My name is Tamsin Vale and I’m the last known fairy. Someone found out and that was why I was abducted, which I survived.
And my boyfriend freaking out after drinking my blood.
And all the drama with Mel’s family.
And getting the havens running, which we received so much flack over.
And… A lot. There’s been a lot and it’s sort of a miracle I’ve not been outed or taken out.
Despite the crazy, things are back on track with Darby and I’m enjoying my fun with Hudson. I wish I could say the same about Craftsman, but I can’t. Things aren’t going well there and I don’t know what to do about it.
I’m not sure it’s even up to me.
But there’s already so much on my overflowing plate I’m not sure I can handle him and what’s going on between us—or lack of it. My focus needs to be on Faerie and my people, the fair folk who need me to protect them.
So why does it hurt so much?
At least I have a lot to keep busy with, like our friends starting their business, and the Power Playoffs… Except both come with problems and threats that I can’t hide from or ignore.
So much for the rest of the semester being calm before summer break.
Artemis University is an ongoing hot burning reverse harem, university-age paranormal academy series with darker elements, strong language, violence, and a heroine who follows her own moral compass of what is right… And who she ends up giving her heart to.
Erin is a born Chicagoan who decided to state hop a bit, given she works from home. She currently resides in Georgia with her pup, Lord Vader Flynn. With an eclectic and addictive personality, there isn’t much that doesn’t interest her or she won’t pour herself into if it catches her fancy. She has always been interested in the darker aspects of life and mythologies—especially vampires, shifters, the occult, and anything paranormal.
To date, she has published more paranormal books than she can keep up with the characters for, in different genres with dedicated readers who await each release to her numerous series under any of the three Flynn names she writes.
I LUCKING FOVED this book!! Actually I Lucking Fove this entire series! Each book keeps me on the edge of my seat throughout the entire thing, I am constantly checking to see how far along I am and to make sure that I am not done yet! The Artemis University Series is my 2nd favorite next to the Seraphine Thomas series, they are both just SOOOOOO AUCKING FMAZING!
In my opinion any reader that enjoys reading RH MUST READ these 2 series, because they will BLOW YOUR MUCKING FIND!! Yes they are just that good......
Loved the beginning of this series but it's getting worse
The first 3 books of this series are awesome. As the series has progressed though I'm getting super annoyed with almost all the characters. The FMC goes from super smart and bada$$ to dumber than I could imagine. It's weird. Then, there's the men drama which is getting to be too much for me to deal with. Honestly if it wasn't for the unnecessary man drama I'd have loved this book which is annoying because again it seems so unnecessary. I'll read the next book in the series because I really want it to get back to being how good it was in the beginning. It sort of feels like the author is writing too many books per series. I had this problem with the siren series. Great in the beginning but too many books later and I'm getting annoyed with all the characters. I want the series to end while it's still good without the drama that really does not have to be there. I've had some dumb as f boyfriends in the past but I've never gone 4 for 4 which makes it seem like too too much for me.
Dang on it man I love this series and intentionally read it slow so I could savor it longer since I don't know when Erin will be able to write another book for this series.
The storyline is great, if a bit complicated and convoluted at times. Only thing I really hate is how it feels as if the author is writing for an audience full of imbeciles. Absolutely EVERY little thing is overly explained in long, drawn out excessive details that borders on ridiculous. For example, tamsin will think out her motivations for something, then tell someone her plan and then they’ll basically tell her what her motivations are back to her. It makes the books have a very choppy feel to them. She’d have a lot more room to advance the storyline in each book if she cut out and/or down a lot of the more unnecessary descriptions and explanations. If you use the right words, you don’t need to use as many to describe something
This book seemed like a rehash of book 4, very little story progression in either book aside from conflicts with paramours. She had one excellent rant that I really enjoyed right at the beginning of the book. It didn't make a lot of sense, but wow, I really missed that ranty, ragey Tamsin vibe - last good one was in book 2 with Security Chief Micropenis. I only wish she kept it through the rest of the book.
The story is making less sense, to an aggravating extent. Why exactly is she so obsessed with finishing high school, which is easy for teenagers to snooze through 'til graduation. Do they not have GEDs? (General Equivalency Diplomas, which she's clearly smart enough to pass at this point, you don't even need to know Geometry for it). She's in college and doing fine, nobody considers high school once you've taken a single college class.
