Eve Miller is out of options. Between rent, and her sister's medical debts, she's drowning. She needs money, now, and she only has one card left to play.
Her virginity.
Ian Hunt has specific tastes. The feisty student is perfect. He has to have her.
His offer is simple. Six figures. Thirty days. Him introducing her to every kind of pleasure.
It’s ridiculous. The British businessman is richer than sin and hotter than hell. He can have any woman he wants. Why her?
And why is she desperate to fulfill his every desire? There's something about his dark eyes, his deep voice, his firm touch… her body knows something she doesn't. It responds for her.
Yes. One month as his. Then they part.
But what happens when he decides he hasn't had enough?
Crystal Kaswell is the author of the Sinful Serenade series. She writes steamy new adult romance with flawed characters. She loves police procedurals, tea, and The Hunger Games series. She lives in Portland, OR with her husband.
I can not help thinking/ feeling that this book is copy of FSOG. Dirty Desires have more character development, but the sex/ BDSM aspect is a copy of FSOG. Less steamy.
The story is dragging without any real twist/ plot. I listened until 8th hour of the audiobook. Then I lost my interest. I really try to connect with the characters.
When the blurb and cover do a disservice to the book!
Ok this is a tricky one to review if I'm being honest. Firstly this book surprised me in a lot of ways that I wasn't expecting. The banter between the h and H was hilarious and refreshing (for the most part)
The first part of this book (maybe 45%) was easily 5 stars for me. I loved the banter, the sexual tension and I just really loved Ian (he's filthy and I really loved his sense of humour, plus I kept imagining he looked like Regé-Jean Page). Eve for the most part was also great but I had a hard time reconciling that she was 18 with the way she spoke but then I guess if you're running with the whole virgin trope 18 would be the most believable but in saying that 21-22 would have worked too.
So what went wrong? well nothing HUGE but just little things that annoyed me like...
- The H's brother and friends kept mentioning his other arrangements, some of them with virgins and others not but it really icked me out that they mentioned it so often in front of the h. Imagine you're in an arrangement with a guy who you are definitely falling for and you are reminded frequently that you aren't his first virgin (sure he never paid the others but there were gifts and similar contracts) it just kind of took the shine off the set up for me and made him seem a bit predatory (why so into virgins mate?)
- The h has a blog and writes about the H in it. Writes about a H who was in the military and specialised in intelligence, specifically the digital kind. Pretty sure you don't have to connect too many dots to work out how that got messy.
- While I loved the banter between the H and h initially sometimes it felt disjointed and forced and I didn't really enjoy that the h said "Oh" to almost everything scandalous the H said to her like come on hun, you are majoring in literature at university, you can do better than that.
Not huge issues for an otherwise really sexy and surprisingly funny book which was quite refreshing for this particular trope.
I've been itching to read Ians book since we met him in Dirty Husband and boy was he worth the wait! Eve is 18 working as a bartender in a shitty strip club to keep her and and twin sister going. Her sister Addie has suffered with some mental health issues and with not parents around Eve has taken on the role as sister/parent/protector/provider. She will do anything to keep her sister from falling under again even selling her Virginity to the highest bidder. Eve writes a blog called Original Sin where she openly expresses her thoughts for the world to see and who should stubble upon this but none other then sexy alpha male Ian Hunt. Ian has been hooked on Eves blog for months and when he sees she is contemplating selling her V card to someone he won't rest untill that someone is him. He mets her and offers her a life changing amount in exchange for 30 days in his company. They will then part ways and will never met again. Can they both stick to the arrangement or are the stakes too high for them to both walk away? Omg Ian was every bit as hot as I had imagined he would be. He dark and brooding and is quite a closed off chap. Then there is Eve. I adored how different eve was to the other ladies in the Dirty series. Shes sassy and different, dyes her hair teal and wears what the hell she wants including her much loved combat boots. She wears her image like an amour to protect herself yet she was deep and quite insiteful. She would totally fit in with the ladies in the Inked series and it was refreshing to see a girl like her in a story with a well put together billionaire. I enjoyed Tys part in the story and am hopeful that he is getting his own story too (fingers crossed) the only reason for this not being a 5star was it felt a little creepy/stalkerish to start with as Eve doesn't know Ians been following her blog but it didn't put me off reading. Another fab addition to the Dirty series
The banter is perfect. They're both so multidimensional, great entertaining characters. I love how he always wears suits and keeps telling her it's casual once he removes the tie. I love how he freely admits how much he talks about her to his friends and family. The best part is his obsession began with her mind, long before he knew what she looked like. He chose her for her heart and mind.
When she realized he knew about Original Sin, it reminded me of Katsa and Po in Graceling. When she discovered Po could read her mind so he told her every thought about her. In this case Ian gave her everything in his journal. Everything.
