“No one touches the new girl. No one befriends her. Otherwise they risk the wrath of the Titans.”
Moving her senior year of high school was not Lilith’s idea of a great plan. She would have much rather stayed with her best friend Zion for their final year of school. Her dad had different plans though; this new job was too good to pass up, and she knew she needed to go with him.
Being thrown into a school of snobby rich kids, where she would even have to wear a uniform, seemed like an even worse idea. The icing on the cake, though, is Connor Volkov. He wants her gone and thinks siccing his friends Griffin, Levi, and Margaux on her will scare her off. But, if he wants her out of his life so badly, why does he keep butting into hers?
When he first saw Lilith, Connor realized two things: one, he wanted her, and two, he wanted her gone. Making her life at school hell should be enough to make her and her dad get out of his house. The more time he spends with her though, the more his desire for Lilith and her company grows. Realizing he doesn’t want to be the bad guy anymore, Connor has to convince Lilith he’s worth taking a chance on. But, can he show her he’s a lot more than cold comments and hot, stolen kisses?
Recommended for readers 18+ due to bullying elements, triggers, and sexual content.
Nichole is a contemporary romance author. When she isn't writing, she's chasing her four children around. Writing has always been her aspiration but it wasn't until her husband suggested she actually follow dreams that she took the biggest step. Her debut novel, Cold and Broken exceeded her expectations and she can't wait to share more of the stories taking up space in her mind.
Her other hobbies include baking, listening to music, and reading. She also has an obsession with true crime podcasts and cheesy 80s movies.
I didn’t expect to enjoy this story so much!!! Connor and Lilith were so attracted to each other! Although he made her life difficult in the beginning, once he realised how much he liked her, his initial mission was aborted! He had to gain her trust and believe in him and his feelings!
Connor and Lilith were such great characters, strong, tough, the storyline was animated and had a terrific pace and the writing was amazing!
All characters had fantastic roles, I am looking forward for the stories of Connor’s friends!!!
I enjoyed this. I have to say I am not a fan of Levi he is such a boywhore. After all his mentioning of hookups and him having an erection too often for the h in this book and then to find out he is in love with Ivy but still sleeping around I found his character really disgusting. I don’t believe I will read his book when it comes out!

I really liked this book. It’s a high school bully romance but I wouldn’t quite stick it under the category of overt bully - as the love interest wasn’t quite as cruel or mean as I’ve read in other books. It was refreshing to see someone who wasn’t so stuck in his hateful ways.
It really had one of those strong alpha male characters and the heroine wasn’t someone who was completely walked over. There were some moments where I wish the heroine was able to put her foot down more - but nothing like some of the weak mains in other books. But then again, I’m a sucker for an overbearing, domineering, kind-of-guy. I do like that this book offered POV from both Lilith and Connor.
I absolutely loved some Griffin, Levy, and Zion. Their relationship with Lilith was cute and I expected some other things to happen with their relationship that I wouldn’t be opposed to seeing 👀
Towards about 70% of the book, I was wondering what was going on since everything seemed to be calming down and if the heroine was just going to get an easy, happily-ever-after. But don’t worry Nichole Greene will definitely throw you in for a loop.
A friend of mine posted that this was available for free one day on Amazon so I jumped on it because ya girl can never pass up the opportunity for a free book. I went into this book with super low expectations and ended up loving it! Now, we all know I'm a complete sucker for anything smut and anything enemies-to-lovers and this covered every base for me! This story starts out with Lilith who is living in a lower class part of Chicago but is forced to move when her dad gets a better job opportunity in New England. She is the definition of a sassy and strong woman and I automatically loved her character. Enter in, Connor, sexy, arrogant, rich boy who is as someone else accurately described as "the perfect amount of damaged-but-redeemable alpha male." Connor is the son of Lilith's dad's boss and is adamant on breaking Lilith and ensuring that her and her dad go back to Chicago. The only problem is, Connor is quickly obsessed with Lilith and intent on making her his. I seriously loved all of the characters in this, even some of the side characters and I really enjoyed the plot of this. I thought it was well-paced and kept me engaged throughout the entire book. Despite a few grammar errors that were easy to look over, in my opinion, I thought that this was well written and kept me hooked from the first chapter! Don't even get me started on the sex scenes...holy hell. They were VERY steamy and dirty. I just had a few critiques. This is supposed to be a high school setting but to me, the characters did seem to be much older with the things they did, yet seemed much younger in the way that they texted each other. (i.e. "what ru doing 2day?" or "wait til u c these uniforms I have 2 wear") I also think that being rich could definitely have affected how they act so maybe that's why they act older than what a "normal" high schooler would be like. My second critique is that I honestly wish the ending hadn't of been so rushed. Everything seemed to be wrapped up too perfectly, too quickly and I honestly just wanted more! I loved these characters so much and I wanted a more thought out ending for them. Overall, I binged this in almost a day because I literally could not put this down. I loved the characters, I loved the general plot, and I will definitely be checking out more of this authors work! I highly recommend this book to anyone who, like me, enjoys a binge-worthy, smutty romance.
