Sweethearts of Country Music #2

Taylor's Legendary Heart

Rate this book
When six musicians come together to form an all-girl country band, The Sweethearts of Country Music are born. But can they balance their musical worlds with their personal lives?

Taylor Jones has a gift. She's never been a big talker, but once she started getting her emotions out on the keys of a piano, she found her peace. Between tough breakups and a move from NYC to Nashville, the piano has been the one constant in her life. And now it's her ticket to success when she's asked to join an all girl country band and their first album hits number one.

British pop star Eddie Williams has seven number one hits, three hit albums and one major regret. He never told Taylor he loved her. But every song, every melody has been about the piano player who got away. Now that her face seems to be everywhere he turns, he's determined to rectify that mistake.

But with their booming careers working to drive them further apart than ever before, can Eddie break through Taylor's country strong armor and get to the heart he'd lost out on all those years and records ago?

The Sweethearts of Country Music series includes six books by six different authors. Each novel features a member of the band as she struggles to balance music and love.

Victoria Pinder grew up in Irish Catholic Boston before moving to the Miami sun. She’s worked in engineering, after passing many tests proving how easy Math came to her. Then hating her life at the age of twenty four, she decided to go to law school. Four years later, after passing the bar and practicing very little, she realized that she hates the practice of law. She refused to one day turn 50 and realize she had nothing but her career and hours at a desk. After realizing she needed change, she became a high school teacher. Teaching is rewarding, but writing is a passion.
During all this time, she always wrote stories to entertain herself or calm down. Her parents are practical minded people demanding a job, and Victoria spent too many years living other people’s dreams, but when she sat down to see what skill she had that matched what she enjoyed doing, writing became so obvious. The middle school year book when someone wrote in it that one day she’d be a writer made sense when she turned thirty.
Besides her full time job of teaching, in 2013 and 2014, she sold on her own sold books to three different publishers. The Zoastra Affair, Chaperoning Paris, Borrowing the Doctor, and Electing Love will be published from Soul mate Publishing. Mything the Throne will be published with Double Dragon Ebooks. Favorite Coffee, Favorite Crush will be published with Jupiter Press.
Now she is represented by Dawn Dowdle of Blue Ridge Literary Agency and she hopes to continue selling her novels that she writes. Moving up to the next level from hard work and determination is rewarding, and partnerships bring new opportunities.
Also she’s the Vice President of Progams for the Florida Romance Writers. She’s gone to multiple conferences and intends to continue. She learns and meets so many people at conferences. Her website is here, www.victoriapinder.com, and she’ll continue to grow my web presence. She is working hard on other projects and found the time to plan her wedding this year.
Before writing, her father had taken her to many star trek conventions and on her own she grew up as the only girl in the 90s at the comic book store. Science Fiction was her first love, but contemporary romance was her second. She’s sticking with contemporaries for the near future.

Taylor's Legendary Heart (The Sweethearts of Country Music) - a review by Rosemary Kenny

The title of this book would make a good song title, as the up-and-coming Taylor moves away from Colorado, to join the likes of Miley Cyrus, Dolly Parton et al in the 'Holy City' of Country and Western greats, Nashville, Tennessee, in Victoria Pinder's great contribution to the Sweethearts of Country Music series, in which six great writers each contribute the standalone story of one of the Sweethearts' career and romantic lives,(or initial lack thereof ) Taylor and Eddie's story within.
Try Taylor's Legendary Heart, by the wonderful Victoria Pinder for yourself soon, to avoid 'an achy-breaky' heart - I guarantee you'll love it!!

The sweethearts of Country Music gals have become so busy with their careers that they have pushed aside their personal lives and love. Taylor and Eddie have loved before and didnt get the ending results that they wanted so now their pasts have come back to try again and the girls are not sure it will work this time around.
These stories are beautifully written about love, happiness, laughter and sadness. I have loved these books so much so far and cant wait to read each one. Make sure you grab your copies today and see if these girls can find the love of their lives while keeping their careers on top.

This was a very enjoyable friends to lovers romance. I liked Eddie a lot but I thought Taylor was quite annoying. I thought that having these two at very different places in their career added a interesting dynamic to their relationship. Toss in the fact that both of these character have their own fears, insecurities and emotional baggage and you just know you are in for a very emotional tale with lots of back and forth. I felt that this sweet romance was a good read. I am posting a voluntary, honest review.