Her argument that people will look down on her is really dumb. Clearly, nobody respects her anyway, including her lovers, despite her enormous amount of physical and magical power. WHO CARES ABOUT HIGH SCHOOL WHEN YOU'RE SAVING THE UNIVERSE?
Oh, and the conflicts with her sausage squad makes very little sense, either. Almost all the conflicts are completely out-of-the-blue for the sake of drama, except for one with Tall Dark and Dragon, which was just super obvious. I don't think Tam had an excuse to not recognize what was going on, when she had to take the Remedial Supernatural Species Class ages ago - they would definitely cover that special tingly feeling in the pants, especially so when she alluded to being a DRAGON hybrid for people to get off her back about declaring her species.
Honestly all the dragon stuff is really grating at this point. These people treat her like a sucker and she just keeps on taking it, with no negative impact for the abusive people taking advantage of her. I'm so over the people around her talking down to Tamsin about "let the grownups handle it" when they can't go five pages without screwing over Tamsin.
Give up on them all, Tamdog. I'm team Izzy, the only other responsible adult in this world aside from Tamsin, though they're both underage, somehow. Who needs a bunch of jerks who just take and take and take? Irma can be Tamsin's adopted mother, and she can live happily with the one person at the university who is never a burden to Tamsin - left her whole stupid family for Tamsin: no betrayals or backstabbing, and even keeps Tam's cooler stocked and her schedule planned out. KEEPER.
This, the FIFTH book in the series, ends year 1 of 6 in this university. I don't have a bachelor degree yet, so by with my high-school educated math education, I estimate at this trajectory Tamsin will graduate after another 4,567.35 books.
Oh PS: I'm a software engineer and I only took Algebra in high school, never Geometry, Trig, Calculus, Statistics, or anything else people incorrectly assume you need to know for people to not sneer at you as adults.
The first book or so we’re ok, but now the books feel poorly written and like an editor hasn’t read them at all. Grammar errors, dropped words, sentence structure issues abound. Good luck if you continue. The lead character is becoming more and more unlikable and I hope the author has a good therapist. The story lines feel like they have things that needs to be worked out.
If you want a story about love and fantasy this is not for you. Honestly the MC is such a jerk to those who are supposed to be her mates. They barely even do anything and get shunned out of her life? So nice to people who are helpless but mean to those who love her. Also impossible things get pulled out of no where all the time! You think your following the story until all of a sudden the MC had enough time build a whole new empire in the middle of everything. Makes no freakin sense.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
3.5 I like the series a lot, but this book had some grammar and editing issues that tripped me up enough to stop and notice them. Plus, it ended in a cliffhanger... cliffhangers like this drive me insane. I'm not a huge fan of the guys. I keep hoping someone better comes along for Tamsin.
Things are becoming clearer for Tam and her friends - though they are also becoming more dangerous. A good series so far with plenty of twists and turns.
We not only learn Lucca and Hudson are gay, but Hudson was cheating her with Lucca all this time, after all those BS about only wanting her, because been with another guy is no be with somebody? She ignores, don't know why.... and out of nowhere they are sucking each other.......If you like gay sex scene. Good for you. I don’t have any moral objections to MM activities in stories or in real life, I just don’t personally enjoy reading about them.
Tamsin is one badass fiesty fairy and it is so amazing to be along for the ride as we read of all her crazy adventures. This book had so much heartache and pain for Tamsin and I can't wait to read more.
I am really enjoying this series. I see how much of a hard time she is having but I don’t see her setting any boundaries with these guys. I’m a little perturbed at these so called adults that are trying to protect her. This ended on a cliffhanger though.
I'm going to keep this simple as I have not slept in over 72 hours (life of a hospital employee...yay). I LOVED this book. I am completely hooked on this series. I have been in a complete book slump since a lot of the series I love are a little slow to release. However, now I finally have a new series to freak out over. So... anyone know when the next is coming out LOL. Okay, now off to sleep. Peace out book peeps!
It is still really interesting and an engrossing read. I just feel that after 5 books we would be closer finding our more about what the heck is going on in faerie...
Also... the back and forth with the men is a bit much. The entire series so far has been a constant extreme. At some point it would be lovely to find a balance because it is getting rather tiresome to read. I will say I’m glad the MC finally (hopefully) hit rock bottom in her relationships, perhaps it will be a means to build back a better foundation and give her the support she needs to accept. I am bit over the MC constantly taking every thing on her shoulders and never resolving the previous issues. Like what the heck did she find in the magical storage? And if it so dang important, why’d she leave it behind for summer break?
