It makes sense, I guess. They are the Seven Sins, after all.
And what’s a fallen angel doing hanging out with guys like this, you ask? Well… that’s a long story that starts with me breaking a teeny-tiny rule and ends with me getting kicked out of Heaven.
Oops.
But now I’ve got a chance to go back! There’s just one little catch: I’ll only be allowed to return to Heaven if I can bring the Seven Sins with me.
Yup. You heard that right. I have to redeem them. All of them.
It shouldn’t be so hard. I’ve got a plan of action all set.
Step 1: Stop thinking dirty thoughts about them. Step 2: Recruit their help to close up the strange demonic portal that just opened in Manhattan. Step 3: No, seriously, stop thinking dirty thoughts about them.
Uh oh. This might not be as easy as I thought…
Note: Dark Kings is the first book in the Feathers and Fate series, a reverse harem paranormal romance featuring a feisty fallen angel and seven delicious, devilish men.
A fallen Angel who wants back into Heaven has to get the Seven deadly sins on the side of good - something that would be easier if she wasn't feeling the urge to jump each one of them. This wasn't a bad read but neither did it have me sighing in delight. That being said I am curious about book two.
I'm hoping in book two there are flashbacks showing how Trinity broke the rules of Heaven/being an Angel. I'm also hoping there will be more depth and oomph to things.
This book was provided by the author in exchange for an honest review. Thank you Sadie Moss!
Dark Kings is the first book in the Feathers and Fate series and tells the story of Trinity and the first four sins we encounter: Beckett (greed), Remington (gluttony), Phoenix (sloth) and Ford (wrath).
When I read the synopsis of Dark Kings I was really intrigued. I wanted to know what Sadie Moss was going to do with this story and how we were going to meet all the sins. I really liked Dark Kings because it’s something that I’ve never read before and I also really liked that we got to meet 4 guys instead of all 7 guys. I think it’s something good, so nothing feels rushed and you are excited to get to know the other sins in the next book.
Trinity is a fallen angel and wants to get back above. To be able to do that she needs to find all 7 sins, but she didn’t expect on getting feelings for them. I really liked Trinity as our main character, she’s kinda funny with all her pop culture references. As for the 4 sins we’ve met in this book, I don’t have a favourite one yet. I just really like all of them but I do have to say that Phoenix is funny and cute, and I also really like Remington because he’s so kind. Beckett and Ford are not the same but I do have the same thoughts about them. I don’t really know how to explain it, but I like all 4 of the sins we’ve met in this book.
Dark Kings was a really good start of an amazing series, and I cannot wait to read the next book. I think that this series is going to be one of my favourites because the story is just so unique and I really like Trinity. She’s so innocent and all 7 sins are going to ruin her, in a good way… I’m really looking forward to the next book in the series and I cannot wait to continue Trinity’s story!
This book brings a whole new, delicious meaning to the Seven Deadly Sins. Tasty enough even to tempt an angel. Trinity is a strong, yet naive and shy character, who's spent most of her time on Earth as a recluse. She savours television and pop culture to keep her entertained while she serves out her punishment of being banished from Heaven. When an opportunity to end her punishment arises, Trinity takes it. Redeem the Seven Sins? She can do it, right? Right? She's going to have to if she wants to go home, no matter how shy or inexperienced she is. What follows is an exciting, page-turning, jaw-dropping, unique story, full of incredible sexual tension and enough steam to make an angel fall. Sadie has put her own unique twist on myths and legends in the past with spectacular results and Dark Kings has begun another series that promises to be just as enthralling.
I thought it was a pretty good book but the cover irritated me to no end. There is a pale white chick on the cover but the MC is described as black. Why not accurately depict the character in the book?!?
Recommend: Yes Spice: 🌶️ World: One world but mixed with supernatural and Mortal.
Plot:
Trinity is a fallen angel who has been fallen for over 30 years now. She Struggles to hold down a job and is always getting fired. One of the higher up angels comes to visit her one day and tells her she can go back to heaven if she gets the 7 deadly sins to convert to heaven. She takes on the Job but finds that its not as easy as the job was made out to be. She meets 4 of the men, Beckett (Greed), Phoenix (Sloth), Remington (Gluttony) Ford (wrath). She has one spicy encounter with Beckett, Phoenix and Remington due to be being sprayed with a lust potion. Then she has s small spicy moment with ford in her room when getting changed. A portal is opened and they band together to close it. But when they close it, they find it has a fail safe that sends out more portals to open all over. The book ends on Trinity getting ready to set off to close the other portals and leave the men behind but they tell her they will make her pancakes and help her close the rest.
