendation would be to read Rockstar, at a minimum, first.
- POV: Dual POV

- Who is the Hero? Matthew Fishberger (aka Fish, Fish Taco, Fish Kabob, Fish Head, Fish Fillet, Fishy-Wishy) (age: 25). Bass player for the rockstar band 22 Goats
* The following words/phrases were used to describe Hero: feels like a third wheel, gullible when it comes to women, likes to just go with the flow, wears his heart on his sleeve, nice guy, humble
* H likable? Yes. It was easy to like the guy who thought of himself as the less attractive, third wheel member of the group.
~ I’m sick of being a third wheel. Sick of going stag to every party. Every school dance when we were teens. Sick of always feeling like the “sidekick” in the movie of our lives, whereas Dax and Colin are so obviously the “leading men.”

- Who is the Heroine? Alessandra Tennison (aka Little Lioness) (age: 19). Alessandra just finished her second year at an extremely prestigious music school in Boston
* The following words/phrases were used to describe Heroine: not good at making small talk, shy, musically talented, positive attitude
* h likable? Yes. There was a naïve quality about her that made her easy to like

- h virgin? Yes. “I’ve just been waiting to feel genuine physical chemistry with someone combined with mutual respect and trust.”
- First time they kiss: 53%
- First time they sleep together: 62%
- First time they say I Love You 57%
- steamy? It was a bit of a slow build to the bedroom scenes (seeing as Alessandra was a virgin), but they were descriptive once they got there
- OW/OM drama? No
- H/h cheat? No
- Time apart? None. They made long-distance work
- Did I skip pages? No
- Big secrets? No
- Did I cry? No
- Did I laugh? Not really
- Did I swoon🥰? Fish’s sweet gestures were easy to swoon over. He was very considerate, sincere and thoughtful
- Cliffhanger? No
- HEA? Yes
- Epilogue? 30 years later
- Recommend? if you are in the mood for zero angst or drama, a story that doesn’t have any action (therefore, a bit boring) and borders on sugary sweet, this might work for you. If you are in the mood for a feel good story with likable characters that don’t play games, genuinely like each other, are honest and have fun together, this is most definitely the book for you.

**Quotes**
“Fuck it, shit happens.” It’s what I always say at times like this—when stupid shit gets me down. It’s the catchphrase I coined in middle school that cleverly turned my lifelong nickname—Fish—into an acronym.”

“There’s just something extra special about him. I love that he’s got boy-next-door charm mixed with a touch of rock star swagger. I think it’s that juxtaposition—his innate humility and normalcy mixed with the unmistakable glow of his stratospheric success—that makes him so damned mesmerizing to me. He seems attainable and relatable, and yet, also like a rock star, all at once.”

“Sadly, though, life isn’t always perfect like that. It turns out I’m a Goat called Fish who’s supposed to be stubborn as a bull, but isn’t.”
She giggles again. This time, even more heartily. “Wow, Fish. Who’s the doctor who delivered you? Doctor Dolittle?”

“I can’t believe how good she makes me feel. How real I am around her. Even when I’m a dork—especially when I’m a dork—she likes me. She gets me.”

“For so long, I got rejected by girls when I showed too much of my true self. So, I guess I got used to hiding that guy, after a while. Pretending to be someone cooler than I was, just to avoid the usual outcome. But, now, out of the blue, I feel safe to be me, with no filter. No faking. If I love a badass song from The Muppets, then I say so. It’s as simple as that. And, to my shock, the more real I get with her, the more that spark between us feels like it’s growing into a forest fire.”