Taylor and Eddie have known each other for years. They were best friends while they were both attending school and studying music, and lost touch after college while both pursued their dreams of music stardom. Now he is a handsome Pop superstar, and she is finally starting to get somewhere in her own music career as party of a female country music group. Out of the blue, Taylor hears from Eddie and decides to actually make contact. They fall into the same old comfortable roles of best friends, though Eddie has a different relationship in mind. He has always regretted not telling Taylor that he wanted more than just friendship, but now he is determined to claim her as his. Taylor is stunned when he declares his love and his intentions. Her heart says yes, YES...but her head is saying not so fast and back up. She has never made good choices about men in her past and has always been left hurt and disillusioned. Her parents have always tried to steer her towards men they deem to socially acceptable (doctors, lawyers etc.), and have never approved or supported her music career. What should she do? Confused, yet somehow exhilarated and thrilled, Taylor is trying to be open to a change in her relationship with Eddy, though she fears everything could end in disaster and she could lose Eddy as a friend too. Eddy, bless is heart, is persistent. He manipulates his tour schedule and other events to give him a chance to win Taylor’s heart. Her band mates aren’t above giving Taylor a nudge in Eddie’s direction either. Yes their careers could make their relationship complicated, but love is worth it, right? Now to get Taylor on board.

This is a sweet, engaging story with characters that have real depth and dimension. This book is well worth the read and I look forward to reading the next book in the series. I received an ARC of this book and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

Love is never easy and even more so when insecurities, conflict and family get in the way. So it is with Taylor and Eddie…

…Both have talent, but one already has made it big while the other is just getting started.
…Both suffer from parental neglect. They have wealthy parents who have pretty much ignored them all their lives, thus missing out on loving homes.
…Both see things from a different view. Taylor is from Colorado. Eddie is from across the pond in England.

However, none of this is the real problem. You see, their real issue is fear. They both have been paralyzed with doubts, second guessing and those stubborn insecurities. They both are afraid. Eddie is afraid to let Taylor know how he really feels about her. Taylor is afraid of getting hurt. She’s been bitten once to often and suffered harsh effects from caring for the wrong men. Sooooo, Eddie and Taylor have a ’teeter-totter’ relationship… Up and Down, Up and Down.

Overcoming their doubts requires courage. Circumstances make it to where they have to make choices. One choice will bring them together. The other will split them apart forever. Choices are never easy to make. Making a life changing choice is even harder.

👁OBSERVATIONS:

...Taylor is just a little too whiney. Her insecurities have her second-guessing everything.

...Both sets of parents need a crude awakening.

...I would have loved to know more about Keith. I would have liked to see his reactions to Taylor and Eddie, to Taylor's success and to how Eddie refused to let Keith throw Taylor under the bus.

Taylor’s Legendary Heart by Victoria Pinder is the second novel in The Sweethearts of Country Music series. Taylor Jones is the pianist/keyboardist for Lipstick Outlaws which is an all female country band. Their single ”Came to Nashville” is a hit and the group is touring with Miranda Lambert. Then Taylor gets a call from her ex-boyfriend stating he deserves half the royalties from the song since it is about him. When Taylor notices Eddie Williams had called, she immediately calls him back. It has been three years since Taylor had seen Eddie, but they were very close in high school and at Julliard. Eddie Williams is a British pop star who has not forgotten Taylor. He let her get away once, and Eddie is not going to let it happen again, so he initiates Operation Romance. Taylor will need to overcome her fears, though, if she is going to let Eddie into her heart. I enjoyed reading Taylor’s Legendary Heart. I liked getting to know Taylor and what made her the wonderful piano player and songwriter that she is now. I thought the book was well-written and it moved at a steady pace. Eddie Williams is a sweetheart that has been in love with Taylor for years. He is a kind man who intends to woo the woman he loves. I liked catching up with the Lipstick Outlaws and seeing how they are enjoying their newfound fame. Taylor’s Legendary Heart is a sweet, romantic story that will take you on an emotional roller coaster.

The second book in the Sweethearts of Country Music series continues the story from book one, and the band is skyrocketing in popularity. This is due in no small degree to the talents of one of the song writers, Taylor Jones, our heroine. Her emotional roller coaster was a near-constant, but her patent sincerity kept her vibrant throughout. Her wish for the best of the hero, Eddie Williams, was present always.

Eddie is an emotional man with a super-constant heart whom you can't help but appreciate. He's a superstar, but also one of Taylor's most trusted friends from "back in the day" and he's still there for her, even after a long silence had fallen between them.

This sweet romance has emotional highs and lows, some parents you want to just UGH over, adorable moments, and a surprise in the middle. An entertaining continuation, keeping us in touch with the girls in the band and those who work with them. Victoria Pinder is a new-to-me author, but I am surely checking out more of her work!

i received an ARC in exchange for an honest review: https://nanasbookreviews.blogspot.com...

