Thoroughly Whipped

Rate this book
I, Faith Parisi, love my life. I have the best job—resident sex-advice diva for Visage magazine—I have the best friends, and I live in the best city in the world. Things are pretty damn fabulous. That is, until Henry “Harry” Sinclair III comes crashing back into my world like a bad case of herpes.⁣

I hate the way Harry’s lip curls in contempt whenever he sees me. I hate his bright blue eyes and those inexplicably offensive dimples. I hate his stuffy English accent and the stick that’s permanently jammed up his aristocratic ass. More than anything, I hate that he’s now my boss.⁣

But my professional prospects start to look up when a chance at writing Visage’s big summer feature falls into my lap. Success won’t be easy. ⁣I’ll need to let go of all my inhibitions—not that I have that many of those—and jump, stiletto heels first, into a hedonistic new world. An exclusive, secretive world, filled with leather, latex, and Manhattan’s elite.⁣

Pulling this off will take every ounce of daring I have, and every ounce of focus. I can’t afford to get distracted by anything, least of all my new boss, his ⁣arrogant mouth, or the way the ice between us seems to be slowly melting away…⁣

Tillie Cole

60 books26k followers
Amazon & USA Today Best Selling Author, Tillie Cole, is a Northern girl through and through. She originates from a place called Teesside on that little but awesomely sunny (okay I exaggerate) Isle called Great Britain. She was brought up surrounded by her English rose mother -- a farmer's daughter, her crazy Scottish father, a savagely sarcastic sister and a multitude of rescue animals and horses.
Being a scary blend of Scottish and English, Tillie embraces both cultures; her English heritage through her love of HP sauce and freshly made Yorkshire Puddings, and her Scottish which is mostly demonstrated by her frighteningly foul-mouthed episodes of pure rage and her much loved dirty jokes.

Having been born and raised as a Teesside Smoggie, Tillie, at age nineteen, moved forty miles north to the 'Toon', Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, where she attended Newcastle University and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts honours degree in Religious Studies. She returned two years later to complete a Post-Graduate Certificate in Teaching High School Social Studies. Tillie, regards Newcastle to be a home from home and enjoyed the Newcastle Geordie way of life for seven 'proper mint' and 'lush' years.

One summers day, after finishing reading her thousandth book on her much loved and treasured Kindle, Tillie turned to her husband and declared, "D'you know, I have a great idea for a story. I could write a book." Several months later, after repeating the same tired line at the close of another completed story, she was scolded by her husband to shut up talking about writing a novel and "just bloody do it!" For the first time in eleven years, Tillie actually took his advice (he is still trying to get over the shock) and immediately set off on a crazy journey, delving deep into her fertile imagination.

Tillie, ever since, has written from the heart. She combines her passion for anything camp and glittery with her love of humour and dark brooding men (most often muscled and tattooed – they’re her weakness!). She also has a serious side (believe it or not!) and loves to immerse herself in the complex study of World Religions, History and Cultural Studies and creates fantasy stories that enable her to thread serious issues and topics into her writing -- yep, there's more to this girl than profanity and sparkles!

After six years of teaching high school Social Studies and following her Professional Rugby Player husband around Europe, they have finally given up their nomadic way of life and settled in Calgary, Alberta where Tillie spends most of her days (and many a late night) lost in a writing euphoria or pursuing a dazzling career as a barrel-racing, tasselled-chap wearing, Stetson-sporting cowgirl... Ye-haw!

Why haven't I ever read Tillie Cole before? I must have been living under a rock. I feel so left out...lol. She is one talented storyteller. If her other books are as good as this book then I am diving in.

This was a great lighthearted read. I guess it could be classified a rom com because I definitely laughed my ass off. Faith Parisi works for a magazine and writes a sex advice column. Harry Sinclair is the heir to the publishing company and is Faith's new boss. Harry is English, staid and stuffy and he and Faith do not hit it off initially...In fact Faith insults him to his face. Faith has zero filters and gives zero f****. She will say anything and that led to some actual laugh out loud moments while reading. I loved her.

Together they were like oil and water and just hated one another so it was so interesting to see how their relationship developed. Throw in an exclusive sex club, light BDSM, awesome secondary characters and you have a recipe for a great read. It almost has a fairy tale feeling/vibe about it and it is refreshing change of pace.

