The second stand-alone romantic suspense in the Triggerman Inc. series featuring sexy assassins, a baby, and a devious bad guy from New York Times bestseller Marie Harte.
Deacon’s life could be better. Deacon—the Shadow—kills people for a living. He’s a choosy assassin, and he makes no bones about his life choices. But a baby… That’s something he knows he’d never conceive of—pun intended.
While he’s looking into this baby situation, snarky ex-supermodel Solene Hansen is in trouble. Deacon’s sticking to her 24/7. Before long, he's learning that there's a lot more to Solene than sharp words and a gorgeous face. But his enemies are close, and they've taken note of his interest..
It'll take all his talent to keep Solene safe, learn who wants him dead and what the baby has to do with any of it, and figure out how to get Solene to realize that while he might not be a safe bet, he'll be a sure one.

With book two in the Triggerman Inc. series, Marie Harte delivers yet another intense and entertainment story for Deacon and Solene.
I would highly recommend read this series in order because of its connections with the first book. The ongoing thread of the baby starts with the first book and I imagine it will continue on throughout all of them. It’s a cute touch, but because this is a Romantic Suspense novel, it does seem a bit off-beat, which I think was the intention of the author.
That being said, this book isn’t going to be your typical suspense novel that you’re using to. It’s quite a bit lighter in tone, mainly because of the banter that the guys have. But it does contain that intensity which I think is important for all suspense novels.
I think it will be interesting to see how the next book will turn out because Harte has set up that book well and I’m definitely looking forward to seeing what’s going to happen next.
I think Deacon and Solene are the most fun of the three couples. Deacon is probably my fave.
Deacon (funny sexy assassin), along with his assassin buddies, Noel and Hammer, are still trying to solve the mystery of Little D's parentage, figure out who Angel is, and also find out who is trying to kill them. He's gladly taken on the task of guarding Addie's BFF, Solene (former model, daycare owner), since they have a flirty love/hate relationship. Solene has sworn off all men because they tend to use her, but Deacon is definitely challenging her on that. They eventually give into their feelings while also fighting off the bad guys. Deacon and Solene eventually realize that they both crave what Noel and Addie have - but first, they need to stop getting shot at.
I love these two as a couple. Deacon is super funny and I love how he will stop at nothing to seduce Solene. I also love that Solene is a badass and not a damsel in distress. I honestly have no complaints in this series other than I wish there was more sex. That shouldn't surprise you though.
Def listen to the audiobooks. Jason Clarke is sexy. I highly recommend.
Secrets Unsealed is the 2nd book in Marie Harte’s Triggerman, Inc. series. This is Deacon and Solene's story. Deacon moves into Solene's guest room to protect her from a stalker but soon their relationship develops and their relationship goes thru the rollercoaster ride along with tons of action, danger, passion, fun and entertaining times, mystery, drama, angst and romantic suspense thrown in to go with the feels that will have you on the edge, dying to know if Deacon and Solene get their HEA. Another captivating story that tells a sexy and interesting story about two people who are meant for each other and the things in their paths blocking the way. This is a sweet read!!! I can't wait for book 3.
This is Deacon and Solene's story. They are very independent and strong characters with similar pasts that have made each of them build walls around their hearts. Their passion is intense, sexy and all consuming but, it also hides their vulnerabilities. It is the human side of their characters that makes you believe that they will find a way to have a future together.
Even though at the center of this book is Deacon and Solene's romance, the drama that begins in the first book of this series, 'Contract Signed' carries over into this one. So, I do think it is best to read this series in order because as soon as some of the mystery comes into focus questions and concerns pop up. It keeps you glued to the action and help figure out who has a vendetta against Noel, Deacon and Hammer. The action continues with Hammer's story. A definite recommendation for Triggerman Inc.
I voluntarily reviewed this after receiving a free copy.
The assassins gang is back picking up where the story plot ended in Contract Signedbut this time the focus is on Deacon/Shadow and ex-supermodel turned kiddie daycare owner Solene. So if you are caught up with the series then you already know the chemistry that both of those characters have... you know the typical oil and water. Solene is very independent and doesn't need no man, except when there are dangerous assassins out to get the group for mysterious and nefarious reasons. WHAT/WHO ARE THEY???!!!
The plot definitely thickens and certain puzzle pieces get revealed. However, just when you think you sort of know what you as a reader or even the gang itself figured out another crazy blindsight happens. While the story is all about indulging our romance angst needs the motives/identify of the nefarious and mysterious villain is revealed oh soooo slowly.