It's a nice romance quite different from the rest of Victoria's books that I have read. It's a friend to lovers novel with a lot of back and forth. The plot is sweet and simple no serious drama but the characters have many conflicts, fears, and insecurities. Eddie was the lovable character, he was ready to go after the woman he loved and did everything he could to succeed it. His romantic gestures were my favorite parts of the book. Taylor, on the other hand, was too annoying, I get that she got hurt a lot and had trust issues but I think it took too long to come to her senses. In general, it's a light read that can introduce you to country music and the hurt/love story behind every song. I will rate it with 3.5 stars.
P.S. I would have liked to see a couple of scenes of how they were before and some with her ex.

Now it's Taylor's turn to find love. While in Memphis for a few days, while touring with Miranda as her opening act, Taylor gets a phone call from from Rick, an ex boyfriend who left her stranded at a gas station in the middle of nowhere. He stole her song idea notebook. In his call he says he is suing Taylor for half the royalties on her hit song, saying it is about him. Not knowing what to do, she calls her old friend Eddie, now a famous singer, songwriter. She went to school with Eddie and he had become her best friend. He starts hinting at love. But she had always loved Eddie like a brother. Could he possibly become more than her best friend and brother? Does she want to take a chance on love again? Read Taylor's story. I voluntarily read an ARC from the publisher. It in no way influenced my review, and this is my honest opinion.

I adored Eddie. He’s sweet and charming and just completely loveable. Taylor drove me absolutely batty in this book. I can one hundred percent understand crippling self-doubt. However, Taylor's doubts crippled not only her but the whole blasted story. It got to be to much, too often really, really fast. I thought Eddie deserved better than the Taylor we got to see. The story’s well-written, but it’s very repetitive about how much Taylor fears becoming a carbon copy of her mother – a fear which isn’t ever well explained – and how unworthy she believes she is of the life she’s leading now. My personal feelings on the matter are that this woman needed a therapist more than she needed a significant other, no matter how cute a couple they make.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher as part of a box set.

Taylor's Legendry Heart is Book 2 in the Sweetheart's of Country Music series featuring Taylor, the keyboardist in the Lipstick Outlaws. When she encounters some trouble with an ex-boyfriend, she calls on her longtime friend Eddie. Three years have passed since they last saw each other, and Eddie has become a singing superstar. When they meet again, it seems the years apart have taught both of them some valuable lessons. These lessons are the very heart of the book.
I always enjoy a Victoria Pinder story and this one has become one of my favorites. It is a sweet, clean romance with down-to-earth characters that are lovable and loyal and made my heart squishy! Great plot and HEA ending make this a 5-star read!

Taylor's Legendary Heart is the second book in The Sweethearts of Country Music series. I enjoyed learning more about Taylor. It was interesting to see how much her ex-boyfriend, Keith had done a number on her and made her swear off dating. That is something a lot of us can relate to.

Eddie Williams is a rock star who has loved Taylor since they were at Julliard together. He is a sexy and romantic guy and it was so sweet to see how in love he was with Taylor. I t was interesting that Taylor never knew how he felt for her.

I also liked how close the girls in the band are and how they will not let anything change that bond. It is fun to watch their band become a success. I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.

Fantastic music stars romance. Taylor is a country girl and a member of an all female group that’s going to be touring. Eddie is British but now a rock star who skyrocketed to fame. Taylor and Eddie have known one another for years since they went to music boarding school at the same place. They were best friends throughout their years at Juilliard but Eddie missed his chance to tell her how he felt before she was whisked away by another guy. Now they have a chance to chat about where their lives are going. There are times I get frustrated at both characters. This book was very enjoyable and entertaining. I received a complementary copy of this book and chose to write a review. I look forward to reading future stories by Ms. Pinder.

Taylor Jones is a member of Lipstick Outlaws, the new all-girl country band.
And when she reconnects with her friend and British pop star Eddie Williams, things get really interesting.
After Taylor gets involved with her ex-boyfriend, she ends up leaving Eddie behind and they lose contact. But when Taylor's band begins to hit, Eddie finally manages to rediscover her and state his feelings.
However, Taylor feels insecure about her feelings and the band's success. Eddie goes out of his way to show her that he is willing to support her and wait for her as long as it takes.
This is a beautiful story full of perfect moments between Eddie and Taylor. I'm already anxious to read about the other band members.
I highly recommend the reading.