I can't wait to re-read this one. I could not give it a five star rating because there were some proofreading errors (and I am such a stickler...lol). But overall this was top notch writing and I highly recommend.

I know Tillie Cole can do heartfelt and emotional, and I know Tillie Cole can do dark and gritty, but with Thoroughly Whipped, we see that Tillie Cole can also do funny and steamy!

Faith Parisi is such a character. She's a writer for a sex advice column and has a good life. Then stuffy and stuck up Harry Sinclair comes back to the US and he's now her boss. She and Harry have a history and it doesn't show-case either of them in the best light.

Oh the enemies to lovers troupe- how I love thee! Add in a work place romance and I'm in heaven. I loved Harry and Faith's romance, and watching them get to that point was the best part. I also liked that I was surprised a bit by a few things that went down (not so much the what, but more the how). It's always fun to have a little unpredictability in a story.

I honestly love reading a book and thinking this can't be going where I think it's going... and low and behold, it is! I had such a good time reading this. I needed a read where I didn't have to take things too seriously and this hit the spot. I love when authors branch out and write something that's not their norm. It takes a lot for me to five-star love a rom-com, as I usually love the super emotional books best, but this book was a fantastic departure from Tillie's typical.

If you're looking for a book that's sure to make you laugh out loud, that is sexy, and a whole lot of fun, pick up Thoroughly Whipped!

Thoroughly bland story with some BDSM thrown in. Then there’s the absolutely zero chemistry between our heroine, Faith, and the pretentious hero, Viscount-call-me-Lord-soon-to-be-Duke Sinclair. 🙄🙄

I need a drink.

'THROUGHLY WHIPPED:' Is a light hearted full length, stand-alone contemporary romance novel by Author Tillie Cole.

I've read Tillie's dark books, her sweet romances, her tear jerker, so it's only fitting that I jumped on this one!! Like seriously you have to ask yourself what can't this author write!?!

Tillie Cole is another one of my unicorn authors, whatever she puts down on paper I will read! And this book is exactly what the Doctor ordered! This was so much fun to read, I snort laughed so many times I just about blew my nose off my face!

With these trying dark times this lighthearted read is definitely a must read! Go on and one click this one you won't regret it!!

I adored our heroine, her goofiness, her clumsiness, her unfiltered mouth is what made me love her the most, add in the toffee nosed stuck up Harry and all the feels these two wrung out of me I was completely in my happy place!!

Ok, this is really hard for me.. I have been battling what to rate this book as I have never rated any of Tillie’s stories below a four star. The thing is that even though the writing was just fine, and there were some laugh out loud moments... this was just an ok read for me.

The first part of the story didn’t grab my attention at all. At times I felt like I was reading two separate stories at times as well. The scenes at “Nox” just didn’t capture my attention at all, and the feel that the setting in the club was so different than what was going on elsewhere.

When Faith and Harry’s scenes became more prominent, I for sure enjoyed the story more. If I am being honest, I was way more interested in them than what was happening with Maître.

All in all, it ended up just an ok read for me. I never did become enraptured, nor fully invested in the over all book.

Thanks Steph for buddy reading this with me!❤️

"Love didn't come easy to me at first."

Thoroughly Whipped is a contemporary romantic comedy full of spicey text, a complex plot, and an opposites attract (to the extreme)! With laugh out loud dialogue the entire read, Ms. Cole has crafted a hilarious Romantic Comedy with light BDSM and loveable characters. Faith Parisi is a sex columnist working hard to make her name in the news industry. Despite her crass and spunky demeanor, she has somehow stolen the attention of her conservative and clean-cut boss Henry “Harry” Sinclair III. When the demands of her job and the pulls of her heart begin to clash, only Faith can decide which direction she will go. Either choice could change the track of her life forever.

description
"You brought me back to life."
Told in Faith's POV, Thoroughly Whipped is a laugh out loud hilarious read. Faith is a strong-willed woman who is clearly comfortable with her sexuality and yet, she is clumsy and awkward when it comes to walking down the street. The strong contrast between her and Harry was so liberating to witness. I could not tear my eyes away as the two learned to navigate the rough waters of living up to the "world's expectations" and finding the right direction to go together. Tillie Cole has always been one of my favorite authors due to her gifted writing style. She never fails to capture the heart and soul of every character she creates and introduces them flawlessly to the world (with passion and unapologetic truth). Faith and Harry were no different. This was the first time I have read a Rom-Com from Ms. Cole and I truly hope that she will write more of this style. It was light and swoony and just what the doctor ordered to put a smile on my face!
"We were from two different worlds."
Overall, Thoroughly Whipped will appeal to Romantic Comedy fans who enjoy strong characters in the opposites attract trope. Although there were some elements of BDSM, I feel that anyone and everyone that enjoys a good laugh would enjoy this read. I look forward to more Tillie Cole goodness to come!