My feelings:
This was a great quick read. I found the 4 men to be interesting from the start. Great book for young adults entering in to the world of reverse Harem without being thrown into the deep end.
Beckett who we meet first is greed, and although you think he would be the most stand offish he is the first to fall for her. He is nice to her from the start and makes you wish they rest are the same.
Phoenix is funny. I like how he hates doing anything that’s hard or involves energy. He is also sweet to her but not as quickly as Beckett was. He is a bit more stand offish to her until the spicy chapter at the brothal. Then he seems to be all in with her and completely captured.
Remington is sooooooo sweet. I love how he is just like this sweet gentlemen from the moment he meets her, but you can tell even though he is nice to her he doesn’t trust her at all. But he is also captured by her to and wants to know more about her.
Ford. Oh ford. I like you! He is mean from the start. Doesn’t like that he doesn’t know the truth about her but also knows there is a story there he doesn’t know. He is clearly someone who has been hurt before and isn’t keen for it to happen again. Even though its clear he is captured by her and wants to protect her, he is also not trusting of her. It will be interesting to see how he develops along the way and if he forgives her when he finds out why she befriended them to Strat with.
“I bite back an amused smile. Yup, Beckett definitely has a soft spot for her. This will be interesting.”

Hard to rate, I'm torn on this read. I'm not really understanding where the author was going with it, our Angel has one job, and yet that's not the job she's doing? She's not really fit to stop what's happening yet she goes on a mission that veers off in a completely different direction then what she's suppose to do. I'm guessing she's doing it because she's trying to do the right Angel thing, but it just doesn't read like that to me, it just a story that seems to begin another story. I just didn't really like it. The sins seem interesting, but not enough for me to care to see what happens next.
Trinity and her Sins needed to save the world and set it on fire!
Trinity seems to have a nose for chaos... Or maybe it’s the men she’s spending time with. Either way, redeeming the seven sins was going to be enough of a challenge, but with additional battles looming it’s going to require all of her energy now. This book brings the anticipation of new feelings and butterflies with Trinity’s innocence as the men spark new feelings in her for the first time. Every Sadie Moss book I pick up shows her writing keeps getting better and better. I’m eager for Wicked Game now! I can’t wait to meet the brothers/sins we haven’t been introduced to yet.
I just loved this one. It was amazing and different from other sin books I've read. And I can't wait to meet the rest of them. It's going to be so much fun.
DNF - quit at 10% I just couldn’t get into this book. There’s a disconnect for me with the main character, Trinity. I just didn’t find her interesting or the direction the story was headed to be worth my time. The plot sort of rambles along so slowly with no real direction or hook to pull me in. There was no way I could keep reading. I also think the author needs to reconsider her cover, as that’s a white girl on the cover, but Trinity is a black girl in the story.
At my age (approaching 60), life is way too short & my time is too important to force myself to read a book I'm not enjoying, especially when there are so many other books out there waiting to be read.
Nope, no, nope. Sorry but this was boring af. I made it to 78% because it had so many good reviews that I thought "well, i bet it gets good" but this was just too boring. Hate when the female characters go all stupid because the guy is good looking...what are you 3? Let's not talk about hor Ford was a jerk with her but she still felt attracted towards him 🚩
I'm reading this reviews and I keep wondering, did we read the same book?
Absolutely loved this amazing, page-turner, action-packed, easy to read, steamy, first installment of this new series, that promises to be a fantastic one 💖 If you think reading about the Seven Sins is going to be nasty or grotesque, you will be happily surprised by the way Sadie is presenting them in this series, you are going to love them, hot, hot, hot 🔥🤤... And, of course, our FMC Trinity is adorable... naive, shy, but determined, smart and with an impressive inner strenght that will help her through a lot of difficult situations... Her love for humanity and pop culture is so cute, you're going to lover her too... And, OMG, her interaction with the Sins is so hot... Ufff #gimmesomegreed #wantsomeBeckett 🔥😍... Can't wait to read the next book, 💯 recommended!!! ❤️
I had never read a book that has the (sexy) embodiment of the seven sins. So I was super excited to start this series. And it didn't disappoint. I loved meeting 4 of the 7 guys, and loved Trinity's character in general.