This book is the most ridiculously smutty high school soap opera story I've ever read, and I DEVOURED IT.
It's filthy, in the best way, with some of the best dirty talk I've ever read, and I have read many a romance novel. Connor and Lilith have explosive chemistry from the first time they meet. Lilith is strong and sarcastic, and you love Connor even when he only refers to Lilith as "peasant". He makes it work.
It is a bit strange that the characters are only in high school, when this definitely seems more like an adult romance novel, but I do love that the main couple is big on consent and using protection. If you are looking for a hot, steamy, smutty rich boy falls for poor girl roller coaster of smut come read this book.
Highly looking forward to the next book!
Trigger warning: brief attempted sexual assault (not by main male character), bullying
This book is extremely spicy and I am here for it! I loved it and here is why:
The story line is told by Lilith and Connor and I loved reading about their encounters through their different perspectives. She has recently moved from a rough part of Chicago to start school in the extremelysickeningly ridiculously wealthy Founder's Ridge and Connor is the spoilt and rich popular 'bad guy' who tries to make her life miserable from the moment she arrives...
There are so many lovable characters - even when the guys are being grade A a-holes
I love how sassy Lilith is. She doesn't take any nonsense and never backs down. She has a heart-melting relationship with her dad who raised her to stand up for herself which makes it highly entertaining when
Connor is the right amount of damaged-but-redeemable alpha male and I am so here for the relationship between the close knit group who are really a sexy AF chosen family.
Another reason why I loved it? Ummm, the smut.
I cannot wait for the next book to come out! I need more Griff and Lev in this one. These guys are HOTT. ["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>
This was a pretty good read and my first time reading this author. Lilith didn't want to move her senior year of high school. Connor Volkov runs the school and what he says goes he is also a bully who has his friends also bully her. Lilith was a smart daddy girl who grew up in Chicago with a father who was a Marine who taught her how fight and use guns. Connor is the son of her father's new boss and he wants her home but he also wants to kiss her. When Connor sees Lilith he is angry because she is so beautiful he is also mad that he is attracted to her gorgeous face and body and her attitude towards him she doesn't want him and Connor definitely isn’t used to people telling him no. I liked Lilith right away but Connor not so much but I did warm up to him when he started treating her better. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling. I am looking forward to reading more from this author.
First of all, I suggest we start a petition to stop the popping of the letter P. I'm sick and tired of it and there was a damn lot of p popping in this book. 🙄 Also the reason as to why I would give this a 2.5 🌟 is because I think it's very overrated. For me it felt like I was 15 again, reading a wattpad novel with a whole lot of cringy behaviour that really irked me, throughout. 😬 I also felt like it was very bland and Juvenile. There was just a lot of annoying behaviour from the H and h and other characters in the book that infuriated me. Anyways I may just skim through the other books in this series because I did not enjoy this at all. 🤚😫
Holy fuck! what the FUCK? This book was going to get 3 stars until 90% of the way in. Up until that point, it was a mediocre rich boy/"poor" girl enemies to lovers sorta bully novel. It was only sorta a bully novel as he just TALKED about how he was going to bully her, but the worst he ever did was drop her off at the entrance to school instead of all the way to the parking lot. 🙄 It was mostly cheesy and lighthearted, the biggest focus being on lilith not fully trusting him for like 70% of the book, when she does they finally fuck in a very lame 3 paragraph sex scene that felt so anti-climatic after the length we waited for them to have sex. I was kinda just cruising along, not completely bored, but not riveted until 90% when suddenly , her father is shot and fucking killed! At 90%! Her father wasn't just a random background character either, he was a solid supporting character who was a good guy and her ONLY family. They go through the whole thing with her having hope he's going to be alive, only for him to die in surgery. AT 90 FUCKING PERCENT! Yes, I know I've said that, but I can't emphasize enough how fucking terrible the timing was and how awful this tragedy was for the story! It tanked the whole thing! Not in a feel good way either, in a horrible way that not only didn't fit the tone of the whole rest of the book, but was handled beyond sloppy! Her father was her only family and he raised her by himself and she's only 18. Her new boyfriend who she barely started trusting is indirectly the reason he's dead. The complex emotions and cascading fallout of that would be enough for an ENTIRE other book and yet, it's glossed over entirely and none of her emotions are actually dealt with or addressed, just a weird time skip. There are so many lose threads about her life that I guess might be addressed indirectly in the second book, but who fucking cares at this point. I was planning on reading Griff's book, but now I just want out. It takes a very skilled writer to off an important character and this author definitely isn't it!