The cover alone had me convinced to read this book. I didn't even care about the blurb.
This book had some great laugh out loud moments and honestly it's just what I was in the mood for.

I love our main character, Faith Parisi. She was not afraid to speak what was on her mind and it made for some funny moments. She was fiercely loyal and confident.

Harry on the other hand was kind and compassionate. At first, he came across as grumpy, serious and a little mean but Faith looked underneath all that and fell in love with him.

I also liked the little side romance the author added in this book involving one of her best friends.

The beginning just felt a little slow to me. The conversation between Faith and Harry doesn't actually start until a few chapters in. I couldn't get into the story till our main characters actually started interacting with each other. I was feeling detached from the story in the begining. But the story picks up and gets better.
Also, some things that happened in the book were fairly obvious and anyone would have guessed it.

All in all, this was a funny and low angst book with a lot of steam that I would recommend for a light read.

Goodreads otra vez borrando mis reseñas? Esta vez fui precavida.

WHAT A DISSAPPOIMENT!!!

2 disappointing stars :/

Well . . . . . . that was disappointing. . . . .

This was my first Tillie Cole novel and to say I was disappointed is an understatement :( I think I read a different book from everyone else because by the time I made it to the end of Thoroughly Whipped I was just annoyed and exasperated! Which is such a shame because I went into this one expecting to really like it!

What was the biggest problems for me?

1. The chemistry - or lack thereof - between Faith and Harry! Yeah I felt ZERO sparks between these two. I get what Tillie Cole was going for. She was trying to do a romantic comedy enemies-to-lovers type romance.

She was also trying to do a poor girl meets hot rich billionaire boss and against all odds they fall in love type thing??? And once again. . . . .

I honestly couldn't understand why these two wanted to be with each other? Not only is Faith halfway in love with this "other guy"--> yeah more on that in a minute, but her and Harry barely have a conversation until 45% in. And then all of sudden they both just suddenly liked each other and I just didn't feel like their progression from love-to-hate was gradual or earned.

And another thing WHY DID THEY EVEN HATE EACH?? Because from my seat over here it seems like Harry had a really good reason to dislike Faith and Faith had no real reason to hate Harry. Yes he was a bit rude and distant but to me that felt more like a cultural thing and him being her boss. On the other hand we have Faith saying some pretty rude ass things about her boss and it just was all very unprofessional and I didn't find it funny.

"Henry Sinclair the Third is nothing but an overprivileged cockface. An overprivileged cockface who needs nothing but a good spanking and a thorough fucking!"
like girl you are an INTERN and you're saying this shit about your boss? mmmmkay

I wanted to be like "girl he could have fired you and he didn't so count your damn blessings!" Once these two were a couple I was bored and they were fine together. I personally couldn't see this couple working out in real life but since this is romance land they live HEA and fill Harry's giant house with a bunch of babies and grow old and die together.

2. Faith our resident leading lady just did not work for me. I think Tillie Cole was trying to make her this really spunky, laugh out loud, no filter, badass heroine. . . .and once again. . . .

I think there was only one moment where her brand of clumsy, outspoken, no filter thing worked for me and that's this quote here:

You seem to fall a lot in my presence.” I tried to hold my tongue, I truly did, but it was too much to hold back. “Harry Sinclair, I can’t help it, your animal magnetism shakes the very ground you walk on, and I just cannot help but fall at your feet.”

Other than that it just got to be a bit much. She was literally falling in our heroes presence every other scene and after a while I just couldn't help but roll my eyes. Newsflash authors *FALLING AND BEING CLUMSY IS NOT A CHARACTER TRAIT* That trope has been forever ruined by The Twilight Saga and I will fight anyone who says otherwise!

Not only that but with these type of heroine's I as a reader need to be on board with the humor. If I'm not on board with the heroine's humor it just makes getting through the whole book a real chore. Honestly half the shit that came out her mouth just made me cringe. . .