Ford is definitely a big softy underneath all of the Wraith. I just know it, and I can't wait to see that soft side. Phoenix has got to be my favorite so far. He's just so lazy , and he's hilarious about it as well. I mean, land mines in your driveway??
The only thing I really had a problem with was the insta love. Well maybe not love, but some sort of caring relationship. Like Beckett just figured out she was spying on him for a week, and he's pretty much threatening to kill anyone who touches her. IDK. It was sweet, but it would've been better if there was at least some distrust/dislike.
WE GET TO MEET THE OTHER SINS. EEECCKKK. I'm excited. Will they be able to close the portals together?
Review of whole series: When I see 7 men in a harem, my automatic thought is "that is too many people" not because I hate that the idea, but because typically in a story they would all just blend together and I would get confused. BUT because they were different sins they had their own personalities and distinct characteristics. The relationships took time to form (although personally I am always a advocate for getting to know each character really well, I wish we got more backstory and relationship building with certain characters or maybe just more chapters with the sins thoughts)
Was it a perfect series? No. Did it keep me up late at night reading? Yes.
Sadie Moss really had me hooked from the first chapter of this series. It's an overall fun and lighter read without heaps of angst and I thoroughly enjoy how everything is set up in this book.
Average reverse harems... I’m intrigued but not amazed yet. The four sins we have met are hot and charming, but I haven’t gained a connection with them.
Got this in a box set on audible. That was a mistake. Story is mediocre at best with a Mary Sue mc. The narrator on audible mispronounced so many words its grating. Feral was said like the singer Pharell. The word tryst was said with the y pronounced like it is in the world try. Does no one listen to this before it's sold for mass consumption?
Dark Kings (Feathers and Fate Book 1) ~~ Dark Kings pulled me in immediately because the premise alone is impossible to ignore. Trinity ~ Trin ~ is a fallen angel who wants nothing more than to go back home to Heaven. The catch? The only way she can earn redemption and return is by completing an impossible mission: convincing the seven original sins, all powerful and dangerous male characters, to join Heaven’s fight and seek redemption themselves.
From the start, the tension is thick. These men are everything Heaven warns against, and they have no interest in being controlled or redeemed. Watching Trin navigate this world ~ balancing her duty, her growing emotions, and the constant danger surrounding her ~ made her a compelling and relatable main character. She’s determined, flawed, and strong in a very human way, even though she’s anything but human.
I was glued to my Kindle, and when I couldn’t sit and read, I seamlessly switched to Audible. The world-building is dark and immersive, the chemistry is intense, and the push-and-pull between temptation and redemption kept me hooked. This book does an excellent job setting up the entire trilogy and leaving you desperate to see how Trin’s mission will unfold.
I would definitely recommend this book and the Feathers and Fate trilogy. It was a dark, addictive ride from start to finish, and reading and listening to it honestly helped keep my head sane when I wasn’t teaching. If you’re looking for a complete paranormal romance series filled with high stakes, redemption, complex characters, and emotional tension, this trilogy is absolutely worth your time — you won’t regret it.
Absolutely amazing! This book, as all of Sadie Moss's work, is unbelievable, nail-biting, and hot hot hot :) The MFC Trinity is a fallen angel stuck on Earth, whose mission is to redeem the Seven Sins who are residing on Earth in human form in order to tip the scales in Heaven's favor and get redemption for herself to return home to Heaven. Filled with supernatural drama, sexy as hell personifications of sin, a shady angelic handler (like for real, what is up with Anderson?), adventure, and tons of action, we see a strong MFC who tries to complete her mission meeting four of the seven sins while coming into her own and trying to just find her way in a world where she's been trapped, away from home. But things aren't as they seem - why make it easy, right? ;) Will she be able to complete her mission and get herself back into Heaven? *SPOILER ALERT* (somewhat) What did she do in the first place to get kicked out of Heaven? Will she find that maybe her place is on Earth with her yummy sins? Will she tell them the truth about her real mission? What will the other three sins be like? Who is really behind the appearance of the opening of the demonic portals? Is there something more at stake here - a potential war between Heaven and Hell? Honestly an amazing read and a brilliant job with the personifications of sins we see in this book. Absolutely cannot WAIT for the next installment in Trin's journey!
