AUDIO REVIEW:
The second book in Erika Wilde’s latest book is a modern take on the fairytale Cinderella. The narration by Lia Langola was good and added to my enjoyment and listening pleasure.
Having read the first book I was excited to see what she had in store for Hunter Wilder. Hunter is definitely a dominating alpha male who ticked the boxes for me. He is always in control, unemotional and closed off to all but his brother and sister after the death of his parents and fiancée.
Gabriella (Elle) Darien is struggling to run her realty business after her father’s death, not helped by a step mother who is determined to destroy the company.
When he they meet at the ball his family is hosting they both decide to throw caution to the wind and a night of passion brings these two broken people together.
The last thing Elle wants or needs in her hectic life is a relationship and yet there is something about Hunter that tempts her. Leaving the next morning, Hunter decides that is must find her.
I really loved Hunter and Elle, the chemistry between them was all consuming. There was angst, drama, tears and laughter and the scenes between them were hot and spicy. Absolute Pleasure also contains one heck of a plot twist that just added to the enjoyment and kept me on he edge of my seat.

3.5-4 stars. I can't say it's my favourite trope but I liked the story and thought the evil step mother and step sisters added some spice to the plot unlike the first one!

It may have been done before, but never with such panache. Gabriella and Hunter are a new breed of fairy tale. Dark, naughty and emotionally exhilarating. Wilde has found a way to remind mature hearts to let a hint of that beautiful vulnerabilty that we tend to shy away from shine through. Absolute Pleasure is a new beginning for an almost forgotten friend. The presentation may be different, but the message remains just as powerful.

I loved this modern retelling of the classic Cinderella tale. This time around, it's much sexier, much more modern, and Elle is no simpering wallflower. She's a strong woman trying to do right by her family business. And Hunter is no straight-laced Prince, nope, he's a very much possessive alpha male who wants to claim Elle as soon he meets her. If only she'd let him in.
I've been loving the modern day fairy tale series and this one is no exception. It's sexy, it's edgy and suspenseful, and the chemistry between Hunter and Elle is HOT! Keep them coming, Erika!

I really wasn't sure how much I would love Absolute Pleasure as it was a Cinderella retelling, and until now the movie Ever After was my only positive look at Cinderella. Erika Wilde totally and completely blew me away with Absolute Pleasure!
I loved grouchy Hunter Wilder when we first met him, and couldn't wait to meet the woman who in one night pretty much brought him to his knees. Elaina "Elle" Darien was everything I hoped for and more for Hunter. She is so very strong and I loved her for Hunter.
Hunter and Elle had such amazing chemistry. Like OMG smoking hot, steam up my kindle screen chemistry. Hunter is all Alpha and in charge and Elle just seemed to blossom when they were together. I seriously loved Hunter wanted to take care of Elle, yet gave her space if needed.
Elle's step-mother Helena might have been even more evil than the one in Cinderella, and her step-sisters Gwen and Claire honestly didn't seem much better at first. I was so glad when the step-sister I didn't hate came forward to help out Elle when really needed.
Absolute Pleasure was so amazing I literally re-read it as soon as I finished reading it the first time. It hit on all my favorite things in a contemporary romance. I loved both Maddux's and Hunter's stories so much and can't wait to read Tempest's story. Erika Wilde is one of my go-to authors for sexy, hot, emotional romances, and she totally delivered with Absolute Pleasure in the very best way.