I can not wait for 3rd and final book of the series, Satisfaction Delived, to get all of my questions answered!
I received this book for free from Author in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

Secrets Unsealed (Triggerman, Inc. #2) by Marie Harte
Be still my beating heart. Harte turns riding shotgun into quite the adventure. The Triggerman, Inc. Series is shaping up to be a wild ride. The Bad Boy Club gets the surprise of their lives when a baby lands on their doorstep. Can these brother's in arms survive co-parenting while danger is forever knocking at their front door? Secrets Unsealed is the second book in this gritty series. Deacon is a man on the edge. Solene is a woman with baggage for miles. She's tough as nails, but dangerous to know and hard to forget. They could be a match made in heaven, if enemies weren't intent on giving them hell. Deacon and Solene add punch to a total eclipse of the heart.
This is book two of the series. We jump right in where book 1 ends. This is Solene and Deacon's story. The chemistry between these two is off the charts. I loved it all. Lot's of sass, lot's of intrigue, a bit of humor.
I can't wait to get the mystery solved as to where this baby came from. In the mean time, both Noel and Deacon have found their HEA. It seems as soon as they think they have it solved, it turns out that they have only taken baby steps in figuring out who is behind everything.
I like all the guys in the Triggerman, Inc. I wish there were more men so we could continue on with them. Can't wait to see what comes next.
*Complimentary copy provided for an honest review.
Book two of this awesome series is just as good as the first and works as a standalone. Deacon and Solene are a perfect match both from different backgrounds but very similar in how they are emotionally. Deacon 's the ladies man and never allowed anyone close. Solene learned her lesson the hard way and keeps people as far away as possible, so far only Addy her best friend has been able to get close. But there is something about Deacon, she feels safe around him and Deacon's never felt this way about another woman, he feels relaxed and comfortable with her; with her he drops his guard and lets her in. He knows there is more to her than just her sexy figure and gorgeous face. There is still the big mystery of who is out to get them and who the baby's parents really are?
Overall, another outstanding book. Deacon and Solene have a great chemistry and they are very, very sexy together and their dialogue is so funny at times. I love all the action very suspenseful. Great writing and great character development I can't wait for Hammer's book next.
I liked this one, but the sniping between Deacon and Solene got old fast. I did like that both realized when things went a bit too far and they each shared deeply secret things about themselves. I also liked that Solene didn't give Deacon a hard time with what was going on and helped when she could. I really loved the plans that Solene made for the future, it was perfect for them.
I kinda just found this one boring. The characters addressed jut a couple too many problems by having sex and I just didn't feel the romantic chemistry. The metaplot seemed needlessly complicated and the suspense just didn't hit for me. I have the first one checked out from the library so I might read it, not sure yet. It's not a bad book, I don't think, it was just the wrong book at the wrong time for me.
Deacon, Noel and Hammer are all contractors/assassins who banded together when a baby shows up on Noel’s doorstep that is linked to their last mission. Their target has set their sights on Solene, and Deacon has made it his personal mission to protect her.
Addy is involved with Noel, and Solene is her best friend. Solene is a retired supermodel turned day care worker who allows few people close due to her trust issues. As they spend time together, a relationship begins but is it enough to overcome their pasts?
Although some headway is made in the investigation there are still many questions unanswered. Deacon and Solene share an intense chemistry, fun banter, and pasts that have them reluctant to open their hearts but when they do it only makes the love they share that much deeper. It was great to catch up with Noel and Addy and I can’t wait for Hammer’s story.
The drama! The suspense! The romance! The humor! This series has it all and keeps you on the edge of your seat, not to mention staying up late because you can't put it down!

REVIEW: SECRETS UNSEALED is the second instalment in Marie Harte’s contemporary, adult TRIGGERMAN INC romantic suspense series focusing on a group of assassins and contractors who form a secret organization known as the Business. This is contractor Deacon ‘Shadow’ Shaw, and day-care worker/ ex-supermodel Solene Hansen’s story line. SECRETS UNSEALED can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous instalment is revealed where necessary but I recommend reading the series in order for back story and cohesion.
Told from several third person perspectives including Deacon and Solene SECRETS UNSEALED continues to focus on the search for the truth. Someone is targeting the group of contractors who recently took down the head of a Mexican cartel. An abandoned baby wearing a locket, and several attempts against their lives finds contractors/assassins Deacon, Noel and Hammer battling an unknown enemy. When the most recent attacks focus on day care worker Solene Hansen, Deacon makes it his mission to become guardian and protector of the woman with whom he will fall in love. What ensues is the building relationship between Solene and Deacon, and the potential fall-out when one of their own appears to have fallen to the dark side.