And I don't think that's what the author was going for. . . . . Also can I just say the snippets that we do get of her "brilliant writing" were just not good. Her sex advice columns were shit and didn't give any actual advise. It was more witty quips + "humorous" non answers and less advice. So i'm really confused why everyone was waxing poetic about her "amazing" column.

3. Harry --> actually never mind this dude was boring as hell and I didn't really care about him at all. I didn't really get why he liked Faith that much to begin with and the whole "big reveal" shit he pulled to me came off as really creepy. He was pretty bland and while I could see that Tillie Cole trying to make him Mr. Darcy like (the characters actually compare themselves to P&P and I was NOT having it!) he was just bland.

that's right this book isn't even worthy of a Colin Firth as Mr. Darcy gif!!

the real #3 reason: THE PLOT! Yeah what in the name of all that is good was the plot of Thoroughly Whipped?

Let the spoilers COMMENCE

And I finally just threw in the towel with this quote

“Prince,” Harry said. “Prince of the castle would be more fitting.” “Well, I’m certainly not a princess.” “Not yet,” Harry said, causing my heart to flip in my chest. I met his gaze and saw only seriousness in his eyes. I swallowed at the implication of his words. . .

REALLY!!!! WHAT?

Yeah after that gem I just hate finished the rest of this thing!

So closing thoughts? Thoroughly Whipped was just not for me. I can see why other people enjoyed this one but suffice it to say I did not. I didn't like the humor, the heroine, the hero, or the plot. I feel really bad too because I've heard this author's other books are very good so I was super excited to jump into this one. But I just couldn't with Faith and I think ultimately if I'm not on board with at least the heroine then what's the point?

**the 2 stars are for the fact that 1. I was able to finish this book and 2. for that one thing Faith said that made me somewhat laugh**

Till next time!

Tillie Cole has always been one of my all-time favorite authors. Her stories have either been dark or incredibly angsty. This is the first time she’s delved into the Romantic Comedy genre and I think she nailed it 100%!! I laughed out loud so much while reading this book! From beginning to end, I flat out ADORED Faith and Harry’s scorching hot and insanely hilarious enemies-to-lovers romance. ”THOROUGHLY WHIPPED” was a cross between ”Fifty Shades of Grey”, “Beautiful Bastard”, and “The Unidentified Red Head”. Did you ever enjoy reading a book so much that you wished more than anything that you could live the life of the Heroine in the story? I wanted to be Faith Parisi and as I got closer to the end, I wished that I could spend more time in her world with Harry Sinclair.

Faith is the type of Heroine I always love to read about. She’s ridiculously funny, curses like a truck driver, a total klutz, and forever finding herself in the most embarrassing circumstances. There isn’t anything I didn’t love about her. Harry is a beautiful and pompous British bastard. He’s standoffish and a total snob, but you can tell he's a complex character with many layers. The anticipation of getting to know this mysterious man made for numerous hours of thrilling reading.

I normally start my reviews with a favorite quote, and I did have quite a few to choose from. I chose not to in order to avoid possibly revealing any spoilers. I had such a good time reading this book and I hope that you all do as well. Tillie, if you read this review—please, please, please, don’t let this be your last romantic comedy. You have such a gift to be able to write so many different types of stories. I’d also love it if this wasn’t the last we’ve heard from Faith and Harry.

Here are my overall ratings:
Hero: 5++++
Heroine: 5++++++
Plot: 5++++
Angst: 4
Steam: 5++++
Chemistry Between Hero & Heroine: 5++++

While this was a bit too predictable, I really enjoyed this TC novel...and what a change up from the others I've read by her. This one actually made me laugh out loud quite a few times; something unexpected from the dark romance 👑 queen.

Thoroughly Whipped is a light and fun contemporary romance, much different than what most readers are used to from Tillie Cole. Faith Parisi was a sassy and very lovable character, I absolutely loved her personality and the relationship she had with her friends and parents. The story starts when Henry “Harry” Sinclair III becomes the new CEO of the company Faith works for. She already met him years ago when she interned for the company, and had a bit of a rude and awkward interaction with him. She kinds of dislikes him and the same goes for Harry, who is a bit taken back with her colorful personality. Harry is a hard and cold man, and quiet the opposite of Faith. But when these two are put together in close quarters when an elevator breaks down, they for the first time start opening up to each other. Harry has put up walls around his heart, but Faith manages to break it down piece by piece.