Quotes:
It's something about her. That tender heart wrapped in a fuck off package.
"Do you always help potential enemies into their seats?" He nods. "Harder to kill sitting down."
You don't seem to need help with women. You've been photographed with lots. Women more beautiful than I am. More successful. Ian: I don't know any women more beautiful than you are.
"Don't worry. I won't ask you to call me Daddy." My cheeks flush. "It's not my kink. But you can. If you want." "If I want?" He nods. "There's no shame in wanting someone to take care of you. Especially if you've never had that. Especially if you're usually taking care of the world."
A few look at us curiously. What is that unusual young girl doing with that older man? It's not like I can pass for her father. But it's not like I'm the only man here with a younger woman. Maybe it's wrong. Maybe I'm taking advantage of her inexperience. Maybe it's completely fucked up. I don't care. I'm careful with her heart. I can't say the same for anyone else.
"No. I don't like you because of your hair or tattoos. I like your hair and tattoos because I like you."
She's in my room. My space. My life. She's in my room and I want to keep her here. I want to tie her to the fucking bed so I can fuck her senseless. And then talk to her all goddamn night.
I originally gave this book 3 stars, but the more I think about it and the more I let it sit, this book is actually quite rubbish. I usually don't bother rating books I read for free off of Prime Reading because I usually know what I'm getting isn't the best, but I've been surprised before so I took a chance.
When the blurb said that Eve was 18, I paused but went ahead because age gaps are a guilty pleasure of mine. It can be done well, I've seen it done well. This? Was not done well. Not only was Eve 18, but she was BARELY out of high school when this book starts. She thinks she's smarter than she is but when it came to actually being able to articulate or respond to anything Ian said, it's always just "Oh." "I want to fuck you senseless." "Oh." REALLY? That's the best she could come up with? I'd have taken, "Cool, same" over another goddamn "Oh." Eve was supposed to be goth and punk rock and it's supposed to be this big thing, but she's living in New York where "alternative" looks are part of the every day norm. The fact that her looks and her stupid high heel combat boots (ah yes, so fucking punk) felt fetishized. Ian fetishized her the entire fucking story. It wasn't sexy nor was it romantic.
The fact that everyone, but Ian's brother (who I actually really liked and would read his story) didn't bat an eye that she was 18-FRESH OUT OF HIGH SCHOOL- seemed a little creepy and honestly, these are the people I wouldn't want to be around. Then again, the rich have their own set of rules so I guess that was fitting for this book. Just another rich dude preying on a vulnerable poor barely legal girl and can make her problems disappear if she sleeps with him. That's the only reason I can think as to why this book as such high ratings is the amount of wish fulfillment is in this book.
I could also talk about how deeply disturbing it is and how it reeks of racist undertones to have Ian be a Black man, but I'm not wasting my time on that. Romance authors barely touch on the nuances of race in their stories, so why fucking bother.
The writing was also pretentious as hell the more I think about it. This wasn't good, and as interested as I am in Tyler's story, I just can't be bothered to read another one of her stories.
This is the fourth book in Dirty Rich but is read as a standalone. This is Eve and Ian's story. She is broke and drowning in her sister's medical debt. She is desperate and the only option she has is to sell her V card. Thirty days , six figures and unlimited pleasure. Ian is still broken from his messy divorce and has lost all trust in women and love. An online diary and a glimpse into a women's soul captures his attention and eventually his heart. This was a beautiful love story that has a lot of drama and plenty of twists. A good read that I read as an arc and voluntarily chose to review.
3.5 *'s - This was my first book by Crystal Kaswell & it definitely won’t be my last! Dirty Desires is an age-gap, billionaire, virgin romance. I loved what a strong alpha male Ian was & how independent & quick witted Eve was. They had great chemistry right from the beginning! I did feel like the storyline began to drag on a bit, otherwise it was a fun read & I look forward to reading more from this author in the future.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I liked Eve, a bar maid who a mature 18 year old and she meets Ian, who is twice her age, after he reads online that she is desperate for money and has been offered money for her virginity by a man who frequents the bar. Ian decides he should be the one and sets out to get her.
Eve is not the typical 5ft 7 slim beauty you usually read about, she is a punk, short young teenager. I liked her but Ian, twice her age with issues, wasn’t my ‘cup of tea’ and I wasn’t keen on the storyline, I skipped quite a lot as i was bored.
Kaswell does not disappoint! Another great book. The only reason I gave it four stars is because it felt choppy to me and I struggled with that. But it was really great! Read and enjoy!!
