Just wanna say finding the volumes for each 4 seasons on here is HIGHLY confusing but just know I have read the whole thing in case my listing is wrong ♡︎

The Japanese version of this series continues to not be on Goodreads ☺ But anyway, that version is what I read. This volume was a whopping 333 pages (according to the obi) and I would have been more impressed except I have volume 5 with me and it has even more pages than the previous one.
The Japanese version volume 4 comprises the aftermath of Jieun's disappearance, Seungbae's investigation behind Jieun's and Kim Seokho's possible murders (as a refresher, Kim is the guy Sangwoo killed after his gay panic episode), and Bum's backstory about his uncle. I'm gonna talk about spoilers past this point, but here's a warning for sexual abuse and incest and self harm. Lezhin warns for it on their site, it seems like? Published materials don't.
Spoilers time!
Sangwoo and Bum drive up to the mountain to get rid of Jieun's body. Bits of Sangwoo's past is revealed here. He's been to the mountains before. His dad was lying down in the back seat of the car while Sangwoo and his mum ate apples in front. We find out later the dad's corpse was found in the mountains, that Bum had accidentally stepped on the dad's burial place (?) and now we kinda wonder if Seungbae is right and Sangwoo did kill his parents. But his mum had been driving the car, right?
Anyway, they buried Jieun in the mountains at night. Sangwoo cops a feel off Bum's thighs while they were walking. He also has this speech about how Bum has finally done something to protect himself perhaps for the first time in his life. Congrats, Mr Killer.
They get some groceries after the hike date, where Bum meets some dude he knew from grade school. They hold a pissing contest... that is, Bum's school acquaintance and Sangwoo hold a pissing contest. The reader is treated to a nice moment of seeing Sangwoo (a guy who has 0 stakes in any of these events) fuck around with Bum's bully and come out on top. Like I told a friend, the fantasy KS offers is not about two people fixing each other, really. Some of it is about having Sangwoo fight Bum's battles for him, because Sangwoo has 0 inhibitions and 0 fucks to give. Do we also want to have a better car and look better and be stronger than our classroom bully? Well, if you can't do it yourself, get yourself a traumatised serial killer to do it for you.
Which is not to say that Sangwoo is not the textbook abuser your mum has warned you about. Once they're back at home, he gets into Bum's face about Bum not telling him about the uncle. (Bum's school buddy mentioned the uncle earlier.)
Me: but Sangwoo, you never asked???
Bum tries to deflect, Sangwoo insists on hearing the sordid tale out, and Bum tells him about how his uncle beat and raped him. And how he'd been powerless and unable to stop it.
Sangwoo is disgusted, reinforcing Bum's idea that everything is his own fault, saying it was all consensual if Bum hadn't killed his uncle. (???) All around not the way people should act if they heard a friend talk about a horrible experience like this. Sangwoo's charm points really swing from high to low because he's like this (well, abusers are charming, right?)
Bum tries to appease Sangwoo and promises good behaviour before cutting his wrists. And that's the end of volume 4.
There's really no volume of KS that is light and fluffy, but this one is particularly heavy because it has the two main characters opening up about their past and it's the bleakest thing ever. Bum's backstory is revealed in its full glory first, so a lot of readers have the most sympathy for him. After all, Sangwoo is cold, abusive, and a cold-blooded killer. But his backstory comes after, and by the time we find out and he's ready to actually face the truth and the source of his trauma, the climax of the story happened and he wasn't really given a chance to do anything else. (I'm not pressed about it and karma is a bitch. But I'm allowed to feel bad for him. Bum is allowed to feel bad for him.)
But I'm getting ahead of myself. Bum has always been what anchors this story: we feel for him and want him to have a happy life. And some of the people who want him and Sangwoo to end up happily together... well, we think of those moments where Sangwoo hands Bum his car keys just to show Bum's schoolmate that Bum isn't a loser actually. Like honestly, this shit was doomed from the start, but there's no point if we don't feel for these characters, no matter how fucked up.