So, if there is a new Sadie Moss book or series, I have to know about it, I have to read it and I inevitably have to love it. Like when JHud sang that song "You're gonna love me"... every single book serenades me with those particular words.
It makes it difficult to write a review that comes off unbiased or fair because I'm a fangirl (obvi) and I keep loving stuff. But this one... this first book of this new series... it's all the big, awesome sports analogies - out of the park, touch down etc. I've never watched a football or baseball game in my life but I get these references so hard when I read a book that has me so amped up and filled with enjoyment that I'm seeing fireworks.
So I love all her work- her characters are brilliant, oozing with wit and sexy and brave and snarky and those Sins... Let me just hurl myself to the floor and y'all can do whatever you want... even Sloth. Maybe even especially...
The twist on these Sins and their Little Angel is brilliant. And once again, Sadie looks at what is normally black and white with a fresh and utterly genius eye and an entirely unique perspective and finds all the shades of... uhm... in between-ness.
I loved it. I loved it best of anything she's ever written (until the next thing she writes) and I can't wait to just utterly immerse myself in the rest of this series with it's intriguing plot and highly charged energy.
I absolutely loved this! I want more books with the seven deadly sins personified into characters... :) I was sucked in right from the beginning. I was a little hesitant that we only met four of the sins in this book because I've read other books were the author adds more people into the harem at a later date and they just change the established dynamic. However, I didn't feel it in this book or rather the next book. The sins we meet are Beckett: Greed, Phoenix: Sloth, Remington: Gluttony, Ford: Wrath. I think my fav so far is either Remington or Beckett. I really liked that Trin is innocent, but not and fearful and brave. It just worked for her. I gotta admit, my fav part is either finding all the other sins, going to the sex club and Trin getting a full dose of lust dust on accident or Ford being protective of Trin while they were meeting the death witch. It is probably the lust dust because there was sooo much chemistry and angst that was building up and it spilled over. I loved the casino scene too. AHHH I just love this entire book. The plot flowed nicely and there wasn't a huge cliffhanger. Overall, the ending was great, the writing was great and I can't wait to meet the other three sins.
I don't need to describe this much since the summary of the book does a good job at that. But here's some more details anyways!
Trinity is a fallen angel, she never really did quite fit in "Above". So, for the last 30 years, she's been on Earth as punishment. She gets an offer to go back home though if she's able to redeem the 7 sins. They aren't EXACTLY what she was expecting, though. Is she going to be able to fulfill her mission? Are things as they even appear, or are they not as black and white as she was brought up to know?
It annoyed me at first that the first 20% of the book was all Trinity's POV. I get it, but each new chapter just kept pointing out that it was Trinity, Trinity, Trinity. I love books with different POVs, but SOMEHOW I wish the others were mixed in somehow, or maybe the chapters were less broken up? It was just a weird thing that bugged me a bit, it didn't actually effect the story or anything, so I'm certainly not docking any points from my review about it! I'm just strange. 😂
It's off to an interesting start, though, and I'm jumping right in to the next books!
I have been anxious to read this book since I first saw the premise. A fallen angel has to earn her way back to heaven by winning over the embodiments of the seven sins. Well, sign me up! Once I started reading, I realized this was going to be my new favorite Sadie series. She did not disappoint! Trinity is enchanting. Even though she’s lived as a human for several decades, she’s a little on the naive side. She’s trusting and kind, and loves humanity and it’s quirks (and pop culture). We only meet 4 of the sins in this book, but they leave an impression. I love the way these modern men embody the sins the represent. I’m looking forward to seeing how the rest of the sins manifest. The chemistry is there for these characters, and there’s a particular steamy scene I rather enjoyed. I can’t wait to read more in this series and be introduced to the new characters. I highly recommend this one.