18-year-old Eve is working at a strip club as a bartender just trying to scrape by when 36-year-old and walks in with a proposition: give him every single one of her firsts sexually and he’ll pay her a half $1 million. This isn’t the first time Eve’s been propositioned. It happens all the time. It’s not even the first time someone’s propositioned her for her virginity, a doctor has recently offered her five figures for the privilege. But the doctor isn’t Ian—The divorced Black former RAF pilot, turned spy, and now a tech billionaire. He makes Eve’s blood run wild and she longs to be under his control. It’s an arrangement. 30 days all of her firsts. No strings. It’s never gonna work out that way.

I don’t know what I expected with this book. I’ll tell you right now my expectations were not high. But I still was disappointed. This book wasn’t good. Not at all.
The writing was very jerky. Like super Duper Uber jerky. So many fragments. So many one or two word paragraphs. At times it felt like I was reading a shopping list. And a very cynical part of me wonders if it’s just a way for the author to expand the page count to get more money out of Kindle unlimited. Because it was so very list-like. There is a time and place for that type of writing style, and it can work in an action scene but when every single major scene has more one sentence and fragment paragraphs then multi sentence paragraphs it becomes very difficult to read.
Worse, the character voices were so similar I couldn’t really tell the difference between Ian and Eve when we were in their heads. And their thoughts were so jumbled and unfleshed out that I had difficulties following the action and what was going on. It was confusing.
This book was severely under written. It felt like I was reading a first draft of a novel. Not something that has been published for ages and has gone through multiple revisions. Because the book was so severely under written, I felt like the characters were under developed and I really had a hard time following why these two characters who have such disparate life experiences would be interested in each other romantically. Sure, I could totally get the lust-factor. I mean, Ian looks like Idris Elba. Who doesn’t love Idris Elba? And Eve is very much a manic Pixie dream girl complete with the not like other girls goth demeanor and super into classical literature type of things. But archetypes do not a character make. They need more than just manic Pixie dream girl or brooding British billionaire with trust issues. The characters were very two dimensional.
And because they were so two dimensional I really had a hard time buying the romance. Even the sex scenes were written in that very list like way. And they weren’t terribly sexy because of that. I wanted more thoughts and feelings. I wanted more action. I wanted more just more. And because the relationship was entirely based around sex or at least that’s what we saw I couldn’t really root for them to end up together.
I also had a hard time buying that Eve was super intellectual when the majority of her conversation with Ian was the word “oh.” Her blog entries were very stream of consciousness and not terribly well written stream of consciousness if that makes any sense. Definitely not the type of writing that I would expect to see from somebody who is supposed to be super great at blogging and writing. Honestly I wrote better back in my livejournal days.
I don’t know. I just was disappointed with this book. The story was paper thin. The conflict was way too easily solved. The writing was incredibly difficult to read and not very good. I’m having a hard time finding anything good about this book. And so for that…
I adore Crystal's books. I've read them all. And while I love the tatoo artists and rock stars, I adore the broken, angsty men of the Dirty world so much and Ian Hunter is no exception!!
So d@mn hot!
Could be the weakness for tall dominant men.
But Ian is only part of the appeal of this book.
Eve. I adore Eve. She is a kick @ss b!tch! She may only be 18 but she is far older than that inside. I love her relationship with her sister. She is definitely New York, through and through. She owns her choices.
I just absolutely positively floved this book!!
Steamy, steamy, steamy!!
Ian is determined their arrangement will only last 30 days...even if Eve has gotten under his skin in a way no other woman has...
Men are so determined to delude themselves.
Their journey is definitely rocky but the ride is so worth it!!
I received a review copy. I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
Ian and Eve have so so many secrets......secrets that tear them apart. Secrets that change things. But these secrets also bring them back together.
This book was amazing. You can help but love these two broken souls. Both have serious trust issues. They both need control but in different ways. Their chemistry is explosive, and you can’t help but get caught in it.
This book has to be my favourite in this whole series. It’s raw and real and makes you want to find that person that rips you open and then sews you back together again. Epic

“His fingers skim my skin. A soft line down my spine. The smooth friction of his wet skin. The coldness of the ice. Warmer and warmer, until it’s only heat. Until I’m only heat.”
3/5 Stars!
There’s a lot to like about this book. Namely, it’s steamy, it’s quirky, and a mix of different genres and tropes. They made the book really unique in a way that I didn’t expect from a billionaire romance.
This book is about a girl named Eve, who’s been working hard everyday to stay afloat. However, working at a bar to support her sister is not working out as well as she had previously hoped. An offer comes to her by way of the very hot, very wealthy, Ian Hunt, to spend just a month with him in exchange for an amount of money that guarantees Eve the freedom she’s been hoping for, she’s can’t say yes fast enough. All it would cost her is her virginity, and maybe a broken heart.