For me this series just adds and adds but rarely is there a balance. The author’s ideas are great and vast, but there is too much “everything and the kitchen sink” going on. Oh so many side quests as it were.
I genuinely enjoy this series. As I said, the author has an amazing imagination and has built an interesting world. I just need there to be a bit more focus and fleshing out of ideas. And just stop the constant drama with the men save for the MC’s greater world. There is just too much drama in EVERY facet of the MC’s life... somewhere has to be a safe harbor.
The author wrote Tamsin so poorly I can’t seem to like the main character. Tamsin is way to emotional when it comes to her actions that half the time I’m pinching the bridge of my nose wondering why I’m still reading this series.
Especially when she’s SAing a guy mentally. (Book 4) Sorry but what? That’s okay? Tamsin is a huge hypocrite when it comes to treating men properly. I understand her upbringing was tough but by book five I would have thought she’d have more character progression. Instead she’s emotional and pushes the guys away so often it’s a wonder they even want to be around her. I’m rooting for the guys and her friends way more than I’m rooting for Tamsin. That’s the only reason I’m still reading this series.
Good storyline and creative world building. FMC has a “take no sh*t” attitude that can be OTT. Situations get preachy and repetitive (have completed the series). Second read through and still thought it was good. Definitely want to finish!
this was better than the previous ones, i did find this more interesting and i hope we will see more story procession. The ending left us intrigued and i just need the next one now
This is as far as I was able to make it into this series. This is book 5 out of like 26.
No doubt that this author is very talented. She is able to create a magnificent world and her writing absolutely sucks you in. I genuinely lost sleep because I HAD to stay up and keep finishing “just one more” chapter. That’s how good it is… until it isn’t.
I’ve run into the same issue as the House of Garner series by this author, which is arguably her best series (in my opinion) since that series is one that will stick in my head for years yet I still couldn’t finish it. The plot and relationships are all extremely repetitive and drawn out.
This is a reverseharem and the harem grows over the course of the series yet so little emphasis is put into those relationships that we almost completely forget about the men until they do something to piss her off. This doesn’t feel like a romance in any way.
So much detail is put into every little aspect of these stories EXCEPT for the romance aspect. We get paragraphs detailing everything about food and class work and studies yet barely anything on the relationships with her men.
Tamsin also gets so hurt and mad at the guys for things they didn’t even do. She treats the guys like garbage and blames them for everyone else’s wrongdoings. Two of her men admit they love her deeply and the very next page something happens and she’s completely done with them then it just moves onto her helping people build their businesses and whatnot while giving us a paint drying length of emphasis on all the details it entails.
I do not care about her various houses and all the renovations, or the catering company and the menus, or the modeling she’s doing for fashion. Chapters upon chapters are dedicated to inconsequential crap that can be talked about in a paragraph with minimal details while our imagination fills in the blanks in order to maintain our understanding of her relationships with these people. I want to read about her discovering new things about her powers as she grows, her work in saving Faerie, her building bonds with her men.
The only reason I stuck it out this long in the series is because I’m dying to find out the truth about fairies and to see her relationships grow with her men. Since that’s what this is supposed to be about anyway. A 26 book series and over half of them are just filler according to reviews and from what I’ve gathered in the measly 5 I’ve read. Out of the five, only two actually contributed to furthering the plot in any way. In each book only two or three things happen to actually push the story forward while everything else is fluff. I had to skim pages and chant blah blah blah in my head to get past garbage that has no real purpose in order to get to something worth continuing.
This is such a huge shame because this author’s books always start out with a huge bang. Tamsin started out as a strong and badass warrior with men who made you feel giddy and now it’s just boring and annoying.
My biggest gripe is how she treats Darby. He has been by her side and gone through bullying and snobbery just to stand by her side and she washes her hands with him over something he had nothing to do with. His grandfather hurt her and she blames HIM. She didn’t want to tell him the truth of what she is in order to protect him yet gets pissed when she finds out he may have sort of figured it out because he didn’t tell her even though she voiced not to talk about it. Her bestie did the same thing and she was so happy about it.
She also struggles to trust him with biting her because of what previously happened between them with that, yet when shit hits the fan she calls the vampire who is her enemy and lets HIM bite her neck. That was such a plot hole.