This is a pretty straight forward romantic comedy, with many hilarious situations. There were a couple of times where I was suffering from second-hand embarrassment. Faith is super clumsy but also very sweet. Harry has been kind of living his life according to the society he is a part of, but it is obvious that he isn't happy with how things are going. Faith shows him to have more fun and go after the things that can make him happy. I enjoyed seeing Harry's personality change the more he was around Faith. I loved him relaxing and letting lose. I thought Faith and Harry made a great couple. This book besides being hilarious was also very hot and I loved the scenes that took place at NOX, a sex club. I rated it 3.5 stars because there were some scenes in the last quarter of the book that didn't really hold my attention. However, overall I enjoyed this book. If you are looking for a light and fun, sort of enemies to lovers romance, then you'll probably enjoy this book.

“I haven’t been graced with the younger duke’s company before this moment. […]”
“He’s not a duke yet. That happens when his old man kicks it and passes down the title. And nobody is graced with that dick’s presence.

re-read January 2023
This is the filthiest rom-com I’ve ever read and I loved it. Again. It was glorious. Tillie Cole usually doesn’t write rom-coms, like at all, but I really wished she would. *lolll

It’s also not what I usually seek out to read with the billionaire-trope and British nobility on top of it but hey, Tillie Cole wrote it, so I read it.

Visage Magazine columnist Faith has a new boss. Pompous duke-in-training Henry "Harry" Sinclair III and she’s not happy. They met before as interns, and well, you could say their meet-cute wasn’t all that cute.

And in her job she wants more. She wants to write her own feature for the magazine and when she’s out one night with her friends an opportunity arrises when she’s invited to the NOX club. There, the master of the infamous sex club, the mysterious French man called Maître, takes her on a kinky journey of pleasure (for research purposes of course).

At the same time she gets to know Harry better and the more private side of him and starts falling for the last man she ever thought of falling for.

note: when Faith starts having sex with Harry she stops having sex with Maître at NOX.

But it all comes to a crashing halt when Faith puts in her finished feature, that was supposed to be the highlight of the magazine’s extended summer edition, and Harry shuts it down.

But there is still the super swoony and fairytale-like last quarter of the book that takes us to the English countryside for the company’s anniversary and lets us reach for our fans and smelling salts.

Harry is a great and freaking hot male lead. And Faith… man that girl is a real firecracker! Admittedly it gets a bit mushy at the end but I loved it and I guess it wasn’t the last time I revisited this book. ♡

I was so excited for this new release by Tillie Cole!!!
But as the story was progressing I couldn’t connect either with the characters or with the plot.
The first four chapters were very interesting. When the sex club and Maitre Auguste were added to the plot, my interest went downhill... It just felt out of place for me...
Although the story had potential and a lot of readers will enjoy it, I dnf @ 27% 😔

Tillie Cole's writing range is unmatched. She's going from rom-com (Thoroughly Whipped) to dark romance (Hades Hangmen series) to YA coming of age stories (A Thousand Boy Kisses) and it she's pulling it off. She's so versatile and that's great.

I was a bit hesitant to read Thoroughly Whipped, cuz rom-com is not my favorite. The humor can be a hit and right down your alley but more often then not it's a super miss and you just want to bang your head against the wall. While Harry with his British-royalty-stuck-up-his-arse-humor was a bit cliché, it worked well with Faith blurt-it-all-out-personality. These two started out on the wrong foot, but when they got it together, I liked it.

What I didn't enjoy was the BDSM plot with Faith going to a sex club to do research for her magazine article. When she went to this club and ended up sleeping with this Maitre guy, who is the club owner I was like ehhh okay??? It's wasn't really a surprise who Maitre was after all, but I was still not a fan of it. Therefore I was feeling really detached from the story and only got really invested when Faith and Harry started to interact more with each other.

Overall, it turned out better than expected so that's a win.

