The Norton Anthology of Drama: Volume 1, Antiquity Through the Eighteenth Century

Rate this book
The most comprehensive and distinctive collection of its kind, The Norton Anthology of Drama , Volume 1 offers thirty major plays, the most carefully prepared introductions, annotations, and play texts, and a distinctive and convenient format. Less expensive than rival anthologies, The Norton Anthology of Drama is also the best value―a book that students will keep long after the class is over.

Annotations are super helpful (although annoying sometimes- who doesn't know who Plato is?). Good selection of plays.

The selection in here is extensive and well-thought out. Although there are some (mostly in the second volume) that I would disagree on the choice of play included for the author, the Anthology is an excellent resource.