She has this “thing” where she won’t go without a condom with her men if they are screwing other women (which they aren’t) yet she goes bareback with all of them. She dumps Hudson because she finds out he has a betrothed (which he hates and had zero control over and was getting his father to revoke and he had nothing to do with the girl… ever) yet she’s sleeping with multiple men. Craftsman… yeah he was a douche but when he asked for time to figure his head out she gets pissed even though if she was to do that it would just be expected for them to cater to her. The relationships are a huge double standard and she isn’t good to them. She doesn’t deserve them and they deserve better.
Idk if I will finish this series because I wanted to read a reverse harem romance and this does not feel like one. It feels like a girl sleeping with several men and stringing them along until she has a reason to hurt them while painting herself as the victim.
Also the spice sucks. A lot is fade to black (which is stupid for a RH) or there is barely any detail.
Please note the following review encompasses the first six books of the SERIES. As each book depends on the prior books, I am not reviewing each individually to cut down on repetition. Following this review, I will be reviewing the series in batches of 5, with a final end review of the series as a whole.
As always, I will endeavor to minimize spoilers, but please read at your own risk.
First off, to readers who are just looking at this series. I was one of you. I understand the intimidation you likely feel seeing that this is a 26 freakin book series. For ages, I disregarded this series based on this fact, because, let's face it. That is a time commitment. However, I urge you to not be me. Be like Mikey (IYKYK).
I was utterly hooked from the first chapter. Artemis University is unlike any other campus. Sure, you find some similarities. You have the Queen B and her squad of mean girls. You have the sleazy guys who think they deserve for the hot chick to fall face forward in their laps. You have the beaten down, downtrodden, unpopular smart kids.
But you also have a headmaster at odds with corrupt school board members. You have professors who want to break free (from family, societal expectations, powerlessness, and more.) You have ride or die besties.
You have Tamsin. Who knows nothing about the supernatural world she's been brought (unwillingly) into, even though she has a dragon BFF. Tamsin and her unwavering loyalty, resolute courage, and utter willingness to do whatever is necessary to both be the change and enforce the change. She takes on all comers, and quite frankly, outclassed all of them. She is an utterly delightful main character, and I cannot wait to see how she continues to grow and develop. I have a gut feeling that she is going to continue to surprise me.
You have Tamsin's men. I'm not calling them out by name simply because I am enjoying the vicarious ride to find out who will make the cut. I know a couple, but others … who knows? I'm sure I will eventually find out. But mark my words, each of them are delectable.
This series was sold to me as a romance, and there are certain … expectations … for titles under that umbrella. I'm telling you now. Do not read this for the smut. I am not saying there is no smut. I am not saying that the given smut is bad. I am saying that so far, the author has skillfully woven the smut into the plot, and is only rarely gratuitous. This is a series for fans of riddles within puzzles within dreams. There is a metric frakton of plot points to keep you occupied, and the layers of each character make Shrek look like a glass tabletop. 6 books in and I continue to find surprises under the layers I'm slowly peeling away page by page. I told you. I'm hooked.
I am calling this first review here. Expect to find me extolling the phenomenal world this author has created, as well as some important plot notes that may intrigue you. But before I go, I do want to add a content warning of sorts because mental health matters. Contained in the story so far, you will find past trauma (physically, emotionally, and smexually.) There are forced abductions, bullying outside of the harem, references to ongoing trafficking, violence, attempted forced mating and SA, family disconnect and related trauma from both sides, and discussion of forced breeding. Please know your limits and read responsibly.
My heart, my heart... 😭😭😭 I feel so much for our girl. Tasmin has been through so much and has had so much trauma. I find myself getting irritated with her at times but then remember that she is surviving and that is what trauma survivors do. She doesn’t trust easily, fights for others she feels can’t and often does not forgive, making decisions out of reaction and not logic. She has so many deep beliefs and ave fears that it hinders her at times in relationship developments. She is so sure people are going to leave and screw her over that she when people make mistakes she uses it to push them away in protection mode. Tasmin is so relatable. Things don’t come easy to her. Her guys aren’t perfect. She is both strong and vulnerable. She doesn’t realize the light she has and the people she draws to her. She under values herself.