I'm not going to do a thorough review because it's just not worth it so quickly

H/h go from enemies to lovers
Some very bland and boring BDSM added with a couple who had ZERO chemistry
h starts hooking up with the master of the club while knowing the H but obviously not knowing they are one and the same person
The h was no stranger to hookups and random ONS
The humor was just as bland as everything else and the jokes of the frat boy type
Everything else was predictable

Nope

No cheating
H/h knew each other for a few years but hated each other so one assumes there were others in that time
H is a master at his BDSM club but a prim and proper royal in real life
He wore a mask during their hookups

When Tillie announced this book I was curious. I got use to read her heart wrecking and dark romance books. And although I usually don't go for RomCom, sometimes we all need to read something to make us laugh. And that is what I was expecting from THOROUGHLY WHIPPED, a good laugh. But I literally just finished reading and I'm feeling so much more. I did laugh and I also fell completely in love with both characters.

I gotta confess, it took me sometime to get into the story. I loved Faith already but the book got my whole attention when she received a great opportunity that would get her where she wants in her work. Her new assignment was different. Everything was interesting. I was like her, curious and wanted to know everything.

I loved Faith. She was fun-clumsy, witty, outspoken and she attracts people attention, that kind of person I would love to have as friend.

I didn't love Harry from the beginning but as we got to know more of him and he was opening more to the readers and to Faith, I was given my heart more and more to him. At the end I was in love, drooling over him and on my knees.

THOROUGHLY WHIPPED was exact what I needed: a perfect reading that I didn't wanted to put down. A beautiful, heart melting, sexy AF,  love and fun book with a sassy heroine and a pompous not-so-much prick of a hero. I'm with a huge smile on my face and I want to pick up this book and start reading all over again because I love it so much. A different kind of book by Tillie's usual, but totally lovely. I thoroughly recommend it.

_______
4,5 estrelas

Recomendo completamente.

4 1/2 "I choose you."Stars!

This was the funniest, dirtiest, sweetest story I have read in a while. I adored both Harry and Faith. I adore their story. I liked just about everything about this book. If you are looking for something that's mostly just light and fun with some serious heat between the sheets, I highly recommend this one. When I got to "Fin", I had a silly goofy smile on my face. In short, this story made me happy. I needed that. Happy reading!

this is such an unpopular opinion here, but this book was really a mess, the plot is so messy that I can't even put It on words because it's going to be confusing af, but im going to try
this book is about a girl who hates her boss and ends up having sex with him in a club in which she doesn't recognize is him, everything good so far, they barely speak and the first 20%-40% of the books are weird sex scenes.
then she starts talking with her boss discovers he's not an asshole and drops the guy who was fucking in the sex club (and yes the boss and the guy are the same), but she does this after she said she was having feelings for the club guy so wtf???????
after that everything is a blur, and honestly I couldn't find any chemistry between her and the boss or her and the club guy so :/
also, the side characters were so bland, like I get this is a romcom, but cmon with that plot it could've been better

2 OUT OF "Disappointing" 5 STARS

ARC KINDLY PROVIDED FOR AN HONEST REVIEW

WHAT WAS THIS? 😭

Ok so this book is a nice read. Its funny and enjoyable, however the plot was really bad- LIKE LEGIT THE WORST- From Tillie, I expected better. Without spoiling the book I will say that the plot is nothing new, the female lead is dumb and annoying and the male lead is just stupid for what he does, ... When you start this book you expect a nice office romcom but from chapter 3 it gets turned into something completely different and gross.

I had high expectations from this book, because being a big Tillie fan I know her writing is amazing- and it is- don't get me wrong but I felt this book was really IN THE FACE with it's English humor and sexual jokes. The female lead was irritating, she had a few bestfriends that don't help her in anyway expect lust on her men and give her bad ideas.

I felt like Tillie was trying too hard with this book, I don't think it was planned out properly or else it could've been alot better. I love her dark romances and that's the only thing I'm excited about in the future, not her standalones.

This was an very honest review, this book was just NOT for me. The plot is bad, the characters are stupid. Overall, if you want to read a funny senseless book, go for it. For those you want something good, I would recommend not to waste your time.

I’ll admit I went into this a little blind. I knew it was a romantic comedy, with an enemies to lovers trope. I started the book and was immediately worried this might be a Fifty Shades of Grey book, which I didn’t like mostly because of the bad characters and writing. But, I am happy to say the character development and writing in this one was simply wonderful. The characters were so easy to love. Faith was someone you could imagine as your best friend. She was such a klutz, had no filter, and was so much fun. She wrote a sex column for the magazine she worked for. She is not refined, or poised at all. On the other hand, Harry was the exact opposite. He was always put together, uptight, arrogant, grumpy, and always said the right thing. They had explosive chemistry and excellent banter. However, these two do not have good history. They met several years ago at work and did not get off on the right foot. So imagine her surprise, when she finds out, he is now her boss.