I voluntarily reviewed an advance beta copy of this book
What a fantastic start to a new series! Sadie Moss did such a great job giving a different representation of the seven deadly sins. We always have this negative connotation regarding sins, sinning, sinners, etc that it was nice to see a different take on this topic. The one thing that I really loved about this book was how the characters repeatedly surprised one another. Each was basing their assumptions according to well known stereotypes and generalizations. They were taught or had some experience that proved that that was the only possible way that the other could act or believe. It was refreshing to see a different side to each character, and I'm excited to be introduced to the other sins in the next book. I also have questions. Why Trinity? Why was she chosen for this particular job over anyone else? I'm dying to know the answer!
This was so, so great, I enjoyed it a lot, fast paced, good storyline, great chemistry between characters, funny and quirky. I was glued to the book from beginning to end, Trinity is so good and a little bit naive but she knows nothing else and her personality is quite charming and I can't wait to see how she changes throughout the next books. Beckett (greed), Remington (gluttony), Phoenix (sloth) and Ford (wrath) where fantastic and I already love them, they're funny and charming in their own way and l love how they manage to annoy each other so easily. Can't wait to start the second book, I am eager to know the other 3 brothers, it's going to be interesting...
Now for the narration; Nya Simpson and Bobby Gaglini performance was really good, I enjoyed both narrators so much, they brought the book to live so perfectly well.
Dark Kings by Sadie Moss is a paranormal reverse harem romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Nya Simpson and Alton Woods. This is the first book in the Feathers and Fate series.
I absolutely love Sadie's books! She does a great job pulling me into the story and I can't help but binge them in one sitting. I am loving the relationship that's blooming between Trinity, Beckett, Remington, Phoenix, and Ford. I really enjoyed getting all of their points of view throughout the book. It really brought the story to life.
I can't wait to dive into the next book in the series Wicked Game.
Nya and Alton did a great job on the narration. They both really know how to bring a story to life. I look forward to listening to more of their work in the future.
I would recommend this book if you love paranormal romances, reverse harems, or romantic suspense.
*Spoiler Alert* Fallen Angel Trinity (FMC) has been given a task. If she convinces The Seven Sins onto the side of Heaven (even though they are neutral. Not on the side of Heaven or Hell) then she gets to go home (To Heaven). The only complications are that they are not interested & theyre hot as hell!! That is until a problem threatens all of them and they end up helping her. Well beckett (Greed), Remi (Gluttony), Nix (Sloth) and Ford (Wrath). The other 3 brothers arent in this book yet. Oh boy is it a joyride of a laughs & steamy scenarios. The part in the sex club was off the charts hotness!!!! Blimey was it good. This first book in the series was totally fantastic and i enjoyed reading every minute of it. Loved It
Who wouldn't love a book about angels, demons and the seven sins? This book centres around a fallen angel trinity as she navigates a way for her to return to heaven. Tasked with the redemption of the seven sins, her work is cut out for her. I loved trins nativity and her genuine caring nature. The sins are deliciously amazing in their nature's and interactions between each other and trin. We get to meet four in this book and I look forward to meeting them all. The group dynamic of sins and angel is so electric and angsty. The story flows well and has you engaged within the story. I loved the adventure we get and the discovery of what the angel/demon world's are made up of. What a fantastic start, looking forward to book two!
Everything Sadie writes i read and normally love although this has only been given 4 stars by me as it was sugar sweet rather than the normal sizzle and spark that is everything Sadie Moss. It lacks some of the intrigue that made Unpredicatbels and Hidden Kingdom so good plus it also doesn't have the grit and determination that that the Soulkeepers series had. That said its an enjoyable easy read to while away the hours and i still want to see how the storey progresses. Towards the end of the book we started getting more of an idea of the storey and there were a couple of twists and turns but i am not gelling with Trinity the way i normally so with Sadie's FMC as i said she is sweet rather than feisty and kick ass.
Have to admit to being skeptical about an angel and the embodiment of the 7 sins but Sadie Moss is on my must read list so I gave it a go and loved it. It would have been easy to go the obvious route and have the sins easily displayed (gluttony being fat, sloth being dirty etc) I really liked that their sin was just an influence of their personality and each of them that we have met are different but fun. There are hints at a deeper reason behind Trin being set the task of redemption and I can't wait to find out what is going on. Mild cliffhanger but I'm sure we won't have to wait long to see that resolved