Tasmin continues to make allies and enemies. The dragons are more on her side and she begins to trust some adults to help her take care of things as she finally admits she can’t do it all on her own. Craftsman... not really sure what his deal is in the beginning and it seems like his excuse at the end is just that... he has changed the most from the books. I understand her hurt because he was the first she connected with and he withdraws and to her that is abandonment. Hudson continues to keep things from her which just sets off her trust issues and Luca started to get his foot in the dirt only for her to push him away from keeping things as well. To be fair though I’m not sure when or how she expected them to tell her. She is constantly busy and was avoiding Hudson after he dumbly kept his “engagement “ a secret. Hudson needs to man up. Darby I think just got sorted into the bunch because she was already so tired, hurt and in survival mode that she just pushed him away as well. He kept that he knew what she was... but so was she. I think he will be the first she forgives once she calms down, heals her energy and quits running.
The ending was wow!!! Hurting and almost a cluster, but still a bit of a cluster. Need to know more and hopeful that she opens herself back up. Some therapy wouldn’t hurt either!
alright y’all, i can not tell you how much i love this series!! it has been quite a bit since an author has pulled me into a world so quickly and efficiently. and let’s not even begin with how Ms. Flynn kept me sucked in for the whole ride.
let’s be real for a second, it’s almost 1 am and apart from sleeping about 6 hours, i’ve read all five books in the last 24 hours, no joke. i started reading the first book last night, finished half of the second book, and then slept for a bit. but as soon as i woke up again, i continued and didn’t stop.
is this book perfect? of course not. what do you expect from an author who releases as quickly as she does and offers KU? there are minor grammar/ spelling errors, a little inconsistencies with the plot, but man is it worth it!
my brain is total mush. at this point in a series, i usually start to lose interest and hope for maaaybe 2-3 (AT THE MOST) more books with an easy finish & HEA. so when i first heard of this series and that the author planned TWENTY FIVE BOOKS total, i was like nope, not for me. however, i finally decided to give it a try and am so so glad i did. i can totally see me devouring 20 more of these books and cannot wait to see what happens next.
seriously, i could go on and on about how absolutely fantastic this is (the writing, world building, foreshadowing, and god how i love the FMC) but we would be here literally forever.
basically, just read it. really, at least give it a try. if it’s not for you, just don’t finish it and you haven’t lost anything but some time. however, if it is for you, you will be so glad you did.
Erin R. Flynn is really setting herself up to be one of my favourite authors!
Tamsin Vale is a strong (if slightly emotionally stunted) heroine who is navigating a new world with an impressive amount of responsibilities on her shoulders and her love life is taking some hits. But this is exactly why i love Erin R. Flynn! She incorporates all types and forms of relationships in her stories and includes breakups, heartbreak, and angst so that when characters finally reach a sense of equilibrium you feel like they really worked for it and went through a process to get there.
In Thwarting Cheaters the reader can achieve a sense of justice in some parts, and also appreciate that a characters life is not always about getting "the win", for me this makes the story that much more satisfying and really pulls me in and makes me want to keep reading more books (thank the reading gods there are 12 books in the Seraphine series instead of the 5 in Tamsin's story, I NEED MORE!).
For readers who enjoy sexy times in books and follow reviews to only really get a sense of the sex in the stories (i'd be lying if i said i wasn't one of them), i'd rate the quality and consistency at a 3/5, it was completely proportionate to the story though not nearly as hot or kinky as Erin can write. For me this didn't detract from the story as i was way more engrossed in Tamsin's development as a character and the various twists and turns.
And for anyone who wants to know Hudson is my favourite though I would honestly punch him in the dick for how dense he can be (and then accept a lot of makeup sex and make him grovel for a bit).
Where to begin as these books are packed with the events in Tamsin's day to day life. The book starts with the soiree for the witches designs where Tamsin again sticks up for someone being bullied. Not a student this time but a dragon. Lady Jane, is a beautiful woman but her mate's true love advises her on clothing, none of which is flattering. Hearing Lady Jane's thoughts has her confronting the man and boy does that start some interesting developments. Of course that's not the only thing that happens at that party.
Then there's the Power Playoffs, Julian Craftsman as her advisor wants her to withdraw, since the rules have been changed to try to out her species for all to see. Tamsin on the other hand is preparing with the help of Mel to maybe win if she's smart about it. Although that whole debacle opens yet another can of worms.
Now aside from the kicking butt that occurs, there are more developments with her love life. She's mad at Craftsman, then there's some interesting things with Hudson and Lucca, I didn't see that one coming. The other thing involving them, well I did mostly figure that one out. Have I mentioned Hudson's parents are pretty awesome?