Solene Hansen is Addy Rose’s (Contract Signed #1) best friend, and with that, her connection to the Business places our heroine in the direct line of fire. Everyone is suspect; no one is safe including the man who would die to keep Solene alive.
The relationship between Solene and Deacon is one of immediate attraction but Solene’s safety is at risk with her continued friendship and involvement with Addy, and her new found mate. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and intense, without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.
We are reintroduced to Noel ‘Ice’ Cavanaugh, and elementary school teacher Adeline ‘Addy’ Rose (Contract Signed #1), contractors Hamilton ‘Hammer’ aka ‘the Destroyer’ Aston Montgomery III, Violet Leon, and their handler, a man known only to the reader as Big Joe but a man who remains in the background giving out assignments and cleaning up when a job is done. The requisite evil has many faces.
The world building continues to focus on the fall-out of an assignment that has followed Deacon, Noel and Hammer back home. Secrets and lies, hidden agendas, and the possibility of a double agent or mole keep the trio on the look-out for any potential threats and danger.
SECRETS UNSEALED is a story of betrayal, double cross and revenge; friendship and love; grit and determination. The premise is spirited and inviting; the romance is sassy and seductive; the characters are energetic and real. SECRETS UNSEALED is an imaginative and edgy story.
This is a delicious romantic suspense story that is not to be missed. It's ultimate conclusion will come in the next book but we have a VERY satisfying HEA in this story. Deacon "Shadow" Shaw is an assassin for "the company" who apparently is sanctioned by the US government. It recruits orphans on the streets that show promise. Deacon is one of these. His mother was a drug addict and he had to learn to fend for himself very early in order to eat and say safe. Currently he and 2 other agents are trying to solve the puzzle of who is the parents of a foundling left on Noel "Ice" Cavanaugh's doorstep. The baby was left with a note referencing an op in Mexico that Ice, Shadow and "Destroyer" Hammer were involved in. They've come together to find answers and protect those they care about as it seems someone wants them dead.
Solene Hansen is the best friend of Noel's neighbor Addy. She's a retired supermodel with a snarky attitude and a talent for turning a failing business into a success. She came from parents who used her as a money maker with little love for their daughter. Solene is guarded because everyone wants something from her; money, prestige, advancement, whatever. Now someone is targeting her because of Addy. Addy and Noel have become a pair. Deacon is a self appointed bodyguard to Solene while the guys try to figure out who's behind trying to kill them and who the baby is.
The baby had 2 clues on it, the note about Mexico and a locket with the name "Angel" and the code X6TFL. We finally, thanks to Hammer understand the code from his training days. It seems he and Angel were classmates. The code is 2 parts: X6 = Destruction & Termination and TFL = Too F*cking Lame in reference to classes they hated. He hasn't seen Angel since she "graduated" and hasn't for some reason shared the code meaning with the other 2 guys. No one knows where Angel disappeared to. To confuse matters the contractor Angel isn't the only "angel" out there. Seems another contractor gone rogue Romero Burleigh has his own set of angels, like Charlie's Angels from TV.
It was such a joy watching Deacon and Solene's chemistry burn up the sheets. They both fought this so hard but living in each other's pockets makes it impossible. Both of their hearts are firmly shielded from the past injuries. But they are kindred souls and can't seem to resist each other. Danger has a way of making people face what's truly in their hearts. At the conclusion of this story we are one step deeper into the mystery of who's the traitor in "the company" and who the Puppet Master is, and a HEA for Decon & Solene. I was given a copy of this story for my honest and voluntary review.
From the start I was hooked. The tension and the attraction between deacon and solemn was out of this world. The snarky banter between these two was 🔥🔥 I love how it’s also action and suspense packed along with clues and inter connected characters on the side linked to the baby from the first book.
I really enjoyed how solene at first was hesitant to get back into the dating world due to her past but deacon being the flirt he is helped solene see not everyone was like that and when he opened up to her about his past and his possible infertility they both bonded over trauma ….. well and sex🤭
Deacon an absolute flirt, always bringing dirty jokes to the table. I love how he goes deeper than what he is at the start and how he soon reveals his past and the hardships of it. I really enjoyed how he secretly loved spending time with “little Dee” since he knew he most likely wouldn’t be able to have kids of his own I feel like this aspect of the book was really sweet.