I had no idea, until I went to write this review, that Erika Wilde is an alter-ego of Janelle Denison - one of my favourite authors from back in the good ol’ days of Harlequin/Mills & Boon Blaze. That explains why I was drawn to this tale, and very much enjoyed the writing style.
Absolute Pleasure is the second in Ms Wilde’s Dirty Sexy Fairy Tale series, taking its cues roughly from the story of Cinderella. It takes place at roughly the same time (and a little after) the events from the first book, Total Surrender (which is a take on Beauty and the Beast, if you’re interested!). The stories are somewhat interlinked yet still stand completely alone from each other. It does do a good job of making you want to read the first book in the series - and the next, which will be Tempest’s story (No Inhibitions).
This is the story of Hunter and Ella. Having met at a fairy tale ball, Hunter is instantly smitten with the gorgeous Ella - even more so when he hears her being maligned by the wicked stepmother and stepsisters.
I loved Hunter and Ella as a couple. Loved even more the fact that Ella, while delicate in some ways, really was a strong, capable woman. Hunter’s usually a one night and done, kind of guy - so when Ella got the jump on him and said she was done first - I all but cheered! There was definitely chemistry between our pair (and sex, obviously) but I do get a bit peeved when characters talk about how filthy and dirty they are and then don’t really back it up. The sex was hot and steamy - don’t get me wrong. And it’s not that I’m looking for depraved sex in my romances - but there’s no need for characters to go on about how naughty they are when they’re really just the same kind of naughty as all of the rest of us!
The Cinderella aspect of the story is well done, and doesn’t take itself too seriously. It all felt real, rather than a fairytale, and the characters acknowledging the parallels in their story made me smile.
While I really enjoyed the story - Ms Wilde/Denison has a writing style that is inherently readable and engaging - there were a few points that stopped me from giving this story the full 5 stars (other than my annoyance with there not being a proper scale of sexual naughtiness, apparently!). Without giving anything away, I thought the reason for Elle’s sickness was a bit far-fetched. Even more far-fetched was the way that the stepmother/sister storyline was resolved. Perhaps I’m just bloodthirsty but I want people to pay, dammit! I’m also never fond of a hero or heroine whose previous ‘love of their life’ has died. This was a big sticking point for Hunter, in theory, but he sure did bat it away when Elle came on the scene. Folk can be afraid of, or unwilling to do, commitment without having some major issues in their past. Just saying.
But despite all that, as I said, I very much enjoyed this book. I’ve got the first book in the series on my TBR pile and I’m also very much looking forward to the next in the series, too. And now that I know that Erika Wilde is Janelle Denison, I’m also away to search Ms Wilde’s back catalogue to see what I might have missed. 4 very enjoyable stars.

Just when I didn't think Erika Wilde could get any better, any hotter... she proves me sooo wrong by blowing every freaking expectation I had going into this all-new book. Absolute Pleasure was so so addicting and y'all this Dirty Sexy Fairy Tales series has just taken a turn and gotten so. much. damn. hotter. with this newest release.
Absolute Pleasure is the second standalone in this unputdownable series and I'm still swooning, fanning myself after this one and that alpha male I can't quite forget. Hunter (sigh, such a babe!!) and Elle swept me off my feet and kept me captivated from the first moment they landed on my kindle.

> splashes of angst to keep you on the edge of your seat;
> intensity and feels that pours off of every page;
> steamy heat that'll fog up your windows;
> one night that'll change... everything.

I am absolutely loving this series! This one starts off at the Wilder Fairy Ball and is a twist on the Cinderella theme. Hunter rescues Ella who is turned away at the door after her evil step-mother didn't RSVP her on the invitation even though she was invited but she did have the invitation. Hunter just happened to be standing behind her step-mother and step-sisters listening to their snide comments and decided to sweep in and save the day and, at the same time make his evening better. Little did he know they would have such great chemistry. Ella turned out to be just what Hunter needed to shake up his life. Twists and turns and, yea, even literally saving her life makes Hunter the perfect Prince Charming. I cannot wait to see what is in store for the remaining Wilder sibling!

Hunter and Elle are very appealing characters and after spending and one night stand, they can’t forget each other. They’re both afraid to have a relationship and a lot of problems but they’ll will find out that they need each other more than they think.
Extremely sexy and steamy scenes. Hunter is a dominant male that likes to be in charge in the bedroom. He also is very proud and fond of his brother and sister that will tease him and help him with anything he needs. Elle in a modern working girl that needs a night out forgetting all her problems and her horrible family and in a fairy tale ball, she and Hunter’s world will collide.
I like the secondary characters a lot, Maddox and Tempest look pretty cool and their stories are worth reading too.

A retelling of Cinderella, this was an awesome story! The main characters, Hunter and Elle, are so easy to fall for and at the same time, it was so easy to really dislike the secondary characters. You know something is up with the step-mother and step-sisters but I did not see that coming. This whole story kept me turning the pages because I NEEDED to find out what they had done. Towards the end, I ran through all sorts of emotions...anger, disbelief, sadness and finally joy!!!! Loved, loved, loved this story and I'm hoping for maybe a story in the future for one of the secondary characters. What? You think I'm gonna say which one? LOL Think again! Just get the book and read it and you'll see what I'm talking about!!!

