I'm from New York, but I was born in Texas and I met my wife in Los Angeles. We have one son, he's in finance.

I started writing in 2017 and have this series planned out (kind of). I think my imagination gets a little carried away, as I've been told to remove a few things.

I have this one reviewer, out of a dozen, that is very eager to explain his ideas. I told him I'll need to credit him in a future book with some basic character developments. His ideas are pretty good. His name is Enrico and he's an NYPD first grade detective. Just to give you perspective, NYPD has around 40,000 officers and employees and there are only 200 first grade detectives.

So, stay tuned. It's going to get very hot in here!

I received Mrs. Thomas through the Voracious Reader's program.

When I requested this book, I wasn't aware from the provided blurb that it was a third in a series, so I tried to judge it as a standalone. That said, I wasn't ever confused about who a character was. This book gave just enough info to fill me in without feeling like an info dump.

The character of Reggi is interesting in the first third, but then she drops off into a pretty boring character. I wasn't super into the others. Adelaide didn't sound convincing to me. Maybe because much of the book isn't from her POV, but I hard time believing she's a good detective. It's also a little strange that a city police officer was able to go into distant areas and have any jurisdicition without pulling a ton of ropes. I was confused on why Adelaide and Frank think no one will be looking for Reggi after four weeks. She's a convicted killer, right? Maybe I missed something from the first two books, though.

The build up to the end was fine, if a little simplistic and relaxed, but the ending was disappointing. I was never on the edge of my seat, what will happen to these characters, and the end moment that should be a blow-away moment skipped that for the sake of a sequel. As part of a series, that might work, but IMO each book should be able to hold up on its own, even if it does provide a backplot for future installments. Also, the follower's identity is pretty obvious from the backstory given. It's probably my pickiness, but I like when mysteries/ thrillers relying on whodunnit set up multiple possibilities equally well.

My last super picky complaint is the trouble I had believing in the relationship between Addie and Madison. If some woman who just married my uncle a year ago called me 'little girl' in that tone I'd have just hung up.

I might look into the next book to see if my suspicions about the second follower are correct, but I'm sadly not interested in what actually happens to these characters or continuing plot line.

I received this book via Voracious Readers only, so will give an honest review.

The first chapter had me gripped and I wanted to know more about Reggie Thomas. The next couple of chapters I found weird, until I realised the author was setting the characters!

I found Frank to be totally annoying in the sense that he wanted to protect Reggie but kept undermining everything Addie was doing. Addie is supposed to be this superhero cop and on the whole she is a strong woman, but I guess when you put family in the mix, struggles can ensue making it very difficult not cross a line - however Addie manages this without too much difficulty.

Reggie had my total sympathy for some reason. I wanted to dislike this 80 year old grandma but I was desperate for her to be innocent and to have changed.. you won’t find out in this book!

Reggie and Madison had me constantly guessing what would happen next, along with the creep who was following them! Does he get revealed - you will need to read the book- but I did not see that twist coming!!!

Overall, having never read any of William Cain’s books before, I can’t wait for the next book to find out what happens next!

I have not read the first two books, and although this is a ten book series, book 3 can be read on its own. There may be a back story to some of the other characters but it does not derail this story!

This is my favorite book from Voracious Readers thus far. This fast paced easy read was thoroughly enjoyable. Although this book is the third in this series, it can be read as a stand alone. As I enjoyed it so much, I will go back and read the two written before. I loved the quotes at the start of each chapter. I would definitely recommend this book.

I read this book without reading the two that come before. I WILL be going back to read the others and the one after. GREAT READ! Fast paced with fabulous and believable characters. Solid plot that stays on track careening through its twists and turns. James Patterson readers will love this book.

Thank you to Voracious Readers only for sending this book my way.

Yup, the whole family, and all over the country.
Addie is no spring chicken, and she has a lot of good guy -vs- bad guy experience. In this case, there is an “underground railroad” that protects women in danger, that makes the quest very challenging.
Thanks for a good read.

Holy what a ride! From start to finish this book took my mind on a crazy trip. When i had to put the book down, it still had my mind going on who did it. I loved the last three books in this series, i feel like i really know all the characters. So far this series has everything I want in a book. Can't wait to read more from all of these characters.