Solene a sassy blonde model with a body to kill for but some deep wounds that take time to heal. At the start she acts like she hates deacon but she’s only doing that to mask the attraction between them.
And shocker when deacon gets injured from helping Solene Feelings come to light and as soon as she wakes up it’s a heartfelt confession and declaration of love between the two and surprise surprise she breaks the news of her pregnancy to him.

Secrets Unsealed is the second book in Marie Harte’s Triggerman, Inc. series and it is just as good as the first. We get the continued laughs, fun times, danger, mystery, and action in this captivating romantic suspense. More information is revealed on who is behind the attacks on the group, the intensity level is amped up with some newly uncovered information that provides a new direction for the team and some twists and turns with an unforeseen shocking betrayal. This installment focuses on Deacon (Shadow) and Solene (Abby’s best friend) at the forefront but the rest of the gang is also included. We get to learn about Deacon’s past, why he became a contractor, and see a new side to his personality aside from the fun jokester he always portrays as well as get a more in-depth look at Solene and her background as an ex-supermodel who now owns/runs a daycare and understand why she has shut herself off from men. Both Deacon and Solene share similar insecurities and are afraid to open themselves up and be vulnerable but together they bring out the best in each other and when they go all in it is for keeps. They make a charming duo and their romance is passionate and explosive; they have great chemistry from the start. I love the ending for this couple. As good as the first two books have been, I am really looking forward to Hammer’s story and finding out what the happy ending will be concerning Noel, Jr./Baby Dee.
I received an advanced copy from the author and I am voluntarily leaving my honest review. All thoughts and opinions are solely my own.
Action and heat-filled cloak and dagger romance - did I mention🔪 dagger?!😲 April 16, 2019 Format: Kindle Edition 😲💕🔪🔥 I think I preferred the first novel in this series about Addie and Noel, but Solene and Deacon's romance in this second of the series is steamy and drama-filled too. Solene has a bit more edge and fire than her friend Addie and fights her attraction to Deacon, a totally different dynamic from her friend's romance. There's a pall of danger and deepening threats hanging over them and their three protectors; it really had me wondering just who the good and bad guys were and what about the mystery "Angel" baby boy?! I still haven't figured it out; hope all will be revealed in Hammer's story to follow.
In the meantime, shady characters come and go and Deacon's knife skills come into play in a big way. This storyline gave good backstories for Solene and debonair Deacon, the practiced womanizer of the three mercenary assassins who are the heroes of the series.
With some thrilling action scenes and the romancing, I enjoyed the plot and characters, though I thought the beginning and end were the better parts of the book.
I read a complimentary advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest review.
Secrets Unsealed takes three charming assassins: Noel, Deacon, and Hammer - further into the mystery of who are the parents of Noel Jr. or little D, as Deacon prefers to call him. Now that they know none of them is the father, their search continues. They are pretty sure that the mom is Angel, an operative who they believe to be dead. At first, the assassins' enemy had Noel and Addy in his sights, but now it seems his focus has shifted to Deacon and Solene. As Noel recovers from a shot wound, Deacon —the Shadow— is cast as snarky ex-supermodel Solene Hansen's protector. The more time they spend together, the more he learns about her. As he realizes that there is more to her than sharp words and a beautiful face, Deacon starts to see a future with the woman who seemingly hates man. He has his own scars and a tragic past, but together maybe they could both heal and have a HEA. Solene and Deacon are hilarious together. Their snappy remarks are funny and entertaining. The attraction between them is hot and their need to keep each other and baby D safe is telling. As more clues are revealed, I can't wait to find out who will claim the baby, who will end their enemy and if Big Joe is clean or dirty...
Thoroughly enjoyable second book in this trilogy. Great second book in this trilogy, as the author has paired a couple totally different from book one, giving us diversity whilst keeping the background story flowing at a great pace. A lot happening with the overall plot that kept me reading to see what was going to happen next. Action, intrigue, betrayal and surprise abound in this story. Whilst all of the great backstory is unravelling, we get a relationship blooming between Deacon and Solene. These two are so alike and complement each other so well even though they both try to make light of what they are feeling. I loved that Solene was such a strong female lead, having been a model since 11 years of age she knew how to spot fakes. Solene had her own money and definitive ideas of what she wanted. Deacon shows more depth than we saw in book one. Whilst the charming joker is still there, we get so much more from him. To get the best from this book I recommend reading book one first but you could read this without doing so. Cannot wait to see what is happening with Vi. Something really interesting going on there. This is my honest review of this book.