This is my first time reading a book by Nichole Green let alone a bully romance but omg I absolutley loved it! I loved Lilith and eventually I warmed up to Conner. The way they loved each other so much by the end was... ugh... beautiful. Her writing sucked me in from the very beginning and then at 90% it had me all up in my feelings because the story got real, real quick. Such a emotional rollercoaster with that ending! Already going to be a auto buy author for me and can't wait to dive into more of her books. If you haven't read this, why not?
DNF at 25% I feel like the author really tried but it just didn’t work out. Felt like I was reading a fanfiction. Also this was more like instalove than enemies to lovers.
This is not my usual subgenre for romance, but I thoroughly enjoyed this story about a girl from a poor area of Chicago thrust into the middle of a snobby Rich kid school in new England. At first she is given hell until she catches the eye of the Titans, the schoo'ls most elite boys. Usual teen drama ensues with an outside plot about shady business dealings and hit men.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ REVIEW: Discovered this author on tiktok and decided to bump this one to the top of my TBR this weekend. It completely hooked me from the start. I loved the sarcastic banter between Lilith and Connor (sort of reminded me of how my husband and I first started out with our love/hate relationship). Lilith is fierce and refuses to let these rich kids walk all over her. I definitely didn't see one major tear jerking moment coming and I literally cried for at least 2 chapters, but the way the group helped hold her together in her moment of vulnerability was beautiful. There are instances of bullying in this book so if that is a trigger you may not want to read this one, the bullying between Lilith and the main group of characters is not too extreme, but other characters in the book take things to an extreme level.
The supporting characters also captured my heart, so I am excited to read book 2 in this series. I will say that there are a good number of errors in the book which did make it difficult to read at times (missing words, incorrect words/spelling errors), but I also tend to notice these things more than the average reader might due to my editing background. The errors didn't stop me from reading, which means I was engaged with the characters and storyline enough that I could let the errors go.
Cold and Broken is an enemies to lovers story. Lilith and her dad move from the down and dirty area of Chicago into the world of the 1%. Her dad took on a new job as head of security to an oil tycoon. Connor immediately hates the idea of Lilith and demands that the entire class body make her life hell. But it doesn't take long for Connor to realize he made a mistake.
Connor and Lilith's attraction is undeniable. Their chemistry is off the charts. When Lilith is assualted at school, Connor, Levi, and Griff become her personal protectors. Lilith does not have it easy when one teen Witch does not get the memo that Lilith is to not be touched.
Their connection grows as do their feelings. And then tragedy hits.
I read this book within a day. It was overall a great story with plenty of steam and suspense. However, I feel I couldn't give it 4 stars based on all of the grammatical mistakes and other errors. Wrong names used, phrases repeated, words out of order. That type of thing. There were too many to not make note of it. I am not an author, and I know I write many mistakes (especially on my phone) but I feel it is important for a published author to make sure they have a good quality editor on their payroll.
I tried. I really tried to like this book but the writing is so bad!!! The plot had so much potential and I really wanted to see what would happen when her best male friend comes to visit ...but. OMG the simplicity of her writing is that of a coloring book. '4 means red. all red is 4!'
Not only that but the lack of character depth is crazy. It's lacking so much it feels like we are reading a book about characters acting in a play! For example, the main girl has to get a ride with the Connor (the main guy) and he kicks her out of it because he doesn't want to bee seen with her. Ok fair enough, that's pretty common in these books. but wait a min! two seconds later she 'almost' gets ran over by another car. The car next in line stops to help her and we find out that it's the step-sister. And this is how she basically introduces herself. "Hi, I'm going to be your best friend now because I'm related to one of them and I'm not scared!- oh yeah, no ones going to like you at school because the Titans said to be mean to you. Oh I know all about you from the app! You know the app to our school that only the kids know about! Download it and I'll add you as a friend! - dont worry I'm a senior too! Let's get your schedule now," schedule achieved! "Oh no! You have a class with the Titans! Be careful!"
Yeah... it's that bad. However, there are times where it's not horrible but it still follows the tread of only caring enough about these people to still be considered shallow characters. The only depth we ever really see is that of the main bully "Connor's" obsession with his younger sister. Which is very strange IMO.
Ah, I'm more disappointed than anything right now. This just read like a bad fanfiction.