Victoria Pinder brings us the second book in the Sweetheart of Country Music series with Taylor’s Legendary Heart with a mixture of fun, childhood and new friends, society parents and a lot of love mixed with frustration. Taylor is keyboard player for the band Lipstick Outlaws, an all girl country band, while Eddie is a rock star and Taylor’s best friend. What happens when best friends see each other again and realize how they feel? For the reader…frustration! There were times I wanted to reach in the story and shake Taylor and/or Eddie! But that was part of why I kept reading… you know how it should end, but not sure how they get there. Each book leaves me wanting more of the lives of this extraordinary band members!

I loved Eddie. Taylor over thought so much that the one time she did something spontaneous I dropped my jaw!! Looked again to be sure I was still reading same book. Well, then, that lasted two minutes and she was back over thinking again

There wasn't much conflict with her parents as I first thought would happen. Foreshadowing that she didn't want to become her mom became a mantra. But once Eddie gives them attention.....

So, Taylor was annoying. I otherwise was thrilled about how blessed she was with her band and career but almost wished poor Eddie a little peace

Not quite four stars as her overthinking got me thinking. L o l

This is another sweet romance from The Sweethearts of Country Music series. This time the all-girl band’s pianist, Taylor, and her former friend and Juliard classmate, Eddie Williams, reconnect. Eddie happens to have a personal motive for getting in touch and Taylor is struggling with her insecurities from a recent failed relationship.

I received a free advanced copy of this book and am voluntarily providing my honest review. Eddie and Taylor are extremely likable characters and their interactions held my interest, hoping they would figure out a way through the various blocks to their relationship. I cheerfully recommend this second book of the series.

Taylor reconnects with her best friend Eddie from school and he tells her she's the inspiration behind his hit love songs. Taylor was skittish about relationships after dating men that were all wrong for her. She's swore off dating, but she justifies if they are secretly married it won't be the same as dating. But then she blows hot and cold in the relationship worried about his female fans and wanting to put her career first. She kept running from Eddie instead of trusting what he said. I was surprised that her fellow Lipstick Outlaws, who prayed before every concert, accepted that she kept spending the night with him when they didn't know they were married.

Taylor's Legendary Heart

What a great book. The story line was great and the whole book had a great combination of facts taking place. The whole music scene is totally something else. With all types of music both pop and western and the singers that sing this style. This was a very interesting book on a British pop singer and an American country and western singer who had attended Julliard school of music only to end up at the same venue three years later. Read the book and enjoy the whole aspect of learning the ins and outs of running a music career. This was a Free book and a great one. This is my review and mine alone. Norma Gorrill

Taylor's story is one that was so much fun to read. It was well-written and overflowing with emotion. This is part of the Sweethearts of Country Music Series and gets its name from the band. Eddie and Taylor's love story was a beautiful story about two music stars who met at Julliard. Eddie fell in love with her there but never told her. All his love songs were about her and he wanted a second chance at love with Taylor. A lot of drama as they balance their careers and emotions. I read an arc and voluntarily chose to review.

I really loved this book, it pulled me in from the very beginning. Taylor & Eddies story is very sweet and a teeny bit sad, they went to Juliard together and were best friends but Eddie was in love with her, and she only saw him as a friend. Now
Taylor is an up and coming country music star, part of the Lipstick Outlaws, and Eddie is a famous and rich British Pop star. The writing for this story was very well done. The characters and plot were well developed and flowed smoothly. Can't wait for the next book in the series.

The second book in the Sweethearts of Country Music is about Taylor Jones the group’s pianist. She has had the misfortune of many bad relationships and doesn’t want to date anymore. An old friend from school who now has Rockstar status comes back into her life.
All the characters are woven together in this story to keep the inclusiveness of the Lipstick Outlaws together. All the gals are very supportive of each other.
A good read.

Taylor's Legendary Heart is a great friends to lovers romance. I love these stories built around the all girl country rock band. Obviously this is Taylor's story. The book has the usual cast of characters plus Taylor's friend Eddie. He has become a big rock star while the Lipstick Outlaws are just beginning their journey. If you enjoy music and a clean romance come along for Taylor and Eddie's journey to romance.

This had the potential to be a great story but I was left disappointed. There was no real content. Chapter after chapter was very repetitious. It was the same emotions over and over. There was no strong male lead and Taylor needed to be more dependable and independent. There was no exciting lead up to the happy ending.

I received this copy free from the publisher and am under no obligation to leave a review. I am freely sharing my view of this story.

I found an early confrontation set a tone that was off-putting. I am glad that I persevered as the story turned around almost immediately. Then things took a nosedive. By the middle of the story I became worn out with Taylor's attitude. This story turned into be a heartbreaker. The finale was barely enough to redeem it.

Haunting. Tragic. Tear-jerker. Twisted. Unpredictable.

I received a copy of this book as a gift.  This is my honest review.
