She was abducted in the middle of the night... Don’t scream. Don’t scream. Don’t scream. Jayda doesn’t need to hear that. And it makes Daisy cry. But a scream is burning in my chest as they haul me to “the chair.” My tears mean nothing. My soft begging is pointless. They grab my arms and legs and strap me down and put that damn wand to my head… the one that reaches inside my mind and starts tearing it apart… We escaped that nightmare—Jayda, Daisy and me—and now I just want my life back to normal. Forget those crazy aliens with their pointed ears. Forget all the screams. But as soon as I step on the set—my big chance as a Guest Star in a new medical drama—all of it comes rushing back. If it weren’t for that hot new Production Assistant, I’d probably be in a psych ward by now. The Universe is finally giving me a break. Grace is desperate to put her life back together. Theo will do anything to keep her safe and help her heal… except tell her who he really is. And how he’s the reason she was taken in the first place. My Dragon Bodyguard is a steamy dragon shifter romance that’ll heat up the sheets with love and warm your heart with dragonfire.
I love this series! I’ve probably said that before but I just can’t help myself! In this book we meet Grace when she is held captive by the Vardigah. The next time we meet is when she is waiting to go on set for a scene in a new TV series being shot which is where she first meets Theo who has the ability to calm her down from her nervousness. But, unfortunately, it’s a medical show and everything combines to the point where she has a panic attack and hurts herself while trying to run. Theo is the dragon who is her soulmate and who has managed to get a casual job working on the set. He is immediately there for her and helps her to deal with the paramedics and then to get her home. Theo is conflicted. All his life he has been told that there is a woman who carries the other half of his soul and that he will only find true happiness with her. Rather than make him happy it makes him feel trapped. What about free will? What if he’s not ready to settle down and make dragon babies? No, this fated business is not for him. He is so determined to be independent and form his own path in life that he has bought a railway ticket to LA! There’s only one problem; he can’t just walk off and leave Grace when she is sick and obviously suffering from PTSD. So, he stays by her side as a support and bodyguard to make sure she’s safe. Grace has blocked all memory of her time with the Vardigah and if she has a few nightmares she puts it down to her imagination. Having Theo nearby seems to calm her and it makes her feel safe so, she clings to him as much as she can. There is a sub story central to the book about the American/Japanese who were interned during WWll. I had known of this but Alisa has managed to convey the pain, confusion and hurt caused to these people, US citizens all! I have voluntarily reviewed this book after receiving an ARC from the author but I can honestly say that AW writes so well that writing a review is no hardship! Thoroughly enjoyed and recommended! Five stars. pounding!

Wow! I have always loved Alisa Woods' ability to spin a story that will take you for the ride of your life, and this book certainly doesn't disappoint! Her characters are vibrant, strong and have enough spunk to keep you on the edge. Her tales are paced "just right", with lots of intrigue, action and of course, love and hurt. In this book, we have the pleasure of meeting Grace and Theo, as they take the journey of discovering a love like no other. A bond that, once connected, will never be broken. After being rescued from the Vardigah, Grace has had a hard time adjusting. Never quite sure if what she experienced at the hands of the evil creatures was even true or simply a living nightmare, she tries desperately to "get back into her life". But the nightmares are true real, and she simply can't shake it off. Then there's Theo. The most gorgeous specimen of the male species she has ever had the pleasure of laying eyes on. When he's near, he's like her very own personal Prozac. Calming, soothing. Theo knows he has to be patient. After rescuing his soul-mate from the Vardigah, he knows he has to tread lightly. Only one problem....he doesn't want a mate. What about his career? Will these two make it through the hurdles and finally find peace and love? Absolutely spellbinding. You won't regret reading this book! Looking forward to Ree and Jayda's story. I was gifted a copy of this book and am voluntarily giving my honest opinion.
I voluntarily reviewed a copy of "MY DRAGON BODYGUARD" WOW!!! Another fantastic storyline from Alisa Woods I love this series it takes you on a great adventure full of danger, torture, intrigue, magic, hit steamy scenes, twists that make this a page turner. Grace Tanaka escaped the torture of the Vardigah dark evil elves that kidnapped her to torture her and determined to destroy her soul, along with Daisy and Jayda seemed to be handling things. Grace was playing a role a pilot for TV she was Dr Lily Sato during the taping the traumatic experience came back full force she has a panic attack and hurts her head Theo is immediately at her side he's her soulmate she's a Dragon Spirit. Theo is her bodyguard got a job on set but was doing a cappy job protecting her it was his fault she was held captive in the first place she doesn't know who he really is Theo isn't ready to settle down with his soul mate that's fated to him what about free will. Theo needs to stay with Grace until she remembers what happened with the Vardigah she's blocked it all out he seems to calm her nightmares will they get their HEA you must get this amazing well written book so well worth the read it's an addicting series you don't want to miss. AWESOME AWESOME READ!!!!!
This is the forth book in the series “Broken Souls” & I enjoyed reading this outstanding, suspenseful dragon shifter romance. The well-written plot is quite suspenseful with some unexpected events. The characters are complex individuals that are somewhat insecure at times & portray realistic emotional feelings coupled with numerous doubts while coming to terms with some unexpected situations. It is about: a young woman (Grace) who blocked all memories of the Vardigah (Dark Elves) & the torture she suffered but has some panic attacks, strange enough she seems to fairly calm when a man (Theo) is near her but unknown to her he is a dragon shifter who does not want a mate then his attitude changes. There is: dragon shifters, dark elves, humans, soul mates, friendship, twists & turns, intrigue, suspense, some humor, secrets, mystery, adventure, action, danger, threats, enemies, confrontation, violence, regrets, memories, discovery, verbal conflict, disbelief, anguish, compromises, some steamy scenes, contentment, love & a satisfying conclusion for this couple with a very interesting ending. I look forward to the next book in the series with great anticipation.
