The System has come online, and, with it, the world has been changed forever.
Zayn Greene, using the knowledge he gained from his former life as the Black Knight, a hero who slayed the Demon Lord, has become a demon himself in this new world, hoping to break the chains of fate that bound him in his last life. Now, as the first night falls upon the new world, what will happen to him, and those he chooses to take under his wing?
He may have phenomenal power, but that is only for someone of his level. He will need to get stronger still if he is to be sure of survival. For goblins are the least of the worries this new world has in store.
I'm a rookie author, looking to write stories that I enjoy writing. Not gonna get awards, but honestly, I'm happy with each and every person that reads my work.
Stuart is a sci-fi and anime geek, who dabbles in tabletop and video gaming. He enjoys cosplaying and has gone to DragonCon annually since 2009. Frozen Soul is his first book.
It is a sad, sad day when you finally break down and realize that you will never have the life you wanted, never do the things you wished to do, and never see the things you wanted to see. All because of a stupid lack of lightsabers.
I was a 26 y/o college student at Armstrong Atlantic State University, as a theater major. Went to school for a while before, dropped out, tried to go back, dropped out.. Not much to say other than the fact that I'm a laid back guy, and the only drama I like is the kind that's on the stage.
If I act like an idiot, or do anything to offend you, chances are it is not intentional, and I'm being oblivious. In that case, hit me upside the head, and tell me, because I don't catch subtle hints.
You have 12.3 trillion dollars. That's over 3,000,000. a day, every day for 1000 years. Three million every single day for a THOUSAND years! and yet you buy basic upgrades, a few consumables and ignore the rest? Why not dozens of consumables?! Why not several vehicles? Death is permanent, and weightless magic inventories are a thing, why not splurge on consumables?!? Or Extra weapons or armor or vehicles? Your a slaver! You collect people! Slave collars? Nah, I don't need them yet.... When you have enough money to buy a vehicle for EVERY SINGLE PERSON on the planet, why stop at one of each? The MC has the foresight of a mosquito. Endlessly OP, the universe magically hands him everything he needs or wants and the system broke in his favor again and again and somehow he is still struggling. A slaver who puts himself on the front line? Calling 10 gold steep when you have 12.3 trillion? Dueling people fairly instead of just stabbing them in the back? Stopping to shag before you have cleared your AO? Getting in melee distance when your a caster and again death is permanent??
I desperately hope he dies for the betterment of the human gene pool. Seriously, I have never wanted an MC to die more than I do right now.
Okay so regarding subject matter I knew what I was getting into so this 1 star review is not because i was blindsided that. I made it through the first 3 books--which were very short even with a significant fraction of them just being reiterations of stats and skills and such--and i could live with that, i know how to skip stuff and heck there are like 19 books out so hey that is still like 5 regular human sized books all together. And i was not blindsided by the cringiness of the MC, because like c'mon, its more surprising for an MC to show an ounce of charm or evidence that the author met another human being in this corner of the genre, but....
Pros: -The world building, character interactions, and combat are well developed and descriptive. -Almost no grammar or mechanics errors while still using a relatively deep vocabulary. -LitRPG elements, such as stats and items, are clearly displayed and understandable. Also keeps values and information consistent, as opposed to many LitRPGs wherein the author seemingly forgets to update their spreadsheets with their characters' latest changes. -I feel that the harem members are deliberately acquired and have standalone personalities of their own. -Big plus for me compared to lots of recent harem lit: it's an actual harem, thus far. Not polygamy or polyamory.
Cons: - Really short. This issue is compounded upon by how good the book is, so that when you reach the end, you're even more upset because of how little you got if this great story. - Many issues seem to be a symptom of the story being too short: lack of adult scenes, lack of new harem members' screen time, no plot conflicts were resolved (some harem related conflicts and past life conflicts are, though), and the plot barely advances in any way (short of harem and past life story developing a little).
In the first book the villain was more conflicted, which was interesting. He raped a girl to save her. He enslaved in other people's interest... It was very dark but had a redeeming thread. He was much more the classic boring villain here. In the first book the flip to conflicted villain was so believable because previously as a dark Knight he was a conflicted hero. Stuart Grosse's excellent writing and tilt towards adventure carried the book, but character development was more what you'd expect from harem books.
Hey, setting up a seriously OP MC after an OP start. Managing a base with dungeon, since the house will end up being on two ley lines after the setup description, should be interesting. Yes, contains an apparently obligatory TDS false claim, but I can't decide if he is actually that much of a fruitcake, fething with us after the multiple negative comments on a later Lewd Dungeon, or simply doing over the top parody of TDS idiots.
Another great series from this author, if you're familiar then you know what to expect, if not then you should absolutely expect a dark antihero with twisted desires and questionable morals. It's a fun story of betrayal, vengeance and dare I say potential redemption. You will not be disappointed in this series.
Not quite as good as it's predecessor but enjoyable nonetheless. The RPGing descriptions were numerous and detailed. While this would please many, I found it a tad tedious. It also bit into the meat of the story by a large degree. I do wish the story was longer. I do love the premise and hope to read our bad hero continuing to be bad in all the ways we know and love!
This is the first true dark book that I have read. Most of the dark tales are just CALLED dark, but they are not intrinsically evil. Others talk about monsters but show the good side of them. There are also books in which every character you care about meets a gruesome end. I don't like them. This is Grosse's best work.
The book is so short but then the author goes and pads the back half with character bios and long equipment stats.. Authors get banned over trying to pad books for KU payouts.
Sad because the author could write this as a good book, but they turned it into a money grab
My only complaint was that it took so long to make this book I don't know what type of schedule strout golf is at but I want more of the series coming in Faster both this one and the mental supervillain one and the black
This book was really good a nice flow and cadence and left me wanting more. This book hits all the right notes. The only complaint I have is that book three isn't ready and that this book wasn't longer. This author is the best for the darker genre.
Can’t wait for the next book, they literally can’t come fast enough! Books are super short so I wish they were longer only because I really start to get into the story and then it’s over. I can’t wait for book 3!
Blue walls of spell and item descriptions are everywhere and the last 15% of the book is just a recap of all the characters. I'd be surprised if he didn't get smacked for padding his page count be Kindle Unlimited.
Obviously if you’re reading the second book you already know what this is about Stuart Grosse wrights fun books if you enjoy his other storylines you’ll enjoy this one.
Recommended for those that like villainous characters ... fighting action was great wish there was more bedroom action what is present is good however.
This book is better than the first one. Although I have to say I wish that Mr. Grosse would simply make one big book rather than a bunch of smaller ones. The ending though was epically humorous to me. His friend survived and came back but instead of being normal, his is an undead merchant lich XD.
This is a good book. You shouldy read it. I like the story. The characters are fun. The book is a good read. i enjoyed it alot.. Download or buy it today. why not?
Wow who ever wrote this book needs help badly!! Hope he or she gets psychiatric care!! Whoever lives next to this person make sure to keep a close watch on your kids!!
after the MC raping people in first book i should have dropped the book. 50 pages of stats, 30 pages of harem, 20 pages of actual plot. done with this crap