I have two favorite things about this book. The first being the main character, Eve. She is pretty unlike most billionaire romance heroines I’ve seen and I think she was well-written. She’s this very punk boarder-line scene girl who is just obsessed with feminist literature. I mean- it’s kinda just one book, but she does love it a lot. She’s not a character that everyone could relate to and I really like that she was a bit edgier and a bit more unique. I wouldn’t say that I was really convinced of her age though.
See, she’s eighteen and Ian Hunt…well isn’t. Now I love an age gap romance, but you really have to sell me on it. This book got about halfway to selling me on it. I couldn’t really buy that she was eighteen at any point. The idea that she wasn’t at least in her twenties just didn’t seem plausible. Another thing is that I felt that with the age gap being as big as it is, it should have played a bigger part in the plot than it was. The plot seems to be aware of how unusual the fact that Ian is twice Eve’s age, but doesn’t really incorporate it into the plot as much as it should? Like- all the characters kind of acknowledge it as being alarming, but don’t actually do anything about it? I felt like there could have been more angst squeezed out of this.
This aside, the other thing I really liked about this was the “meet-cute” of it, not going to give it away. But I liked how it wasn’t something that I’d read before and that it’s not strictly romantic. Like- it’s definitely not very appropriate, but it really makes the story feel original. It feels right for these characters and it helps the book stand out.
Starting with this really fun premise, the rest of the story plays out just how you want it to. Fast, then slow, and fast again until it’s over before you realize you’ve been reading for hours. There’s lot of fun angst all the way through and plenty of steam for every moment in between. I thought the pacing was actually really great considering that I never got bored with the book. Even in scenes where Eve and Ian aren’t together, their chemistry has a way of lingering in the way they think about each other. I’m really glad that this book was told in dual P.O.V, they both had really distinct voices as narrators with two view point that I loved looking at.
I’m also a fan of the supporting cast in this book. Eve’s sister was a particular favorite of mine. She just seemed to stand out and has a story I’d love to read about. Same goes for Ian’s assistant actually. But it definitely seems like Ian’s brother is just a hero waiting to happen…
TL;DR: Through all this book’s crazy turns, it’s a stand-out and break from the standard billionaire romance. It plays with expectations a little more and just goes a smidgen edgier than you’d expect. Balanced with a level of heat that fills the pages, this romance is a worthy addition to an excellent series.

ARC was given to me by author through booksprout. My review is given voluntarily.
I gave this book 5 stars. Dirty Desires is the 4th book in the Dirty series by Crystal Kaswell.
So this story is about an older man and younger woman. It's an interracial relationship that starts as a contract to take her v-card, but becomes so much more in the end. Ian is a dominant rich billionaire man that knows what he wants and he likes Hot AF dirty sex with a little kink. He becomes obsessively determined to be the first man to touch Eve, and introduce her into his world of submissive pleasures!!! Eve is a strong young woman that has suffered a lot in her life. She needs the money desperately! She is smart, punk, stubborn, hard working young lady that is protective of her sister, and unapologetically herself. I loved Eve's character so much!!! There's definitely emotional, heartbreak pain that both have suffered, but Ian has really gotten his heart broken, and it left him with a locked heart, and trust issues. Them together have crazy chemistry, hot sex....wowzza. This book is on fire🔥🔥🔥🔥 I was hooked on this book from the very first page. I've read many of this author's work, but this was the first book in her Dirty series I've read. I'm definitely digging this Business Billionaire Men's world she has created for us. The other characters are really good too, we have Eve's sister (who is the complete opposite in everything from Eve) and Ian's brother Ty (who is very handsome but also different from his brother). I can't wait for Ty's story, and I'm definitely going back to read Shepard's story which is book 3 "Dirty Husband". This book has no cliffhangers, and in the end love conquerors all obstacles!
This is the fourth book in the Dirty series, featuring Ian Hunt (Shep’s friend) and the “punk rock princess Eve”, so it was appealing to me from the start. I couldn’t let myself to stop reading, I loved it that much. Eve works as bartender at a strip club, she does it because she needs money desperately to sustain her twin sister and herself. She loves her sister, Addie fiercely and it’s a very nice relationship the one they both have. Eve has this public blog she thinks no one reads, Original Sin, in which she pours her thoughts, feelings, fears and talks about books, mainly her fav one. Enter Ian Hunt, aka Tall, Dark and Handsome. He’s got money to last a couple lifetimes and a few traumas to match it, as in his trust issues due his divorce. He reads Eve’s blog, starts to obsess over it, over her, and when he reads that she’s got an offer from an old man to take her virginity for money? He enrages, uses his spy talent to find her and offer her a deal, 30 days for half a million. It doesn’t matter he’s twice her age, she’s desperate, she already thought to accept the old man’s offer, with her truly finding Ian undeniably attractive makes it hard to resist so he signs the contract. Ian thinks he’ll have enough with their deal, she thinks the money will be worth the pain if he breaks her heart, but in the end none of them would be able to deny that it may have started as a contract, but their feelings are very much real. Thing is, it’ll won’t be easy to overcome their fears and find their way to a happily ever after. This book is well written. I received this book as part of the ARC team and I’m voluntarily leaving my opinion.