At the same time, she has just found an in at the exclusive Manhattan sex club, which she plans to go undercover at and write a feature article on. I honestly cannot remember a book that I laughed this much through. Faith’s antics and the things she said were incredibly funny and don’t get me started on her mother! All of the secondary characters added so much to the story. This was a one sitting read for me. I loved it! If you are looking for a good laugh, you definitely need to pick this up!

*I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

“Harry, since we met, we have been meteorites crashing together, knocking each other off course. I can’t imagine two more unlikely people trying to strike up a friendship. “

What can we say about this book? Hmmm…we know! We bloody LOVED it! If you want to escape, swoon and laugh your tits off, then READ this BOOK! It’s that simple. Escape into a rom-com that’s hilariously funny and every bit the 5 star read! What a fantastic read!

‘I used to know my place with Harry. I didn’t like him. He didn’t like me. He was cold and arrogant. I was loud and annoyed him. Now…we were in a no-man’s land. One I couldn’t find my way out of.’

Is there ANYTHING this lady can’t do? The answer is a firm NO! We love raw Tills, we love gritty Tills, we love it when she decimates our hearts, but fucking funny Tills? OMG! We’ve MISSED her! Our very first introduction to Tillie Cole’s writing was seven years ago when we were captivated by the sweet and oh so funny, Eternally North . We adored that story and its one that will always hold a special part in our hearts as the book that set us on a love affair, and a wild and wonderful reading ride with this versatile author.

In these trying time, we really do need some light relief, something to make us forget everything around us, and Thoroughly Whipped gave us all that! A sizzling sexy, seductively steamy, wickedly funny and swoony heartfelt romance with an enemies to lovers and opposite attracts themes that spoke to every single part of us! Oh gosh, we ate up every morsel of this story!

When it was fully erect and swaying in my face, I gave it a firm sailor’s salute. “At ease, Captain,” I said. Obviously, it didn’t deflate so I shook my head, tutting. “Are you defying me, Private? I’m gonna have to teach you a lesson.”

“Faith, will you please stop speaking to my penis like an errant soldier.”

“No can do, Harry. It’s getting court-martialled, and that’s all there is to it.”

“And pray tell, what will his punishment be?”

I winked up at Harry. “A thorough tongue lashing, that’s what.”

Tillie Cole asks that reviews not contain spoilers, and as usual, we’ll make sure our review doesn’t. In fact, you don’t really need to know much about the story at all. Go forth and lose your heart to Faith Parisi, the fiery, clutzy, say it as it is, brunette from Hell’s Kitchen, and her arch-nemesis the uptight, pompous and unapproachable Henry Sinclair III, as their two worlds collide.

Harry, the ‘motherfucking viscount of Britain’, heir to a media magnate and Faith Parisi a sex columnist, known as Ask Miss Bliss Visage, to which Harry is the new CEO, as they butt heads and steam up your Kindles! And OMG! Faiths column is the best! That’s what you call sex advice!

“Dip into the whip and anal bead pool and bathe in it a little. Let’s give our readers wild sex on a silver paddled platter. Let’s dildo up and jump on the gag ball bandwagon.”

Join Faith in her crazy escapades with her madcap friends Sage, Amelia and Novah. Lose your heart completely to the cool Henry as he tries to maintain the world-order he’s been born into, whilst losing his heart to the buxom inappropriate Miss Parisi! The banter is pure comedic gold!

“It was, without doubt, the best orgasm I’ve ever had in my life.”
“And you said he was hung.” Novah’s eyebrows danced. “Just wait until that piece of hot salami is served on your moist platter.”
“Please never utter that sentence again. My lady boner just totally deflated.”

There is a side story about a sex club Faith enters for a cover story that had us in fits of laughter! Seriously, Faith’s hard and ‘fuck no’ limits list had us in stitches! We were in tears laughing when we discussed this book. Talk about the right book for the right mood!