Capitulo 40
Aquí nos hablan de la infancia de sangwoo, empezamos a entender un poco más de su personalidad y de porque actúa como lo hace y es que no es una forma de justificarlo simplemente es una forma de entender como su mente llegó a lo que es ahora, no tuvo una infancia feliz por lo poco que podemos ver, su madre lo cuidaba y lo trataba digamos que bien, es cierto que se pueden apreciar actitudes raras pero tal vez sean solo la imagen de como sangwoo veía todo, su padre era un abusador que maltrataba a su mamá constantemente, nunca nos dan una explicación de cómo comenzó todo eso y no es que la violencia tenga alguna justificación porque definitivamente nunca la tiene pero que hizo que todo comenzará, aún así podemos ver que no tenía una buena vida, no tenía buenos padres y tampoco una figura de apoyo ni nada de eso realmente la pasaba mal y no sabía que hacer ni como defender a su madre, podemos darnos cuenta que bum si es muy similar a la madre de sangwoo, cabello negro, piel pálida, bajo y delgado y facciones femeninas, sonrisas cálidas y un poco de todo eso conforma el apoyo que sangwoo obtuvo de su madre y que buscaba en yoonbum tan urgentemente, es por eso que no había matado al chico y es por eso que trataba de complacerlo, solo una forma de manipulación para que él no se fuera de su lado
También nos enteramos del pasado de bum, realmente fue duro y traumante, sus padres murieron, eran clase media, quedó en las manos de su abuela y su tío, un tío que tenía problemas con la madre de bum porque está lo había dejado por su hermano mayor, así que creció con enojo y odio a bum por ese rechazo, bum realmente no se si es gay, en realidad en lo que va la historia no se muy bien la orientación de ninguno, es cierto que bum siente "amor" por sangwoo o lo que él cree que es amor, pero bum se sentía atraído por mujeres y constantemente se metió en problemas por acosador y pervertido, su tío empieza a castigarle por ello, tanto físicamente como abusar sexualmente de él ya que bum era muy parecido a su madre, lo que por momentos me daba ironías ya que quien es la madre de bum? Como murió y donde estaba ella, porque bum se parece a su madre y a la madre de sangwoo? Solo preguntas sin respuestas aún, de todas formas bum sufrió una infancia horrible, realmente se sentía asqueado de sí mismo y no sentía que alguien pudiera amarlo, cosa que es normal en niños abusados, así que se puede entender porque el que sangwoo lo tratara bien y cuidara de él y le devolviera su afecto solo lo hacía más unido a él, solo hacia que no quisiera irse lejos,cosa que sangwoo quería, hubieron momentos difíciles y sangwoo también sabía cual era la historia de bum así que solo siguió con su papel y estuvo junto a él, fueron de vacaciones, conocieron personas e incluso ambos hicieron migas con unas chicas, la verdad es que sangwoo estaba coqueteando con ellas pero cuando una de ellas se intereso por Yoonbum y es que hay que recalcar que con esas escenas solo vemos que yoonbum quería afecto y se vuelve receptivo a cualquiera que se la de, por eso se acerca a esa chica y deja que ella coquetee con él, pero sangwoo también lo sabe así que su miedo hacia el abandono crece y no puede evitar querer marcar lo que él cree que es suyo o sea bum, su coqueteo acaba a fuerzas porque sangwoo las manda al diablo y se queda con bum a solas, no creo que sean celos es más bien miedo lo que hace que quiera tenerlo solo para él y que atención sea solo para él y supongo que todo viene de sus traumas infantiles, así que todo avanza, sangwoo también tiene heridas abiertas y alucina con su madre y lo que ella le dijo antes de morir "morirás de una forma dolorsa" sangwoo tiene miedo de que sea cierto
Capitulo 46
En el cap 46 sangwoo molesto con bum le lleva a su tío, realmente no supe como sentirme con esta escena, odio al tío de bum y estoy segura que no siento ni un poco de pena por él, más bien me sentí molesta porque sangwoo dejara solo a bum con él, quería castigarlo, cuando vio que las cosas iban mal decidió acabar con él y lo mato con una bolsa y se fue, bum se quedó solo en la habitación y por días no sabia que hacer, empezó a delirar y a soñar despierto con todo, buscaba a sangwoo porque era un refugio seguro para él, sangwoo realmente logró lo que quería, que era que bum fuera dependiente a él y que nunca se fuera de su lado y nos podemos dar cuenta que lo logra cuando bum lo busca en todas partes apesar de todo, es una cadena que ambos se ataron así mismos

It’s scary how fast I actually read this entire series… to be honest, it was entertaining in all of the wrong ways, and I’m not proud that I read it. But I have no regrets either.
Spoiler: anyways, I laughed when yoonbum spent time looking for sangwoo just to be handed his ashes in the hospital. That ending will always be funny to me.
Also, a question for the public: why THE FUCK do people simp for sangwoo?!?
That’s my mediocre review. whatever. I’m outta here.
EDIT: after doing more research, I’m starting to feel bad for the author of this series. Why do a lot of her readers view this story as a ROMANCE or YAOI?! It’s a psychological horror/thriller, and even the author herself made a few statements.
Anyways, I still love this story. I think it reached what the author was trying to portray (horror and thriller-esque themes), and at times while reading, I even got CHILLS. i was even scared at times and felt for yoonbum.
Now idk what to do w myself. Should I go get therapy?

OKEY. Mmm si, esto no está bien.
Ya dije bastante sobre este no romance de killing Stalking asique me voy a centrar en otras cosas.
No sé cómo funciona realmente todo este tema de la Policía, pero creo que cierto personaje se fue de tema y debería haber actuado con más cautela. Es algo que todos sabemos, al menos yo habiendo visto un par de series y leído algunos thriller. Ahora me pregunto... Si ellos ya saben que están siendo investigados, observados y analizados (al menos por cierto personaje( cómo seguiría la historia? Realmente se animarán a ir más allá como hicieron antes, o solo tendremos historia del vínculo entre ellos.
Veremos.....

The listings of the Killing/Stalking seasons are so confusing here on Goodreads 🤯 but just know that I DID read it all one Sunday a few months ago and absolutely loved it. I never thought of adding it to my "read" list until I was adding some manga over the weekend.
It was my first time reading manwha but I don't think there's much difference between it and manga, other than Korean names instead of Japanese and little details like that. It's a particularly brutal and violent read but I really loved it. It kept me so intrigued that I finished it in one whole day, morning to nighttime 🖤

Muy bueno el personaje del policía fracaso, le da mucho cuerpo a la trama. Chale con la policía bien inútil, ni parece vida real.