I’ve been looking forward to seeing what it would take to bring Ian Hunt to his knees. Turns out, it wasnt anything like I was expecting. As a black man of British descent, Ian is definitely not your typical billionaire hero. Which ties in well with the fact that Eve’s edgy punk aesthetic is equally unusual for a heroine in the genre. These two definitely exist in their own bubble, and nobody from the outside was bursting that bubble. Ian and Eve are very different from one another. From their ages to their different ethnicities to their very different socio-economic statuses, even their previous relationship experiences. And through it all, nobody makes any kind of a big deal about any of those. I didn’t find that to be very realistic. I kind of think the author passed over these naturally built-in opportunities for drama. However, once I suspended my disbelief, I was able to settle in and enjoy watching these two get to know one another and fall in love. They certainly have more than their fair share of chemistry together. Though, the toxic mistrust and jealousy shown in the epilogue kind of scares the crap out of me. Overall, I enjoyed this story. A lot more than I probably should have considering the things that didn’t work for me about it. I received a complimentary copy of this book through Booksprout.
I adored this book! I thought that Eve and Ian were both amazing characters. Complex, lovable and with such incredible chemistry that I am surprised that this book didn't singe my hands as I was reading it!! This book checked all the boxes for me: A Strong, Realistic and Quirky Heroine ✔ A Hot, Dirty Talking Hero with a Killer Accent ✔ Age Gap ✔ Scorching Heat & Sizzling Sparks✔ Drama ✔ Intense Emotions ✔ Clever Banter ✔ A hint of the Forbidden ✔ and the absolute icing on the cake: A Well Written, Captivating and Moving Story ✔✔✔ Truly an excellent read!! This is my sincere review that I am posting of my own accord.
Amazing story, a lot of fill that didn’t need to be there in order for the story to still be incredible. In fact, I’d say as much as 50% of the book is just fill that adds words rather than adding to the story.
That’s the biggest reason this book gets a 4*. There’s nothing that I would call triggering or dark, tiny amounts of bondage, nothing graphic though. Good entry level book if you’re looking to try something that isn’t “standard” or “typical”.
Overall I liked this book. Eve is just 18 and is working the bar at the strip club. Ian is a guy that offers to pay her for her virginity. Things were going well until a problem happens. This where I had trouble because she got so mad over something so silly. Thankfully in the end it all works out though.
This is a standalone book but it’s the fourth instalment and my first read in this series. I am voluntarily reviewing an advanced reader copy of this book.
Eve is the soul provider for her younger twin sister Addie who suffers from anxiety, she is determined to make sure her sister is cared for especially after the breakdown she suffered previously, in that case she was in need of a lot of medical assistance and for which Eve is still paying for. She will do anything that she can to stop her falling again into depression. Eve is only eighteen years old and working in a strip bar serving drinks but things are becoming impossible to manage, the debt is crippling her. Her only way to decompress is her blog so when she shares the story of a man offering her money for her virginity so when one her biggest fans offers her an insane amount of money for thirty days and to be her first she can finally see a way out the hell that is her life and really take care of her twin sister. She wasn’t looking nor did she want love when this arrangement started but she has fallen hard for Ian so where will that leave her at the end of the thirty days, could they have something real after they agreed to no strings?
Ian Hunt is a man in a great deal of pain after suffering from a divorce that has left him a cold shell when it comes to emotions and love, he’s vowed never to take the chance again but when he comes across an online blog he becomes obsessed with reading about this woman’s life and her thoughts. It’s when he reads about a man offering her money for her virginity that he decides he needs to find this woman that has captivated him, he’s a trained military man who also happens to be a billionaire so has no trouble finding Eve. To see her in person captivates him in a way he wasn’t really expecting, everything from her real coloured hair to her goth themed outfits he wants it all and to experience all her firsts with her. Ian doesn’t want love but he does want Eve so offers her more money than she could ever dream of for thirty days with him, no strings, no falling in love and certainly no future together. Can Ian really let her go at the end of the thirty days together or move past the hurt and scars he keeps hidden along with his heart and grab the chance of a happily ever after?