I seriously could NOT put it down!!! I loved everything about this.
This is a enemies to lovers book. I loved the realistic take of the transition from enemies to lovers. It’s such a simple yet captivating book.
The world building was awesome. Touches of reality and current events and issues that are very relatable and gives the book new life. The characters, each unique you can’t help but love them even when you want to hate them. Seriously love the feisty and witty Lilith, she was definitely a pleasure to follow through this book and is a very strong character which I love in these types of books.
Not gonna lie I got a mix of dark legacy and boys of brayshaw vibe with this book but I think that’s why I loved it even more!! I’m obsessed with those series so it’s only fitting I love this one too.
Would have liked a bit more bullying, only purely to keep the tension level high because I love that but nonetheless it was still an amazing read.
Full of drama, tension, heartache and tender sweet moments and everything in between why wouldn’t you read this book? Such a roller coaster. I devoured this book in one sitting and it slayed me. Love love love it. I cannot wait for the next one.
I LOVED THIS BOOK!! I just finished Rina Kent’s Royal Elite Series and was looking for something else in the high school bully elite style. Cold and Broken hit all the notes I was looking for. I downloaded a sample and those first few pages I wasn’t sure if I was convinced. The positive reviews sold me. The sample, the first few pages may seem ... slow? Maybe I was hesitant after setting aside some not so great stories. By chapter 3 I was hooked. Love the writing style. Love the dialogue. The friendships were fun. You will ugly cry. Your heart will feel likes it’s being ripped out. Ugly cry. But the love in these friendships will put your heart back in its place. I’m in love with all the characters. Very few editing issues, this isn’t a deal breaker for me. And it very slightly, kinda sorta? Ends with a teensy cliffhanger. You probably wouldn’t call it a cliffhanger, more like a lead up to book two. This is a definite must read for Rina Kent Royal Elite fans
Wow, just wow. This book is freaking amazing! When I first started reading it was emotional but not to get you in tears, it was just how it sucked you in. From there it just took off. When you meet Lilith you cannot help but to fall in love with her stubborn side and come backs. Then Connor, you can't help but have a hate/love relationship for him. So as their relationship evolves and it gets steamy too. You see a different side of Connor. Then it gets intense and serious. There were things that I did not expect and caught me off guard. I seriously cried. Nichole Greene had me in tears. This was her debut and she knocked this out of the park. I cannot wait to read her next book. Edit
Great little story but nothing exceptional for me. I liked the heroine though, she is strong as I love but Connor's change of mind happened too fast for my liking, with no transition. One moment he hates her and wants her to leave his place because . Everything was too easy as much as the plot.
So, I started this book in anticipation for an arc of Relentless I have coming. While I thought it sounded decent enough, I assumed it would be like any other high school bully romance I had read before... and I have read MANY! What I got, though, was a freaking masterpiece. This shocked me in so many ways!
First of all, Lilith was as kick butt as they come. She is the daughter of a Marine, tonight how to fight and wield a gun. Girl can defend herself. When she and her dad move from Chicago to the North East for her dad’s new security job, she goes from the violent communities in the Windy City to a cushy McMansion and a private school. But, daddy’s employer’s son and his pack of Titans immediately want her gone. Pffft... like she wants to be there any more than they want her there. She had to leave behind her best friend in the world only to have to endure the rich elite brats of Founder’s Ridge.
As soon as Connor sees Lilith, he is angered by how beautiful she is. Mad that he is attracted to her gorgeous face and body... and her attitude towards him. He definitely isn’t used to people NOT being affected by him; NOT being scared of him. But Lilith gets under his skin and soon all he wants to do is be near her.
I adored the relationship between Lilith and Connor and how fast it changes. That is what I found so different about this book. Connor smartens up pretty quickly about his feelings toward Lilith. But the fact that he seems to actually have feelings for her puts a major target on her back with the “mean girls” at school. Luckily, Lilith meets Ivy pretty quickly after arriving in Founder’s Ridge. The bond is instantly strong between them.
Not only did I love everything about the Lilith, Connor and Ivy, we are introduced to other lovable characters as well... The two other “Titans” are Levi and Griff, Connor’s best friends. They deserve all the love and attention.
Among the relationships and the banter in this book, there is so much more. Connor’s father Victor heads a major company and Lilith’s father is Victor’s body guard and head of security. They have some people that want them dead, sending death threats and generally causing them to all watch their backs. There is also some great insight into the family backstories of both Lilith and Connor and their respective upbringings.
I am so unbelievably happy to have read this book and cannot wait for Lev’s story next. I need so much more of this crew!!!!
