Debbie Macomber’s novel, Perfect Partners, is actually two stories previously published. The first story, Love ‘N’ Marriage is about Stephanie Coulter, a corporate assistant, who works at a company owned by Jonas Lockwood. It’s your typical Hallmark-like story so if you’re not into Hallmark movies, you might not be interested. It’s lighthearted and fun, just what this reader enjoys at the end of a day. The second story, Rainy Day Kisses, revolves around the characters of Susannah Simmons, a woman focused on a five-year plan until she meets her neighbor, Nate Townsend, who has her thinking twice about what she thought she wanted in life. Another lighthearted story that almost progressed too quickly for me. The stories fit well together into one novel. I probably would have given 3.5 stars as the predictability was too much, even for this Hallmark movie loving reader. If you’re looking to be entertained, want to smile at the end of a long day, and even chuckle at times, this is the book for you.
Book has two stories Love 'N' Marriage and Rainy Day Kisses. The first book was about an office administrator stepping in for a temporary position that goes on longer then expected. Her co workers believes she has a good chance for a love interest. Found it humorous on how she worked around the bosses temperament at times. While trying to leave her co workers in the dark on the escapades out side the office.
Rainy Day Kisses the couple meets as neighbors and learn about each other through child sitting with out much experience. Susannah is hesitant to pursue relationships it doesn't fit into her five year plan for success. Her neighbor shows her a little about work life balance thru engagements and what she is missing in life. Good read about what you may miss out of life if you just focus on career.
Two stories in one book: 1) Love ‘n’ Marriage. Delightful and a great story to read in a time of uncertainty and challenges. Took my mind off a lot of the angst I have been dealing with and letting me go into the world of romance and fantasy. Enlightens the heart and soul
2) Rainy Day Kisses. I found a little harder to get into. Not sure if it was just me dealing with too much on my plate or if this book just didn’t strike me as welcoming in the beginning. As I got into it, I couldn’t wait to see how it ended. Couldn’t put it down.
Debbie Macomber never disappoints. She manages to enthrall and keep you hooked until the very end. I haven’t yet felt like I’ve been bored.
Loved Rainy Day kisses with Susanna and Nate better than the other one with Jonas and Stephanie but both swallowed me into their worlds. Less actual intimate details which I appreciated as it focused more on the relationship. Nate was a pleasure to read whereas Jonas (saw a typo for Jason, made me smile) was a difficult Character for me.
This is actually two books in one, Love ‘n’ Marriage and Rainy Day Kisses, both of which involve women who are not looking for the men they found but everything works out for the best in the end. Interesting enough but it’s not as though there’s ever any doubt as to the outcome.
Perfect Partners is a fun, feel-good romance full of charm and witty banter. Debbie Macomber delivers lovable characters, great chemistry, and a heartwarming story that’s impossible to put down. A perfect cozy read!