I am loving this series. Wilde does a fabulous job of re-creating the fairy tale in a modern day setting that is believable and yet still recognizable as the original tale. Elle and Hunter have an immediate connection to one another. The only criticism I had was that they both seemed to get through their reservations a little too quickly--though I was happy to see it and it felt real, I wanted the story to last a little longer! I was happy that Elle had friends (who weren't animals!) but they could have played a larger role if the story had been expanded. I would like to see Penelope again in her own story. The stepmother and stepsisters were fun to hate and truly felt like reincarnations of the Disney characters! All in all, a quick, fun read. I look forward to reading #3!

I was immediately pulled into Elle and Hunter's story they were such relatable characters if not a little flawed.
Hunter and Elle first meet at a ball but then Elle just disappears. Hunter has never forgotten her.
For Elle it was one night to let loose before she has to work to save her family's company.
When Hunter discovers who Elle actually is he makes it his mission to make her his and when things in Elle's life start to spiral can they work together and find out who his really behind it all?
A dark twist on the fantastic fairytale Cinderella and definitely not one to be missed!

A quick read that moves along at the perfect pace with characters you will certainly fall in love with, it’s a hot and steamy twist on one of the best loved fairytales and it should certainly be on your TBR list. A love story full of emotion with just a hint of mystery make this a great read.

This series has been an exciting awesome twist to old favorites! Brave, Workaholic Elle trying to save her family home and family business from her evil stepmother and two stepsisters, meets hottie Hunter, a man no stranger to tragedy and yet they share a magical night of erotic passion. The next day, he finds her shoe that was left behind in his apartment and is determined to find out who the real Elle is. Cinderella has always been my favorite Fairy tale and Erika Wilde has done a fabulous job with this modern day sexy take of a childhood favorite!

Holy hotness..... this story was nothing short of an explosive, sexy Cinderella fairytale retelling that will have you fanning yourself from the heat between these two characters. Hunter has had his share of tragedy and never wanted to put his heart on the line again, until his eyes landed on Elle. Elle has no time for a serious relationship with all the chaos in her life, until one seductive, charming man entered her life..... Hunter. If a sexy Cinderella story appeals to you, you'll love this one! It even has a horrible step mother and step sisters...I really enjoyed Hunter & Elaina. And the couple of twists in this story really held my interest. Yes, this was a retelling but it had so much more. Along with a satisfying ending.

I loved Hunter and Elle’s amazing story in Absolute Pleasure by Erika Wilde, book two in her Dirty Sexy Fairy Tales Series. After the death of his parents Hunter Wilder no longer believed in happy-ever-afters. The death of Elaina "Elle" Darien’s father left her with a wicked stepmother, and two step-sisters, intent on sabotaging and destroying the business her parents worked so hard to create. Although Elle might be a damsel in distress, she is in no desire of a prince; she doesn’t have the time. Elle’s best friend plays fairy godmother to get her ready for the Wilder’s big blast despite the RSVP being sent in without her name. When Hunter witnesses the cruelty and taunts of Elle’s stepmother, he steps in and makes Elle his date for the night. However, one night will never be enough for Hunter and Elle is too busy trying to save her parent’s real estate business. Elle never deserved the treatment or hatred from her stepmother or step-sisters and has no idea how to turn things around. When Hunter discovers Elle being poisoned by her stepmother he turns into protective mode and is determined that Elle get her parent’s business and take away her step-mother’s power. It will take a lot of trust and belief for these two damaged souls before they are willing to take a chance on finding their fairy tale ending.
Ms. Wilde wrote a wonderful, sexy story; filled with sexual chemistry, fun dialogue, and endearing characters, giving Hunter and Elle a way to be together and get the fairy tale ending neither expected to ever find. So I enjoyed this a lot. I didn't absolutely love it but it was a good read. I don't know how I keep picking up books with a deceased partner but I do and I really don't like that particular element in the books I read. However, it wasn't too bad here and didn't overshadow the story for me or the main character's relationship.
Hunter meets Ella at a ball and they have a spicy night. Hunter wants more but Ella doesn't want to drag any man into her crazy life with her evil step mother and step sisters. The story followed the Cinderella tale with a few tweaks here and there. Hunter has to convince Ella they are worth fighting for. I would say the storyline jumped a little abruptly for me at times and I would have liked a few more love scenes between Hunter and Ella but overall a nice addition to the series.

