Miranda and Parker #16

Most Likely to Die

Rate this book
Just a few weeks ago, PI Miranda Steele thought the love of her life was dead.

Parker believed the same about her.

Miraculously, they made it through the worst ordeal of their lives, and have retired to the peace and quiet of the North Georgia Mountains.

But it’s a little too peaceful here, and Miranda is getting restless.

As a diversion they decide to attend a high school reunion party in Chicago. Nothing dangerous about that, right?

But when a former classmate is found dead, Miranda and Parker are pulled out of retirement to investigate what could be a bizarre murder. Not exactly what they had planned.

Once again things are about to turn deadly.

This time, they might not survive.

This one was great. It felt like the earlier Miranda/Parker books when they we working a normal murder case.

Miranda and Parker are retired and living in a cabin in the Georgia mountains, but Miranda is feeling restless. When she gets an invitation to her high school reunion in Chicago they decide to go. It’s a reunion right. What could possibly go wrong. Surely no dead bodies are going to surface. But wait! Miranda has a knack for being where a body turns up. And that is just what happens at the reunion. And since they know the detectives and the dead guy is a husband of one of her HS friends Miranda and Parker help with the investigation.

Cannot wait for the next book, to see what else Linsey Lanier has install for Miranda and Parker. Cause after that last chapter you know there is more to come.

I love the Miranda and Parker series and look forward to the next book!

I started reading these books because I prefer female authors! Their style is different than male authors! I have read these books fast because I can't put them down! 😊

Mystery stalker

Miranda and Parker retired after the toll the last case took on them. While in their getaway in the Georgia mountains, Miranda gets a last minute text about her 19th high school reunion in Chicago. Parker and her decide this may be fun and a chance to explore Chicago as tourists and Miranda can see some high school friends.

Life is never simple for the Parker’s though. During the reunion, a former classmate is found dead.

This book isn’t as intense as the last few but it was a good read and story. This was a relaxed “who done it? “ story. A quick read because again the writer pulls you in and you just have to know how it the story ends.

I am a forever Linsey Lanier fan!

A review of most likely to die.

Another fantastic book! You just keep getting so much better. Please keep writing more books. I am looking forward to reading all of your other books. You really know how to keep a reader on the edge of their seat. More power to you. I am looking forward to reading your Police Series books. I love police stories also. You can write many, many books about police and their tireless and sometimes thankless job. My grandson, the middle one, wants to be a police officer. I imagine that I Will worry about him if he realizes his goal.Again, thank you for all the super good books so far. Keep up the good work.God bless you for your talent. Also, I appreciate the fact that you have a strong moral code about spouses who cheat.

Miranda Needs To Grow Up

I've read all 16 books. I still don't see where Miranda has grown up at all! Why is it that she gets "agrivated" with Parker and her team and wants to "sock" them to speed up what they are saying or when Parker doesn't live up to her expectations? It's ok when she screws up or when Parker saves her butt over and over some? When Parker suggests maybe having a child again, right away, he'll have to forget about it because she's not about to give up "her carer". For some one who doesn't need money to make her happy..she can sure spend i!! Not sure I can read another book about Parker and Steele when it should be about Steele and Steele.

Being retired is not what it's cracked up to be.

Good read. Great mystery for a couple of retired private investigators. When they think they're on a trip for Miranda us high school reunion they get wrapped into a murder investigation. Now Parker's beside himself trying to keep his wife safe. Good read.

Different

One quibble in that I’ve never in recent memory seen a balcony railing so low that a regular sized person could be easily pushed over to dangle and die, but what do I know? Especially from the “rooftop terrace”?

Fantastic

I really enjoyed this book and read it in 2 days. It kept you thinking all the way through and I wasn’t expecting it to end the way it did. Only 3 more books left of this series and hopefully they will all be read within the week.

This author is always a good read. Twists and turns in her mysteries, characters you really get to know. Minor romance.

Mystery and romance

This one didn't have quite the intrigue of previous books..The mystery is there but missing a lot of the suspense.

Magnify glasses needed

Cursory looks. Rushed. Presumptive thoughts and decision. Equals missing obvious clues. Right place at wrong time OR simply wrong and need to stay home.

Miranda & Parker have retired or so they say. It seems everywhere they go a dead body is found. Can they solve this one. These books are very good reading. And a good love story to boot.