Some circumstances are kind of dire and there's things with the Rothchild Clan that had me in tears. Then more with Darby and his family. I mean dang can't this girl catch a break.
More interesting projects for Tamsin to invest in, and the 'book' at the villa in Spain had me crying once more.
I am already starting the next book in this series, I think I may be addicted.
My Thoughts Good God, so much happens in this book. Ignoring how busy Tamsin stays with all kinds of things directly or indirectly, her personal life just sort of implodes. It's really quite heartbreaking.
About the Characters Tamsin does what she feels necessary and ultimately takes care of herself. Craftsman struggles personally, putting strain on his relationship with Tamsin as well as putting distance between them. Hudson shares some rather important, though not surprising, information that upsets Tamsin. Darby is the only bright spot, though they do have their own struggles.
Things I Liked I love the power playoffs. Tamsin gets to really show what she's capable of and stick it to some well deserving students. Tamsin does something vital for some dragon royals and it results in great respect from the dragon community.
Thing I Didn't Like I don't think there's anything I particularly didn't like about the book (outside of the persistent frustration with the monologuing and disbelief her heritage isn't public knowledge by now), but there are things that made me sad. A teacher traumatizes Tamsin, she's nearly busted on a huge scale, and she ends up feeling abandoned and lied to all around.
More Thoughts I understand the whys of it all - story progression and character growth - but it all seems pretty soul crushing. Plus I'm really rooting for Hudson, Darby, and Craftsman, but things aren't looking great.
Does it standalone? No.
Bottom Line This chapter in the series propels things forward, but leaves Tamsin feeling very alone in the world.
Fighting the big fights n running away from personal problems
I have to say, that Power Play competition was AAHHHHHMAAZIIINGG!!! I love a good justified revenging!!!! 😈 Good times. I really hated that people made her feel like a monster, especially Craftsman. I was also upset that Hudson, Lucca, n Darby kept some secrets from her that she should've known. I felt like Tamsin should've told them tho. I feel more like she's running away from her feelings n she's been incredibly selfish to the people she supposedly loves. Two have told her they love her but she's never said it back. When Darby n craftsman has to del with traumatizing facts about their families she wasnt even there for them, she just also blamed them. She's never taken the time to even get to know the guys. I get she has slot going on but she's just selfish in that respect. Deciding to end things every time something goes wrong...I can't even. 😔
I was pretty disgusted with collins. I can feel tamsin unraveling as this book went along. One thing after another on her fragile teenage psyche n she's close to breaking. Has broken, a few times this book. This poor girl has been thru so much. Pretty disappointed in the vogels for trying to stop tamsin n Hudson from being together.
Sad, depressing times but it was cool seeing tamsin be so badass.
I don’t even know what to think. That’s was a lot. My heart is broken. I want her to make up with the guys but I don’t see how she can emotionally and mentally at this point. She is both mature and immature. The guys didn’t mean to mess up and it just really sucked that circumstances kept pushing her away from them faster than any of them ( her included) could keep up with. I don’t know how the author will handle things going forward so it’s my hope that their is hope for them all. She has issues she needs to work through cause nothing done by the guys really deserved a write off. Just too much is going on and too many people want her input. I hope the author will reasonably adjust this in the next books. It’s no wonder she is broke it’s too much and she just threw away her foundation to keep her anchored. It’s wonderful the things that she is accomplishing in the supe world but it’s too much. Everything just will have to stop. maybe she should just consider being tutored going forward. Just go on lockdown for a semester. Get her lessons via remote and turn in assignments. Anyway I’m sooooo out of my mind with that betrayal from the vamp dean. Need next book asap
One thing that I love about this book is it the author has taken a feminist viewpoint and often allows for the main character to take a stand for what she believes in. However, I am having a problem with the way the author allows this to affect the relationships of her characters. For every slight or miscommunication the main character has a drastic recourse and I find it difficult to root for romances when the spark has faded, in my opinion due to all of the on again off again drama. I don’t want to pile on because I do think this is a book with a lot of potential, but as far as sex scenes go I have to say that I also find the dynamics confusing. The author has diverted the natural inclinations of the males in this story when I feel that she could’ve just as easily remain true to her characters personalities in the bedroom while having a strong protagonist. I have found many great examples of this like in Curse of the Gods by Jaymin Eve. Information the premise of the book is very good but the author needs a good editor and a better grasp on romances and sex scenes.