Another great addition to the “Broken Souls” Series. Ms Alisa Woods has outdone herself this time. Yes, this is a Paranormal Romance with Aliens. It is also a Historical Romance where I had the opportunity of learning a bit about the Japanese American Internment Camps during the 1940s.
Back to the PNR side of this novel, what a fantastically lovely couple of broken souls we get to meet in Grace and Theo!! I mean, they are GOOD and BROKEN!! Ms Woods kept me holding my breath has I traveled with them to their HEA. Grace is such a sweet soul and the cutest ball of goofy energy! I wanted to make sure she never got hurt again and I’m not even her soul mate!
The next novel in the Series is focused on Jayda, the best friend of Grace. She is a one of a kind tough cookie! I can’t WAIT to see how her story turns out! Yep, I’ll definitely read this whole series. I received and voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
This is the 4th book in the Broken Souls series and has a very well written plot is very, always making you think the Vardigah (Dark Elves) are going to pop up at any moment, it is suspenseful with some unexpected events. The characters are complex individuals that are somewhat insecure at times & portray realistic emotional feelings coupled with numerous doubts while coming to terms with some unexpected situations.
Grace is a young woman who has blocked, but has recurring memories of the Vardigah (Dark Elves) & the torture she suffered at the hands of her kidnappers causing some panic attacks, strange enough she seems fairly calm when Theo is near her. Unknown to her he is a dragon shifter who does not want a mate until his attitude changes the longer he is near Grace....Knowing she is his soul mate doesn't help either.
Can't wait to read the next book and discover how Grace's friend and fellow kidnap victim, Jayda fairs....
Theo is a dragon whose been told Grace is his soul mate. She was rescued by their team from the evil elves, but he can't get over the guilt that she was put through that nightmare simply because she was his soul mate. He's also not ready to settle down and make babies to save the dragon race. Grace thinks it was an alien abduction, but she's miraculously been given a second chance at life. She's going to run with it and try to pick up her acting career. That's until she realizes that a medical drama may not be the best way to return to TV serials. As Theo saves Grace from her embarrassment and watches over her to ensure that she's not suffered a concussion, he realizes that walking away from her may not be as easy as he thought it would be!
I have been enjoying the series. The storyline is about dragon shifters who are dying out without their mates. They have to test a lot of women to find them and their enemies try to locate them first.
When one woman is rescued from their enemies, her mate is not so eager at first to claim her and rush into children. She is confused about the events but wants another start at life.
It is different from the others where the dragon shifters were eager to claim their mate and found it hard to wait. I liked that the author chose a different path for these two to keep it interesting.
I really wanted him to realize just what a blessing she could be. She went thru so much and tries so hard. I am looking forward to the next one.
This book is about the first of the three women taken by the enemies of the dragons. Getting to know Grace after she was returned to her was life was interesting.
Theo by dragon standards was a young one to have found his mate.
How do you reconcile your dreams with reality? Sometimes something has to give? Can they make the right choices to better their lives?
Looking forward to the next book in this collection.
Grace was rescued from the Vardigah when the dragons attacked. Her and her two friends were returned back to the human world rather than kept at the dragon lair. Their mates were sent to protect them. Theo shows up on set of the show she is filming as a PA and she instantly drawn to him. It's a sweet tale of growing love mixed with a dash of soulmate. There is some danger thrown and some drama for good measure. I highly recommend. I volunteered to read this book.
I enjoyed this entry in the Broken Souls series. The H&h are fairly young, although the heroine has been through a lot, even before she is kidnapped by the elves. The romance is relatively slow burn and I loved watching them become friends first, and then lovers. I'm looking forward to more books in this series!
I enjoyed reading this book, it has a good storyline. This story is filled with action, adventure and intrigue. The chemistry and interaction between the characters of Grace and Theo is great. I can't wait for more from this author. I received this book as a FREE copy to read and I voluntarily leave this review.
I tried to get into the storyline of this one novel. But, it wasn't enticing story to keep me wanting more. I own several of Alisa Woods series. I find them worthy. However, don't hold this rating against Alisa Woods. Some other readers will find it to be a five.
I loved the continuing theme. The HEA story can be read as a stand alone story, but is best read in order of publication. Multiple characters are in each book but the main characters are different and the focus of that book. Theo and Grace are both scared in different ways , the story is how they heal.

This is a great series and I especially loved this book. What an interesting idea, a shifter who doesnt want to be with his fated one. It adds lots of angst to the story. There is also danger and lots of steamy scenes.
To quote a character in a TV series " I laughed, I cried, it became a part of me. " Grace went through an extremely horrific situation and did not break but she is still traumatised.
Grace had so many nightmares, things from her past coming to haunt her. But when she discovers that some of her nightmares are real, that’s when things take a turn for the best
Kept my attention throughout the story. I liked the different way the story unfolded. Especially enjoyed the the history of the art that developed during the camps.