This was an emotional, twisty and turny read that kept me engrossed from the very first paragraph. All of the surrounding characters add a lot to the story. I relatively new to Crystal Kaswell but from what I have read now and previously she’s one of the best at age gap romance with a little bad boy in the mix and her books are always steamy. Highly recommended read. 5* Read.
I liked this story. There was a lot going on with both of the main characters, but the story was entertaining. The characters were interesting.
****Blurb - He'll do anything to have her...
I went back and forth on this story a bit. Sometimes I was really creeped out with how Ian found Eve and then decided to go after her and other times I thought it was kind of sweet. I also wanted to smack Eve for being upset about Ian reading her blog - you posted it online - LOTS of people read it! There were other things that didn't sit well with me, but I'm going to go with that's just me.
I did like the story overall. I liked how Ian and Eve connected so quickly and easily (attraction wise anyway!). The dates that Ian and Eve went on as well as their conversations getting to know each other were awesome. I liked the way the story ended, but I do wish there was another epilogue further out than the one we got for 2 years later. Probably because I'm greedy. I recommend reading this book.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Ian And Eve Break The Rules, Hoping For A Chance At Love, But Tyler's Visit Threatens To Derail Their HEA. Fans Of Margaret Atwood's The Handmaid's Tale May Enjoy The Many References To The Book. Don't Forget To Grab The Bonus Scene!
This book is the fourth in the Dirty Rich series. It stands alone, but fans of Dirty Husband, book three in the series, will be happy to see newlyweds Shepard Marlowe and Jasmine Lee, former high school sweethearts torn apart by alcoholism and brought together again six years later in a twisted game. This is Ian's story, Shepard's good friend and business partner. It takes place mostly in June, about three months after Jasmine entered Shep's life again. Ian is introduced in Dirty Husband as an adrenaline junkie having an affinity for teaching virgins about the world of pleasure. He becomes fixated on one in particular that he follows online, but she has no idea who he is.
Eve Miller isn't your typical eighteen year old girl. Focused, driven, and articulate, she is mature beyond her years. The recently graduated punk rock princess does plan to attend college in the fall like so many of her peers. But unlike most, she has been making her way in the world for years without much parental support. Her trademark teal hair, heavy eyeliner, dark lips, and combat boots are her armor against the outside world, helping her to shield her feelings and remain focused.
Eve doesn't believe in fairie tales. She lost her mother many years ago, and her alcoholic dad tried but failed to stick around. Eve and her twin sister Addie work to support themselves with only occasional help from their absent father. Then last year Eve had the scare of her life with Addie, and the medical bills on top of everything else now make college tuition seem out of reach. She worries constantly about Addie and takes on the lion's share of responsibility herself.
Eve hopes to study creative writing, though her head is too focused on her job and bills to give it much thought now. In high school she loved literature and became very excited about Margaret Atwood's The Handmaid's Tale. She began a blog, Original Sin, to talk about literature and to journal. She was surprised when she got some followers, but it felt good to publish and it soon became her happy escape.
Ian Hunt, thirty-six, exudes power and control. The gorgeous black businessman started out flying helicopters in the Royal Air Force before being recruited into British intelligence and later setting up shop on his own, digging up dirt on others for a living. He left his brother Tyler in charge of the London office four years ago and moved to New York - it was a necessary change. One year ago he partnered with Shepard Marlowe, and the two have since become good friends.
Shep's wife Jasmine has recently taken quite an interest in Ian's love life. He has an unusual kink, having had about a dozen virgins cycle in and out of his life since coming to New York. His taste is notorious and he plays by a very specific set of rules. There is always an end date, no exceptions. The young women beg for him before it is over, and more than one was convinced she could win his empty heart.
For months now Ian has been obsessed with a woman online that writes about her love of literature and her personal struggles. He knows nothing of her personal details. Her open and honest blogs reach him in a way he doesn't want to acknowledge, yet he can't stop talking about her. Jasmine is convinced it is true love, but Ian no longer believes in happily ever after. He tried that once and was burned. He is much happier living a simpler life with his power suits, his work, and his one to two month relationships that end before any real damage is done.
When Ian reads Eve's latest post on Original Sin, things get real. Eve has been offered an opportunity by a strange man that Ian won't stand for. No longer content to obsess anonymously, he finally takes the next step. He digs up Eve's personal information and shows up at her work with an alternate opportunity - one she would be a fool to turn down.
Ian and Eve's beautiful love story is about a broken man and a resilient young woman who is mature beyond her years. It is serious in tone and the kink puts it a little on the dark side. In total honesty, it was a little slow to get into in the beginning. Perhaps that is due to the huge age gap; I am not certain. But having already read Dirty Husband, the appeal of reading more about Ian, Shep, and Jasmine kept me going. Very soon, questions about Ian's past pull you into the story and it becomes very easy to root for his and Eve's future together. Probably due to Eve's age, there aren't too many details provided about their happy ending. Note: by following the instructions provided in the book, a bonus scene is provided that takes place a few years into the future.
