I’m still working through it, but I’ve read the whole thing and I’m so excited about this journal! If you have this deck I definitely recommend it, and even if you don’t you could still use it and the techniques that it has for remembering cards, even if yours wouldn’t match the exact illustrations in the journal. 5 stars for sure!
I picked this up along with the tarot deck from the same author.
Journal is beautifully illustrated and has a lot of sections, places to write down spreads, your personal meanings on the cards, a place for books that you are reading or wanting to read, a section for websites and resources on learning and pages for spreads you are doing and their meanings to you.
The only downside I could see is some of the space is pretty small, for me that is an issue as I write fairly big and ran out of space fairly quickly. The borders on the pages can take up a fair amount of space and I feel it would have been better for me personally if these were smaller to give me more space to write.
I will continue to use this in my journey to learn the tarot and see it as a great beginner tool to delve into the learning process and when I run of out this journal I will be for sure taking aspects of it into a new journal.
If you’re new to tarot or even advanced, this is one the best tarot journals. I loved how it gave solid, to the point information and guidance without being heavy handed or in your face about it. The break down of each section and with usable and customizable layouts for readings, deck interviews and spreads. I also really loved how it included sections to keep track of your resources such as your deck collection, online resources and even friends (inner and outer circle) that you have with you on the path.
A wonderful introduction to tarot and a great tarot aid. Mostly intended for beginners, but old hats will get something out of it as well. Its organization and illustrations ate very complementary.
I found this journal impossible to keep up with. Using a regular (and cheaper) notebook or even your intuition (even cheaper) will prove to be much easier and beneficial than this book.