This is book #2 in the series and Hunter Wilder's story based on a Cinderella theme.
On the night of the Wilder Way charity ball, Hunter overhears a woman and her daughters talking about a woman who was as the door trying to talk her way into the ball. Intrigued by her beauty, Hunter approaches his security person and says that the sexy stranger is his guest. Surprised by the twist of fate, Elaina "Elle" Darien agrees to go with the handsome Hunter Wilder but will only tell him that her name is Elle. Things quickly escalate between Elle and Hunter and the next thing Elle knows she is quickly sneaking out of his apartment early in the morning, even forgetting one of her shoes.
Hunter is pissed. Never has he had a woman ditch him....especially without finding out her whole name or her phone number. Something about Elle has stirred him in ways that haven't happened in a long time. It takes a little digging but Hunter is finally able to find her. The problem is is that many things are going on in Elle's life and she just doesn't have time for a man when she is trying to keep her company afloat and her step-mother at bay. When Hunter pushes for time with Elle she finally relents and starts to see what her happiness should look like. Just when her life is starting to look up, her evil step-mother comes charging back in trying to ruin her life. Even though Elle doesn't feel like she needs a Prince Charming she sure is glad when Hunter comes to her rescue and finally finds a way to give her her happy ever after.
I really enjoyed these two. It was fun seeing Hunter have to work for the girl he wanted. It was also fun seeing Elle as a strong willed female and finally getting the life she deserved.

This is not your childhood Cinderella. It was fun to find the hints at the original fairy tale, especially when the characters themselves pointed it out throughout the story. But Gabrielle(Elle) is living the life of Cinderella. When her stepmother and step sisters exclude her from the biggest ball of the year, Elle's friend convinces her she should go. As she is being denied entrance, Hunter comes out to rescue her. She leaves a lasting impression on Hunter and he has to find her. Elle is very cautious because of how she has been treated since losing her father. But Hunter does not let that stop him from getting his girl. The way he is so understanding and so protective makes him so swoon worthy. But that twist, really brings everything to light and Hunter is right there by Elle's side through it all. This story captured my heart and soul. A love a happy ending, but one that does not come easy, is even sweeter.
Lia Langola brings this story to life. Her voice has a wide range to keep the characters separate and easy to follow. Her male voice is smooth and not forced. Ms. Langola brought out the protective and strong characteristics of Hunter. Elle was narrated exactly as I imagined her. It is so easy to get lost in Ms. Langola's narration. Every book she narrates, I feel as if I am a part of the story.

Another great book in series. I wanted to give the book a 5-star but, there were issues that kept me from that rating. 1) Book 1 says h dropped a bracelet but in this book it says a h left a crystal shoe. 2) Abrupt endings I never like. Author did the same in book 1 so I guess that’s her thing. 3) I wish author would have pulled H and h from first book more into story since so much repeat “family history, the charity ball, etc was in book. 4) The main reason was because there was a lot of repeats in this book from the first one. Since I read book 1 it was too much. The details etc would be great for someone who didn’t read the first book. Plus, I paid for this book for it to have so much repeat was disappointing. This book was shorter than the first book with all repeat info too.
I still enjoyed the storyline and I’m going to pay lol and read the next book. I’m just hoping there’s not a lot of repeat again.

Erika Wilde delivers yet another captivating book in the Sinful Series. This installment follows Hunter Wilder's journey, weaving a Prince Charming and Cinderella-esque romance. Eliana Darian, also known as Elle, inherits 50 percent of her late father's company, finding herself in a true Cinderella situation with a wicked stepmother and two spiteful sisters who have tormented her since their arrival and more so after her father's passing. Her stepmother holds the other half of the company and the family home. Their paths cross at a fairytale-themed gala, where Hunter, along with his sister Tempest and his eldest brother Maddux, encounter Arabella, leading to an unexpected partnership. This story is a delightful read, and I eagerly anticipate the tale of their sister Tempest.