Tyler Hunt's story follows next in the series. Ian's thirty year old brother is a more casual, playful, and dangerous version of Ian. Hopefully Ian and Eve's HEA gets expanded in Tyler's book.
Ian and Eve break the rules, hoping for a chance at love, but Tyler's visit threatens to derail their HEA. Their story is nicely written, though some of the conversations are difficult to follow. The plot is complex. The characters carefully constructed and multidimensional. It is written in first person. The POV alternates between Ian and Eve. I rate this book four stars.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I liked the dynamic characters and uniqueness, but the storyline didn't grab me. I think the fact that he had sought out virgins and contracts before. It felt creepy.
This book is a dual pov billionaire romance. The short of it, if you like a tease book where the characters don't actually have sex until a good ways after the point they usually do in a romance and you don't mind some very tedious writing, 5 stars to you. If you can't stand to read to read short messages back and forth between characters very frequently, maybe 2 stars for you. I couldn't decide. The tease made me want to keep reading but I had to skim some short parts. It was continually stimulating but then didn't go as far as you would hope. (I think the tediousness comes from their relationship developing through texts for much of the book.)
The long of it... Eve works as a bar tender in a strip joint and needs a lot of money. She's been writing an online diary she accidentally saved as public instead of private and some people started following her. One of those is Ian. He falls in love with her (without realizing it) just from her writings. He doesn't try to figure out who she is until she writes that a customer (a doctor) offers her 5 figures for her virginity. Although, there is an inconsistency with that in the book. It floats between 5 and 6 figures but I'm pretty sure the author meant 5. Ian knows he cannot let her do that, so he offers her more. It's a bit more drawn out than just walking into the bar and offering it outright.
Ian has a habit of finding a woman he is interested in and having her at his beck and call for 30 days. He is clear up front that he is not going to see them after the 30 days. He frequently cuts it off before that point and usually after he finally has sex with them for the first time. He doesn't pay them but gives them a "parting gift" that varies greatly in value depending on how clingy they were. The book doesn't really go into what the women get out of it for the 30 days other than access to him. I'm not sure what women would do that unless he is constantly spending money on them in some way. It is eluded to that he has dressed other women by the clerk at a boutique where Ian's assistant takes her.
This book is very long and it gets quite dull in places. There is so much dialogue where it is a few words answered by one word and then 20 words and then 5 words for 2 or 3 pages. This usually wouldn't bother me but it covers so much of the book. So much of the communication between them is through texting. Even when they are on the phone, they speak in short sentences often.
I saw other reviewers complaining about how many times they talk about her high heeled combat boots. That got old. The number of times her teal hair is mentioned gets old, too.
The age difference wouldn't bother me except I have an 18 year old daughter who is headed off to college this fall. I would never approve of a relationship between her and a 36 year old no matter the circumstances and certainly not under these. I even think back to when I was 18 and would have been weirded out by being approached by someone twice my age. Perhaps if they looked a fair bit younger than their age, it would help. If I imagine it as some random person, I don't judge except that significant of an age difference would become a problem as he got older and she was still young.
I liked the characters. It is kind of odd that in the first half or so of the book, they talk about his best friend and his wife. Then his brother comes into the picture the day before they finally have sex and I don't think they ever discuss the best friend & wife again. I think one of them does think about them once. After that midway point, the brother is in a fair bit of the story. I would have really expected them to spend time with the friends again at the end. It was also very odd that the friends didn't come to the brother's birthday party and the book kind of glossed over that party anyway. Her sister was there but she is only in a short scene when she first arrives. This is the event that he originally tells her she will need clothes for. It was kind of the focus of what they would do together and then it is glossed over except for the sex parts. (The friends were from another one of the books in the dirty series.)
I might would read it again if I was looking for something stimulating but I wouldn't read the whole book. I find this author and more specifically this loose series to be quite hit or miss. I loved one of the books and hated the one the friends from this book are in. Obviously, this one was middle of the road for me. I'll keep reading but I hope to see better things in the future.