I received a copy from Voracious Readers Only in exchange for an honest review.
First, this is part of a series that really can't be read as a stand-alone. I would describe it as one long serialized novel (at least so far) with the plot of one part running right into the next. It is a great format, in that you feel irresistibly compelled to pick up the next book. They are short, fast-paced, action packed stories that you will not want to put down.
I am really struggling to rate this. I am going with 4, because I think for the target audience, this (and the rest of the series) would be a great, satisfying read.
The thing is, though, I figured out pretty quickly that I'm not the target audience. I kept reading (all of them) because I felt duty-bound, first of all, because I promised to do it and it would be wrong not to, and because, dang it, I needed to know what was going to happen. Which is kind of a ringing endorsement! Even though I, admittedly, found the story infuriating at times and I generally just wasn't the right reader for it, I HAD to know! That is effective writing, right there.
There were characters that I deeply loathed (maybe not the ones I was supposed to...) and those I enjoyed (Gennero, I'm looking at you!). I had trouble suspending my disbelief and I'm not a fan of the love storyline (or the sex scenes), but that's on me.
Despite not really /enjoying/ it, I will definitely be checking out book 4 to see how the cliffhanger is resolved.

This was the first book I read out of the series despite it being the third in the novel. The storyline is rather unique. One killer granny aka the mother in law Mrs Thomas followed by Mrs Thomas the badass cop daughter in law. Question is which Mrs Thomas is the author referring to?

Anyhow I really enjoyed this one. It flowed well and had some really good twists. And the ending has left it where a heck of a lot more can happen. Will the old Mrs Thomas senior get the road trip of her lifetime? Or will she end up at square 1?

Scored a very solid 8 on the old literary scale. Good narrative, good twists and overal a good plot. The idea of the underground was simply superb.

This is the third book in the series. I have been fortunate enough to have read all three, so I have watched the characters develop and grow as the writing does.
The book started out a little slower than the first two, but the pace quickly moved on as the bodies began to fall.
In the first book I figured out the killer who was revealed in book two, but this time I’m not sure. I’ll have to wait for book four. Each of William Cain’s books although are part of a series, can be divided into two. Book one started and book two finished. I’ve been told this will happen with book three and four.
All in all a great read.

Absolutely love this series of books so far. The characters are rich and interesting and grow with each book. The Underground is a great concept. I wonder if such a thing really exists? If not, maybe it should. If you haven’t read any of the books in this series so far, I would recommend that you do without delay. Can’t wait for number 4 to come out. I love the little quotes at the start of each chapter too. A nice touch.

*Note: I received a free copy from the author through Voracious Readers in exchange for an honest review*

Having read books 1 and 2 in the series I was looking forward to reading this book a lot, and it didn't disappoint. William Cain has an amazing ability to write stories that just suck you right in with characters you can't help but love.

I figured out quite easily who the killer was after the first murder, but that didn't detract from the enjoyment of reading through everything that happened in the process of them catching them. I have my suspicions as to who the person under the hat is, and can't wait for the next book where I hope we will find out their identity.

Having read the first two books I can't say if this book would be suitable to read as a stand alone. The first two books give a lot of backstory to all of the main characters that you would miss out on if you weren't to read them. Personally I like to have all of the backstory so wouldn't read it as a stand alone.

If you like cliffhangers as much as I do, this book (and the series) is a definite must read!

I quickly became so wrapped up in the adventures and shenanigans of these characters, I Iost all track of time and found myself at the end and looking forward to the next book.

In this book (3 of an anticipated 10), we learn more about Addie's unusual friends and family members. Addie is not the only one with unusual friends!

Good mystery

This is the third book in the series. It was nice to meet familiar characters and get to know new ones. There aren't a lot of surprises but the story is solid.
There were a few errors, which I don't remember from the previous books. I will continue reading about Reggie and her family.

Who needs sleep anyway? William Cain is one hell of a researcher, and plotter. If someone is disappointed in this book they don’t deserve to read anything ever again.

Another Stunning Chapter!

I am so taken with the attention given each character and each location, while spinning a worthy mystery. I’m aware this is said often, but once you start, you can’t put it down, honestly.

This book had me hooked from the start. It had a ton of action. It had twists and turns. The suspense of who was the killer up until the very end was awesome. I couldn't stopped reading! Looking forward to book 4.

I read Mrs. Thomas and Mr. Jones. Good writing with characters; lots of good vs bad, quirky sex, unimaginable gruesome cruelty, funny cops. Good series if you don't take it too seriously.

Follow Henson as she solves her cases. She's a tough cop with a sensitive side, turning contract killers into followers, pushing away mobsters and the dangerous Underworld. The stories, all four, so far, are very interesting with different elements from anything I've ever read. The battered women's Undergound, for example. I couldn't put this one down.