This is going to short be and sweet because I don’t want to give too much aware. For me, this book needs to be experienced because of what goes on in the story. And how the author leaves the ending. There is massive intrigue and I still can’t figure out how it is going to end.
I have to say that I thought this book was better than CONTRACT SIGNED. SECRETS UNSEALED really was so freaking good! I liked the characters, but for me it was the storyline that kept me entertained. So many twists and plots within plots. This is one time that I am completely stumped with who is the real mastermind. And the questions … I have so many questions and no answers!!!! Who is one of the characters? I think I know, but I can’t be absolutely sure. GRRRR!!!!!
Now I need to wait for the book to get the answers. Well played Marie Harte, very well played. I am vested in the story now and NEED to know what is going to happen.
Secrets Unsealed is the second in Marie Harte's Triggerman, Inc series, about three assassins and a baby :) This story features Deacon Shaw, known in his business as the Shadow, and ex-supermodel Solene Hansen. We first meet these two in Contract Signed, the first book--they're friends of Noel and Addy, and get along as well as oil and water. But as we well know, opposites can attract fiercely, and throw in some serious chemistry and sarcasm, and the combination is nearly irresistible. So, when the danger to Solene amps up, Deacon intends to do everything in his power to keep her safe.
Marie Harte keeps up the heat in Secrets Unsealed, and Deacon and Solene are incredibly entertaining together. There's enough suspense to keep the plot rolling, but the banter between this couple and with their friends keeps the atmosphere lighter. I couldn't stop reading, and am quite eager to continue Ms Harte's series!
Solene doesn't really care for men. But since Deacon has been her shadow, she may need to change her stance. Deacon has hidden depths and Solene is finding out just how similar his life is to hers. I really enjoyed this story by Marie Harte. It continues where Contract Signed ends. We get to learn more about Deacon and Solene. Both of them have tragic pasts and handle them quite differently. I love that Deacon is seen as such a flirt but his charm hides a painful past. I loved seeing him open up to Solene. He was more in touch with who he is but that doesn't mean he was ready for what Solene is beginning to mean to him. Solene isn't ready for Deacon. She finds herself fighting her attraction to Deacon and the more she learns the harder it becomes. Ms. Harte weaves a tale that finds to scarred individuals learning to trust even as danger surrounds them. This is a well-written, enjoyable read. I thoroughly enjoyed it and looked forward to seeing where Ms. Harte will take us next.
After reading the first book in the series I was happy to see Secrets Unsealed would be Solene and Deacon's story.
I really liked the further clues and details provided about the series mystery of where the baby came from and who his parents are. The author has done a nice job providing enough information to move the plot forward without giving everything away.
Deacon and Solene's transition from antagonising each other and flirting to friendship and more plays out over the whole book and I liked that it was just as much about them connecting over their pasts and fears as much as it was about their physical attraction.
I am looking forward to Hammer's book next!
Thank you to the author for providing an ARC for an honest review.
I received an ARC of this book for an honest review. This is the second book in a trilogy. Deacon is a flirty hero whose casual demeanor hides his depth of character. Solene is a gorgeous former supermodel who now owns a daycare. They are trying to figure who has it in for them and their friends, and learning to trust each other in the midst of everything going on around them. This book was really exciting, and kept me guessing. Deacon and Solene are really great together. This book has lots of hot and steamy moments followed by snappy dialogue, and was really fun to read. I cant wait to read the final installment.

Very erotic story that follows a similar sexual path as book 1, including backdoor. Lightly forced (she says "maybe", he "forces" himself, but at no time do you feel she's powerless. She is willing to be controlled and he's willing to stop if she tells him to. Some drug taking and rape by BadGuys of background, undeveloped characters, off screen.
Story is fun. Characters are fun. Our MCs come from problematic childhoods but are not in any way broken. They are people who have become the best the can be and are willing to learn and love and be loved.
Marie Harte keeps hitting them out of the park! In this latest installment of Triggerman Inc., we meet hit man, oops, sorry, contractor, Deacon Shaw (aka Shadow) and retired supermodel Solene Hansen. Deacon moves into Solene's guest room to protect her from unknown dangers, but he doesn't stay in his own room for long. As the romance heats up, so does the danger. You will not want to miss this one. I can't wait for book 3.