“Miss Parisi, has no one ever told you to duck when balls are flying toward your face?”
My head was throbbing, but I was not going to miss that kind of invitation. I held Harry’s hand, which was still on my head, and said, “Harry, usually when balls fly at my face, I have my eyes and mouth wide open.”

“You are incorrigible, Miss Parisi.”

Tillie Cole has done it again! We can’t imagine a time when we’ll never pick up a book from this clever and talented author. Tillie Cole is a chameleon. An author who morphs and emerges time and time again with a story that never fails to win us over. No matter the content, there’s one thing for sure. Tillie Cole is the bomb!

"As I woke up this morning, I was the happiest I have ever been in my life. Having you in my arms, you knowing everything there is to know about me, was freedom. True freedom. No masks, no disguises, just us. To me, that is perfection."

I knew Tillie Cole was trying to write a light and funny story, but I was honestly surprised by how much fun I had while reading "Thoroughly Whipped". This book reminded me of my teenage years when I used to spend all my free time reading and watching rom-coms (good times *sigh*). Faith and Harry's story was full of awkward humor and clichés, but I didn’t mind it at all. Sure, some plots felt far-fetched, but that's the great thing about comedy: it's supposed to be a bit over the top sometimes.

Faith Parisi was definitely the highlight of the book. She was always putting her foot in her mouth, but she was just unapologetic about it. I don't know how many times I had to put my phone down because I was cringing so hard from her craziness, but Faith didn't even care and just kept going like no big deal. I really admired her confidence at those times, I'm not gonna lie lol I don't have much to say about Harry Sinclair because he was the typical rom-com hero: richer than Croesus, quiet, broody and sweet. I enjoyed his character a lot and I wish we had some scenes from his POV. It would've made those moments even more funnier for sure.

Sometimes I thought Faith and Harry couldn't possibly end up together because they were exact opposites, but they somehow made it work. Even with all their differences, they weren't afraid of being themselves and sharing whatever was going through their minds. This helped them build a solid, comfortable, and most importantly, honest connection. But what I loved the most about their relationship was that they were always making each other laugh. I think there's nothing sweeter than a couple who knows how to be silly together and not take everything so seriously all the time.

In NA books it's common for the characters to have that one friend who only appears once in a blue moon, so I was glad that Faith had three close friends that weren't just there to say a few sentences and disappear. Novah, Amelia and Sage were great additions to the story because they were as unique and amusing as Faith. Their dynamic worked perfectly well and their scenes together were definitely comedy gold (watch out for a certain moment where Amelia explains sex to Faith. That's all I'm gonna say about it lmao).

Even though I enjoyed this book a lot, I must confess that the beginning was a little too slow for me, so it took me a while to get into the story. Besides that, I wasn't really convinced by the "enemies to lovers" trope. The reason why they "hated" each other felt superficial and pointless. If the author had used the beginning to develop this plot better, the book would have been perfect. Other than that, I have nothing else to complain. If you’re looking for a lighter book to escape from these crazy times, "Thoroughly Whipped" is definitely an amazing option.

It's a hilarious enemies-to-lovers, office romance between a stuffy British Boss and his American employee. The story is in a different tone from an otherwise Dark & Twisted writer, Tillie Cole and her English humor comes out in full force

description

Faith Parisi & Henry "Harry Sinclair 3 had a minor Misunderstanding 3 years ago and HE hasn't forgotten the sassy, no filter mouth of hers. He's been smarting ever since
“I called him an overprivileged cockface, Novah. An overprivileged cockface who needed nothing but a good spanking and a thorough fucking."
Whoopsie- Daisy!!!
She's stumbling, fumbling, adorably funny girl and some of her antics are truely cringe-worthy to him. He's dubbed as, and I quote- "the eternally entitled ball-sack. " by her.

description

He's Too Posh, Too British, stuffy and stiff for her liking. He works hard and plays harder, it seems, albeit in a formal kind of way. It takes an elevator incident to loosen his sphincter muscles apparently!!
“Do kindly bend over, dearie, I am about to embark my large royal naval vessel into your splendidly tight vaginal shaft.”

description

Obviously sparks...nay fireworks fly when they just happen to be together at New York office again.
On his off time he invites her to NOX, to put her "balls" where her mouth is and the rest as they say is exploding chemical reaction in motion
It's rib-tickling, LOL Rom-com and a fresh change from Tillie.
4 stars for the Roman Goddess of night and daughter of chaos