I loved this book, the story is amazing, it drew me right from the start and captivated me straight to the end. Crystal Kaswell is a gifted author, she creates interesting storylines and characters that are complex, realistic and easy to relate to. This is Ian and Eve’s story and I adored both of them, two people from different worlds wind up being perfect for each other in so many ways. Eve Miller lives with her sister, pays all the bills and is starting college soon. She is barely making ends meet working as a bartender at a strip club, when a customer offers to buy her virginity she considers it. Eve loves to write and pours her heart and soul into her blog, little does she know she gained an admirer, that admirer being Ian Hunt, a British Billionaire living in the States. He has never met Eve but when he reads that she is considering the offer for her virginity he feels the need to find her, stop her and make her his own offer. Since technology is his field he finds her with ease and is even more intrigued by her. Ian’s ex-wife broke his heart and it left him damaged, he has trust issues and does not do longterm relationships. But he has a proposition for Eve, he wants more than her virginity, he wants her for 30 days and offers a generous amount of money for her time. When the time is up hey walk away from each other. The money would make her life so much easier but she wonders if she can do it and and walk away with her heart intact when their time is up. Unable to pass on the offer she goes for it and wow, these two are made for each other, the chemistry between them is smoking and they are intellectually perfect for each other. There is a lot of great dialogue in this book including inner dialogue. Ian is definitely swoon worthy, inner demons and all. Eve is a strong independent woman and what I liked most about her is she was her own person and stayed true to herself. This book is beautifully plotted and there is never a dull moment, with plenty of drama, some angst, heartfelt moments and a sensual romance. Crystal Kaswell, thank you for another amazing story and emotional rollercoaster ride.
I listened to the Audible edition, Shane East and Vanessa Edwin are fabulous narrators and voice artists. They did an amazing job portraying the characters, bringing them to life giving each their own voice and personality. They captured their persona perfectly, grasped their emotions as well as their passion which can be heard in their performance. They are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another awesome listen🎧
3.5 stars Ian, a wealthy attractive alpha male who has had his heart ripped out & is still learning to trust again after his ex wife cheated on him. Eve, and 18 year old working as a bartender to support herself & her younger sister. Bills piling up, college to pay for, just trying to get by. She has a blog that she writes her feelings for all to see. Ian somehow stumbles across this blog & spends months reading Eve pouring her heart out online. Even though he is trained to, he chooses not to search & find out everything he can about Eve until he reads her latest post about some sleazy guy trying to buy her virginity. He in turn shows up & offers her the same. However his amount is much more generous & his stipulations are, she must quit her job & spend a full 30 days with him to receive the full amount. For the first 2 weeks there’s a lot of oral stimulation & plenty of built up tension. It isn’t until they travel to London & Ian meets up with his ex wife, that Eve finally gets her cherry popped. Once the first times out of the way they’re constantly going at it like rabbits, lol. Of course a story wouldn’t be complete without the bump in the road. This is when Eve finally discovers Ian has been reading her blog. This doesn’t seem like a big issue to me since the first time they met he told her he knew about the guy offering to buy her virginity, which she posted on her blog for the world to see.
I usually love Crystal Kaswell books & hate that I’m writing this but this book seemed to drag a bit & kept bringing up the same things. I just wasn’t convinced that Eve’s life was so terrible. Yes she had a junkie mother who overdosed when she was thirteen & her dad lasted a few more years after that & walked out but he was sending money. She has a paying job & gets tips. If things were so bad they could’ve downsized to a one bedroom, they are sisters that get along. I did enjoy the story’s direction & the chemistry between Ian & Eve. I’m happy that the extended epilogue was released, it makes the ending much better.

I received an ARC for an honest review. Omg I loved this book, I just could not wait to read what happened next, Crystal this book was awesome and deffo a must read (but so are your others) well heres my review .... enjoy guys!! Eve is a 18 year old young woman who works in a strip club serving drinks. She has a twin sister Addie who is 4 mins younger than herself, unfortunately Addie suffers from sever anxiety which caused a major breakdown the previous year where Eve nearly lost the only person in her life who she truly loves. She becomes her sister's protector, poor, down on luck n worrying daily bout rent and food for them both with No father or mother on scene just the two of them against the world. Eve is beautiful with her teal hair and rock chick outfits or her armour as she refers to it, Eve has never been with a man all the way, she's a virgin. Then there is Original Eve, her place on the internet to be her creative self, a writer, she writes in her own public blog where all her fears, all her thoughts are out there in the universe, her way of making sense of the life she's been given. One night in the bar she's Propositioned by a doctor wanting to buy her virginity. She writes about it and one of her avid readers Ian does not like reading this at all. He's an older man twice her age, has baggage from previous marriage that left him feeling hollow so.he built a metaphoric wall to protect himself but feels a connection even tho they have never met ... he's a specialist in finding things and finds out exactly where she works and then introduces himself to her. Intrigued she accepts a business card when he tells her he's after a bar keeper for a poker game and to ring if interested. She waits a few days and messages .... next thing you know he's buying her time for the next 30 days and also he wants her firsts to be with him, firsts that are hot, steamy and mind blowing .... but all this needs to be no strings attached as far as Ian is concerned, 30 days then they never see each other again ... sounds simple .... but love never plays fair!
